1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: January 14, 2023, 06:25:53 PM
I think those coins that collapsing are quite different with eth, luna is coin released by certain foundation meanwhile ftt is utility coin released by ftx exchanges so I think it couldn't be compared even though indeed there's always risk of collapsing but with eth it's gonna be different. you see luna crash also because of its ust coin.
i'm sure eth will just exists like btc since it has proven so many years that they still stand until now.
The quality of Ethereum is unquestionable and I don't see the coin collapsing,
for risk I think every investment will always be there and that's what we need to minimize,
what is clear is that Ethereum will remain the top coin and a safer investment than any other altcoin.
That's true, it is one of the best coins out there in the world right now and people should be glad to hold it if they have any. The problem for me is not having enough money to buy even more, I don't care about the increase we had now, I want to buy more, I did when it was lower, I did when it was higher and I would now too.

So, when you feel like you are not sure what you should do, if you should buy more or not, remember that there are people like me who would buy ETH right away as soon as they get some money, and they can't because we lack the funds for it, and if you do have any funds to buy ETH and not doing that, you are not giving it enough justice.
1502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 14, 2023, 04:13:02 PM
Even though there are many smaller teams in the Europa League the champions have still been big teams for many years. Still teams like Villarreal and Frankfurt won the title in a row in the recent two years though. This might have made people give more chance to such teams from now on. But this season looks different to me.
Frankfurt was not playing in europa league again. This time there are so many big clubs that were playing in the play off. Some clubs were also at the top of their domestic league which gives different view to the current europa league.
This time europea league looks more interesting compared with last year. there are so many changes happened with the current competition. im so glad that to see so many big clubs were clashing between one to the each other.
I agree that the teams that are at the top of their leagues do have a bigger chance. Just to name the big names Arsenal and Barcelona will be the big names. I think europa will be different this year a lot more because there is more prestige to it, like conference league is the lower end now, which means that europa is not the bottom one anymore and winning that should give some returns.

I understand it's not a lot of money and not a lot of reputation neither since the biggest clubs of Europe do not really win it, but this year is a bit different and it could happen. We have to just wait and see, we still have time for a smaller club to win.
1503  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the $17,000+ bitcoin price breakout benchmark to new price direction on: January 13, 2023, 09:20:51 PM
Have crossed 19k recently but drops down to 18k again in which I am seeing that we are heading to new  direction comparing to what we have in 2022 though we are far from hitting at least 20k again?
but we have positive look to what will come sooner.
and hoping that this is not just for January but the whole year I wish.
Yep. Today, it passed $19k for a moment. Although it doesn't last a long time, it is surely a good sign that Bitcoin is likely to improve its price constantly. Once the price stays above $19k, it is not very far from $20k. In theory, $20k may be achieved in several days or weeks. But if there is bad news, the price may decrease again temporarily. However, these all are positive indications that this year seems better than last year. I bet Bitcoin already hit its lowest price last year, this year is a time to begin its improvement constantly. Let's hope there is not much bad news anymore, so the price can increase without significant obstacles.
As far as I can see, it is above 19k right now as well and it looks like it's going to stay there for a while. I am not saying that this increase is start of something awesome and we will be 100k in a month or whatever, it's not going to be like that for sure. But, I am saying is that we are looking decent right now and there is no reason to bash that, there is no reason to be hopeless even at the face of victory.

This is why it's going to be quite important to focus on making as much profit as we possibly can and it's actually a good thing to see it as a risk even when it's up, because you won't be blinding investing, and keep one eye on it, but you should get involved anyway.
1504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 13, 2023, 08:28:04 PM
It depends from which side are you looking at the World Cup 2022. If you watched it on a TV from your home, everything was great and most of the games were interesting. However I'm sure that fans that were stopped in the airport because they didn't get their visa on time. There was a situation where two guys payed almost $3000 for a game and airplane ticket to go to one game. One guy got his visa and the other guy didn't get it in time. The guy without a visa got stopped from entering a plane in Frankfurt, Germany and his friend didn't want to go alone. In the end not only have they lost $3000, they had to buy another plane ticket to get home from Frankfurt.

And then there were those discriminate situations where something that is normal in "our" world was forbidden in Qatar, but I won't go into that.
I will. What is "normal" in our nation is literally just women wearing whatever the hell they want, that's a freedom, if you are going to put pressure on women that goes to Qatar, and I do not even mean women of their own nations, I mean women that goes to visit, and tell them to wear "proper" clothing, that's not just limiting someone's freedom, but that's literally a crime in our nation.

