1361  Other / Off-topic / Re: How I quit my smartphone addiction and really started living on: April 25, 2017, 12:54:03 PM
Now even funny just to look at photos of the old phone. I can't understand how you can voluntarily give up modern technology. I don't use all the features of my smartphone, but the features that I use very making it any easier.

Dude, we have been getting by without smartphone for the greater part of human history. Hell, electricity for that matter. I'm of the opposite mind, I don't understand why the average person actually needs a cell phone. They would be better off with a dumb phone and a laptoo, or in some cases, just a landline.

My generation was the last born before smartphone were so unique, however. They don't hold an appeal/familiarity with me.
1362  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Artificial intelligence. on: April 24, 2017, 11:01:59 PM
I'm with both hands for the idea of maximum automatization of routine work operations. But people must work to avoid depression and bad mood. But why must we work for a 8-12 hours a day? We already have intelligent and efficient machines that make food and clothes in enough quantity. We have problem in society organization, we do not need terminators, except of working in uranium mines.

I like the efficiency that automation brings, but I will admit it will be a hard adjustment as our economy switches over.to a mostly automated paradigm. There will be at least 2 generations that have an 'adjustment' period while we sort of out, and we would really need to look at instituting a universal income (something I don't think the GOP would ever allow, but timesay change). As far as terminators, I see no reason why artificial intelligence would ever attack us. People fight.for limited resources; machines can eat sunlight. Sunlight is quite free, hence no need for conflict, ever, unless we blot out the sun with pollution.

That I think of it., this is the reason why the Machines were using humans as batteries in the Matrix, we had managed to deprive ourselves of sunlight.
1363  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea Nuclear Missiles Bad Quality - What To Do, If They Fail During Test on: April 24, 2017, 08:52:45 PM
According to Wikipedia, North Korea have around 35 nuclear missiles with range up to 3000 km, see link here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korea#Military. I think North Korea manufacturing quality is much lower than Chinese, so nuclear missiles bad quality can lead to wrong direction during test flights. What will do US warships in the region, if North Korea missile go in wrong direction because of manufacturing mistake ?

Blow them the fuck up. They are sovereign, but we are too, so, let's exercise that sovereignty. No civilians, just remove the launcher and the surrounding three miles of earth .
1364  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Political Party To Use Cryptocurrency To Train Candidates For Elections on: April 22, 2017, 11:14:32 PM
Russian political party Party of Growth has recently announced the launch of a new Blockchain-based system, called "People of Growth", and their own cryptocurrency, called “Upcoin”. For the first time, Blockchain technology becomes the organizational basis for a political party.

The Party of Growth is now preparing its candidates for the municipal elections in Moscow this year. Candidates from the party will also receive a loan in Upcoins that they can use for training on the specialized courses.

The full article: https://coinidol.com/political-party-to-use-cryptocurrency/

What do you think about using cryptocurrencies in politics?
cryptocurrencies in politics?.NOT GOOD ..
Why so easy to manipulate..<WHALES do it all the time.

Like Btc could never become a currency because to many whales so just like the cash rich we will have the btc rich BOTH WILL STILL ACT THE SAME..ASS HOLES Cheesy

Agree..unless this blockchain is purely for record keeping, and the tokens don't have value, this is a poor idea. These markets are too small, too easy to swing. That would be absolutely dangerous if it influenced the outcome of a vote..
1365  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: April 22, 2017, 02:07:41 PM
.....
Let me.cite a bit for the sake of ease:

December 2016 CIA report....

Problem is, you are not citing anything but the content of an alleged report. You are not citing the report. I'm not even sure it matters if you were.

Everyone's aware that the Demos have obsessively harped on the "Russian angle."

Everyone will agree that the Wikileaks releases, showing the true nature of Hillary and her criminal associates, influenced the election.

But nobody has to agree that the material was given to Wikileaks by the Russians. There does not seem to be evidence for that. You seem to think "someone said it says so in a CIA report" is evidence. It isn't.

