1421  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia goes for broke on: April 10, 2017, 07:54:38 PM
Russia, Iran and groups that support the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, intend to respond in future to any new act of aggression against Syria. "The fact that America has committed an act of aggression against Syria is crossing the" red line". Now we are going to respond in response to the actions of any aggressor or anyone who violates the "red line" and America knows our ability to respond," - said in a statement.

The parent disagreement between the US and Russia is staying the hands of all parties involved. Russia can't react like they want to, given the current political climate, and Iran will not act without Russia's blessing, being outmatched by the US, and a Russian Ally. But they can't let this go without posturing; they have to show a solidarity of sorts, and to allow the US to strike an ally on their soil, near your assets without saying anything is craven. So, now that the ball is in play, everyone will do the little dance they have to do, and this may escalate to a full blown conflict. Russia will help Syria from the shadows, as they are currently. The enemy of n enemy is in this case, at least, a friend.
1422  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'No smoking gun' implicating Assad in chemical attack on: April 10, 2017, 07:49:29 PM
The U.S. and its allies have "no smoking gun" proving Syrian forces uses chemical weapons.

No stores of Sarin at Shayrat found by experts.

Forget the part about chemical weapons, there are smoking guns err bombs that Assad used on his own people, yeah?

This is where I have been at the entire thread..the last time I checked, dropping bombs was enough. Sarin is just icing on the asshole cake. I will concur it's odd he would do this, but, somebody did this, and somebody with a plane, and access to copious amounts of sarin. That we cannot dispute; and those are all features of state actors. At the very least, not publically denouncing responsibility and denouncing this is bad optics.

A province in Pakistan has made DNA testing compulsory in rape cases, part of ongoing national reforms to improve support for victims

The province of Punjab in Pakistan has made DNA testing compulsory in rape cases. It is part of ongoing national reforms, the Anti-Rape Laws, which also require verdicts to be announced within three months, allow victims to testify via video, and require that female police officers are present during the collection of evidence.

https://www.positive.news/2017/society/26475/progress-anti-rape-laws-punjab/

Although this is good reform to start with, but I doubt is enough for the protection of women specially in Punjab province.  We all know that rape in Pakistan came into international attention after Mukhtaran Bibi survived a gang rape, as a form of honour revenge.

This is indeed a start, but does little to address the root issue, the cultural attitudes toward women that are prominent in Indian society. How much of a deterrent will this be, when punishment for rape is so haphazardly enforced, and sporadically reported because of this? And then the cultural stigma of being raped is seemingly worse than getting raped; you might get fucking killed by your own family.

While you can't globally assign these attitudes to the whole population, the population would do well to rid itself of these attitudes/behaviors.
1424  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you kill cow, then you will be killed. on: April 10, 2017, 07:21:59 PM
Hindus believe cow as their sacred animal. Most of them dont eat it and they think killing cow as a sin.But what the problem is,in india, some hindus call themselves as cowrakshaks, meaning saviors of cow and they start attacking and even killing other people if found eating beef or carrying beef with them.Either you dont kill cow, otherwise you will be killed. Its their slogan.

It is a simple matter and the best thing to do if you are a beef eater then you must stay away from India to avoid being killed. The presence of extremist in India are just taking their faith in an extreme level which is also not good. If we are visiting that place we must at all cost respect their cultures and respect their sacred animals to honor their culture and to protect our lives at the same time. Thus that is a win-win solution but if you are not sure and afraid of those realities in India then better to stay away from that country.

Don't be so afraid. Even in the hard-core Hindu states such as Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, buffalo meat is readily available in the Muslim areas. And in moderate states such as Maharashtra and Telengana, you can get cow-meat without much trouble (although it is not 100% legal). And cow meat is legal and easily available in at least half of the Indian states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Mizoram, Nagaland, Jammu Kashmir, Sikkim.etc.
Can you give assurance that any one will not be killed if found eating beef, the meat of so called sacred cow in those states..Eating beef in india is a matter of Life and Death.

I noticed your handle. Are you an executive of Tyson Foods?    Cool

I laughed ass off, BAD, thank you good sir  Grin
1425  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Russian teenager was planning to commit a terrorist act in Oslo on: April 10, 2017, 07:20:06 PM
The Russian teenager was planning to commit a terrorist act in Oslo
The police of Norway has detained 17-the summer Russian in the case of the preparation of the explosion in Oslo. About it reported the edition "The Indeрendent". A primitive explosive device was discovered on the evening of 8 April in the center of Oslo near a metro station.

