Well, sad to say about the GSW, they didn't managed to keep the whole championship roster that they've got before as they need to release a few of them and do some trades.

I don't think that's a problem for Golden State Warriors as their core lineup is still intact.

Yes, I agree that those who departed are key players but not to the extent that releasing them will turn this team into the worst one.
Yes, there's no problem with that. I'm just seeing most of the fans have talked about that before but it's no longer a problem. Everyone has to end their journey with their championship team and has to be traded away if that's the management's decision.

They cannot keep them all anyway even if they wanted too. Their salary is bound to go up and if GSW keeps them, they would be over the cap and will be paying a lot of luxury tax. It would not be a wise move. They have to make a choice who to let go and who to keep.

Maybe the NBA have established another rule regarding fellow staff members/players in the same team because of the past issues, I don't really know if there's a rule like that exist in the league but that seems the case as why would coach Ime Udoka be suspended for the whole season. Surely, the team will be affected and it's too unfortunate because they had a good run last season.

I think it was a franchise rule that he broke. And I think it is normal that they would suspend him since he is married and still had a consensual relationship with female staff. Other organizations would do that as well to avoid scandal.

We are wrong with our expectation, I'm glad I take the + points and I'm confident that Northport will cover this spread since it's a very close game so far. I hope you guys bet on the ML, there's a big chance northport will win here if they won't gas out in the 4th quarter.

I would have won if I bet on the spread but I played safe and waited for more games from Bay Area Dragons to see how strong they really are. And Northport has exposed them. They are big, fast, and outside shooters but they are not unbeatable. PBA teams, especially the strong teams, have a chance to beat. Tough defense is the key.

Truly what a game! That was really close, that buzzer beater made by Powell. That's really surprising, I thought that it's really the game for Northport but really a few mistakes and they're done.
Those turnovers, I think that were two turnovers that they should have secured the game with those 42 seconds remaining. That lousy lay up of Arwind, I guess many fans are blaming that now.
I chalk that as a lucky shot for Powell. Two men are all over him when he made that shot. I don't even think that he could see the ring when he threw the ball, but it went it.

The last play of Northport was rushed. I think when the shot clock was reset, there is only 1+ seconds differential from the shot clock. They should have burnt the time and made the shot in the last seconds. The Dragons should have less time to set up a shot to win the game.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 03:51:50 PM
That is what most gamblers would do, I think, especially if they won big early on the night. They would go back and gamble more because they did not have their fill and would like to win more until they lost the big winnings. What is bad is if they lost it and they still try to win it back that will lead to too much more losses.

I have not done it though. Whenever I win big early, I would just keep that win and enjoy it with my family or friends. I think that it would be a waste if I throw it away by gambling again. I can always go back and gamble again some other day but I there are very few moments that I win big, so I better enjoy it.
1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 24, 2022, 06:08:20 AM
Yeah, the Wolves roster looks really interesting, but I think a lot of fans still don't fully understand what to expect from this team. Obviously, KAT and Gobert will dominate in the paint, but I don't rule out that these two might not have enough chemistry on the court, and that could potentially be a problem for the Wolves in terms of reaching the semifinal or final series.

Wolves are like Utah Jazz where they are creating hype in the eliminations but always ended up short at the post-eliminations.

Karl Anthony Towns is also not taking the paint as his primary comfort zone now as he's now seen draining perimeter and 3-points.

But enough of this speculation as we just have to wait if the new Wolves will now be a different one.

They now have Gobert to do that, so KAT has all the leeway he wants to play outside and shoot those 3s. That is why they got Gobert. He will be the legit center and KAT will play a very tall forward. How good it will playout though is yet to be seen. They have plenty of time to perfect this combination in the regular season. Hopefully, it will be perfect by playoffs.

^ They just resigned Andre Iguodala to another year, his 19th season in the league. His response when asked about it was funny. He said to tell Stephen Curry this is definitely his last year. I don’t envision him playing many minutes this season, but I can see him being a Udonis Haslem type player there to help out in the locker room and keep the guys’ heads on straight.

