121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dascoin Big Scam on: December 23, 2023, 11:59:28 PM
Who else invested in Dascoin which some scammers promoted as the next Bitcoin Grin Grin Grin . I was stupid to accept their lies those days. I am new to Crypto I had no idea
A costly lesson to learn, and I hope this will not happen again in the future.

The concept of the project is a scam to me, ehh next to Bitcoin?  Sounds not good.
This isn't new in most scam projects, we heard a lot of projects trying to be next to Bitcoin but they end up crashing bringing investors money.

Now you've realized that no one can replace Bitcoin, you should give full support to that coin, not those shitcoins.

At some point, someone need to learn their lesson because with such lesson, they will now be cautious of their next investment.
Such claim have been said countless times before. But I do understand that they can still victimize newbies in this market.
But at least, now that the OP is here, he can learn a lot in this forum and hopefully, won't fall anymore from these fraudsters.
This is the reason why a lot have negative perception on this market, because once they got burned by scammers, they will say that crypto is fraud, but it is not. It is the people who are fraud not the technology itself. Thus, creating a misconception on this market.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina has officially approved the agreement to legalize the use of Bitcoin on: December 23, 2023, 11:46:44 PM
The newly elected president of Argentina. Prior to the election, he promised the general public in his country that he would legalize Bitcoin in Argentina if elected. Maybe after he gets elected he is using the roundabouts. But it is being word of mouth yet its formality or its legality has not yet been declared on paper by the Argentine government. But since the newly elected president is discussing Bitcoin legalization, maybe Argentina will soon have Bitcoin legalization on paper. If Argentina legalizes Bitcoin, it will surely be good for the people of its country.

Not only for his country, but other countries may find it inspiring and so some will be motivated to follow their path.
Also, this is good for adoption of bitcoin, because it means, more users may be interested to get into this market.
This move will also eradicate some of the doubts of non crypto users that bitcoin is an illegal entity.
It is only the people who are doing illegal or fraudulent things that make this industry seemed so wrong.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Judge orders Craig Wright to pay over $1M on: December 23, 2023, 11:26:14 PM
$1m is too small, he should fine more. Lol. Sigh, this person is not yet done for what he wants that he will never get, ever.
If i'm one of those who support him (which i will never be), i should drop it already lol. It's been a very long time already yet he didn't prove anything, because obviously he is fake.

I am thinking now that he has mental problems and illusion that he is indeed Satoshi.
Because that is true, if he is Satoshi, he can easily access this forum using Satohi's credentials but to no avail.
I don't know his end game here. But definitely, he is seen as idiot/crazy whatever you call it.
I just hope he has the money to pay the fine. Because if his claims are true, then such money is just a penny for him.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Btt staking and buying stradegy on: December 23, 2023, 10:55:19 PM
Thats a strategic move because BTT price is still down from ATH which is $0.00000343 and now the current rate is $0.0000011 whlch mean that still BTT is 200% down. The bull market will push the price and probably very soon hit the ATH when btc reach to 60k$. BTT potential in a bull run especially as a small cap token seems promising here.  Staking is good idea, it will mine for you additional BTT in a smart way to maximize BTT returns. It's interesting to see your focus on a specific low cap coin for long-term investment. Diversification is best and secure in crypto investment but if you've found a gem in BTT, best of luck with your investments!
But since he is Staking maybe he is confident for what will he happening in such term  but I will not take a risk staking in for me a not so safe project/coin there are lot of currencies that I may manage to put my stakes specially a top ranking coins m in which safer but have big potential long term so lets manage our expectation then like what OP does , but respect and see what will come in the next coming time for him.

That's really very big risk he is putting himself into. For a time, I staked BTT as well but that was a long time ago.
I sold it because for one, I couldn't keep up and follow their developments anymore, if there's any.
And I am not seeing progress anymore so hard to determine if the staking is still profitable as it will decline its value thru time if not developed.
The OP should look into other top alts worth staking. But anyway, it is his choice at the end of the day.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: December 23, 2023, 10:02:35 PM
I have to admit that I never heard of this coin before, presale price $400, launching price $40k, ATH in the CMC $221,980.32 and the real price today is $0.1275.

Quote
Zugacoin is a unique brainchild that aims to rebuild Africa's dying economy by becoming Africa's first coin in equity and investment funding for Africa's government instead of China.

Created by Bishop Sam Zuga is the Archbishop of House of Joy Ministry (known as Jehovah Field Marshall) - Well, now I can see why this coin was very expensive at that time.

A simple explanation about zugacoin = this coin has been created to make someone Rich while making millions of others Broke ... as simple as that.