I personally find Julian Assauge's story about where the material came from more believable.

Dude, wake the fuck up, man.

I cited Wikipedia, that was clearly stated.

And man, this shit isn't alleged, this is an intelligence report produced by your country. You can not accept the shit, but that does not make it go away. You are free to take the word of an enemy of the state over all intelligence agencies in your country, it speaks to your intellectual stubbornness. I'm not making this shit up. These are the unfortunate facts, I don't want to deal with this shit as much as you.

Remove your fingers from your ears, Spendulus.

Is the entire Intelligence community Democratic?/
1366  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who was the most generous sponsor of the inauguration of the Trump on: April 22, 2017, 01:59:22 PM
Looks like the establishment really want to have a presidential puppet.
We'll see how it will affect the politics for the next few months.

There's nothing "establishment" about Donald Trump or his supporters. Although, he's now starting to give in to the Republican establishment bullshit he campaigned that he'd reject.

Oh common... $500,000 is around half of the amount that Hillary Clinton charges for a 1-hour "speech". Also, remember that Trump is worth almost $5 billion. This amount is less than 0.01% of his wealth.

Now, Hillary is someone who WAS an establishment puppet...and to whomever was paying the highest fee while also pandering to the voting block she thought would provide the greatest turnout.

LMAO.

Trump is indeed not establishment, he doesn't know how to be a politician Wink but as far as being a puppet and being corrupt, please understand that Trump may be a bit more compromised then your average candidate.  It's harder to see the hand that feeds with him, it was more obvious with Hillary.
1367  Other / Politics & Society / Re: French Election on: April 22, 2017, 01:55:24 PM
Who's going to be the next french president? Le Pen? What kind of changes she will bring? What do you think.

I think the next french President will be marine Le pen. If she will win the election she will separate france from the use of english pounds and will make  a national currency for their own. She also told the European Union that if she will win France will treat pounds as a common currency rather than as a national currency. If Le pen will win LEPEN coins will also skrocket in value and I am hoping for that.

I would like Le Pen to become the next president. But the problem is this:

I think that it is going to be Macron. Some 30% of the French population is made up of immigrants, and therefore Le Pen needs to win 72% of the native French vote in order to win. Right now, she is stuck at somewhere around 65%.

It is going to be extremely hard. But I can't vouch for anything. In 2016, Trump achieved something which was considered as impossible by the political analysts. He won 58% of the white vote (when compared to 37% by Hillary). That propelled him to victory, despite the minorities voting overwhelmingly against him. But Le Pen's task is even more difficult.

It won't be that hard at all. After the recent terror attack in Paris, I'm almost willing to bet that she has it in the bag. This wasn't a  Reichstag Fire, so to speak, but will consolidate her voter base (and a few new faces,).

And I personally don't want to see her as president. But, that's them changes.
1368  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN told about the Russian "father of all bombs" on: April 21, 2017, 02:37:35 PM
In 2007, Russia created a super-powerful bomb which is called the "father of all bombs". The Russian military say that this is the most powerful thermobaric bomb of this kind. It is four times more powerful than the American "mother of all bombs", the biggest non-nuclear bomb in the U.S. Arsenal.
"We believe that it is real. This is subject to their technological capabilities," said retired Colonel Rick Francona, a military analyst and former military attache of the USA in Syria.
It is noted that this bomb has never been used in combat. Russia announced that the bomb was first tested in 2007. In a national broadcast, which aired on 11 September 2007, Deputy chief of the General staff of the Russian Armed forces at the time Alexander Rukshin said that is the first test of a new bomb.
"The results of the tests of this aircraft ammunition showed that it can be compared with nuclear weapons in its efficiency and capabilities. At the same time I do want to emphasize that the impact of this ammunition does not pollute the environment in any way compared to the nuclear warhead," said Rukshin.
Alexander Mozgovoy, editor of the Russian magazine "national defense" said that the video shown on the First channel is accurate. He also believes that Russia may have been created more than one "father of all bombs", as well as the United States has created several "mothers of all bombs."