Just read this news and it's a good decision for him to still consider 1 more season. The warriors also did a great move.

He can still play I believed and not just hug the bench as an advisor like Udonis Haslem. But yes, we are not talking about around 10 MPG here. Cheesy

Last year he played 31 games, 19 minutes per game. He can still play at that level this year and then focus on mentoring the young guns of GSW.

Can you believe this?

If it's SMB vs Northport, I'm pretty sure the spread will not be that high, so what will this spread imply?
I mean, are we seeing this guess team as the NBA team playing against a PBA team? This is so disrespectful, there's no more competition here.  Sad

That's probably because of their dominant performance in their first game, but Blackwater is a bad team, you can't expect that they'll win. I guess it's worth risking on the Moneyline as Northport is a decent team. Take that ML and the over.

it is +23.5 on handicap for Northport @ 1.9. Seems like a decent odd for me. I just do not want to risk it yet. I will watch more games of Bay Area Dragon before I start betting against them.

It will be a big disgrace for basketball fans to see the PBA disbanded, it's our pride that this is the first league in Asia. So it will be a shame that because the commissioner has failed to do everything in his power to keep it. But I think league owners will not let this thing happen.

The commissioner is not even doing anything. They are letting the big teams destroy the competitiveness in the league by allowing bias trades and farming smaller teams.

I remember that there were also a rival league in the early 2000's (I forgot what's it called then), it try to challenge the PBA but it didn't have enough backing up from the fans.

Is it the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA)? It is the only league that I know that is a rival to PBA. It has the same format of MPBL which the is composed of regional teams. Sadly, it succumbs to high expense in running regional teams. Hopefully, this will not happen to MPBL.

Group A on Dota 2 TI Last Chance Qualifiers seem to be chill for Secret, with nouns and VG being the only real threat to the European team. Polaris can slither their way through the qualifiers if they manage to get through nouns on their first match, though that is highly unlikely given how tight nouns played in the NA qualifiers against Soniqs even though they were 3-0'd by the said team. It's anyone's game at this point, although my top picks for each group is obviously Secret for group A, and T1 for group B, with VP/Outsiders being a close second.
Polaris is like the dark horse of the tournament. I've also noticed that Outsiders old name is now back to Virtus.Pro, I guess that things are pretty calm now and their sponsors are back again.
While for my pick on group A is either VG or Secret but yeah, even if Chinese teams are too disciplined, Puppey and the gang has some counter to them already. While in group B, still eyeing for T1.

I am not putting too much hope on T1 right now. Even though they have ANA and TOPSON on their team, they are still far from perfect. The other members are dead weight as they have shown in SEA qualifiers. ANA and Topson is not enough to carry the team to TI. They have 2 weeks to go to perfect their combination and get better in drafting. I rank Polaris above them for now since they got them 2-0 in sea qualifiers. They have a tough group to deal with. They have to be in perfect form to be able to get past through Xtreme gaming, liquid, VP, and wildcard.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 23, 2022, 10:45:54 PM
Have you guys noticed that there's almost no crowd watching live games in the PBA now? Too bad since its rival MPBL is jam-packed every game as i noticed, if this will continue i think the PBA will be disbanded.

Isn't it normal that nobody watches the elimination games of PBA? It is only jam-packed during playoffs and when Ginebra is playing. That is why they are heavily favored by the commissioners because they pull the crowd.

I have not watched MPBL and how much they pull the crowd but if what you are saying is true, then MPBL can be the future of basketball in the Philippines. Lately, the complaints against how PBA is being run are getting more and more and louder and louder.

Local teams have to deal with it and I’m sure Dragons are well prepared for this. They are big but of course can still lose by other teams. That might be a huge challenge for Northport so better for them to be ready as well. It’s exciting to see foreign teams executing their best plays, I hope that local teams will learn from it and take this opportunity to be better. Let’s see who will be the first team to beat Bay Area.