That's what you call a crappy coin. I am sure, the team behind it just hyped up its price when it reached the $221k value.
And that is very true, they manipulated the price in the market screwing a lot of investors for sure.
There's not even reason to compare it with btc. Zuga was a short lived coin created for the mere profits of its owners.
126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fear of December dump is fading away - for Bitcoin on: December 23, 2023, 09:28:16 PM
To be honest with you,  I never expected Bitcoin to drop in price this December,  and rather I have always anticipated the possible increase in the price beyond what we have presently from the market and at such we should not expect what happened the last year or the year before to repeat itself because the Bitcoin market sentiment for both years has been very different,  in 2024 December the price of started appreciating in form of a recovery form and for that we can see the December sell-off having any effect on the price of bitcoin in a negative manner.

I think before the next Bitcoin halving,  it won't be easy for Bitcoin price to drop significantly,  and we may not see much significant price discount so for sure we will be seeing more uptrend movement which will signify a lot of positivity before the next halving and if that becomes the case,  then we may take longer before we see the next Bitcoin all-time price as expected all the while.

The drop is not significant in my opinion. We are still above 40k level. So for me, one should not really be worried about.
The performance of btc this month is still great in my opinion. We should not expect too much steep increase because that's quite alarming.
I believe a lot are still in the buying spree for btc because of the upcoming halving event, as they are seeing it as a good opportunity that it
will further increase either before or after this event.
So the fading of doubt I think is reasonable as there is an upcoming event that we are looking forward to.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: December 23, 2023, 08:35:01 PM
how many of you guys develops interests on a particular casino platform due to the influence of the casinos streamers?

Not literally on me, but referral marketing is one of the mainstream ways for influencers to make money and also one of the most used methods by the casinos to increase the users which means yes it influences people to develop interest just because someone is saying it. This is common method of advertising not just limited to casinos and I don't think I need to prove how people are crazy about someone just because they are fan of that person.

I can say, I am also not influenced by these casino streamers maybe because as we already are here in the forum,
we basically know which casinos and bookies to trust. And so I may watched their stream, but not to the point of believing all what they just showed to the public because we don't know the absolute truth behind such stream.
Do remember, most if not all are being paid by the respective casino they are promoting with. So we don't know exactly what's going behind the curtain of that stream.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 23, 2023, 08:09:14 PM
If the person I am referring to had not gambled in online casinos and invested this amount of money in bitcoins, he would have made a substantial half profit today, even after paying off his debts.
Doing the right thing is not as easy as doing the wrong thing. Gambling is fun, investing in bitcoins is no fun, so you will see more people who will consider gambling faster than they would consider investing in bitcoins. Gambling can also be a way to make quick money, Investment is a slow process. There are many impatient people who cannot wait for their investment to give them profits, so they just choose the fast way which is to gamble their way to profit. It doesn't end up that way for all gamblers, many just like the person in the story in trying to make money from gambling end up running into losses.

These 2 options will give you different results if you handled it in a contained manner especially gambling.
You will enjoy gambling if you are just playing for entertainment and is just using spare money.
But when you start loaning money, that's when you will start to have problems after problems.
And so with investment in btc, if you happen to borrow money and lose in the process, it is the same as gambling.
So if you will venture in these 2 activities, you will have less problems if you are spending the money that you can afford to lose.
129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: STOP! Before you become a prey of a scammer! on: December 23, 2023, 12:09:45 AM
Research is the key. If you want to succeed on crypto and gain decent profits, then establish knowledge and develop certain skills that are highly needed to make you successful. Do not rely on the people you found online that guarantee your success in crypto. Remember, strangers are more likely scammers, they will continue to deceive you until you end up convinced and agree on them. When you do that, you are not losing the opportunity to make you real rich, but you are giving them the big chances to make them rich because of you.

Invest in crypto with caution. But invest in your knowledge first above everything.

The dilemma of most users is that they easily jump on hyped up things for the idea of generating high profits.
So they are forgetting the basic thing of research and at least educate themselves what the project is all about.
Sometimes, they don't even read the project's mission or target objectives anymore, but they only check the charts in a hurry to gain profitss.
You can't understand market performance if you are blind with what's going on behind the project's developments.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which currency do you prefer to use for BTC/LTC/ETH transactions? on: December 22, 2023, 11:25:45 PM
it's simple, if the network is normal, i might prefer to transact using bitcoin compared to litecoin or ethereum, because more people use bitcoin for their transactions. but for the current conditions where fees are very high, i prefer to use litecoin where the fees are much lower than the two cryptos.

The OP's question is indeed very subjective matter as it depends on various factors.
Let us say for example, even if you want to use LTC as they have cheap fees, but the platform you are using don't have LTC but only ETH or BTC, then what would you do?
So even if you have preference on which currency you want to use, sometimes it is the circumstances that will dictate what you need to do.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin portfolio on: December 22, 2023, 10:07:12 PM
You've got an excellent list, and like some people have said, it would be great if you included ETH as it has a higher probability of succeeding.
For my part, I'm considering Matic, ADA XRP, BNB, and SOL as well.

