182  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODLers, When Will You Sell? on: December 28, 2023, 01:38:44 PM
I really admire people capable of keeping bitcoins in their wallets for years without even moving them. I see wallets that their owners never moved coins from for 10 years and wonder how they do it. If you're a HODLer. when do you hope to sell? Would you cash out if Bitcoin soars to $100,000 or sit back and wait until it gets to a million?

ONLY for HODLers please. PLease share when you'll be happy to sell.
We don't even know if those wallet are considered as lost, or their owner already forgot it.
I guess some of them who could resist on not selling or taking their profit for a long period of time are those who really doesn't need the money, or those who are already rich and got nothing to do that is why they keep on holding it.
If I also happen to have that kind of money surely I would just keep on holding my crypto, and I would just sell some when I needed.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are there any bitcoin faucets nowadays !! on: December 27, 2023, 06:29:38 PM
There are still some faucets out there, but I don't think that it is still worth it to use in order to gain Bitcoin.
Faucets give out small amount and needs to be visited on certain times, I don't really think that you would gain much from it even if you use most of them right now.
It is better to invest small amount than to wait for those faucets.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Too Expensive For Me. on: December 27, 2023, 01:46:48 PM
The value of Bitcoin has gradually reached great heights. It has become impossible for a new small investor like me to invest in Bitcoin. I am a very small investor. $2k wealth is mine. Well does Bitcoin provide any opportunity in future that I can invest.
You don't need to buy a whole Bitcoin if you want to invest on it, you could buy small fraction of it.
You could also try alt-coin if you really want to invest in crypto currency.
The way I see it crypto doesn't really care if you're a big or small time investor any investment counts and it could change a thing.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 26, 2023, 09:26:25 PM
Shorting your play time in gambling is the best strategy in gambling, apart from knowing how to manage your bankroll, don't spend too much time on a casino game, the longer the time you spent the more you lose, this is the truth that many gamblers won't accept at first until they realize it later.

For them it's about your addiction, and that's what brings in more money, and I am here to announce to you that time fixation is also a good way in gambling, spending 20 minutes in casino a day is better than someone who spend 1 hour.

1. Have a amount limit you can risk on gambling every week.

2. Choose your favourite day in a week for gambling.

3. Have a time count down when gambling, to avoid spending too much time.

Go back home or close your laptop once your time is up, and wait for the coming day, go back to your daily life and business, chase your goals using your business and invest more money on assets.

Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

Nope I disagree with this, the amount of time doesn't really affect it, for me it is the amount that counts.
You could spend less time but play with a higher amount, or you could spend more hours but spend less if you just want to enjoy.
It sounds like a superstition, for me it isn't really the amount of time but the amount of money that you spend which could lead or be the reason why they would call you a gambling addict.

187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 25, 2023, 04:07:08 PM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?
For me if you we would base it on your story, there is no reason to not to allow that person to gamble since he is working and doesn't disturb other gamblers on the area.
He might be having some personal problem and gambling might be his way to stay sane, but if you are talking about those people who are making some scenes on gambling house then yes they should be ban.
The way he acted base on your story is pretty much normal, it is just the way he looks that makes you think that he is mentally unstable.

189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: December 23, 2023, 08:44:35 PM
Nope, those streamers or influencer that promotes casino and shows how easy to win doesn't really encourage or have any effect on me.
For me I see them something like an artist promoting an unknown crypto, we all know those artist sometimes gets paid to promote the project and have almost zero knowledge to crypto.
For me those influencer are similar to those artist, they don't really know what they are promoting they are just enjoying the first round win on new gambling sites that has been established.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 22, 2023, 09:29:51 PM
I'm confused and looking for answers

If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?

How would you judge someone who says they don't gamble because it's fun, is that a sign of a gambling addiction?

If you are making $600 a day, that's $20000 in a month, and because you are only you start having interest to gamble, what do you think this is?

All these questions is been asked because someone close said all these and I think he are losing money and losing himself too, of all the discussions we had, these are the points I held unto.

Later he open up to have been using $500 for gambling per day, he said all these started when his wife left him, that he isn't into gambling at all, but I can't ask why his wife left him in the first place, but does loneliness make people become addicted to gambling or it's something else.
I think he is depress and found a way to at least continue his life by gambling, everyone has their own way to cope up when their down or at their lowest point in life.
Maybe he needs other form of activity to make his life better or find other things that would keep him busy.
Hang out with friends or have a walk to clear up his mind, exercise and try to build a better future for his own.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: December 22, 2023, 05:53:26 PM
If you don't have enough money to gamble and sustain your needs then it is something that you couldn't pull off.
The way I see it making a living from gambling or trading needs a huge amount of capital because we all know that we wouldn't always get a profit from it, we couldn't guarantee a consistent income from it.
There would always be a time that we would lose or couldn't make anything from it.
We are discouraging others to gamble or trade because not everyone is cut off to be in that profession or consider it as their main job.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your view on this? Is it fun or addiction? on: December 21, 2023, 09:26:23 PM
So in weekends in my departmental WhatsApp group, we just randomly talk about soccer bets and sometimes drop a particular game and keep it open for correct score prediction to be made on it, and the first person with the correct score goes home with a data subscription, this has been going on for almost two years now and people have gotten used to it without knowing it.