At this point, most games against the Bay Area Dragon will be used for scouting and making plays to beat them. Luckily, their early matches will be against weaker teams. The big teams can watch how they play and come out with a plan to beat them. Let's see how they will play against the stronger teams in PBA.

And because the WNBA is already over, I am now waiting for the NBA to start but I am thinking of locking this thread and making a new one for preparation for the WNBA next season because I would like to add up Polls, so I could have asked if which team will be champion and other stuff that could be useful in a thread for WNBA season 2023,

I was actually hoping this thread to be like the NBA thread and that the discussion will continue through to the next season, but since you like to add polls, it seems to be better that way. It will be an all-in-one thread where you can see bets, discussions, and pulse through polls.

Well, Further news about the WNBA star in a Russian prison, Brittney Griner, and this is about Roy Jones that was awarded Russian Citizenship in 2015, said that he will go to Mr. Putin to secure the release of Brittney Griner but I am truly against this if she has committed a crime on Russian Soil then she needs to pay her in jail in the Russian prison,

Well, you can't blame them if they want Brittney Griner back on US soil. Though he committed a crime in Russia, she is their people, and they want her back. She can continue her jail time in US.

But I doubt Putin will give in. I think Russians are very strict and probably will not allow Griner to continue her jail time anywhere else.
1469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 23, 2022, 09:45:34 PM
I guess it's huge news for them, he is one who changes the franchise last year, so him being absent this season wherein they are one of the favorites because of how they manage to go to the finals.
Not sure though what is happening around the league, I mean I thought this is an open secret. Players bang everyone, and as far as I can remember, Magic Johnson got the AIDS virus because he was "intimate" to many females during his playing time.

It will be major changes for them unless the one who will gonna take his place is capable enough to tame the Celtic stars. I can't believe they still do such a thing to their staff considering relationships such as this one are no longer a surprise for anyone out there. I guess because he is a coach and married too. to have intimate relationships with other women seems not a good thing because when you are a coach you are simply a role model. They are just simply cutting some damage that might gonna happen if he is still the coach of the team.

I am not familiar with Joe Mazzulla, but he is named the interim coach of the Boston Celtics. He will be taking the reign while Ime Udoka is in suspension.

Just when everything looks good for the Celtics, then this news came out. They could win this year with the experience they have built up last year, they are more prepared to take the championship this year. I just hope that the interim coach is capable enough to lead Tatum and Brown.

It's a little strange to me how professional sports has gotten so anti-workplace relationships.  Cheerleaders are threatened with the loss of their job if they converse with players, even outside of the workplace.  Now coaches can't bang who they want (granted he was married to Nia Long so the guy is an idiot)...  I think maybe it's about time to stop policing relationships between consenting adults.  You know this sort of thing is happening all over the league in every sport.  Seems like the NBA is speeding down a slippery slope with this one.
Yeah, that's my question too. Why the suspension? Did the woman he banged didn't agree to it to make it a rape case?
I mean, if he has a wife then it's the wife that should file a case then the law will take care of it. I understand the Sarver case because many complaints were received inside the NBA environment but I don't know about this one with Udoka.
He is not yet telling any details or statements, just an apology. So he is guilty, but there are blanks.

The report did say that it is a consensual relationship with a female staff, so it is not rape.

Coaches are held to the highest standard, though I think a year's suspension is too much, that just means that the Celtics are serious in imposing their policies and that they expected their coaches to be in their best conduct. They know that this suspension may affect their bid for the championship, but they still imposed it.

Kinda wondering if it actually counts as participating in TI this year if the team only gets to the Last Chance Qualifier though? Its pretty much offline tournament in Singapore as well so thats basically TI isnt it. 2 more weeks to go though, imagine all those action packed games in the qualifiers because there is only 2 slots out of 12 teams that participated

Though it will be a LAN game, I will not count that as TI. It will still be a qualifier for me. I guess all games will be very tough since all the teams will give their all to qualify. It will be very exciting game.