Wasn't aware that they had the lead  on thermobarics as well.. Was aware they had that ungodly ass nuke, tsar bomb or some shit, that they haven't even tested at full strength. And it's monster.

Given the attitude from.that camp, ayne we really,.really should.chill.the fuck out on all this war rhetoric. And we need to unilaterally outlaw.the production of nuclear.weapons. Issac Asimov had it right. We are playing God with the levels of force we wield against our fellow.humans. Decency be damned. It's about efficiency now, and there is little morality in cold efficiency.
1369  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Supreme court has recognized "Jehovah's Witnesses" extremist organization on: April 21, 2017, 01:34:54 AM
Jehova's Witnesses should be ban worldwide they are teaching falsely and against the bible.

If they are a cult, sect, I concur, partially. People should be allowed to.practice what they want, if it isn't illegal. With that being said, if it a religion, despite how odious it may be, it should be allowed to exist in a legal manner with the rest of society.

Now, if they can outlaw them knocking on the damned door to hand you those Bible tracts.. They are ninjas with those damned things, if they were Battlefield 4 tripmines, they'd be tactical geniuses Wink
1370  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: April 21, 2017, 01:31:27 AM
The Russians have never not been a friend of America. They have always supported regimes which fought against the United States. Have you seen any changes? The only change I saw is that the Russian began to allow themselves to interfere in the internal Affairs of America. Before, I don't remember.

Russians have supported secular regimes instead of Islamic fiefdoms. Look at Syria. Bashar al Assad is the last remaining secular ruler in the entire Middle East. Russia is right in supporting him.

Yeah and Assad let's Christians live in Syria in peace... He even protects them...  Can you say that about the militants/ rebels?

The rebels are mostly hardline Islamist factions. Previously, they have even committed genocide against fellow Muslim minorities such as Alawites, Ismailis and Kurds. You can imagine what will happen to the Christians if these people come to power.
Nothing good will. I do not understand how for so many centuries, the Christian community could live in Syria. Or the early Muslims were more peaceful? In any case, it will be hard to live because peace in the middle East will not be a very long time.

I feel as though the sectarian violence has always been a feature of the region; this occurs whenever there are multiple religions /ehtnic groups (for all practical purposes) cohabitating closely. What is new, is the level of violence that can be achieved with modern technologies, and the level of media dissemination each attack can achieve given the state of communications today.  This always happens, essentially. It's just escalating, like everything else does over time.

Also, the radicalization efforts would be localized, social media makes the threat of remote radicalization much more severe.
1371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks have bought the Core Team on: April 20, 2017, 03:57:08 AM
The pathetic thing is you come up with this without a shred of evidence. Just prejudice.

Obviously BU has been bought by banks. See how easy it is? Anyone can say anything, but without evidence the claim is garbage.

I don't know. As far as banks are concerned,  bitcoin is a lost cause. Too hard to influence it's policy, and bitcoin isnver anti bank. So.much easier to make a.consortium with a new, malleable coin  (ETH cough ETH) then to pay the dues it would take to corrupt such an old, established coin.
1372  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Quitting Weed on: April 20, 2017, 03:39:30 AM
I saw the other post regarding quitting smoking, but it appeared to be more focused on cigarettes and nicotine. I've never smoke cigarettes. I have smoked weed for 15 years almost everyday. I am on my 4th day without weed cold turkey. Day 1 and 2 were brutal. I vomited. I was nauseated. That has passed. My anxiety levels are through the roof with some depression. My appetite is zero. My mood is pretty much wanting to beat the shit out of everyone and everything. Sleep? What is that? I ran 3 miles today (I ran 4-5 days a week even when I smoked). That helped tremendously. Baths help.

Anyone else quit cold turkey? Any advice? Your experience?

