Of course, it does matter because at 168, Canelo got of belts to defend and while he might be the stronger one, but his win is not guaranteed and that is also the reason why he's definitely thinking twice before giving what Bivol wanted because as per the last discussion they have made, Canelo tried to purse the fight at 175 but Bivol and his team declined.

What I meant is that if Canelo wanted to fight Bivol, he can simply made it whether at 168 or 175 lbs. But the reason why the fight is not happening because Canelo have intentionally low ball Bivol for the money.

Yes that is true, I think Canelo can somehow get Bivol's approval to finally get the rematch done if only Canelo is humble enough to keep his feet into the ground and accept that he is not calling the shots in this fight anymore because it is him who is chasing for the rematch while for Bivol, he can always move-on into the next chapter with or without Canelo.

Quote
Now he will have only Benavidez to face as a threat in his 3 fight deal with them.

Three fight deal? Wow, that's interesting. Care to share mate? I would love to know more about that deal.

Here it is, Canelo Alvarez’s 3-Fight Deal With PBC Worth $100M+.

So the first one will be Charlo this September 30, we already have a thread about that fight. And if Canelo wins, then it might be David Benavidez next in September 2024. Last one maybe Morrell, but let's see. Maybe we can see a rematch or something.

I do agree that if Canelo somewhat bend and recognized that he lost the first fight with Bivol, at least they should offer a good price for the rematch. But again, it could be their excuse so that he won't fight Bivol either 168 or 175 lbs. And then go to PBC for a 3 fight deal.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 03, 2023, 12:47:49 AM
I don't have a gambling addiction, but I acknowledge that there are issues with my gambling habits that need to be addressed and corrected. One of the effective ways to tackle this is by observing, imitating, or modifying the patterns of other gamblers to suit me best. I'm curious about your own gambling lifestyle. Do you set aside specific times each day or week for gambling? If you enjoy sports betting, do you bet on games throughout the week whenever they're available? When it comes to visiting casinos, do you play at one today or this week and then try out a different one the next time you want to gamble? As for bankroll management, do you track it using an app, Excel, or any other methods? And regarding your environment, do you prefer playing at an online casino while listening to music in the background, or do you prefer a quiet atmosphere? I may have missed other aspects, but these questions should suffice for now. I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments.

No, I don't set time or day when I gamble, playing like roulette or slots is very difficult obviously when we do sports betting. For sports there are certain timezone that you need to follow just to be able to bet like on Tennis or Basketball or Boxing.

But for games like slot or roulette, I just play when I feel like to. Maybe when I got board then I just go to my phone and deposit and play.

As far as capital goes, no need to do excel spreadsheet, I never met a gambler in my life that tracks everything.

For not I prefer to play online, doesn't matter if I have music in the background or even talking to my wife when I play. But I do mute or lower the volume of my mobile phone when I play because of the obvious noise.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 02, 2023, 10:58:42 AM
That's why others think that Santiago has a good chance as Donaire might be a damage goods at 40 years old. But we can't say that for now, unless in the fight he shows his age, like his speed and power is no longer there. And then brutally getting knockout. If that happens then maybe it's time for him to retire and hang up his gloves for good.

Donaire certainly knows what he is doing. The only fighter who managed to defeat him in the bantamweight division was Inoue. Interestingly, even after their first fight, Donaire continued to compete against younger boxers and successfully won the belt. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect that Donaire will bring the same level of skill and determination to his upcoming fight. We might even witness his signature knockout against a lesser-known boxer.

You guys aren't confident betting on Donaire to win by KO?

Yes, I'm still with him as long as he is still active to the sports and especially this time that he will be fighting a somewhat nameless boxer who doesn't have any strong names in his records. No offense to Santiago's fans but I just don't see him winning even if he also have some advantages because for me, IQ and experience are the greatest upper hand that a boxer can have because sometimes, talent is working that hard to help you survive from a fight.