What I wonder is if there will be a team from Last Chance that will win it all in TI. That could be a great story to tell and a good true sight video.

Im expecting VG and Secret would get that 2 slot for TI and this qualifier would really be hot and exciting considering that this is the last chance for them to get in and participate the internationals.

I am inclined to bet on China or WEU teams get the last slots for TI but let's wait and see how the teams will perform in Singapore.

He is Liu Chuanxing, 7 foot 5 inches in height and he is there to make the life of June Mar miserable. Cheesy

I do not think June Mar can totally stop this guy alone if he decides to impose his dominance in the paint. June mar will need help from his teammates to be able to stop this guy. Luckily, basketball is a team sport so June Mar will not have to do it alone.

That would be a great matchup and for sure many fans are going too watch that when our very own Junemar Fajardo battles Liu Chuanxing. Offensively, Junemar will most likely struggle against this giant as we all know that he had problems operating inside the paint when his guard is taller than him, we have seen that when he is up against Slaughter but it is very interesting how he will adjust.

I do agree, it will be a big test for JunMar to play against the giant. Not just him to be fair though, every team will be a nightmare match up for this behemoth.

But we will see how good JunMar really is, if he can score at low post or battle him out in the boards. And if will just show how our locals will do because we haven't seen someone as big as Liu in our league.

It will be hard to control that giant alone since no one in PBA can match him. It will be a team effort to take him on.

It will be really hard to deal with Bay Area Dragons since Liu is not even their main man. I think Powell will deliver more damage to their opponents. He is fast and can drive to the basket and shoot. There are other players too that could shoot from 3. Opponent teams cannot just focus on Liu since they can just kick the ball out for 3. And if they guard outside, Liu will dominate them from the paint.

It will give great headaches to the head coach of their opponents how they will deal with this team.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 22, 2022, 10:37:16 PM
So it seems that that Kawhi is really building up his physique in preparation this season, those huge legs will obviously help him to stay injury free (hopefully).

And as I have said previously, he shouldn't be treated as fragile and be on the minute restriction, well in the first couple of his comeback games, maybe. But as he gets back to the gruelling 82 games he should be at least playing more minutes for the Clippers. They need to maximized their big 3, not preventing them to play and have fun.

Load management for Kawhi is not just preventing him from getting injured but also preserving him for the playoffs season which matters the most. I do not agree with load management because players should play if they are healthy. That is what the fans are paying for. It is disappointing to buy tickets and then know that your fave player is not playing because of load management. But, teams and players are wiser now. They know that it is more important to keep the players healthy for the playoffs than win all the game in regular season and get them injured or exhausted comes playoffs.

The team is still hard to defeat even if Paul George and Kawhi wasn't there for the team, what's more if these 2 superstars will start playing side by side again? Another additional asset is John Wall, the current Los Angeles Clippers is surely a vicious team that will cause an alarm to the other teams in the league.

As of now, the good news is Kawhi Leonard's already back fully healthy but he won't be in the starting five for the meantime because the team can't afford to make errors this time so they will give Kawhi few minutes first before he will do some heavy loads.

Yeah, the current Clippers roster looks so good, at least on paper. So the Clippers may be at the top of the standings during the upcoming season, and they may have a really good chance to reach the final series. As for Kawhi, if he is really fully healthy, he will be in the starting lineup anyway. It's worth noting that training camps and preseason games will start soon, and I think these activities should be enough for Kawhi to get back to his game shape.

Clippers look good but do not expect too much since the west is pretty much stack as well. The competition is very tough with GSW and its trio, the Suns, Mavs and Nuggets. Kawhi has been away from basketball for a whole season. That will affect his game a lot. Though we should credit him for keeping up the physique even in injury. I do not expect him to perform at his best early in the season but expect to see big things when playoffs comes. His body should have adjusted to nba basketball level by that time.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 22, 2022, 09:21:30 PM

It's already set and that's one reason why he has accepted the deal for this match, knowing that it's for a charity cause he never escalated and thought twice.