First off, cold turkey is a no go. You have been using this substance for the last x years, your body will not appreciate you suddenly cutting off its supply of a usual substance. The anxiety is mitigatible, occupy yourself. You don't smoke.while.you are out and about, be more out and about. Besides occupying yourself, ID suggest stepping down in a reasonable manner (halve your consumption every week). The aggression will dissappear; it's simply withdrawal.

I have been smoking pot most days for the last 15 years myself. I don't intend to quit Wink
1373  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Facebook 'Live' killer threatens to continue murder spree!!! on: April 19, 2017, 03:17:59 PM

Well at least in this way, the possible killings of innocent people will stop. This shows that he had serious mental problems.

He took the cowards way out. I wish the cops caught this guy before he killed himself. It would be justice to have him sit in a cell for the rest of his life.

What changed for you would be if he sat in a cage for the rest of their days? I'm for the death penalty. Let him suffer waiting for the end of every day, and then will be executed. I think it would be better. Just all this talk. There's nothing we can change.

I can't support the death penalty on principle, I'm black and we have been getting killed unjustly in the name of said policy since the early 1900s. Despite the large disparity between the number of black citizens in the US and the number of black citizens, we are unusually represented in death row statistics, ESP prior the 60s. The Justice system is too prejudiced, at the state level, to make such final solutions. This is a human life. It's not just a function of race, but honestly reflects in social class more. Poor people eat a thick, robust legal dick when it comes to interactions with law enforcement officers from all agencies.

This particular case was cut and dry, he would have almost certainly gotten the death penalty with the right jury, buy I can't support humans making  the decision to end another human's life. Lock em up, even at our expense, but taking a life prematurely is playing God, IMO. That, I will not do. He was an animal, I'll say it. Black, white, blue or red this son of a bitch deserves no place in our society. but, I'll be damned if I go as far as to say I know if this man should live or die. My conscious says kill the fucker, to be honest. But my inner Christian says Naw, allow this fool to suffer in his ways, so that he might rehabilitate and see his folly, and possibly, just maybe, join us in Heaven, despite his idiocy.
1374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain embezzled customers’ miners to block SegWit on: April 19, 2017, 02:46:56 PM
This kind of stuff should be illegal, aren't authorities in China cracking down on crypto currency manipulation?

This guy is not only manipulating market for his own selfish reasons, but also being dishonest with his costumers.

Aren't Chinese costumers and users making formal complaints with proper authorities about this guy actions?

Unfortunately, it isn't. Guys on here are always crying for light/no regulation on crypto; this is my primary argument against that. This is a legal grey area, quasi fraud but easy to argue legally that he was unaware. Also, depends on the wording of the contract, ESP in cloud mining situations. Basically, it would take the right lawyer and a dedicated class to see this the whole way out. He will get away with this, but his company will eat this reputation hit forever. This was the United Airlines of BTC, ATM.
1375  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What if someone set copyrighted data as a Bitcoin message? on: April 19, 2017, 02:41:18 PM
This may be a dumb question, but if someone took a piece of copyrighted data which is illegal to own without paying for it (let's say a ROM of Super Mario Bros.) and inserted it into a transaction with a high enough fee for miners to bother, what would happen? Would having a copy of the whole blockchain on your hard drive become illegal?

The claim of injury from a copyright violation must be directed at a specific party. They might be able to sue the person that put it there, but no one else would really profit from the existence of this, and they would be hard pressed to show how this was damaging. Also, I think the court would appreciate the amount of technical expertise it would take to store/remove any meaningful amount if data from the chain (that is, you must be adept to convert block chain data into other media formats). That is, if the data were posted, most users would be unable to actually access it.
1376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ways are there to earn bitcoins? on: April 19, 2017, 02:35:44 PM
Recently, I've been trading bitcoins on btc-e, earning only a little, yes, very little, except the fees that btc-e takes.

Besides trading, are there any good method to earn bitcoins?   Thanks.

