121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is the right Name to use? on: May 18, 2024, 04:07:35 PM
I would go with Bitcoiner, I got used being called that way or crypto earner, I don't really care much about it.
For me it is all the same, we are earning in crypto or working with crypto currency, that's all that matter to me, I don't care what other people thinks or call me, I am earning no matter what they say.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swap crypto or sell first then buy? on: May 17, 2024, 10:10:09 PM
Swap could save up the transaction fee if you just want to get it at the current price or in a rush, but if you want to play with your crypto by trading then trade what you are holding now into USDT then set up a buy order to the alt that you want, this way you could manage the entry price that you like, ( the only disadvantage is when the price goes up and didn't meet your buy order limit).
I prefer to swap rather than trade if I just want to hold another coin to save up from transaction fee from trading to USDT and buying the new alt that I want to hold.
123  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 17, 2024, 08:28:56 PM

it really matters when you plan of how long you are going to stay in a certain place. if you have a kid and you give importance to his childhood friends and that he could have a life long friends, i guess buying would be better for he can have a place to call a home town.

if you are just in the place where you are called because you have a job. i think its best to just let your kids visit from time to time and just rent a place when you know you won't be staying for a long time.
Yes, I agree we should consider how long do we plan to stay there, if it is the place where we want our kids or family to grow, then it is better to buy instead of renting out, at least it would be under your name, and you could renovate or redecorate it however you want.
Buying a house would also secure our place when we want to retire or start our own business.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ? on: May 17, 2024, 05:43:07 PM
How much would a person need in order to retire?
I think the people who could retire from their gambling winnings are those who won the lottery, but even for those people they need to manage their funds well.
There are so many people who once had a great fortune or been a millionaire, but ended up losing it all due to their fund management.
If you couldn't handle your money well even if it is a million you would just lose it.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are more people getting excited about memecoins? on: May 17, 2024, 05:27:16 PM
I think people are getting excited on meme coins because of the recent hype that it had, some meme coins give a huge profit for their holders or investors.
I've also got some from PEPE and DOGE, would love to experience or try it again although I know that this meme coins are too risky.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: May 17, 2024, 04:55:49 PM
It has been a couple of months now since OP created this thread and started crypto investing in crypto, I wonder how it is right now did OP continue to invest ( add up more), hold the first investment or did OP already sold it when the price hits a new ATH.
But this really made us remember the good old days when we were just starting on our crypto journey, I was really proud and happy back then everytime that I would earn even a small amount.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasoning before investing can save you from lose on: May 17, 2024, 03:59:11 PM
All investor should learn that not every investment could give them profit, don't just jump in whenever they can, they should also be aware of the risk of investment.
There are so many new investor in crypto that likes to jump in because they want to be an early investors and get some bonus, they should be read carefully and be wise where to invest in.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 17, 2024, 12:51:18 PM
I don't really think that it would help much, we have sex education to prevent teenage pregnancy, smoking and other drugs as well is also being talked at schools so they wouldn't use it, but look around, there are still so many teenager who are getting pregnant, smoking and doing drugs,so I don't really think that it would prevent the teens from staying out of gambling.
If we really want to stop the teens from gambling, it should start at home not from the school, their parents or who are living with them should be the first to talk about it have a conversation, know why they are gambling or why they would gamble in the future so that they could prevent it.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in a newly project is worth it or not ? on: May 16, 2024, 11:22:20 PM
Investing in new project specially when they aren't listed in any trading site is like gambling, you could either win big when they hit it or kiss your money good bye, and keep the coin as a remembrance.
I would only invest in new project when they are being listed in exchange or trading site, but on their initial offering I already had some bad experience on it, don't want to keep on adding up or making the same mistake.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 16, 2024, 10:12:47 PM
To me i think there are some part of the world that still don't know anything about Bitcoin, because there are people in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, China, etc. even in Nigeria there are people that don't know anything about Bitcoin, they always think that Bitcoin is a scam, but people that know about it are making thousand of Dollars,($) I think they don't know that we are in a digital world now.
Surely there are still some place or people who doesn't know Bitcoin or crypto.
And for sure those who doesn't know it, would think that it is a scam or fake, I know some people who didn't even believe it back in 2015 when I introduced it to them because they think that it was just a joke since it is a coin that have such value and worst part is it is only in the internet, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are still some people who doesn't fully understand crypto or Bitcoin and thinks that it is a scam.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When investing in Bitcoin: what to consider? on: May 16, 2024, 08:30:11 PM
We have different opinion about Bitcoin so why bother what others or critics think of it?
They don't see it as a currency then move on we don't need to force them to see it that way, we have been using it however we want (payment option or investment tool).
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: May 16, 2024, 05:43:29 PM
I have been thinking about making money in cryptocurrency, but I'm hesitant to try because I don't want to get scammed i.e. didn't get any rewards for the effort I spent. I'm really curious with the current hype in 2024 and how much you've make from it? I know that scam is inevitable in altcoins, so I might be looking to earn with less risk.