You can't force women, you can't force lgbtq people, you can't force anyone to do what you want to do, and that was disgusting. West may have a lot of troubles, as someone who is not from west I can say that they have many many faults, but freedom to wear whatever you want is a key difference because if even that's an issue, then imagine all the other ones we do not know about.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 13, 2023, 06:45:24 PM
It is very interesting to know the fact that Entering the Super Cup Spain final is a team that always makes football fans hard to miss when these two teams face each other. Barcelona and Real Madrid both advanced to the final via a penalty shoot-out process, they had to fight hard to beat their opponents to reach the top of the party. This match will be played at a high tempo for the sake of prestige, Barcelona rivalry with Real Madrid has been going on for a long time. It's always interesting when the two teams compete, because both want to maintain the pride of the team, especially since the two will compete in the final match.
The importance between them is much bigger than just football for Spain. In other nations it could be about the biggest two teams, or local derby or whatever. But in this case, Real Madrid was the team of the king, which means that the king supported this team more than most other teams, and the "royal" as in real is the appointment of the king himself in that regard.

On the other hand, Barcelona is the team of Catalonians who supported separation and wanting their own nations and have their own flags and so forth. There are more details to this as I do not know since I am not Spanish, but it's basically a lot more political than any other derby in the world.
1506  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 13, 2023, 05:51:11 PM
Eventually after you realized your mistake you will find good ways to develop alternative strategy, learning from loses is a great motivation to continue aiming for more learning and understanding in regards with the business that you are into, and just like what you mentioned, you will become much better after you find that right patterns that will give you success after you suffer from loses on your first few tries.

It's your determination and your pickup, if you see that there's learning better to take a serious action and try to overcome for a better outcome.
Building an alternative strategy for the first time is the biggest deal you could have. It's going to be the hardest thing to do because it is something that will benefit you in the long term. Not having that alternative strategy, first one could suck and be a bad one too and you could lose from that, but the fact that you were not insisting on a losing one and willing to find an alternative one and know how to do that means a lot more than people think.

This is is why I try to make sure that I get to invest in as many different strategies as possible during bull run, which gives me return anyway, but to see which one is better than the other, it's a great method.
1507  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: January 13, 2023, 05:19:11 PM
What you need right now is a video tutorial and some guides, check youtube for some brief videos and this forum for some tutorial guides, make use of the forum search bar to make enquiries about trading guides, you will have some self-explanatory threads that will help you out but at the same time you should NOTE: That the videos and material you watch and read are just for learning purpose, that doesn't really mean you may encounter similar trades, the market changes with the trend, you should use them as starter kits and improve your trading.

There is a tip I want to share with you, real traders learn during the bear market and that is what you should master now, when the bull run comes, you wouldn't stress much about trading, most often than not, you will always have a long position open with lots of profits because after all-time high, the candles that come are always wild and massive due to FOMO and that's when you make lots of profits.
Youtube is definitely a great place to find those type of things but you need to make sure that you find a good one. First of all find one that is in great English, secondly find one that has millions of views and not just a few thousand ones, and lastly check the comments and see if people think it's stupid or not. If you find one that speaks clearly, and then have 10+ million views, and everyone thanks them at the comment section that means you probably found a good one.

I have seen plenty of people who do not know what they are talking about end up making videos just to make money on youtube, and you should try to avoid them as much as possible because it would give you wrong information.
1508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 12, 2023, 09:01:41 PM
-snip
It's always the manager, manager is not just the guy that draws the formation and tells them how to play and let them be. If you watched any sport movie ever, the importance of the manager is not the formation at all, in fact that could very well be the least important part of his job because depending on your players you could change your formation and many managers change tactics midgame.

The important part is always knowing more about your players and either helping them be better, or if you see them down then at least get them out. Niehter porter nor psg manager has this, they are too timid and afraid and both teams need a huge name to help them out.
1509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 12, 2023, 01:39:08 PM
This is very interesting, Harry Kane can finally leave England to play in another league
I heard some rumours about Bayer, Manchester and Real Madrid trying to get him.
At the age of 29, in my opinion he should go to Real Madrid to try another league, another challenge with real and great chances to be the champion of UEFA Champions League, he almost won 2018-19, but in Real Madrid there's more possibilities to win La Liga and UCL.
If Harry Kane leaves England for another league in another country, it will be great for him because he will have a lot of interest from big clubs and his buy out clause will be very large.