I don't see him doing this with political agenda. He's already past that and he's more for anything he want to do and all of these fights, I guess that his passion for boxing is just hard to remove even if he's already announced retirement.

We can never say, but I am just speculating that the charity work is just for his hidden agenda or a good point for Running again for Presidency, but yeah it could be a legit help for others, and as I have said knowing Pacman from rug to riches he is more close to the people at poverty, but we can really never know his true intension,

But those fights were already set and we can not say if he wants to regain those lost amounts after that campaign period, but for a boxer like him surely those lingering effect on fighting in the ring will surely be there that is why he is still coming back for more,

That is actually my first reaction when I heard on the news that Manny Pacquiao is in negotiation for an exhibition match. I thought if he lost a lot of money in the election campaign he needs to fight again. I hope it is not because he is already a millionaire, and he does not need to fight just for money. If it is for charity like everyone is saying above, then I guess it is for a good cause. I think there are still a lot of fans who want to watch Manny fight even just to see a glimpse of his previous glory.

Kind of crazy that Mayweather is saying him and McGregor are going to rematch and McGregor is saying he’s not interested. Starting to seem like Mayweather is losing his shine a bit if he’s chasing MMA fighters around for fights. I sort of thought he’d be retired by now but he keeps fighting exhibitions. He’s addicted to boxing.

Can't really blame him because that is Money Mayweather's passion and he is doing his best to do some exhibition fights anywhere in the world while he still can and while he's still known to the public. No denying that doing some exhibition fights is one of his easiest way to make money because of what he had achieved in his time. Sooner or later, that fire that keeps him fighting will burn-out and even Mayweather can't evade that.

I always thought of Mayweather to fight for money. The way he chooses his fights, it is always on his favor, and he make it sure he gets the bigger cut. But I think that this exhibition fights that he wants against McGregor is just to make himself still relevant. He likes the limelight. These fights will make him still visible publicly. I may be wrong; it is just my opinion.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much money do you leave in crypto casino? on: September 22, 2022, 08:50:26 PM
I do leave a few hundred in my casino wallet just to avoid the hassle of depositing if I have to bet. I only do this to the casino I trusted and regularly use. Sometimes all I want to do is log in and bet or play immediately and it is a hassle to deposit and wait for confirmation. Also, I limit the balance I leave in the casino wallet. I never go over a few hundred in it. I know that a casino wallet is not safe, and I do this just for convenience. I have not lost a penny yet though. So far, the casino I have been using did not ban or locked any of my funds, yet.

Bay Area dragon is very tough team and I think that they have a chance to claim the trophy because as we all know that they have a good center which 7 foot 5 tall and that's makes them as advantage not just all they have also myles powel which very energetic and fast in terms of handling the ball. Also their forwards big man has a capability in three point shot so it's hard to the local team's to defeat the guess team.
Maybe BAD( Bay Area dragons) teams will be the first guess to became a champion.

We have only seen one official game from Bay Area and their opponent is not that tough. We are yet to see how they will perform against a tougher team in PBA. Though by the looks of it, even the top teams in the PBA will have a hard time. They may sweep the elimination rounds but it will be a different story comes playoff time.

If there is anything that can be exposed from their offense or defense, I guess it will come out in the playoffs round.  Teams can adjust better against them since they will be in a series. It will lie in the brilliant minds of the coach how they will make the life of the 7'5" center miserable in the paint if that is even possible.

Can June Mar Fajardo even stop him?

What's the name of the Center, and his height?

He is Liu Chuanxing, 7 foot 5 inches in height and he is there to make the life of June Mar miserable. Cheesy

I do not think June Mar can totally stop this guy alone if he decides to impose his dominance in the paint. June mar will need help from his teammates to be able to stop this guy. Luckily, basketball is a team sport so June Mar will not have to do it alone.

was talking about Westbrook was planned to be bench player, not a starter. I saw the news about that. I should have been more clear about that, that was what I meant. Westbrook, of course, was a superstar but at the age 34, I don't think he can be as effective as before. Schröder can get more minutes than him. Although, Schröder himself is questionable player as how much consistent performance he can give. Westbrook's salary is of course still a big issue in my opinion. Lakers could have done so much better with that much money. Sad thing is, it is kind of wasting Lebron's last good years. It is highly doubtful how good can Lakers be this season.