Santiago is not nameless, but I do agree that Donaire is just above any fighter in this division and this is probably one reason why Moloney doesn't want to fight him for the belt and instead go on easy route although they could be hiding on the excuse that Bob Arum has said, they don't want to deal with Probellum that time.

In any case, perhaps it was a good decision for Moloney as he is not a champion. But then again Donaire has also a greater chance to win as well if we look at the current odds, he is the favorite here.
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 02, 2023, 09:09:26 AM
As far as Bivol goes, he said he is willing to fight the winner of Charlo vs Alvarez, or at least if Canelo wins. He might have a dance partner this October, England’s Dan Azeez. But let's see if this is going to push through or not. Because Azeez could fight Buatsi as well for a eliminator and winner facing Bivol for this belt.

But within 168 pound division and considering that Canelo win his title defense against Charlo because Bivol also said that he was not really inclined to fight with Canelo and have a rematch in his own division as that will not make any difference at all. I mean, that is reasonable in Bivol's side as it was indeed clear as crystal that Canelo cannot defeat the WBC champ in the LHW division.

He is already desperate though, and so he said that he is willing to go down to 168 lbs and fight Canelo.

But it's already a foregone conclusion now, Bivol will have to wait now, as Canelo is with PBC right now and he is now going to defend his 175 lbs to either the mention names. So still not lost for Bivol, he might just have to continue to win and maybe either Canelo or Beterbiev will still be interested. Beterbiev for unification and Canelo so that he can avenge his defeat to Bivol.

But Canelo is not interested in defending the belts at 168 because the first encounter happened at 175, anyhow, Canelo will have to give the demand if he's really that eager to have a rematch even if there's too much risk in his position because he's now not in the A-side and he is the one now chasing Bivol.

It doesn't matter whether 168 or 175 lbs, Canelo will eventually have to rematch Bivol. He said that he will not give Golovkin a rematch and yet they fought in trilogy. So most likely this will happen to Bivol.

As long as Canelo is willing then it will happen. The problem seems to be Canelo ducking Bivol clearly as he moved to PBC to make the fight difficult to do and maybe it's going to be too late as Canelo is somewhat maybe on the twilight of his career although he cherry pick a inactive fighter for his next fight in Charlo to ensure that he is still going to win.

Bivol's situation is very different compared to Golovkin's because it was the latter who pursued the trilogy and waited for a couple of years before Canelo finally agreed as Canelo doesn't have much choice at that time because it was a 3-fight deal which included the trilogy and Bivol fight before that. While Bivol is not the one right now who is chasing, it is Canelo.

It might be the same if Canelo didn't go to PBC. But clearly, it was just a front for him and his fans that he will stay with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom. But at the last meaning he bailed out and go to Al Haymon. Now he will have only Benavidez to face as a threat in his 3 fight deal with them.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: July 02, 2023, 08:30:17 AM
I guess people will be seriously talking about this fight, discussing the chances of both boxers. Jermell Charlo is active unlike his brother, so I would expect him to give Canelo a hard time or even defeat him. This is the type of fight that fans would love to see—something that is hard to predict in terms of the winner. Although I believe the bookies would favor Canelo as the favorite to win this fight, who cares? I just think Jermell Charlo is a tough opponent.

Right, at least Jermell is more active and even has a schedule fight that has been postponed and this could be a blessing in disguise as the money will still be with Charlo's, LOL.

And as you have said, Jermell is a live dog so let's see. This could be very well be a competitive fight. Only problem I see is that he will have to go up in weight, but we don't know if he can do it or maybe it will be just easy for him as naturally this twins are bigger boxer at 154-160 lbs.
1186  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 01, 2023, 05:46:45 PM
I voted for Yes.

We have the momentum already, so just need another good news to push the market again. Although SEC says that the application inadequate.

