401  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is ageing and old people part of bitcoin? on: March 12, 2023, 08:51:51 PM
Parents that are of age, what do we think about then? Do you think they're eligible and learned to learn about bitcoin? Talking about ageing parents of 70, 80, and 90s. Looking at the current world parents don't like their children to be exposed to internet maybe because of their past experience of scam threats or they've trade something similar to bitcoin in the past.

Do you think our ageing parents are into crypto investment or trading? Some of them are sound and intelligent and they can comfortable operates their tabs while relaxing. If they're probably into crypto why are some of them advising their children to diseased from internet?

Let's see brilliant opinion
There is no age requirement when it comes to crypto I know some people who are on those year that you've mention, and they are earning pretty well in crypto.
If you are a parent you would also know why most of us are advising our kids to stay away as much as they could to the internet so that they could live a normal life.
We experience a lot of things before the internet we enjoyed our younger years playing and having physical activities not just playing games while sitting the whole day.
We want our kids to have physical activity so that they wouldn't get sick because of being couch potato.
402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will (probably) go lower. on: March 12, 2023, 05:33:12 PM
So many FUD coming out these days so I am certain that it would really go lower.
I am waiting for it to happen and saving up to buy some when it reach the price that I am setting for.
I am trying to cut some unnecessary expenses just to save up for this one and I know that it would all be worth it.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? on: March 11, 2023, 10:54:28 PM
It depends on what kind of alt-coins we are talking about?
Because I don't really mind investing on some alt-coins, it is just that most of the newest alt-coins tends to fall easily and it is too risky that is why I am avoiding it.
Those are like high risk high return kind of investment, If I would risk my money I want it to be on the ones that has already been tested and had proven from time to time that they could withstand the crypto storms.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Life After 10 years in Bitcoin... on: March 11, 2023, 09:11:08 PM
A lot of things already happened to me and I didn't know that it has laready been that long.
To be honest I experienced a lot of things because of crypto, my first investment, first time losing my money on investment, and also first time earning from my investments.
Cryptocurrency had changed my life it also open ups and let me learn a lot of things through those experiences.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 11, 2023, 06:15:42 PM
Gambling is for the strong and sturdy.
I got this caption based on what happened when I visited an old friend of mine as it's been long since we saw, and so, after a little time out together with random discussions I discovered a sudden change in his mood while we're still chatting. With a steady look on his phone in his hands for about a minute or more as he scrolled up and down the phone screen repeatedly he shrouded his shoulders with a simultaneous regrettable look all over his face.
I took the phone from him only to learn that my friend has been calculating the whole series of losses he has made from all the bets he has placed from one of the gambling site he patronize. He had made a multiples of losses in almost all the games he had placed bet on  right from the start of this year, even to the current bet of that very day.

But then he asked me' bro assuming I had gathered all these money I have lost through gambling and channeled it into some sort of a little business or project, wouldn't it have been better!  At that moment I never knew the exact word to give to him as I never expected such deep a question, for the least I replied him was "hmm I can't really say".

With this, I wondered if other person's here in the forum that are into gambling too has at any point in time thought or felt that way, particularly when the losses are becoming overwhelming. And in that case, should such person stop gambling and rather divert such monies into something else since he/she ain't making corresponding wins or more, checking his bet history, Or he should carry on with hopes that winnings will start creeping in someday gradually?
To be honest I also felt it before when I was gambling.
If I accumulated all of it and just invest it on crypto or hold it instead of gambling it, I could have saved up some money, to spend on aomething much more important.
That is also the reason why I keep on creating new accounts back then when I want to gamble so I couldn't back track all of the money that I gamble, cause I know that if I would compute it or look back to it I would just regret it if I would ever lose.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused. on: March 09, 2023, 03:22:41 PM
It has always been confusing to those who doesn't know how crypto or Bitcoin really works.
Most of the newbie's that had talked to me thought that Bitcoin was Ponzi scheme investment and asked how much profit am I getting per week or month.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling using chip in money? on: March 08, 2023, 11:04:03 PM
I had a friend who saw me gamble before and enjoyed it and saw how much profit I got from those games, then he insisted that I should play with his money and I told him so many times that it is better if he would play it on his own so he tried a couple of game before handing it over to me.
When I played with his money I was slowly winning then I joke around that we should go all in and he told me to do it and we end up losing on that exact round.
It felt like the site was only making us win at small bets and waiting for us to go all in.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel selling your BTC against your plans? on: March 08, 2023, 06:37:50 PM
I always feel mad or sad it is mixed emotion but when I sell my crypto I accept that I really needs to let it go, because when I sell my crypto it just means that I don't have any choice left.
I wouldn't sell my crypto if there is another choice for me, I want to keep them as much as I could.
It is nice to know that I am not the only who feels that they are selling their crypto against their plan or will.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time is the most valuable thing on: March 08, 2023, 11:58:50 AM
I have lived most of my life working all day, the only free day I have is on Sundays, whenever I promised my cousins a visit on holidays I always fail, I have no time to go on holidays and I always end up making less money, with all the hard work.