Going to Real Madrid from England is not a feasible option that can occur immediately. Last time I checked, Real Madrid needed a very talented and young striker like Haaland to take over for Benzema, who is likely to retire soon.

Even if Harry Kane signs a contract with Real Madrid, I doubt he'll stay there for long due to the intense football Real Madrid may require, which he can't provide given his age. If he’s looking to retire soon, he should go for a smaller clubs in other divisions too.
His name was uttered for Madrid for one purpose; play until Endrick could takeover. We all know that they paid a good sum for Endrick, and we have absolutely no idea if he will be any good or not when he gets there, maybe he will be a great future superstar, or maybe he will be a bust.

But, if they could get Kane, that means they are going to play him for at least 5 seasons, and he will be 35-36 by that point if I am not wrong, and Endrick will be 21 or so, which means that not only Endrick would be getting minutes by that point, but he would be ready to takeover when Kane leaves. That's a god timing for both players and the team, rare win-win-win situation all around.
1510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 12, 2023, 08:16:19 AM
Roma are still not in good condition. Of course getting one point in San Siro was still not bad because Milan are one of the most performing teams in the league now. However Roma still could have done better than that. They weren't like on the field in the first half. We saw them trying to do something in the last minutes of the half or so. If they didn't improve the effort in the second half they were most probably going to lose three points.

This time they are going to be hosting Fiorentina. Roma are very dominant against them in their home games in the league. They should see this game as a chance to improve their general performance as well. I think this time we will see a better look and Roma will win.
I agree that one point is amazing for them to get out of Milan, and it was an away game too, which is awesome. Wanting or at least expecting more from them makes no sense to me, it's obvious that we are not going to see them do any better at all and it would be quite difficult to beat Milan to begin with, and definitely even harder to do that at Milans home, so it's definitely not easy.

This is why getting a tie was as good as expected and could be considered as valuable as a win. In general they are 7th, which is a bad situation, they should be in top four without a doubt, but this game wasn't a good example of their bad season, it was a very good game.
1511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: January 10, 2023, 09:24:58 PM
This week Galatasaray will play against Hatayspor. Galatasaray has very high confidence as they achieved winning streak in later weeks. Icardi also returned from injury. Although Mertens will be missing because of yellow card he was shown against Fenerbahce. I am expecting Galatasaray to win match again. Hatayspor is pretty weak team compared to many mid table teams in league. They are very bad at defence line as well. Conceded too many goals. I feel like they should have won against Antalyaspor last week.
By the looks of how they have been for a while now, I am guessing that they will have an easy win for sure, Hatayspor is nowhere near the level of galatasaray. Easy bet and Fener will want to win too so if we wager on both of them this week, there is a good chance we could get our bets worth for sure.

Obviously it's football and anything could happen but both teams are dominating the league as a whole, Galatasaray may seem like the better team right now between them but the reality is that both of them are still by far better than anyone else in the league and I doubt that they will have too many bad games in a row at all, should continue to win games.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 10, 2023, 06:01:15 PM
Arsenal are still a strong side despite failing to win Newcastle and ending in a goalless draw. Manchester City facing Manchester United in the weekend as Arsenal face Spurs this fixtures will do so much in deciding if Arsenal will extend the gap or Manchester City will close up the gap. Indeed the race for the title this season is getting so interesting as everyone is anticipating to see if Arsenal can really beat Manchester City in the race to win the trophy and stop Guardiola's intended record.
I am pretty sure Arsenal could beat Spurs, that part seems like not a big deal but it also looks like City will beat United as well. Both teams are so good that it's very rare situations we they lose, and Arsenal failed last time because it was Newcastle and they are there with these two anyway, not like Arsenal lost to Southampton or something.

At the end of the day, it is going to be a close run and I am still expecting City to win the title and it will be a difficult situation to watch because I would love to see Arsenal win the title, and not just about Arsenal but would want a different team to win this time around and it would be awesome to see them get the league.
1513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SBF released, Will Solana ($SOL) come back? on: January 10, 2023, 06:41:45 AM
If you want to gamble with SOL, you can buy it now and hold on to it, hoping the price will go up and return to its original high. But if you are not sure about SOL, you don't need to buy SOL and leave it and look for other coins.