Possibly that 17 year old Russian Teenager was a new recruit and he was tested as a final phase to plant bombs on Oslo’s metro Station. Its nice to hear that he was caught by the authorities before he successfully detonates the bomb. Otherwise hundreds of people will be caught in the blast rendering them wounded or worst a loss of lives. The authorities should not be satisfied with just catching the culprit but must also find out what is the cause of that action that led that boy to plant bombs.

Stop referring to the terrorist as "Russian teenager". He wasn't planning to blow up people just because he was Russian. He was doing that becasue he was Muslim. You can re-phrase your wording as "Muslim teenager".

Then, replace Muslim with 'crazy motherfucker' and you have a completely correct statement Smiley

See what I did there?

I doubt whether the black lives matter and the other radical and fringe organizations will be interested in this incident, as the girl is white. Had it been a minority person, then they would have gone ballistic over it.

I'm black, and this is pretty fucking disgusting man. Any cop that feels this threatened by a sub 150 pound young female in a cocktail dress, probably shouldn't be a cop. This life matters just as much as a Black one Wink  and this happens to blacks on a daily basis, it doesnt make the news. You may think the liberal media sensationalizes police brutality against blacks, but, it's just that there is so.much more.interaction with law enforcement that this happens more, statistically. It's shitty, whoever it happens to. If this were my sister, or my mom, I can tell you one life that certainly wouldn't matter to me, at that moment.

You should read the comments on Breitbart about this one. It's surprising people with daughters, have so little empathy. I thought it was just for.minorities, was unpleasantly surprised Wink

Russia accused of using chemical weapon in Syria?
Accused by who?
US?

Alright, that sets up everything perfectly clear.
Tell me how it is possible that Russia have taken part in that crime, if the United States Of America have their armed troops in there.

That would be both political and military suicide for Russia.
I would also like to remind all of you, that both Trump and Putin has access to nuclear weapon, they can just launch the rockets and send them everywhere they want.
There is another important thing: Russia has more nuclear bombs than US has, isn't that terrifying for all of you?

Looks like people still dont believe what will happen in case of Russia - United States war. I will tell you what is going to happen.
the end
the time when anyone launches nuclear rockets, will be the 0:00 time of human extinction.

Russia could be complicit through non action, that is specifically, being aware of the military action and not voicing an objection. Follow my logic. We had both Syrian and Russian military assets at the base that got struck. With the coordination between these two forces, I would hope that either one wouldn't pull something like this, without saying anything to the other. So, they almost definitely knew about the gas attacks before they happened.

And, although the signs seem to point to Assad, these actions make little sense. To try and execute himself in the court of global opinion would be pretty stupid, thats exactly the fallout from this. Assad isn't stupid, this isn't the first time we have been here with chemical weapons. Why lose his chill now? And why the determination (multiple strikes) to eradicate this particular target?

1428  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: April 09, 2017, 08:11:03 PM

LMAO, when the eggs cost a few million a piece, I'd at least make an omelette for the dog to enjoy, rather than simply throw them into the street.

Im more at, we should have been chill in this, or at least waited a little to act. Preempting the investigation (although I'm pretty sure our intelligence will know more about it than the investigators) seemed brash in the court of global public opinion. Passing this by Congress might have softened the optics on this, but, ultimately would not have changed the outcome, I think.

A "largely ineffectual" military play? What's wrong with that?

Kind of like telling some punks to "watch out, or we'll come and stomp on you."

Well, the punks didn't seem to be listening. There were subsequent gas attacks AFTER Trumps surgical strike, hours after, to be exact. Whoever perpetrated the gas attacks, they wanted to make sure they certainly finished the job.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/08/assad-trying-kill-everyone-survived-chemical-attack-says-resident/

I know you are all weird about mainstream media sources, so let me just pull content:

On Friday night and into Saturday morning, the northern rebel-held town was pummelled once again by Syrian warplanes.
The Sukhoi jets had taken off from al-Shayrat airbase, which just a matter of hours earlier was hit by 59 American Tomahawk cruise missiles, making apparent the limited nature of US President Donald Trump’s intervention.

1429  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Did Not Seek Congress Approval Before Attacking Syria on: April 09, 2017, 07:59:37 PM
The attacks were ordered by Trump just to prop up his approval ratings. And they were meant to strike the enemy unexpectedly, and perhaps that was the reason why the approval was not sought from the Congress.

I think if we went back historically, we would find that the commander of a US military vessel did not need specific authorization from Congress to fire his guns 59 times. We could make a list of hundreds of such incidents.