Whatever you would do to earn money in general, well, do that and purchase bitcoin. It's money, people. Do work like things, and the value will start to roll in eventually (and possibly accumulate, if you are doing it right).

But seriously, take a few hours from your check, set them aside, and  use that to purchase bitcoin. You won't likely spend it, and if you do, its just fiat, in another form. Well, sans the commission/conversion fee.

And be careful with trading. You can wipe months of gains with one unattended position. Trading gains are good, but trading always carried that inherent risk that comes with speculating. Given the current bitcoinosphere mood, I'm hanging tight until we figure out SeGW/BU. Too much uncertainty.
1377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily use of bitcoin? on: April 19, 2017, 02:28:04 PM
The problem that we get when using Bitcoin for daily use is a long time to wait for the transaction is confirmed and if you want to fast then have to pay the fee is quite high, so want to use Bitcoin for daily use is better use a very important thing, or transaction with big amount.

Amen. I use my Shift card from Coinbase most days. Problems usually arise when I am attempting to add additional funds to the card (takes forever to confirm and post, has had me sitting at a gas station for an hour because I neglected to bring back up cash). Other major issue is when the API they use lags; it will deny the transaction, take the coin, the refund the coin a day later or so. And the store POS will have it as a rejection. I accidentally got a free meal this way ( argued the waitress down that she had actually charged me, showed here the line item, and eventually she comped the entire meal and apologized. After I left the restaurant, about 30 minutes later the coin refunded, had to call back and apologize the next morning. They didn't make me pay, so, solid customer service at least.)
1378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all nations of the world started to use bitcoin on: April 19, 2017, 02:20:56 PM
There is nothing impossible in the idea of making payments with bitcoin or with other crypto normal. Some app as Bitpay would solve all this in a moment. I think crypto currencies ase the greatest step in all worlds economy and step in the future. And this future may come true already tomorrow.

I don't think they would, to be honest. Most countries prefer to deal in the fiat they print, as they can change the rate of inflation. Since no state actor can control bitcoin (except maybe China, as they own it), I don't think the world economy would unilaterally switch to accepting bitcoin. Would cause capital flight nightmares for some of those small, corrupt countries. And the banks wouldn't appreciate this one bit, not so easy to fractionally reserve bitcoin with the proper safeguards in place.
1379  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKCoin - bank blocked all their deposits on: April 19, 2017, 02:15:26 PM
it seems like the AML KYC problems for all these exchanges. it started with bitfinex as everyone knows and confirmed and now it is affecting OKCoin and i have seen only one person on reddit (although may be a lie) said the same thing is happening to bitstamp too.

AML is also pretty words for an uncooperative bank (as this is what they will say when they want to hassle you, they can't lock funds up in AML/KYC disputes indefinitely). But that this seems to be affecting all the banks in that particular sphere, maybe this is something to keep an eye on. But I swear we get regulatory news like this every so often, and it rarely pans out. This should at least move the price a little.
1380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex- bank blocked all their deposits on: April 19, 2017, 02:09:25 PM
just as an FYI:
MtGox was like the only bitcoin exchange by 2012-2013. it was controlling about more than 75% of daily bitcoin trade volume. when it went to hell it was like all the bitcoin community taking a hit from this since everyone who traded was on there.

bitfinex has a large daily trade volume but on average it is only a small portion of the total daily trade volume. currently (Even with the increase in their trade volume because of panic buys and panic bitcoin withdrawal) they only have 9% of total daily volume. and that is while excluding about 85 million dollar volume from total which belongs to Chinese and Japanese and other exchanges with 0 fee.

Amen. We allowed Gox to happen by having entirely too much capitalization/volume at that one exchange. People are quick to paint the next Gox, but don't understand Gox was a perfect storm, a kind of series of unfortunate events that would be hard pressed to happen again.

BTW, what ever happened to our old pal Mark K? Haven't heard that name in months.

To other poster, you got AML/KYC'd. Never move that much btc at one time, from a hosted wallet. They legally have to shut you down, for liability.