They lack depth as usual. Their starters look good especially if they could stay healthy and could be a championship team. But once any of their starters get injured, they do not have a very deep bench that could replace them. If they could trade Westbrook, it would open up a lot of options since they can bring in a lot of good role players with that salary. But they cannot trade Westbrook because of how his name has been muddied in the last months. No team wants him right now. Maybe later in the season, they can trade Westbrook out but right now, they just have to make things work with him as much as possible because he is not going away.

Cloud9 were on point for the first match to resume the tournament today against Evil geniuses.
The Cloud9 series went as expected but still, EG did put up a decent fight on their map pick before crumbling on the second map. I feel like EG will end up on the lower side of the standings together with Movistar Riders unless they show up in the next two series.

Team Liquid vs Movistar Riders series left for today and Movistar have been losing most of their games against weaker oppositions which is worrying for them after putting up a performance in the IEM tournament a few months ago. Team Liquid on the other hand is likely going to maintain their winning streak since they've beaten decent oppositions (NiP and Heroic) on LAN during the Blast groups. That said, i'll go for the -1.5 series handicap for Team Liquid as I think Movistar would continue to struggle.

Team Liquid started struggling in the first map but was able to put things together and they end up winning the map. I thought they would lose this map. They are heavily favored in this match and your bet looks good on paper. I also think that they could take this 2-0, but I am now doubtful because of that first map. They are making too many mistakes and if this carries to map 2, Movistar may take a map from them.

Anyway, let's see if Team Liquid will be more confident and composed on map 2.

Everyone have the same thought, but when it comes to reality we don't do it. We won't mind losing on gambling, but we find it hard to support a person in need. I remember few threads that have been created to support the flood affected countries. Very few have contributed to it. Even I didn't support, but for the past few weeks I've lost my payments gambling. If we all can support with a week's payment that could've made a big change. So, reality and discussion completely differs.

I thought that since we are all anonymous here, we will be more open and honest in discussions. But I think it is not true then.

And parents need to show or teach their childrens on how they can survive on cruel world and find better opportunities to their selves without seeking for help by anyone or by the government. If parents can teach them to became self sustaining then plus they got proper education for sure they will not became poor and can escape from this state. For gambling issue its up for them to decide if they want to enjoy this since they are the one who can decide for what they like to do.

In a perfect world, that is possible because every parent would be responsible and well prepared to guide their children. But we are not in a perfect world. More and more are becoming parents without knowledge to raise their children or be prepared to even become parents.

I will translate this, A.Chua said we want Malonzo. Com. Marcial said, sure boss all yours. Papers are on the table all sets and good to go!

Nice translation and that will probably happen very soon.

Well, PBA league is losing its popularity already, players are leaving, so I'm pretty sure they will find a way to make it popular again. I'm hoping that they will make big changes and that they would listen to the fans to give way to more teams joining the PBA.
Allowing more teams to join might lose more the credibility of PBA, and beside it’s not cheap to have a new team so we might not see any new team for now. What PBA needs to do is to improve their system, they need to be better so they can get back the trust of the public. Players going abroad is pretty normal, what is not normal is that why they are transferring into a league that PBA is way better? Technically there’s is something wrong with the system and they have to address that issue.

Adding more team to be another farm team is not the solution to PBA's current problem. There is no competition because all the best players are being hauled in a few powerful teams. Only MVP and SMC teams are getting the good players while the other teams are there just for participation. As mentioned here before, you can already guest who will be playing in the finals and even guess who will win the conference before it even begun. That should be addressed but the commissioners are too blind to see it or just blatantly ignoring it because of money.