Quote
Feedback from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) applications filed by Nasdaq and Cboe on behalf of investment giants BlackRock and Fidelity as inadequate is “not an indication that the product is not viable,” says a person familiar with the applications, who requested anonymity.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevenehrlich/2023/06/30/secs-rejection-of-bitcoin-spot-etfs-is-more-speed-bump-than-stop-sign/?sh=d2eb17737559

And yet the price didn't move a bit, actually it went as high as $31,000 before it goes down on a decline to lows of $30,000 and now trading at the middle, $30,500. So it's just a timing, so maybe if July has another good news to boot then the bullish sentiments might continue, IMHO.
1187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin ETFs on: July 01, 2023, 12:30:36 PM
Don't believe in what the media is feeding you, it's possible that the ETF will be rejected or probably another style of manipulating the market, either ways I am thankful that they are doing this because they are keeping the price down and if you are smart to should have taken the advantage already.

There is no need for worries because these people understand the market and they can manipulate it, so if they plan to approve the ETF they will when they feel it's the right time, but it's good that bitcoin doesn't care about the approval or the disapproval, Bitcoin will still do well without it.

As reported here, SEC Says Spot Bitcoin ETF Filings Are Inadequate.

So most likely it will be rejected or those who filed will need to do a better job so the chances of a approval will be high.

But perhaps maybe we can consider this as very positive sign, at least SEC is giving feedback instead of just blatantly rejecting it without further explanation.
1188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Crypto Games) A revolution in the gaming industry or a passing trend? on: July 01, 2023, 11:47:46 AM
Today I would like to understand and find out your opinion about the real value and potential of crypto games. I am interested to know how much they can change the gaming industry, what challenges and problems are associated with them? Grin

Crypto games, did you know that gaming or at least online crypto based platform was one of the best used case of crypto especially bitcoin? So that's say it all, and even in it's young history, crypto gaming has become a billion dollar industry already and you can see that there are a lot of crypto based signature campaigns here, each everyone trying to gather the audience to play on their platform.

One challenges is that crypto based gambling though has revolved, not they are mandated to enforce KYC because it is one of the regulations. And for the majority of us, we don't want to submit our personal info regardless of online gaming platform or even exchanges.
1189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zhang Vs Joyce II WBO Interim World Heavyweight Championship on: July 01, 2023, 10:24:14 AM
He wants to go back and have his name in the discussion for a Fury or Usyk fight if he wins here. Although the hype might not be there as he is no longer undefeated, specially a fight with Fury, all British showdown.

Unless he wins in a grand fashion like knocking him out, Joyce is in a hurry to get back into title contention against Fury or Joshua taking a huge risk, because so many rematches are just continuations if done earlier of course with a few exceptions, Joyce must get Zhang respect in the early rounds because on their first fight, Zhang surprisingly overwhelmed Joyce with to many jabs and punches in the first round and it takes a toll on Joyce motivation.
Joyce should turn the tide and have to show something different in the first two rounds Zhang will just go forward and pour everything and this is something Joyce should address.

That jab though of Zhang, it's really devastating to see that landed on Joyce eye and he has no respond on it. He just keep on plodding as if Zhang is putting a trap on Joyce and working throughout the fight until the referee has to stop it.

So in this rematch for sure Joyce has train to move his head a lot, he can't just go square with his face out and then going left to right movement.

I'm expecting a big adjustment here and maybe Joyce winning this rematch and moving forward to maybe a fight with any of the British Heavyweight.

1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 100% win rate possible? on: June 30, 2023, 01:10:12 PM
While I was on section in my account, I was wondering if it is possible for someone to simply have a technique that gets them 100% - 98% win rates.

Knowing the game's pattern, what to bet on and what not to gamble on, the winning and losing numbers, and so on, would I still be able to achieve a 100% win rate?

No, there's no such thing as 100% winning rate, the only time that you can always win is that you cheat casinos and the game itself. Gambling is based on numbers and pure luck, and we all know that not all people have the lady luck on his side.

And if you are winning, then perhaps it's better to stop and not chase big money, just saying. Because as I have said, the numbers can flip anytime and the next time you know it, you are already losing and can't control your self anymore.
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 30, 2023, 11:41:27 AM
Because if only Manny Pacquiao can have the same revenues inside the Philippines, then he could've done that already because aside from having the crowd advantage, he will be no longer needed to adjust in a certain country just to train.