This is one of the chat I just bumped into by one of us in the group chat and at this point I feel most of my friend have made it compulsory to always gamble every weekend.

Do you see this as addiction or just catching of fun?

Mind you, we just enjoy the moment and might just joke around with people making predictions based on the teams,  they love but we are mostly gamblers at our different ends.

For me this is already an addiction specially if you are already taking a loan or debt just to continue on playing.
If it is just for fun people wouldn't overspend and only gamble what they could afford to lose, they also wouldn't consider taking debt or loan just to continue.
For me when someone is already willing to take a loan or debt just to continue what they want then it is already an addiction.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risk management and responsible gaming on: December 21, 2023, 01:45:18 PM
Responsible gambling is not the same as responsible gaming. You can play game to gamble but you can also play game not to gamble.

Governments and several organisations work to encourage responsible gaming. This involves establishing betting restrictions, offering support to those who think they have a gambling problem, and participating in self-exclusion programmes.
Your post is just like a conclusion and does not worth it at all.

Just take note that the government do not care. It is you that will go for the option of self exclusion, not the government that will do that for you. And the best way you can help yourself is to discipline yourself.

If you go to Africa, Asia, South America and many other countries, you will see that gambling is more regulated in a way that tax are collected to the government, also in other countries, but some countries still regulate gambling more than the way some other countries do.
I agree gambling addiction and gaming addiction are different.
But any addiction could be cured if you would help yourself, it is always up to you to make the change.
Because no matter how many chance you get to change or stop your addiction it is useless unless you really want to stop.
Changed always comes from ourself others might help you change, but it is up to you if you really want to stop your addiction or be consumed by it.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: December 20, 2023, 11:46:15 PM
It always starts when they couldn't control their emotions or greed, they would surely come back and risk more once they experience a huge win.
It is always the thirst that would drive someone back even if they could ruin their life, I am not just implying on gambling but also in other things as well.
Once they get the pleasure or experience something that they like, they would surely comeback for more it is always the start of addiction.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has gambling ever whispered you with different strategic prediction measures? on: December 20, 2023, 06:05:55 PM
This reminds me of the time that I would start a crash game and lock my phone screen then wait a couple secs to see the result.
Before I would start it I would wait for any sign or whatever, and I believe that it really works back then.
I only stop doing it when I played other gambling games and enjoy watching the process of winning rather than just waiting for the result.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 19, 2023, 11:05:08 PM
This is not just in gambling but also in investment, we should always remember to only risk what we could afford.
No matter how great we believe that we would gain profit from something, never risk what you could afford or take loans just to have a bigger capital and profit.
Even in business most of the small time business owners take loan to start of,  just imagine if the business didn't work out then they would just be in debt, only few could pull it of and be successful.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 19, 2023, 01:41:02 PM
Both of them is fun, it's just that adding bet or getting money involve makes it more exciting.
People would enjoy watching the sports that they like with or without bet, for me betting on sports is a form of support for your favorite team.
But it would be different for each of us, there are others who would prefer to just watch to enjoy it cause they don't want to be so excited, they just want to enjoy and focus on watching rather than thinking about their bet while watching.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prove me wrong: Gambling is both more relaxing and entertaining than trading! on: December 18, 2023, 05:55:49 PM
For me it is thrilling and entertaining it was never been relaxing since it makes me excited.
There are times that it would relieve my stress, or would make me feel better.
Gambling was a form of entertainment for me, it is like online games but more thrilling and excitement due to money being involve.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 18, 2023, 02:02:21 AM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.
I think the reason behind it is that they understand financial management more than the poor, and they aren't too greedy they know when to quit and take profit or loss.
For me it is not about rich or poor, those who could manage their own greed and stop when they needed are the ones who could win most of the time.
And also it might be that the rich could just hide the fact that they lost in gambling, while the poor couldn't since they lost more than they could.
There are some rich people who had destroyed their life by gambling or their uncontrolled greed.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Security is important in Bitcoin on: December 16, 2023, 10:29:18 PM
For me not just in Bitcoin but everything that would involve our money, banks, online wallets and even exchanges or trading sites.
Without security we are just risking our money by putting it on to their system, we need to secure our asset or money.
It is hard for me to trust some online wallet specially if their system has already been breached before that cost their customers to lost their money, but we should also be responsible to secure our accounts.