What I know the current hypes in 2024 are:
1. Testnet airdrop
2. Meme coins

What about NFT or ordinals? but I think it's really risky because it's non fungible and you can't make sure people will buy your token.
What about P2E games? I haven't hear it anymore.

Probably I missed other hypes or if you know the another way of making money, feel free to comment. Wink
I am earning in crypto through: airdrop, trading altcoins, staking and P2E games.
Those are my source of income in crypto this year hoping to try out other things like NFT trading in the future, not really sure if it is still profitable, but I guess it would depend on the NFT that I would choose.
133  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why people itself let their leaders to manipulate with them ? on: May 16, 2024, 05:28:51 PM
For me they get manipulated because of two reason, it is either they are ignorant or they are afraid of the power so even if they know that they are being manipulated they wouldn't do anything.
We also have those people who couldn't decide on their own so they let other people dictates them, or be easily swayed by the people around them, those people would act or think depending on who are around them.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will altcoins fly? on: May 16, 2024, 03:28:46 PM
No one knows how high crypto would fly, it is even hard to predict the movement of altcoins if they would pump up or drop down.
But I don't think that they would be left behind when Bitcoin fly high again.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: May 16, 2024, 12:52:05 PM
Every day, thousands of dollars enter or leave the treasury of casinos, and we always hear about a gambler who wins or loses a large sum of money.

The thing that caught my attention is that the casino never loses. The money that you win is not the property of the casino, but of another player. The casino is in the process of recycling the money that the players have invested. There is always a winner and a loser, and when you bet with an amount of money, you bet against the money of all the other players. If you win, they will pay you from their money, and if someone else wins, they will pay himBTCBTC from your money.

So the casino remains the biggest beneficiary, right?
Of course the house would always win and gain profit.
Do you think that they would continue if they aren't getting profit from it?
And I agree with how you explain it, the winners get their money from those who lose, and the remaining money from those who lose would go to the house or casino.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your slices Luck that would have made you millionaire in gambling? on: May 15, 2024, 11:42:58 PM
I've come across this several times but most times I feel maybe I've enemies, fighting me not to survive in life but i noticed that it's a game of luck. First one day I predict a game earlier this week the odds were perfect for it to enter. My games were going so well i stake $1000 then total refunds it was about $10,000 i kept on praying in my mind, it was just one game for me remaining then all of a sudden i fell asleep on the process. While I wake up to check my game the last game ended me up with a cry 😭, i took the risk cause a friend of mine took the same risk now he his a millionaire because of one slice luck made him who he his today. And what I understand is that if you really want to be a millionaire through gambling, you only have to increase in your amount that you stake the higher the amount the richer you can in a minutes. I don't know for yours, what's yours?
The higher the amount you risk the easier for you to go down too, learn to control your emotion and your funds.
Don't be too greedy just because someone else is doing it and winning it, doesn't mean we could all do it too.
They hit a big amount of money when they win, but think about the other side of it what if they lose?
Only risk what you could afford to lose, being millionaire through gambling? how much would their capital be to make it happen?
You should set up a realistic expectation base on your capital.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: May 15, 2024, 10:12:51 PM
For me I don't consider it as a necessity but want, we could continue to live without investment.
It is for those who wants it, those who wants to have a better future, have an extra income even if they aren't doing anything, those who wants to have a better lifestyle.
We don't need to force people to start on their investment journey it is up to them if they want to, it wouldn't always be about profit, they should also be aware of the risk when it comes to investment.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When is it right to invest in Bitcoin? on: May 15, 2024, 08:30:20 PM
-When is it the right time to invest in bitcon?
For me, this question couldn't be answered unless the person who is asking would also tell us their plan after investment, if it is just for a short term or long term.
And if it is for long term then you are accumulating by continues investment.
For short term it would depend on the market movement or price chart.
-How can one start planning?
For me they need to know how much they could put in it, they need to plan how much of their salary or earnings would go to this investment, and that amount shouldn't affect their life or how they currently live.
-How do you follow up your bitcoin investment and other businesses?
I don't have a business so I only have my crypto investment and regular job, I keep track of my crypto investment through a portfolio on mobile app.

139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think that government can stop Bitcoin? on: May 15, 2024, 05:43:23 PM
Bitcoin has been around for so many years, so many countries has been against it, banning it, being called scam, ponzi scheme and many more.
But it is still with us, doesn't that answer the question already? or it isn't enough proof for others to believe in it?
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I returned my father's property to my father through Bitcoin investment. on: May 15, 2024, 05:23:00 PM
It feels great whenever I read or hear about successful stories specially when crypto is involve in it.
We know that this things could really happen specially to those who HODL, there are so many great stories about it and how crypto change their life.
I even know some people who manage to buy or build their dream house and even car because of cryptocurrency, this is also the reason why I keep on investing in it.
Hopefully one day I could also share my achievement with the help of crypto.