That's a good point. He has to travel to the US to get used to the altitude. Making money abroad though he will be taxed by the US law and back to the Philippines, he will also be taxed. A huge pain in the ass.

By the way, Inoue Naoya By KO is 2.07. Could the odd go to worse like 1.50 as the date approaches? Go big or go home kind of opportunity I think since it always going to be a KO with Inoue but this time he is inflating his weight.

2.07? That's already a huge and very attractive odds though. I don't see it going to 1.50 though, might be just 1.9x or something, but it wouldn't go down that hard as maybe the sports bookies think that Inoue will be having a hard time to knockout the champion.

Fulton went full 12 rounds against the volume punching of Brandon Figueroa and there are moments that I thought that he will go down. But Fulton was able to withstand that power and volume and survived without any damage. And that's why the odds for a knockout is around 2.x and again, attractive odds if we can see the Monster Inoue again.

1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best NFT marketplaces? on: June 30, 2023, 01:20:21 AM
Besides OpenSea and Rarible, do you know of any other NFT marketplaces that are worth exploring? I'm looking for a place where I could find quality NFTs that are worth the long-term investment. ETH-based marketplaces would be fine, as long as there nothing Solana-based. Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

Still OpenSea though, they established the NFT games so most likely everyone is going to their platform. Others say Binance but I haven't explore it that much though. I mean there could be more alternatives out there, but why look for options when we have the best right now?

In any case I read that some exchanges too, like Gate.io has one. But then again, the volume might be too low for you.
1195  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitcoin market is back on track on: June 30, 2023, 01:05:19 AM
Well it already back on track, i think the long wait is over i can now see green candles and btc is above 30k$ again,so there is a possibility that a few months from now we will saw bull season again. This is not far from today because the market is slowly moving upward and we can see a different news that effect the price from dip into bullish let see whats next.
Well I would like to skeptical like everyone else about the bitcoin market today because any bad news can still affect the price of the market like few weeks back when the SEC was fighting one  of the biggest centralized exchange in the world(binance), everyone saw how the market fluctuated and went so down that got people thinking if we are actually heading to another bear season. But today the price is up again due to series of good news around the crypto world and we all hope its stays that way so the much expected bull will be actualize.

At least, we have seen the market is back to it's normal price, I mean before the whole sideways pattern, the market is around this price, $30,000. But suddenly it slowly goes on a decline from April. And in the last couple of months, just boring sideways pattern.

But now it's different, Blackrock has brought hype to the market again and everyone now forget about the SEC case against Binance. That's usually how the market works on a bull run. So maybe this is just a start of that phase and it will be official once we bitcoin holding is completed. And after that, the market is gaining and making huge rally.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 29, 2023, 02:12:00 PM

If we are talking about upset yes it does happen, but if you compare it to Lopez vs Taylor, it's very different. As Taylor admitted after fight that he has issues making the 140 lbs. So in this fight the upset was because of the weight as his body can't take that and so his performance are affected.
That was just an excuse in my opinion. Although he was the favorite to win, it's very clear how Lopez dominated him. Lopez was the stronger fighter in that match. Instead of making excuses, he should accept his losses and consider moving up if he struggles with his weight. He should also give credit to Lopez for performing well.

Nonito is different, though. He doesn't make excuses and continues to fight despite having lost many fights already.

I think Josh Taylor has accepted his defeat already, perhaps he is just giving us what really happen to the fight and why he lost. Unless he is man up enough to accept his defeat. As compare to the Lopez's when Kambosos beat Teo, up to this day they still think that they have won that fight.

And if Donaire losses this fight, then we might attribute it to his age. But if he wins, then we can say that he can still fight at high level and welcoming all challenges for his belt. So it's going to be the same, there are reasons, why boxers think they losses a fight.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 29, 2023, 12:47:40 PM

According to Bivol's camp, they offered too low for their rematch, that's why it didn't happen. So first reason is money. Second, as I have stated, Bivol is with Matchroom and Eddie Hearn, and now Canelo is with PBC and Al Haymon. So we all know that most of the time, boxing politics hinders us boxing fans from seeing great fight and so we might not see a rematch anytime soon.
That's a bad move. Although Canelo is an attraction, it's important to show respect for Bivol, who is the champion and has already defeated him once. A 50/50 split would be reasonable and fair, considering Bivol's current status. Bivol's camp is not asking for a lot; they simply want a fair sharing based on his accomplishments.