That's a very different thing than a declaration of war.

@Sith I agree, but I don't think this had the desired effect. The more traditional of Trumps followers seemingly didn't like our little first into Syria. And, this would have been way more effective if we hadn't, you, know, told Russia about it (who would have been bound to tell Syria as an ally,). But, I understand this, given they weren't a target. That would have actually been an act of war.

@Spend agree also. This is an act of war, no doubt. But said act of war should not need a declaration of war. Shooting off a gang of missiles is the way you blow shit up, this is functioning as intended LOL.
1430  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are we brainwashed? on: April 09, 2017, 01:36:17 PM
I look around and see people no longer have goals.
We are perfect consumers. And I can't help thinking that over time, we have been "gently" pushed in this direction.
No more goals, no ideas, ideology, morals or principles. Just having the latest iWhatever, fast car and sleep with plenty of women. Like a new special breed of zombies.
In the past people fought and gave their life for freedom. And now I think we are less free then before. It's just that we are persuaded otherwise. Like in ancient Rome - bread and circus.
The elites and politicians has used the media especially the social media to brainwashing humanity. Our Academic system also do not help matters. The Educational materials teach us to work for people company and no dreams and thinking of having our own. Social media as tools to work of our mind by allowing sinful people to post worldly thing to distract people from using their mind for personal advancement.

Consumerism 101

On point. All corporate sponsored media is intended to deceive you in a small way. Be that buying a product or service, or voting for something; they only spent time and money crafting said message because they want something from you. Usually, your time, money, or both.

The world is ruled by rhetoric. We are much less sensitive to it as humans now; we have distracted ourselves so long we forgot how to pay attention to our surroundings, stay aware. We have been too safe. And so, we have relinquished some of the drive to discover, to question. That has been replaced by consensus. If enough people say something is a way, then that's just gotta be the way it is, no?

And all this, after communication technology advances to its pinnacle. Go figure.

Which is one of the reasons why i see India as a third world country. I respect almost everyone's believe, but to kill other people because you don't agree with them is just plain idiotic.

It's abysmal to kill a guy just because he is selling beef.

From what I have read on this, this is a result of a regulatory change pushed by the new chief minister in a fairly right wing administration. The right would like to see beef slaughtering completely banned, as cows are sacred to the religious right in India. This has resulted in a campaign of small cuts; the regulatory bar is being raised to price many meat producers out of the market. This is overwhelmingly affecting Muslims, as they do eat beef, and are one of the few over there that would process an edible cow carcass (non edible is a completely different discussion). A lot of vigilantism has cropped up; and is being used to reinforce caste. Because only the lower castes would touch a dead cow. So easy to mob and harass these guys, who are just doing a pretty shitty job to get paid.

He did just launch a missile attack on Syria so he is putting a stern outlook on him to the entire world.

I dunno. This strike, though highly publicized (this dominated the news cycle) was largely ineffectual. Struck a largely empty airfield, after giving them an advanced notice. Essentially, it seems like we paid many millions of dolkars to give Assad some free construction work. This kind of feels like a misdirection, a media event with a feel good component to distract from Russia.

Legalise some drugs for sale BUT never lock anyone up for taking any drug ..

Portugal legalised taking drugs.. No jail.
Crime gone down people taking drugs gone down..WHY..Think about it..?

No drug pushers ..
Just think if a shop sells it no street dealers to be pushing it on the street YOUTH .

GO ON   GO ON   GO ON   have these drugs says the big kid to the small kid Wink..
PUSHERS ..Shops no more pushers..

Free choice to take drugs NOT FORCED CHOICE..

How forced choice?..

You are young and to fit in you are pushed to take or smoke these drugs to fit in..

The young get to know more about drugs if legal..
Not every drinks or smokes  Wink..Smoking most young don't smoke anymore..LEGAL Wink

It seems us humans if we are told not to do something we do it more Smiley
                                    ^
Maybe it's the desire humans have to always want to be free

Complete legalisation of drugs is actually an amazing idea. I see it as a natural selection. Those who are stupid enough to do drugs and kill themselves will leave us who don't, therefore more junkies= less junkies. Cheesy
You forget that among drug users, a very large number of criminals. To meet the ever growing amount of drugs they need they go on the offense. You don't think about the fact that they themselves can become a victim of drug addict, and your children can become addicts? I'm against it. Any talk about legalization of drugs needs to be stopped.