Since you already have a solid investment portfolio, it will be beneficial to examine the coins' historical performance in order to make a better decision. This is because investing involves risk, and knowing how the coins have historically fared can help you speculate on potential profits.

I would also include ETH in the list of my portfolio as this one is a rock solid investment for me as well.
And of course, don't forget the top currency, BTC. For me, btc should not be discarded or forgotten in the list.
And do take note that once you have the list of your holdings, you need to keep up with their progress.
Because missing important events would lead you to possible losses, like the team is about to abandon the project.
132  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I got scammed by whatsapp contact and exchange on: December 22, 2023, 09:15:51 PM
Im not sure if there’s anything you can actually do to get your money back, there have been numerous of thread concerning the same type of scam and yet I haven’t see anyone that was able to get their money back and if you should proceed with the deposit you would only lose more money than what you have already lost…

If you don’t mind me asking, I see that you asked if a site was a scam back then in 2021 and you go response from the community which made you chose a different plan than the initial; my question now is “why didn’t you do the same for this one?” Honestly if you had asked question before you engaged in the first trade you would have saved yourself from this trouble — I’m guessing the first profit really won you over.

The hard truth, the money is gone already. And very little chance of getting it back, even half of it.
I was trying to check the domain registration, but you can't view its details, so high probability that they do have plans of scamming their naive users.
But the OP can move this to scam accusations thread, for other users to be warned about this exchange.
A legit exchange should not ask for more deposit before you can withdraw your money.
Just look at how binance works. You deposit, you trade then withdraw. That's the legit route.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana Leapfrogs XRP as Fifth-Largest Crypto on: December 22, 2023, 08:40:14 PM
There are talks about Solana flipping Ethereum in this bull run. I don't know how's its possible but it'd be interesting to see. The people enjoying this solana run are those that bought solana around $8 per sol. That was a time when even the strongest beliefs of Solana were shaken out.
Not realistic, but we never know what the future has for us! Wink

Ethereum is losing its popularity among retail investors since the switch of PoS from PoW and now there are speculations that ETH may increase the staking validation from 32 to 2048eth so only whales can afford that which may be the point whether people ignore Ethereum and start ustilizing SOL.

Though we can't discard such possibility, but so far, it is still very far from horizon.
For now, I have more confidence in holding ETH for long term than SOL, and I guess, a lot also have the same sentiments.
So we may be seeing great performance of SOL right now, but the extent of usage is still wide for ETH as compared to SOL.
Hence, flipping ETH network is not on the horizon yet. They have a lot to prove in this market as well as cover a lot of usages before toppling ETH.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another year is going to end. Bitcoin isn't dead on: December 22, 2023, 08:00:52 PM
This summary chart presents a fact that less people wanted to call "Bitcoin is dead" with time. It is an unofficial recognition for survival of Bitcoin.
Every year that bitcoin survives, is slap in the face of critics who wish bitcoins bad and are always quick to say that bitcoins will fail.

These little disappointments to the predictions of these critics can change the mind of people who use to believe in them and take everything they say very seriously. Every year the number of believers and investors in bitcoins will increase because each new year is a testimony of the credibility of bitcoins.

We already surpassed a decade of market existence, and so far it is just going stronger.
So the idea that this market is going to be dead is going away as they are seeing that this market is actually proliferating.
And those who called this market as fake, dead or whatever they think bad, will lose their credibility if they won't stop saying negative things towards this market. And the opposite happens.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: December 21, 2023, 11:54:19 PM
The term to be cautious is quite necessary here in the field of crypto space. Especially if you like to invest in crypto holdings because of the upcoming bull or halving.

There is nothing wrong if we are cautious because of course we value every cent that is our capital, and we want to grow our capital by buying a crypto that we think has the capability to produce us earnings in the future.

Those blogs or articles promoting a certain project for sure is getting paid.
Very rare that an article is not biased with their views as most even don't have the idea what they are saying.
Do remember, there are so many bounties for writing an article whenever a new project is launched.
So yeah, better be careful on these write-ups. They can easily have false claims in their articles.
136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Timely Halving Event and Bitcoin ETF a Positive Bombshell on: December 21, 2023, 11:12:27 PM
However, Bitcoin halving events have a weakening effect with each cycle, so Bitcoin ETFs have a larger impact on BTC than "halving" events when accounting for inflows and outflows
I don't agree with this. Bitcoin halving increases the demand for Bitcoin while the supply decreases. This means the price always goes up because more people want it. When a quality product is being sought after in the market it's value appreciates. That is why a lot of people believe we might see another Bitcoin ATH. Bitcoin doesn't need ETF approval to go above 60k before.

