That's correct everyone.  I've updated the original post:

THE ICO has sold out!!  Thank you for your support! Due to community feedback, we have requested Bittrex to open trading at 11am PST.  NOTE: the wallet will not be delivered until the original date of 9/14, but we are striving to deliver earlier as previously stated.  Please note: You will not be able to withdraw.

Thanks again everyone!  I need sleep like the desert needs rain lol.

     Sincerely,

syntaks

I'm disappointed you've decided to do this.  I'd hoped it might be something other than a pump&dump coin, but this will be under ipo prices by midnight PST.

A shame, really.  This coin will have a very hard time of it once it actually does launch with a trail of price downtrends behind it.

lol you just missed out, its a community decision. dev credibility is still intact because he did say he will speak to richiela about it and ofcourse richiela agreed to it too. loving this close bond with dev and bittrex. expect fireworks,

That's the one thing that bothers me the most.  The close bond between dev and bittrex.  I don't trust any of the exchanges so it concerns me when I see this trend towards devs working behind the scenes in close cooperation with the exchanges.  Granted there needed to be cooperation due to the fact that this was an ICO but it's a disturbing trend.  And when the exchange operator vouches for the dev it makes things look a little too cozy.

I put some btc into this based off of the original ANN.  Now after I buy the terms are changed.  I should be able to get a refund but this is cryptocurrency and there are no rules.  Terms can and will be changed at anytime.  And they have in this case. Basically new coins should just state in the ANN "This is just a vague outline, we'll change anything we want when we want" .    Had I know that this was going to be traded before the Sept 14th date I wouldn't have bought any at this time.  This will likely go back to ICO levels soon and then people will start selling at a loss to free up their btc and move on to the next pump and dump.  I was hoping this wasn't going to be like all the rest but it's starting to look that way.

I'm not fudding on the coin or the concept.  I invested in it.  I just think that changing the rules AFTER people have invested based on specific information is wrong.   It's already been pumped to .0002 and dumped to .00014.  It's too bad because it had a potential.  Now it's just another pump and dump which will likely get even worse once the mining starts and miners start dumping daily.  I'm contemplating dumping everything I have for a small profit and just moving on.  I'm sure others feel the same way.  It was a very bad decision to start trading already.  Nobody can move their coins off the exchange so they will just be sitting there and if the value doesn't rise to levels people expect they'll just dump for a small loss if necessary and move on.  You've taken the withdraw to local wallet and hold option out of the equation.  I hope I'm wrong but I've seen this scenario too many times before.

to address some of your points firstly bittrex isn't your small exchanges it has had volumes of 7000btc. if bittrex has been faithful throughout this do you think they care about the amount here. if you can't trust richiela you shouldn't be trading on bittrex at all.

as far as miners are concerned, if you say 2btc is a dump then i think your in the wrong coin and good luck with your investments. secondly you say people can't move coins and people may dump well there is nothing stopping to dump if they were allowed to withdraw. they could simply transfer the coins and sell no big deal. this ain't just another one of your ipo's to make a quick buck ofcourse it can triple or quadruple your investment but hey we have real tech and this is the feature most people are buying it in for off-the-chain #anonymous transactions (transactions are sent anonymously through a secure farm of nodes).

Well I don't care how much volume bittrex does and I don't know richiela so there is no way I could blindly trust him.  Besides, this is crypto.  I don't trust anyone.  Trust will leave you with less btc.  It doesn't matter how faithful you claim bittrex is, it's an exchange and it operates to make a profit which is why there was no problem with starting the trading and collecting trading fee's.

Anyway, if you're happy then fine.  If I'm not then I can still sell what I have for a profit.  But looking at the order book, I would take the price right down to the ICO price if I did.

We'll see how this turns out I guess.

Is this OK ?

No it's not but apparently there is nothing investors that invested based on the information that was initially provided but changed after the ICO sold out can do about it.

Of course Richie agreed to it.  The coin will be exclusively on his exchange until the wallet is released.  There's literally no way to move coins off his exchange.

There was zero reason to rush the start of trading other than people who want to dump within hours. So that's what's going to happen.

It's normal to allow the market to trade after an IPO ends, that doesn't constitute it being a pump and dump. The tech/coin/devs are all solid and if you TRULY believed in the project you would not fear the wolves of crypto regardless. Anyway, sell them early to me and I'll see you at .004

It might be normal but when it is stated in the ANN that trading will start on a certain day then that's the day it should start.  What else in the ANN is going to be changed?  Coin count?  Block size?  Emission rate?    Had I known this was going to happen I wouldn't have invested.

