441  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: February 10, 2023, 01:16:05 PM
Without a steady source of income how do you think that their Family could survive?
Even if you have a huge amount of money if your not using it wisely to have an income it would just drain up from all the food and bills for your family.
I've been there and done that it doesn't really work out unless you would have a passive or steady source of income.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 10, 2023, 11:20:58 AM
I want to ask a question. And I need serious answer from this forum, and my question is WHY DOES A GAMBLER DON'T HAVE A SAVINGS.
In my country (Nigeria) there are many gamblers who don't have savings and it isn't help matters at all. Most of these gamblers can't afford for there families but they can afford money they will use to gamble. So why are they not having savings that they can use to help there families in time of lack. Like they said, we save money so money can save us tomorrow. But these gamblers doesn't know that.
Isn't it obvious? They prioritize their gambling addiction more than anything?
They might be aware of it but their addiction is too strong for them to control.
This is a typical stories of a gambling addict most of the time they would just destroy or hurt their families and it would be too late for them to realize it, and it is not only their family that is being destroyed here it is also their life.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 06:53:12 PM
Many times we are in a situation and we do not not realize the intensity of the problem. One such case is compulsive gambling. In simple words, it means that you are unable to control the urge to get involved with gambling even after understanding the potential harms associated with it.

Here are some signs of compulsive gambling :

1) Gambling related thoughts are always in your mind even when you are working on other activities

2) You keep increasing the gambling related money with each game

3) You try to gamble more in attempt to recover loss

4) Ignoring other important work like job just for gambling

Would you like to add to these signs ? Have you ever found yourself trapped in this situation and how did you get rid of this ?
1, 3 and 4 has been a sign on me when I was an active Gambler.
I got rid of it when I was on a relationship my partner was the one who changed me.
I focus more on something that is more important and beneficial to both of us.
444  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 09, 2023, 01:11:02 PM
Saving isn't wasted when you spend it on the things that you need.
Just think about it if you didn't have any savings and you need money for your school activities or something then it would be problematic for you.
Sometimes we feel that it is wasted because we keep on spending it on some emergency cases, and for you as a student I know how it feel I've been there and I know that those emergency payment for school could be shouldered by our parents, but think about it we are helping them by paying it pn our own.
By the way as a student there are so many opportunities for you to hustle, I once was paid for creating reports, project, research and even assignments for my classmates.
445  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 08, 2023, 11:30:05 PM

I have been in a job I detested and although I somehow managed to stay at it for up to 4 years, I didn't even for once let go of my passionate hobby and other passive streams of income I was interested in at the time.
Today, one of my passive interests pays more than my salary. My mind has been yearning for a resignation, but opinions of others and family bears the message of patience with the job I so much detest for reasons ranging from inflation to fear of the unknown.

If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?

If you could do both of it and you are also happy with your job or enjoy some time with your colleagues then why would you even need to think about it?
But if you are having a hard time from your job or being stressed due to your workmates then I think it is better to quit and focus on the job that makes you happy.
446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 08, 2023, 06:55:12 PM
As many of you may have read my previous posts and know that I used to accept crypto in my business. I was waiting for a Bitcoin payment to happen because all others were in alts. I used to convert them to BTC. No big deal there. But recently I am facing some issue with this.

I had to stop accepting Bitcoin/ Crypto payments because Cryptocurrency is not legal here anymore. It was in a gray area for quite some reason, but recently the law department is making their move by putting crypto in a black area, thus declaring it illegal.

I don't wanna wind up in some illegal affairs, so I put a halt in the crypto payment section. From my point of view, this is the best option I am left with right now.  I have no idea when will I be able to continue, or will I ever be able to continue again. And this whole thing is not because of any complaint from the police or anything like that. I am doing this for my own safety and to continue with my business. They are putting people in jail if they know we possess crypto.

So it's a personal thing for me. I can still continue if I wish to, but that doesn't seem like the wise decision. So let's hear what you guys want to say. Give me some advice from your personal experiences.

For me it is wise to stop accepting crypto for your business it isn't worth the risk at all.
Don't risk your business if crypto is illegal in your country then stop connecting it to your business.
You might just lose both if you continue to accept it and the worst part is it would ruin your name or business.
447  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you marry your current spouse again? on: February 08, 2023, 01:15:25 PM
Some religions believe there is life after death. Others believe in reincarnation, having the hope that you would come back to the world after death. Do you also think that you would be happy if your ex-husband or wife comes back? The increase in the rate of divorce is making me think that people are no longer happy in marriage. In my religion (Christianity), we believe in life after death but there would be no marriage in heaven or hell.