The SEC's approval to me will only create a short-term increase in the price of Bitcoin. After the announcement of the approval, there would be a surge because many people will buy, and even people who didn't plan on buying will buy because they will hear a lot of things, but after a while, the price will go down again.

The price of Bitcoin is not why I want Bitcoin ETF approval, I want it because it would boost Bitcoin adoption. It can gain more popularity and more trust.

Either way, both are significant in the growth of bitcoin adoption and its market performance.
Let us be grateful that we have these events that can contribute to its increasing presence in the market.
And with the combination of these two, we will see a very positive impact on its market.
So I won't choose only one, the more events the better, right? Small events or happenings can be vital in this fast growing market.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana just reached $80!!! on: December 21, 2023, 09:39:19 PM
Its connection with FTX and Alameda gives it such a bad reputation that its price dropped to below 20$. That time, I hesitate to buy sol but i think that was a mistake. I should have taken the risk to add some sol to my portfolio. It doesn't matter right now but crossing 1000$ will make it overvalued. The current sol rally came from its airdrop hype and smart phone release, and as long as airdrop farmers get new projects to speculate about, they will leave sol. It can cause a correction but i don't think sol will go below 40$ any more.
Your hesitation was completely understandable. Markets were scary and in desperate times we often would like to see them as hopeless, so we wouldn't need ponder the risk of investing.

But i didn't see this coming this fast. It's $92 now and growing. Avalanche looks explosive too, in fact, so does the whole market. It looks like the perfect storm is coming. Correction might feel bad for some people here. Especially if they are coming in with leverage.

Altcoin season has truly started. Next this will flow into midcaps and then small caps.

This rise should be taken in cautious manner. There's reason why it is getting traction.
But the decline is imminent if the foundation is weak, so you need to dig the reason why they are heading to this direction.
Though SOL is one of the top alts out there but one should not jump on board blindly.
At least do your homework and learn why it is worth putting some of your funds.
138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 20, 2023, 11:07:10 PM
Op is no need to know the percentage of each person portfolios but you can also the diversification of the person's investment. You don't have to know because that is a private affair. And as for me I am only invest in Bitcoin and Eloncoin altcoin. And the two are doing great. Though Eloncoin is just a new project that hit the market recently and it is doing well. Diversification of investment is good and it is also dangerous because altcoins are not reliable. They can disappoint someone at anytime.

Every person has their own take when it comes to investments. As long as you know what you are holding,
and what risks you are taking, it is your own prerogative where to put your hard-earned money.
Diversification is always advisable. It doesn't mean you can only hold crypto, you can also include tangible
assets such as gold jewelry, real-estate, precious metals among others.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anything to worry about if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal? on: December 20, 2023, 10:21:03 PM
To my greatest knowledge apart from this forum you are free to make use of mixers to whatever you feels just that from the announcement, any post relating to mixers won't be allowed or sharing links and directing someone over here to start making use of. You can discuss about mixer outside the forum you have no law but do not relate it to this site again. Any mixer you are planning to used be sure the authority aren't planning to ceased it otherwise whatever trace can be subjected to you as well, so using it is at your own risk.

You are using a mixer for privacy reasons, so I guess, the platform itself is somehow protected if authorities won't dig deeper.
If you think you have nothing to hide, then, no need to be scared of using mixers or better yet, why are you using a mixer in the first place?
Right now, authorities are after for the mixer business because they are suspecting that this platform is being used for laundering money.
So if you believe, there's no need to use a mixer with your transactions, then better use other means. After all, most trading platforms are already requiring KYC.
140  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are we expecting between now and Bitcoin halving? on: December 20, 2023, 10:03:12 PM
First bull run coming up for me and after seeing the price of Bitcoin rally in the last few months particularly it is getting me somewhat excited for what is to come over the next few years.

I am just wondering what we are all expecting between now and the Bitcoin halving in April next year. Is it going to be a steady climb till then or is there usually a crash of some kind?

Well, the impact of halving is quite huge and it obviously helps the price increases. But understanding the market behavior and its volatility, still we can expect some price corrections before and after halving but I believe there are more pumps rather than dumping scenarios. It is too hard to assume but I was predicting that the price of Bitcoin would reach $50,000 before halving, it was not far from the current price and I believe it has a bigger chance to make it.

The adoption today is already very different than before, so the performance of the market might be quite different.
But don't expect too much because we are just waiting for the sentiments of the community.
High likely that it is positive as right now we are already feeling the positive vibes brought by the increase of price.
As the supply of btc is fixed, and the adoption is further increasing, we can surmise that the price will really be heading to upward direction.