Under a legalisation scheme, these guys would no longer be criminals. Hence the simply beauty of drug law reform. Drug law, however, is too profitable to let go for Big Prison.

Also, alcohol is one of the most damaging drugs that has been known to society (the contemporary opium epidemic will be the one to go down in history however, mark my words). Do you feel alcohol should be legal?

I agree that not all drugs should be legal, but we would do well to decriminalize, at least, some of the less addictive, mostly natural substances. If you can buy a quadruple expresso, you should be able to buy pot/fungi.

Today near Washington crashed American military aircraft. It turns out that the old planes are falling, and the purchase of new F-35 Tramp refused. Maybe this was agreed by Putin and his team Trump?
I think there is much more about American military situation that we don't know, and it would be pointless to discuss about it. But one thing is for certain, America spend a lot on its military power, and i would say too much. And even with that much money spent they are not good in military capability. Its not just needed to give a person 10 000+ (or however much) dollars gear, that person need to be smart enough to use it too. Maybe american military tech is failing not because of old, but because its poorly made in first place.

The American defense budget is almost $600 billion per year, which is higher than the combined defense spending of Russia and China. But most of this fund is mismanaged or wasted in useless projects such as the F-35.

Which makes me wonder about something. With this being the most funded military in the world, where is all this money going? We haven't had a major full scale boots on the ground effort since Iraq. Do we really give that much money to contractors and other private industries, to develop new technology for defense? It doesn't cost that much to pay the troops. Or feed them.

Why do we spend so much money with defense contractors? Why do we simply not create a new agency, and staff it with directly hired government employees? We could have avoided much of wikileaks with this strategy.

And now we are increasing defense spending under this administration by almost a quarter.

1435  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "The United States supported the plan to carry out a chemical attack in Syria.." on: April 09, 2017, 12:51:29 PM

This is another thing that wouldn't make sense if you assigned motivations to the actors. One, I doubt Trump would authorize a clandestine strike given the state of the administration. He loves his followers, and you can simply read the board to see the Trump sentiment among the harder right is rapidly fading with his airfield strike. His red meat eating voters aren't digging this Syria shit at all. So, for them to orchestrate this attack, then execute it, then respond with an additional false retaliatory attack, seems a bit far fetched.

But I will admit, all is not as it seems.

Trump is a very strange person. I think he was still on the side of Russia. He says he wants to make America great, and weakens America's position in the world. If it is and would weaken America's military strength Putin will celebrate victory.

It's not so much that he is undermining the military, in fact he intends to bolster spending. It's more that, as Big Brother to the entire world, we've had to straddle a fine diplomatic line with certain issues. We put out our position, but it's very vague, to allow wiggle room retroactively. Trump doesn't do so good with shades of grey. His tendency to commit, and then not budge is too stubborn/indelicate for American foreign politics. We have made an art of playing both sides of the fence, but the current administration seems to be departing from that. So all these bold positions coming out of America suddenly, about old things, must be a tad annoying for the rest of global leadership.
1439  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: April 07, 2017, 12:41:41 PM

In spite of his recent good performance in the MIGA project (Making Israel Greater Again) I doubt that his Zionist controllers will ever fully trust him.  Probably he'll be popped and some populist/nationalist patsy will be set up to take the fall.  Then the alternative media will be clamped down on.  In order to 'further freedom of speech' which will, of course, make perfect sense to the sheeple.

Its not just Israel, it's the money. But there has been a certain pandering to Israel that is a bit over the top this administration (Obama's administration did the same, but did this odd little dance of doesn't support/doesn't condemn). Now we have clear, unabashed support (with a bit of the same finger wagging). Now, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding why Assad would do this, now. This seems like the literal surefire way to garner instant global notoriety. To what avail would he have to order this attack? Although the evidence does seem to point to his involvement.

what's the problem if people are using fake names? They're called nicknames and were used since the beginning of the internet. Is Zuckerberg on some kind of power trip? Or he's out of the whole deal and people there are doing whatever they want?

I always thought that when people are forced to use their real name will be more careful what are they saying but it actually didn't change anything. People are still idiots Grin

LOL this sums it up. People already know their real life identities are attached to Facebook, yet people still put up pictures of stolen property, the commission of crimes, and other wonderfully bright shit such as this. I would get this for the point of tying each profile to a public identity, but, it would be pretty hurtful if someone stole your identity and did this under this scheme. People would assume it was you, since it was verified with your credentials, and it would be hard to present evidence otherwise. Unless they are going to go the Twitter verified way, they don't have the resources to implement something like this.