Many people are into crypto for materialistic things, like cars, houses, etc but the best Gift I have attained from Bitcoin investment is free time, to live my life, finally.

Bitcoin investment makes me feel alive once again, after so many years of a nonstop workaholic life, now I have enough time to think, travel, rest, go on holidays, spend time with families and still make more money than I used to when I was a workaholic.

Now I can do everything I have always wanted, time is not on anyone's side and if you spend all your days on some hard jobs working and working you won't notice how fast time is running and you will age so fast in the process.

I remember I got so sick after going from one job to another, I ended up spending a lot of money on my health, I got so thing and my immune system got drained too, you might end up making millions and spending half of that to get back in shape, always remember, health is wealth.

Whatever you do, make sure you live your life like someone who is truly alive and breathing, if you are in any hard jobs that's draining your life away right in front of your eye, you need to put a stop to it.

I want all the good flashy things in life but the best gift I have now is free time, and Bitcoin makes this possible, I don't know about others and I can't talk for others but, to me, Bitcoin is Freedom.
Well we can't argue with that TIME is the most valuable thing but other's can't see it or appreciate it.
Without time those money that we earn are just for bills and we can't enjoy our life.
Crypto has given us a chance to earn on our own, to make money on our own time our own schedule.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many crypto wallets do you own? on: March 08, 2023, 12:25:38 AM
Since we are talking about crypto wallet not just Bitcoin then I have a couple of wallets that I use.
For example the one that I used for storing my crypto for a long term, and the wallet that I use for small transactions or regular transactions.
I also have some wallet for different plat forms.

412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: March 02, 2023, 01:15:09 PM
Gambling, like everything that surrounds us, does not exist by itself, they exist because it is natural for a person to try his luck, but if it goes so far that the player is completely immersed in them, then of course others looking at him will say "perhaps gambling is really bad if they bring it to this". However, there are moments in life, you can have fun and at the same time get the opportunity to win while in an online casino or at a slot machine, but this does not mean that gambling is good. It's like a weapon with which it's nice to spend time in a shooting range or on a shooting range, but when a war starts, no one says that weapons are to blame for this.
It is how you explained it and for me it is really accurate.
Gambling doesn't exist by itself those who surrounds it are the ones keeping it alive.
And it is true we could see it in both good and bad ways it would ony depends on how we use it or see it.
Some peope tend to gamble to relax have fun, while other's are doing it out of their addiction which destroys their own life.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: February 28, 2023, 01:24:03 PM
If you were told the outcome of a soccer match, hours before the match was scheduled, and you were assured that it would 100% win, how much would you be willing to bet on it? Assuming it was a 100% can’t lose situation.

Assuming you had millions of dollars that you could put on the match, where would you place the bets? Bookies often limit players. How could one successfully place millions of dollars in bets without drawing up suspicions or having their money frozen? Just curious.
Since it is a 100% win then I would max out my bet as much as I could.
Every bookie has their limit's so if you want to max out your Bet you should register it to several bookie to be able to bet the Million dollar that you have.
But hypothetically if it was me I wouldn't really trust that there is a 100% chance of winning on all sorts of games and sports specially if those are official match.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your reasons for holding bitcoins? on: February 26, 2023, 11:08:50 PM
I heard people keep saying don't sell when the price rise a little, or when it starts dropping! I don't get, why are you holding it for long? As long as am concerns is just a matter what you want, long term or short term. Bitcoin is not your Goldsmith or some banks you build at home that you can control anytime you like.

To me bitcoin is there to gives you money when you're satisfied to take the money or take your if can't wait when is dropping. I can't hold for too long is personal or I will never take investment in a short is till personal.

Whether you hold or not what will happen in bitcoin will still happens, is good to hold but too long hell no, because am not the future, future is expectations real life is in the present.

My questions is people keeping bitcoin for too long and begins to hear story?
What's the secret that's different from taking profit?
Is that long term bitcoin don't experience losses?
Those words are for those who wants to maximize their profit.
It is true that no matter what you do sell it or hold it the market would still move as it please, But those who sell early tends to regret it when the price keeps on increasing.
And for long term Bitcoin Holder we couldn't tell if they also experienced losses since they are holding it we could only consider it loss when they cut it, even if your down right now if you're still holding it there is still a chance that it could turn around when the price starts to fly.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is your reason for gifting bitcoin on: February 26, 2023, 08:55:32 PM
If $300 worth of bitcoin is given to someone who doesn't have a job and have been looking for opportunity to invest in bitcoin.  Will it be possible for the person to focus on this investment without selling at the moment because of the present financial situation. I'm asking this question because of people who wish to gift bitcoin to people who are going through difficult financial challenge,  is there any need to give bitcoin as gift to people who need money to settle urgent financial problems.