Nobodies talking about forcing anything. We are just shooting the breeze about drk and the good it can do..

Don't get me wrong.  I don't have any issue with legitimate charities and actually donate regularly to a couple that provide assistance to wounded veterans and donate multiple boxes of food to local food banks every year.  It's just a fact that the majority of them are scams.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | DarkSend+ Is Live! on: August 20, 2014, 02:59:39 PM
If you read the latest development update, it says that enforcement testing is going to start soon, and enforcement should occur prior to RC5.

Great!  Because I've already lost one payment due to lack of enforcement and my masternode has only been up for twelve hours.  I was going to set another one up today but it doesn't make any sense to tie up my funds if I don't get the payments I'm supposed to get.  I'm playing by the rules but others are cheating.  It's really frustrating to say the least.
1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | DarkSend+ Is Live! on: August 20, 2014, 02:53:44 PM
Perhaps just give masternodes the option to send 1 out of every x payments to an address administrated by the Darkcoin foundation. These funds would then be distributed between a number of charities that we could vote on. Additionally, such a scheme could be implemented with a % of transaction fees.

Just like many others, I invested in creating a master node.  I'd say I'm about 3k$ in the hole all in all.  The thoughts that I might be forced to give up a portion of my meager income to charity just makes me wanna hurl.  I agree that it should be optional.

I've also read about a "mistaken" DRK insta/pre mine......  Why aren't these funds being used to fund a charity.....or set up MNs with the sole purpose of donating their proceeds to charity?

Forget that!  I'll shut down my masternode and sell the DRK if I'm forced to contribute to some charity that likely spends mere pennies on the dollar on actual charitable work while the rest goes towards salaries and perks for those running the charity.  Most charities are nothing but scams.

So I received another masternode payment.  That's two in a little over six hours.  What's troubles me is that I should have gotten three payments if it wasn't for this guy not paying the 20% masternode fee.  http://explorer.darkcoin.io/block/0000000000086eadb80ad08b5d7ff75891abbad0a7040a2fbf1d4c82cf1a0727.  He's not paying any fee's http://explorer.darkcoin.io/address/Xqi4JGoYQsKy2uyxyA3nuR1vrJi474jnJj  It really ticks me off that I didn't get my payment.  Something needs to be done about this.  It's costing me money.  Ironic isn't it?

So what's the status on enforcement?  The lack of it is costing me money because I'm not getting all my masternode payments due to non-compliant entities refusing to pay the 20% fee.  Something needs to be done about this ASAP.
1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | DarkSend+ Is Live! on: August 20, 2014, 09:11:29 AM
Your saying that deflation causes a currency to collapse. Id say this is wrong.

No, I didn't say that.

I said it's role changes from a monetary one to a utility one. In other words instead of investing in a potential cryptocurrency that sees adoption across many sectors of the economy, you're investing in a business with a fiat revenue stream.

The problem I see with that is not that it isn't potentially a successful revenue stream but that it changes the nature of the 'product' and makes it far easier for competitors to replicate.

Again, utility value and monetary value to NOT add. They are mutually exclusive roles in any economy. You don't add value to a monetary medium by giving it utility value - rather the utility value diminishes the monetary value by making it less efficient in a monetary role.

Fundamentals got stronger.

Blood in the streets.

If you had the balls to buy, you made a fucking ton of money the last 48 hours.

Yes indeed

I like this decreasing amount of MN for now. Today I got my MN payments record so far Smiley not in quantity of coins but in voting quantity. Cool.
Evan Duffield what are the news we are all hungry of your words.

Well I'm going to increase the masternode count.  I figure the best way to know if things are working is if I get down in the trenches myself.  I can't rely on the information from this thread or the other darkcoin thread.  So I'm going to have a look see for myself.  Setting up a masternode in the next 24 hours.  Here's my coins:

I figure what the heck.  I made enough off of drk today for a couple masternodes  but one is enough for now.  Can't wait to see my first payments start rolling in.  Now should be a good time to get in.  Less masternodes = more drk for each one.  Is that correct?

Edit:

Going to anonymize my coins now.

Well I got a masternode setup after getting home tonight.  I got my first payment less than an hour after it was up and running.  I used one of the guides on darkcointalk and the process was extremely simple.  I was thinking about either setting up another MN or two but I might lock in some profit.  DRK is more than double what I bought back in for so I'll likely pull my initial investment out at a minimum.  It's amazing how things can change in just one day.

