Next update that fixes connection issues and resource exhaustion coming soon.

Great! Thank you if you're in the team behind OB. It's a fantastic project, with huge potential, but it still needs work. I guess developers shall prioritize work related to ease of connection and stability issues over those over design, or personalization options.
1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen's AMA on 8btc 21th April on: April 15, 2016, 02:52:32 PM
That guy is a joke!

If he is, so is BTC. M.Andersen has been the public face of BTC for many years, and he's probably the most respected BTC developer, only behind the unknown Satoshi. Sometimes, I wish he would still be in charge, there would be less of the governance problems BTC's going through.
1283  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslim "refugee" welfare parasites - 91.4% on food stamps, 68.3% on cash welfare on: April 13, 2016, 07:56:45 PM
Welfare parasites? I like the idea but I don't see how anyone on welfare isn't a parasite. We shall put an end to all welfare programs, then we'll see if there will as many refugees coming. Borders would suddenly become useless. Only the adventurous would move abroad, and those people (yes, I'm one of them) have never needed welfare.

yeah....without welfare, borders would suddenly become useless...a true nugget of wisdom....

How about you tell that to all the tax dodgers uncovered by the Panama papers, they're the true welfare parasites.

Hey, think that if there were no welfare, they would be much, much less tax. So there would no need to to put your money abroad. Tax dodgers? They are heroes trying to save some money from the oppressive hands of Big Brother regimes like there is in the UK or Russia.

"No response was received from the server. It may be unreachable or taking a very long time to respond."

It's failing to start once again. You know, this is annoying. I understand I'm not at home, and that my connection isn't great, but I've just accessed Poloniex via Tor, so OB should work as well...

OB does not work over Tor.

Huh I know that. My point is that Tor, which is well known to be slow, works better than OB. And that is disappointing. I guess something can be done. You can help BTC by running a node on your home computer. Is there something similar which can help OB become successful?

The software's again failing to launch.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Billboard Trolls Trump's Wall! on: April 13, 2016, 07:27:28 PM
It's not about the physical wall , this is about Trump's project to stop all remittance between US and Mexico, but I don't think it could be done. Money has flowing freely for more than a century, and they are regulations not even a president can change.
1286  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Illegal things to buy!! on: April 13, 2016, 07:23:31 PM
So there was a transaction of .25 BTC yesterday at 11PM between wallet X and wallet Y. So dare you suggest it was illegal? It was aunt Arnie sending some money to little Tommy so he could buy books to perform better at school. So many bad mouth people... There's never been anything illegal sold or bought with BTC. Don't believe what they say on TV.

1288  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Dirty Bomb on: April 12, 2016, 07:25:22 PM
I don't like the idea of a dirty bomb because that implies there could be a clean one. But the real laughable part are that the biggest opponents to nuclear proliferation are the ones who have thousands of them. So we should be afraid of IS getting an atomic bomb, but we shall sleep if Trump has the button to the world's largest arsenal in his hand?

1290  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Why aren’t we earning enough to live?" – The Divide lays bare global inequality on: April 12, 2016, 07:10:23 PM
So what's wrong? Ive never understood how some people have the belief that men are a superior species, with the right to everything they please on the planet, and that they should be entitled to a nice house, a beautiful car, and a good standard of living. If the people shown in that documentary don't like their lives, they're millions who are willing to exchange their lives with them. In Bulgaria, minimum wage is $300 per month. In Ethiopia, there's no such thing as minimum wage, but people are happy to work 48 hours per week to get $100 at the end of the month, and they live in a place that a American wouldn't call a house, without running water.

How about India? I guess it's the country where the economical divide is the largest.
1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Divorce: A Match Made in Heaven? on: April 11, 2016, 06:23:13 PM
It's a pretty sad way to use BTC but I'm not surprised. If you can use BTC to hide money from governments, you can also use it to hide money from your wife.

You tell your wife you've lost money playing poker with friends, but you buy BTC anonymously via Localbitcoins instead...
(Those who didn't know how to do it can send me a tip. I've always been good at hiding money.)