Or bitcoin should only be given to those who can truly invest and yield profits.  Can you gift bitcoin to random people who may not make profit from it.
To be honest when you mention that the person who would receive it are jobless how do you think that they could focus on investment when they are already struggling to survive?
Only those who have enough could focus on investment but if you don't have a job or source of income even if you have an investment on crypto it would just be spent up little by little because of your basic needs.
416  Other / Off-topic / Re: You will forever be missed on: February 26, 2023, 07:14:49 PM
There is nothing more painful than losing someone that supports you through and through.

Not long ago, I lose my father (74 years old), it's been 3 weeks now, he was the reason why I was able to confidently continue my crypto journey with no hurry, he has never for once told me that I am wasting my time, I remember one morning in 2018, he called me and told me about a podcast he listened to on the radio, he said they talked about Bitcoin on the radio and this makes it very important.

He said, do not give up, who knows? This could be the next big thing in the future. And his favorite quote is " this Life doesn't wait for anyone, things evolves very fast" ... I am able to be who I am today because of my father, while many people have a different story about their spouse when it comes to Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, mine was different and very supportive.

The only regret I have is, not being able to take good care of my Bitcoin Father, I feel like I never did enough for him at all, he will forever be missed.

If you have families that support you on your journey, even when they don't entirely understand, consider yourself lucky and take good care of them before it's too late.

And for those who don't have any supporters, do not blame them, older people find Bitcoin very confusing.
My condolences, I somehow can relate to your story, my father was also the reason why I could and I had my crypto journey, he supports me back then didn't pressure me to seek for a regular job back when I was starting in crypto and believes that I wasn't wasting my time on it.
I remember him buying me my first laptop so that I could focus on crypto and didn't need to rent or go to any internet cafe.
417  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do You Feel Less Safe? on: February 25, 2023, 11:41:38 PM
I'm still not sure if someday i wake up, all my funds could have all gone..

It seems to me that you are naturally insecure. In my case I don't feel insecure with what I have in bitcoin because from what I understand the probability of it being stolen from my HW is so small that it's practically impossible, and I haven't sold my house to buy bitcoin and keep it in the HW either. I mean, if my bitcoin were stolen I would be fucked but I would not starve to death. I don't know if in your case you sold everything to put it in bitcoin and that's why you are so worried.

I agree with this, I don't feel uneasy because I trust the wallet that I am using and I don't invest or risk more than what I could afford.
Try to use Hardware wallets if you feel unsafe to the current wallet that you are using.
For me it is much safer to keep my money on crypto rather than bank, I think there are more incidents of hacking some bank accounts rather than crypto, of course those who aren't aware or doesn't know how to keep their wallets safe are prone to hacking.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching teenagers about bitcoin. on: February 24, 2023, 10:45:56 PM
I think my life would changed a lot if crypto was introduced to me back when I was a student.
I could have spend my time on crypto and earn instead of just playing around in computer on my free time and spending my money on games.
I know some students who earn a lot and changed their life through the help of crypto.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Life's first investment in Bitcoin by selling bicycles on: February 24, 2023, 06:32:36 PM
an event that everyone experiences when they first buy bitcoin. the main thing is that we must be able to maintain mental stability to deal with price fluctuations, when you have already invested, my advice is to learn more about bitcoin, so you know what you should do to make a profit. for me you are right to choose bitcoin, not a new altcoin, so there is no need to worry about the money invested, as long as you can be patient
Well congratulation on your first investment, I hope that it would be worth it for you OP.
And it is true what Xampeuu have mention you should be prepared for all of the things that could happen in crypto.
You already experienced the downfall of the market so just hold on and wait for the Bull to run and enjoy the profit.
420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Risks to take in marriage on: February 23, 2023, 10:48:42 PM
We all want a good relationship with our spouses or soulmates too .

So what are the risks we should take
1 _when a marriage is about falling ,think about the kids and how divorce will make things wrong and difficult for them
I have grown up as a young girl and has never leaved with both parents till last year when I started living with my dad ,don't you think I might have gone through alot ?? Without both parents by my side ,

If you wanna give your kids the best in life you have to endure certain attitude Ms from both ur wife/husband ,when a home is seperated only one parent can't be able to take care of all the kids even if there is supplus money and second wife or husband ,when a single mother is set to take care of all the kids because she cought her husband cheating or what have you , she leaves ,she can't be fanacially stable to take care of all ,what if na 25 kids what's gonna happen?? The kids will start sleeping outside to care for them own selves ,how can a mother of 25 take such abilities all to her self Huh

More to talk about ,let's talk
There are times that it is better to be separated than to continue on holding on to it, for example those who constantly fight in front of their kids, I am not just talking about physical but also verbal.
It is draining both physical and mental for both of you then you should learn to take some rest and think if it would still be worth it to continue or is it better to just stop it.
And for those who choose to be single parents you should also know how to communicate with your ex for your kids sake.