And that is why we said that Canelo is ducking Bivol in the rematch, as they deceptively offer a unrealistic amount to Bivol and his camp and they know that they are not going to accept it.

Once it finalized, Canelo sign with PBC leaving Bivol matchup in the table. No 50/50 split of Bivol and then Canelo moving on with a fight against a inactive Charlo for the super Middleweight, very effective move by somewhat deceiving if you are going to look at it. Maybe Charlo is offered 20% here in this fight or just as high as 30% I reckon.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zhang Vs Joyce II WBO Interim World Heavyweight Championship on: June 29, 2023, 11:53:55 AM
These names are quite unfamiliar to me. I only knew a few boxers in the heavyweight division, namely Fury, Joshua, Usyk, and Wilder. However, upon checking, I discovered that Zhang is currently the WBO champion. Now, I'm interested in watching this fight, and I'll begin by watching some of his fight highlights.

Are there any available betting odds for this particular fight yet?

This is just second tier HW fighters, nothing special to them, except that Fury, Joshua, Usyk and Wilder are going to defeat.

Joyce is trying to break into the a fight with either the mentioned name, but he was upset by the Chinese. And so he has to regain what he has lost so obviously he wants to challenge the big man from China a second time around.

First fight is really ugly for Joyce as he was clearly outpointed.
1199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] Which of these Categories of Bitcoiners are Most Bullish? on: June 28, 2023, 12:13:34 PM
On your list, everyone should bullish,

Bitcoin miners - with or without the bull run, miners though are going to make a lot of money.

Bitcoin Core developers - they might be happy to see Bitcoin making another run and hitting all time high and halving proving that Satoshi's design is genuis

Bitcoin institutions(like Microstrategy) - they are going to be bullish as they want to make profits.

Bitcoin Noobs - most likely will have to experience it the first time and for sure they are going to love what they see if we reach ATH.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 28, 2023, 11:35:19 AM

Now, fighting with another young aspiring fighter, let see if how Donaire will try his best to reclaim the title
after Inoue vacated the belt.

Yes, he is the favorite in this fight based on experience and the tools and we have seen Donaire somewhat dominating this division. But Inoue is the king of 118 lbs obviously and Nonito is the second best. But since Inoue has move up, then perhaps Nonito can get back and claim his belt back.

We will see if he can still show the fans why he once dominated this division before Inoue take the belt from him.

Surely it will be an anticipated fight from his loyal fans and with the expectations of winning this upcoming fight, we will
see if Donaire can still bring that same performance and bring the same outcome against a much younger and an aspiring
fighter who is also dreaming to reach his time on being a champ.

No matter what angle I try to see it, I always see some chances that this Alejandro Santiago will win the fight because apart from he's much younger, he is also more agile and that makes him in-par with the current Donaire and if he is durable enough to eat Donaire's punches then I guess that will be a good gauge that he can definitely bring the fight in his favor.

It's just fair though, I mean he is the younger fighter here, so definitely in paper he looks good as he might have the advantage. And we will have to see Donaire coming off from that huge lost to Inoue. We will have to see if he still can put up a good fight and can pull the trigger.

Of course, I'm with Donaire on this fight because aside from we came from the same country, I'm also his fan since I took interest in watching boxing fights. But I just cannot deny that after seeing the Lopez vs Taylor fight, it gives me a different perspective about the reality of this match.

If we are talking about upset yes it does happen, but if you compare it to Lopez vs Taylor, it's very different. As Taylor admitted after fight that he has issues making the 140 lbs. So in this fight the upset was because of the weight as his body can't take that and so his performance are affected.