My question now is that for those that are or were married, would you love to marry your husband or wife in the afterlife? Do you think you would be happy and comfortable with your spouse if you come back to the world after death? Would be happy to remarry your ex-spouse?
You chose to be with your partner you vow for your marriage so I think it is obvious,
We should know that in reality it isn't always going to be romantic or be happy all the time.
You should be aware of it, you just need to remember why did you chose her/him to be your partner? What did you see yourself with when you plan your marriage.
448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 07, 2023, 01:13:01 PM
bitcoin can Crashed again Below $20K Level or Not ?

Everything could happen in crypto you should be well aware of it, and if you want to invest so much in crypto you should do some research first.
And if you have done it you should know that no matter how high the price is, it could always go back down.

suggest please I can bear some Loss but Can,t afford 100% loss
Even newbies know how to lessen their loss so how could you have a 100% loss?

waiting for all expert members suggestion?
I am not an expert but it is always the same when it comes to investment "DYOR" and invest only what you could afford to lose.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin? on: February 07, 2023, 02:46:27 AM
If we want crypto currency to be a currency we have to keep spending right? But at the same time it's something worth keeping too since I do the same with my fiat in bank for more than 2years without touching it. Is it possible to say that Bitcoin in every wallets for the past 2years without moving are considered lost due to death or lost recovery keys? It's pretty hard to believe that anyone won't come back for their Bitcoin after 2years with no activities on the wallet.
I think there are some people who just want to sit their crypto investment for a long term.
I mean we can't be sure that all of those unmoved Bitcoins are actually lost.
I am really curious on how many lost Bitcoin are really out there but I guess we couldn't really know that for sure.
450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do not waste your time on: February 06, 2023, 01:08:46 PM
Spend time on things or activities that will change your life positively. Arrange your finance, invest and save wisely.
Stop wasting your time on Social media solely to view and comment on pictures only.
 Invest in something today
It is true you should spend your time wisely,
But on the other hand you should also take care of your health learn to relax.
People tend to spend time on social media to relax because of their stress due to work.
Not everyone spending their time on social media are wasting their time some are battling their stress through it.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to earn with your idle bitcoin (if there is a way anymore?) on: February 06, 2023, 11:11:46 AM
Anything related about generate more Bitcoin by staking is a complete scam because Bitcoin isn't Proof of Stake, so you're just trusting your money with stranger that anytime can become a scammer or get hacked. Wrapped Bitcoin is a fake Bitcoin, any Bitcoin run in other network is also a fake Bitcoin.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the title,
You could only earn while with your idle crypto if it is staking or POS.
I tried POS tokens before but sad to say the POS token that I've invested are new projects at that time and they are just being hyped for a short period of time,
So to cut the story short I've lost money from those investment.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I decided to buy some fractions of BTC after discussion with members here on: February 06, 2023, 01:21:42 AM
How i started my Bitcoin holding journey

I strongly believe those from same country with me will understand the images i posted here clearly. Due to some security reasons i have to blank the account details of the seller on the images below

I understand how it's when trying to spread the max adoption of bitcoin without being a partaker of it or even having at least some fractions of bitcoin. Sometimes last year, which was 29th November 2022, I tried asking around the forum on the best way to teach and reach out to people about bitcoin without going through face to face discussion with them. Although, I made mention of not holding any bitcoin then, along the line majority of comments and reply on the thread I created advised me to buy and hold bitcoin, which for me it will sets as an a good example before I could possibly talk to people about bitcoin.

After much readings here and also getting some guidelines, I decided to at least purchased a bitcoin 0.001848BTC worth 33k in our Nigerian Naira. This action was propelled due to some advise given to me from my previous thread and I have decided to act smartly as they said. I think now I have fully become a member and also a bitcoiner.
Above pictures shows fully of the process and procedure though it wasn't easy with me along the line using binance p2p.

I have had lots of people saying about Bullrun, hope i have not missed the whole process to be among

Today being 2nd of February 2023 can never be forgotten.
Thank you all.
You decided to jump because of strangers telling you to jump?
Although I am happy for your decision to invest in Bitcoin or crypto,
I think you should also understand the risk  on your investment and, don't take everything seriously you invested because a lot of people are saying bullrun so what if it isn't a bull run?
What if the price drop down would you blame the forum member who talks about bull run and told you to invest on it?
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you interested in bitcoin? on: February 05, 2023, 09:22:41 PM
Because I'm still a beginner here, and still don't know much about bitcoin. So, I want to learn more about bitcoin from you guys. I want to ask you guys. Why are you interested in investing in bitcoin?
Financial Freedom, anonymity and somehow I feel proud or something when I hear great news about crypto, like even though I am only an investor I feel like I am part of something big.
I believe on it and for me it is better than letting my money sit on bank account.
454  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to Sustain a new year resolution on: February 04, 2023, 11:24:56 PM
For me I would just remind myself why I set up those resolution.
To be honest I didn't have any new year resolution but when Feb enter's there was a certain thing that I want to change on my self.
And I lost the motivation to do it but today I started working on my goal to change my life, and whenever I feel like being lazy again I would just remind my self why I want to change and why I needed it.
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Heading Back To $23,000? on: February 04, 2023, 08:29:47 PM
It is now resting around $23K and for me it seems that it is slowly trying to climb higher.
Some are saying that we are now on Bull Market, but is it going to stay or is it just another one of those price increase before a huge fall again?
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos Want you to Gamble Responsibly on: February 04, 2023, 06:57:36 PM
I don't believe online casinos enjoy seeing a gambler lose money. I'd like to believe that they only want responsible gamblers to patronize them. They believe they have a moral obligation to present some suggestions for responsible gambling to the general population. It is also logical to believe that if they could assess visitors for gambling addiction, those who failed the test would be banned from signing up. Because they can't, they've created a section of their website with guidelines for responsible gambling. So, even if the house always wins, which is good for their business, it is your responsibility to bet responsibly.