We don't know what impact this news will have because investors seem to have distrusted SBF and are trying to leave it with losses. Investing in SOL has risks because we have seen what happened to SOL. So it's better to be careful and think about it well so you won't regret it later.
It's really an obvious situation where too many people are overreacting to the situation. I know it's not going to be easy to accept SOL as a great investment, and you shouldn't if you do not want to but the idea behind rejecting it is a dangerous one if you are only worried about the movement.

Think of this as something that could put in danger, if you saw the pump and dump and then decided it's too risky and that's why you won't invest, there will be some good projects with pump and dump that will not mean it's gone. Maybe SOL is not one of them and it's okay not to invest into that, but there will be others and you should invest into them at the very least.
1514  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price, January. $20000 or above possible? on: January 09, 2023, 08:16:52 PM
More 20 days left for January, I don’t think Bitcoins will rise until and unless some positive signs are seen. I mean Bitcoins increases in price when the demand of the coin increases. But if there is no such event takes place which will lead to increase in price, then definitely Bitcoins won’t increase in its price. Moreover as many veteran traders have predicted, this year will be big for Bitcoins. But Bitcoins usually grow at the later half of a calendar year. So let’s see what happens after August. For January crossing 20k usd in price is really hard.
I think there isn't any requirement of big good news to make it go up. Some guy could randomly end up buying bitcoin to make it big, and another follows and another and suddenly the market is looking better without anyone knowing why exactly. Believe me there will be some "news" at the same time that people think it is because of that, but it would have nothing to do with it, just there because people think there is a need for a news and that's why it happened.

In reality, we could just go up because people are buying a lot more than they are selling. That's going to happen this year, don't know if January will be the start or if it will be later but it will start this year for sure.
1515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 09, 2023, 06:59:31 PM
Marcus thuram is one of the good strikers Bundesliga has but am not sure his going to Chelsea will change anything for the club.  Chelsea has lots of good players but yet their performance is still very poor. I'm still thinking if Marcus thuram will make any difference in Chelsea.
I believe that Thuram is not a player that could turn a team around that well. He is French and so is Kante so maybe there could be some chemistry help there, and when Chelsea players are all fully healthy and nobody is injured with Thuram at the front, that could be a good team but the roster wasn't the problem they had before neither.

Like people acting as if they are missing good players in some positions and that's why they are down right now, that's not true. They are doing badly because they are playing badly, they are a club that could play much better with the players they already have, and not doing that, first they have to fix that.
1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 09, 2023, 06:24:53 PM
Maguire is a player for England's main national team and it's been a while since every English player has always been the priority at Manchester United. But the arrival of Erik Ten Hag was considered brave so not a few of Maguire's matches were postponed. In contrast to other coaches, before Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United, Maguire performed poorly and was always used as the main player. So I saw a firmness in Erik Ten Hag, he really controlled Manchester United for the sake of mutuality. Moreover, even if Maguire leaves, I don't think it will have too much impact on the stability of Manchester United's game.
The weird thing is, Maguire is the type of player that should be at max Championship level teams defender, he is not good enough for United, not good enough for premier league if you ask me but maybe lower end, and certainly not good enough for England national team. I have absolutely no idea what people see in him, there was even a moment when he was subbed in and the other teams fans cheered, that should tell you all you need to know about him.

I get that maybe he used to be better, but he longer is and his mistakes cost United a lot of points last year, in fact he was one of the main reasons for it as well. They are much better without him this year, and should sell him asap.
1517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A superstitious strategy? on: January 09, 2023, 05:35:23 PM
Now, let's be some superstitious and say, if you play only when luck appears to be on your side, would you call that a good strategy?
Not really, because how do we know that luck is going to appear during our gambling session or not? There are usually not many streaks like you had, at least for me I usually play around the 50% winning/losing ratio. How many games would it need for you to find out that today is a lucky or unlucky day? And once you start gambling to find out how lucky you are things could turn around quickly again. I had nights that start very terrible and I still managed to make a profit in the end. Martingale is a good strategy in my opinion and I use it quite often. It does require a lot of capital and time to be successful with it, and one bet can make the difference between having a good night and a bad night. It only takes one win to recover all our previous losses. Having superstitious based strategies in gambling is not a good in my opinion.
That's true, it's really not a guaranteed thing to know beforehand, and after you start you get to see how it goes as well. I believe that we shouldn't be really focusing on a good or bad day, but more like good or bad period as well.