1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereal inspired by Ethereum: Future is here. on: August 19, 2014, 07:10:01 PM
After the discussion with my colleagues, we have decided to remove this announcement because we don't want any negative publicity for our project. No payment will be accepted after this post. Now our project will go ahead with funding from private investors and our coin will be available for public trading after further developments is done.We thought it might be good to get investments from crypto community rather than private investors but we were wrong because these days this is not the right way to do it.  After your valued reviews we have also decided to change the name of our project as we also have many more plans for this project, more than Ethereum. We thought it may be a good idea to name our project after Ethereum as we have plans to provide all the services which Ethereum will provide but at cheaper rates. Our team is very excited about this project, so we don't want anything to harm our efforts.

Thanks all for the feedback.

But what about my btc?
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereal inspired by Ethereum: Future is here. on: August 19, 2014, 06:26:50 PM
All opinions are welcome. Thanks

I believe in this project and have sent you 15 btc to secure a share in this fabulous opportunity.  Even though I am a firm believer in using escrow, I trust you with my btc because I can tell from your posts that you are an honorable individual.  I look forward to the future as we orbit the moon once this project becomes reality.  It's rare that an opportunity like this presents itself and I feel fortunate to be here and get involved at its birth.

I sent the btc from a wallet on my computer at home and I am currently in transit and using my cell phone to make this post.  As soon as I return home I will get the transaction details for the 15 btc and pm them to you immediately.

FINALLY, about 2 days too late.

Edit: I just checked Kristov's twitter feed and realise the above is a BS post.

It's on Facebook?

YES
he posted that on a question regarding DRK prices
in Crypto currency collectors club
Why didn't he tweet it and release his review?!? Unbelievable.

That's just sad. If he has done the review, he should have released it.

Hmm

Not good

And I was just in the process of setting up a masternode.  Hope I don't get caught with my britches below my knees.

Interesting results so far:

You can vote here if you're interested: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=744585.new#new

I'm too torn to vote...... I like free speech, but that also requires people to control themselves and not feed them there trolls.  Because it's the backlash and anger those trolls bring out that causes the real trouble.

Yes it's a really tough question.  One part of me wants to protect the Darkcoin brand, another part of me thinks freedom of speech is important.

I think the results show you're not the only one torn...

It's like watching SouthPark. A part of me would like to think about this but the other part of me just wants to laugh at you for not beeing able to form an opinion while speaking about freedom. Smiley

Janos, that's a Hungarian name.  I'm half Hungarian ;p

Possible eruption developing under the glacier in Iceland.

Could be the cause of DRK's recent dip.

"DRK's recent dip"? You sir are a master in the art of understatement. That's like calling the Great Depression the Little Dipper.

All crypto's have had major dips...least we forget the high and low of BTC....its fall from December makes Darkcoins fall look like child play, $1200-$380 at one point today.  We are all aware here so lets paint every coin with the same brush.   I mean should we pull up the BTC Trading charts over the last 5 years?  I guessed not.  Lets be productive and find ways guys to make crypto relevant in the real world!

Comparing DRK to BTC

After predicting the DRK price implosion just weeks ago (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg8073765#msg8073765), I have another prediction to make. I take no pleasure in saying this but I hope that those who didn't take my advice before will listen this time and save themselves some money. DRK will never again approach its previous price. The reason is that it does not provide an attractive practical solution for those who seek anonymity (relative to BTC used in conjunction with mixers). Even if it does function perfectly on a technical level, the fact remains that moving BTC into DRK generally requires dealing with an exchange that will be forced to compromise privacy as the result of increased regulations. And once you have your DRK, where are you going to spend it? There is no DRK ecosystem to speak of. BTC has hundreds of millions being invested into an infrastructure to stimulate mass adoption. If you truly wanted to be anonymous, wouldn't you want to be lost in the crowd along with regular consumers as opposed to being potentially linked to a currency inadvertently branded as the go-to solution for drug dealers, paedophiles, and tax-dodgers? In front of a jury, what's more incriminating: evidence that you had a BTC wallet on your computer like everybody else including your aunt Bertha...or that you had a sinisterly-named DarkCoin Wallet on there? I would short DRK if I knew how but I have zero skin in the game. Save yourself some serious grief and at the very least don't dump more of your hard-earned money into this.

Shh

Logic is frowned upon in this thread.