The following are some of the responsible gambling guidelines I found on Livecasino.io, Duelbits, TrustDice, and others. They all have the same idea.

Quote
- Treat your betting and gaming as a form of entertainment and only use money that you have set aside for your entertainment.
- Do not bet or wager amounts larger than you are comfortable with.
- Do not bet or wager with money you cannot afford to lose.
- Do not chase your losses.
- Do not let your betting and/or gaming take up time that you would usually spend on other activities.

 Any thoughts?
I think they just want to survive in the long run that is why they are reminding their gambler to be a responsible gambler.
For me it is all just a business if the gambler lost too much on them and started bad mouthing their website it could affect their future clients, plus they would lose those who are constantly losing too much money on their site.
I think they just want the gambler to be responsible so that it could keep on coming back to them.
P.S it is only my opinion about this topic and how I see it.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big money bad for bitcoin in the long run on: February 04, 2023, 04:38:36 PM
As bitcoin continues on its current bullish path, all kinds of people are trying to ride this wave by buying any cheap coins they can get their hands on as they anticipate the next High to come. But the scary part about this is that Big money is also flowing into the crypto economy that will push price to easily register new highs, but this comes at a price, when these whales decide to take out their money.. markets bleed red which is why Big money is not good if volatility is to be controlled. In the long run Bitcoin is better off without the Big money, otherwise this becomes like a pyramid scheme always leaving the last man standing with empty pockets as the first guy to make a move gets all the accumulated $$$$.

What's the community's take on this?
I see your point and I also have the same idea before that those who are pumping or investing a huge amount while the price is low would pull out when the price gets high,
But I found out that it doesn't really matter if they suddenly decides to pull out as long as there are people who are also eager to buy in on the time that those whale decides to sell.
The market would bleed if mahority of the investor's decide the same thing or they follow that wave but what if they counter it and instead of selling people would buy in?
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are not friendly physical? on: February 04, 2023, 03:28:02 PM
I was very happy  to joined bitcointalk. org November 7 2020, but I came to discovered one thing in the community that is making me wondering, if bitcoiners don't trust themselves by seeing themselves face to face like the way church members or Muslim members love themselves by seeing themselves face to face after the service. Going to three years now, am trying to see some of the bitcoiners in my area to discuss with them how to join hands together to promote Bitcoin in the society but they said they prefer discussing it online than see each other physical.
Are they ashame to be a bitcoiners? or they are among the people that think Bitcoin is a scam?
Why Bitcoin users are afraid of see each other physical?
It is not that we are ashemed of being a crypto earner,
It is the Fact that even if Bitcoin is not a scam if there is a crypto related scam people would think that you are a scammer without knowing the truth.
And also the fact that it would just drain us for promoting it physically because after we promote it only few would really stay in crypto,
So why waste time when you could do it online and have so many social media friends who could see your post rather than doing it face to face and only few people would come?
459  Economy / Speculation / Re: My fear in fall of Bitcoin. on: February 03, 2023, 11:06:48 PM
Cause Bitcoin is determined by the number of people in the digital market. Just like the higher the number of people that purchase Bitcoin the lower it's price and for it price to go higher it requires some Bitcoin investors, traders and miner's to withdraw some percentage of their Bitcoin.

? ? ? What. I think the only part I understood was the first half of the second sentence. How does more people buying bitcoin lower the price? That's literally the opposite of what should happen in theory.
Yes I thought that I was the only one who got confused on the post.
I fear on OP's investment plans and how he/she handle it, OP I hope that you would find someone who coud guide you thoroughly about how trading works before investing.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are good at using the most hyped utility on: February 03, 2023, 06:48:47 PM
Of course scammers would use anything that they could in order to earn that is what they do for a living.
It is our job as an investor to know which one is real and which projects are fake.
Most of the time they are successful due to the investor's greed, they would try to imitate the successful or trendy projects with a lower entry price so that the newbie's would jump on them.