Like there are whole weeks that are good or bad, I remember having one week where all of my sports betting hit, and I made like x4 return easily, and then another week I lost bets that were seen as sure things, like under 1.30 odds and still lost all of them. That's why it's quite important to know which one is better and how we should be doing etc etc. It's very important because it gives people a chance to back out if they are unlucky.
1518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The NFT hype makes Opensea rich on: January 08, 2023, 09:34:21 PM
In the last few months NFT has become one of the hype that cannot be underestimated. Their hype is too big and not even a few people can become billionaires from this NFT and now perhaps the most popular example is NFT Magic Ghazali Everyday who does sell photos of himself and Benjamin Ahmed with his Weird Whales work.

Of course, with this NFT Hype, several NFT marketplaces have started to soar and one of them is Opensea.
Openseea became very busy with the NFT Hype even Opensea's All-Time NFT Sales Volume Passed $20 Billion since they were created in 2017.
Of course, this is an extraordinary record for them because they are now one of the leading markets now and outperform its current competitor, NFT Looksrare.
As always stated before, during the California gold rush, the people who made the most money were the shovel makers. You are not going to make as much money as you can from being involved with NFT investment, you will make a lot more if you could provide a platform for NFT investors though.

I once did something similar with a few friends back in the day, it was for ICO period during 2016-2018 era and we had people list their ICO on our website, and it was a simple advertisement website, so we didn't make too much but we got a whole lot of clicks, more than we ever assumed we could. So all in all, its better to be opensea than to be owner of any nft collection.
1519  Other / Archival / Re: Crypto's 2022 contraction on: January 08, 2023, 08:23:32 PM
The Ronin attack was indeed huge. The damage was at least $600 million, but I don't think it started a contagion in the market. It didn't cause a domino effect. It was more of a niche-based damage, although it's not even the cause of play-to-earn NFT games losing popularity. Axie Infinity, of course, as well as Ronin itself were severely affected. But, again, it didn't really wreak havoc in the larger crypto industry.

Terra's collapse, however, sent big ripples across the crypto industry. To a certain extent, it contributed to the fate of Celsius, 3AC, Voyager, and others. It was a popular project. It was very quick to rise and even reached the top 10. Promoted by popular influencers, the likes of crypto billionaires Novogratz and CZ, it quickly attracted massive retail and institutional support. Its collapse, therefore, was huge.

However, I agree that as far as the effects on regulators are concerned, it might indeed be SBF's FTX that immediately caused it. But sometimes I wonder how much of what the regulators and even congress itself are doing now would have been done had FTX not been owned by this altruistic gentleman, Mister Sam Bankman-Fried.
I think if you look at the prices, FTX happened when bitcoin was around 20k already, we already bottomed at around 17.5k or so back then, and we did had some recovery back to over 20k and then dropped to 16k or so, but that's still when we were at the bottom.

However, we could consider Luna as a big drop, it was a lot higher when it happened and crashed the price hard, so I would understand the logic there but it happened in spring of 2022, not October 2021. During November of 2021 we started out fall and been in bear market since then, whatever happened there is the main reason for the bear market to start, and I don't know what it was, but I know that was the date.
1520  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 08, 2023, 08:21:42 AM
If you are asking is there anyone who is successful in trading and they consider trading as their primary source of income? I can say that, yes, there are many. But to do that, they also spent a lot of time studying and training and also lost a lot of money in the past. Everything needs trade-offs to achieve, it's not easy to do in a few days or a year or two, it's a very long and arduous process.

As a newbie, you need another source of income, not just trading, because trading is not always profitable for us. Only consider it the primary source of income when you have enough experience and are sure of your earning ability.
It's not about "is there someone out there you don't know about", it's about are you one of them, and if you are one of them then how did you do it. We can guess that there is at least one person, probably dozens even hundreds of people who make a profit from trading daily, but we do not know them.

If we knew how they do it, like if that person explained to us how they can make that happen, then we would learn and do the same. I personally do not make enough from trading to consider it a full-time gig, I do not make enough to consider it even a part-time gig. So I can't answer this question, but if there is someone who does, with proof of course, it would be great to explain it.