Bad advice! Sorry to point it out, but Windows is the most successful OS on the planet by far, so if OB wants to be successful as well, it needs to work perfectly on Windows. Pleasing Windows users is more important than pleasing Mac users.

No it isn't. Using Windows for almost anything is unwise for all sorts of other reasons, too many to list, and those reasons are unlikely ever to change not in Microsoft's interest). Window's dominance of the market is not what I would call a success, and comments like only serve to continue the entrenchment.
Looks pretty successful to me Undecided
...
If it matters, less than 2% of laptops/desktops use Linux (so ~1 in 100 computers runs Ubuntu).

...

But let's agree to disagree, if ignoring ~90% of potential userbase to minimize the market share is the objective, OB should focus on stable CP/M implementations.

That's what I meant. It doesn't matter that Windows is good or bad, or that using it wise or unwise. What matters is that of all computers which will be sold this year, probably ~85% will come with Windows. No one running an online store can ignore Windows users.
1293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ? on: April 10, 2016, 05:00:47 PM
I tried, but it didn't work... But I've just launched it, and I'm pleased to see that OB is working today. But I haven't understood why it wasn't working yesterday. Hey, if I want to use OB for business, I need 100% reliability.

Try using Linux or Mac, Windows (and the way the other apps you have installed on your PC manifest themselves with Windows) is likely making any early problems with OB much worse than they really are. Microsoft have always had a bad record with supervising different bits of software to play nice with one another.

1294  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is your political ideology? on: April 10, 2016, 04:52:37 PM
Thanks, but I already know too well what I stand for. No need to make tests. I'll probably make the server explode, just like Homer Simpson testing the lie detector.
Then you must make sure the CIA isn't behind this test, recording IPs of anyone replying.
1295  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America can afford a universal basic income on: April 10, 2016, 04:48:32 PM
Germany has unrestricted social welfare since 1960 i think.
It is not completely different - if you dont find work or cant work you get social welfare.

And germany still exist today like other countries with similar systems.

It's not only Germany. I think all western European countries have some kind of a free-for-all basic income. That's how terrorists manage to survive. All the Arabs in Belgium and France plotting to bomb the country, they're all living on welfare. I believe they are more than 20 millions people on the dole in Europe right now. Possibly more.
1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ? on: April 09, 2016, 01:43:15 PM
Damned thing! It seems I can't even close the software without being connected, which I'm unable to do. There's that full width nav bar on top of the window, but there's nothing on it. I'll have to close it via the Windows' task manager.

Is this still a beta release?

close it from taskbar.

I tried, but it didn't work... But I've just launched it, and I'm pleased to see that OB is working today. But I haven't understood why it wasn't working yesterday. Hey, if I want to use OB for business, I need 100% reliability. I wonder how OB will compete against Ethereum.

I guess success will come from users, if there are enough people offering interesting products or services. Could it be possible to build a new Silk Road market out of OB?
1297  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America can afford a universal basic income on: April 09, 2016, 01:30:28 PM
How about universal death penalty to those who can't support themselves?
I suggest to open all borders, to delete all regulations against free movement of people anywhere on Earth, but with instant death, as the government will be fully entitled to shot dead anyone of working age unable to make a living? I could live in a world like this, but this is only a stupid idea, like the one of a universal basic income.
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: fivver marketplace accepts bitcoin! on: April 09, 2016, 01:25:47 PM
Yes, very old news, but maybe it's worth remembering. I don't know if someone makes an updated list of all web services which accept BTC, but Fiverr should be on the top of that list. I'm a regular Fiverr user, and I've been paying with BTC for what seems a long time.
1299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can we see bitcoin money transfer store in near future? on: April 09, 2016, 01:22:25 PM
Coffee shops? How about banks? I've been dreaming for years to buy BTC at a bank or a change store. Nearly every month, I buy or sell Swiss francs, Hungarian forints, British pounds or some other currency. It would just be immensely convenient if I could buy or sell BTC at those same places.
