1521  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: January 06, 2023, 10:52:27 PM
Those who've seen previous bear markets, survived several winters, please share some hope and courage.
This is not the end, right? Smiley
Do not worry this is not the end, now there are many exceptional holders out there which despite the crypto winter they never had any problem holding their coins, but if you ask me they are an exception more than anything.

For the rest of the investors their first crypto winter is always the hardest, so I do not judge them when they show signs of being worried or they start to doubt themselves as it is to be expected, just remember that bitcoin is simply too good as a technology and that despite its weak price bitcoin is still as good as it was before the crash so it is bound to recover at some point in time.
If you have traced back history, you will know that crypto winter is also an advantage to keep us in accumulation phase and increase bitcoin in our portfolio. So we should not fear it, but embrace it and understand that a bearish market is needed before a bullish market takes over. Just stay patient and keep hodling, this is not the end, but definitely the beginning of our crypto career.
1522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 06, 2023, 10:32:26 PM
Yet 20 years from now the generation today who spend 5 minutes on youtube stories will still think their generation is better than the old ones who spend hours just lining up to a popcorn stall and watching a 3-hour movie. Give them an interesting story that affects and relates to thier lives and they will surely watch them and even talk about it in the pub.

A country that is just devastated by war will have a generation that will most likely be interested in watching war movies and talking about wars.
I wouldn't say that one generation is better than the other, it's all based on what people want and everyone has their right to want whatever they want. Me and my spouse are from the generation that goes to a cinema and wait in line to buy a popcorn and spend a night basically fully on that movie, whereas if you are at home, even if you spend 3 hours watching something on Netflix, you have more than 3 hours and that means it just won't work for you, won't be enough, you need to do something else as well.

But, that doesn't mean kids who like to watch 5-10 episodes of their favourite show that night is any better or worse, it's just preference and that's fine, that's good, we need all kinds of options available to us.
Also, we can’t expect for the different generations to have the same interests and preferences too. Today’s generation are more likely interested in technology and everything about robotics and computer. But I don’t see it working for me either. I still prefer those old type movies rather than seeing these modern ones.
1523  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: January 06, 2023, 09:57:59 PM
Could the entire crypto market ever be a scam?
How much faith do you have about the crypto world?

Can I confidently choose Crypto World to safely store all my hard earned wealth?
Like the bank?

Your money in the bank, are you confidently sure that it is safe?
I mean money that you don't see;
Money you don't hold;
Money you need to sign your signature before you withdraw;
Money that bank can freeze and tell you some regulatory stories;
If you can trust bank to be 100% safe, something you don't control, it then means that bitcoin is a heaven because you will be your own bank.
How do you see that?
Or do you trust the bank more than yourself?
Probably, people are more blinded by banks and they think it’s way safer than any other, including cryptocurrency. But if they will look at it deeply, with bitcoin which is giving us freedom to manage our own funds, that is way more safe and secured than entrusting banks our hard earned money and let them take advantage on it. But I guess, only bitcoin enthusiasts would only know that, and the rest are still bank fanatics.
1524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Example of Not your Keys Not your coins on: January 06, 2023, 09:34:41 PM
Thanks to Celsius’s “unambiguous” terms and conditions, any cryptocurrency assets — including stablecoins — that were deposited into Earn Accounts, became Celsius’s property, the filing stated.

I'd say in this case, it's more correct as an example to read the whole terms of service rather than not your keys not your coins, because everyone already know when they deposit to centralized website, the third party has a control over your coins. While in this case, Celsius's terms of service make them win about the coins ownership. If Celcius didn't write such rules, the customers will win this legal court.
That is why if there are terms and conditions listed, we should read and understand them so that we will not end up regretting and blaming ourselves. But even if there are no terms listed, we should never stick to centralized exchanges no matter what because we are giving them the permission to have an access of our account when in fact, it should be only ourselves have the sole access to our own wallet.
1525  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and investing, and still very broke.why? Is it spiritual? on: January 05, 2023, 11:45:59 PM
People who believing into spiritual aspects in trading or investing are lacking in experiences; once you gather knowledge and experiences then you start believing into your skills by leaving off any kind of external factors.
I believe in spirituality in life but to say that someone who's good in trading and investing yet, not yet well with financial, there has nothing to do with spiritual about it. There are I know of spiritual law but it's not really connected to this.

I agree that it's about lacking of experience.

Don't know how to manage money, finances and someone might have just been from the lowest up to the top and then is having hard time on keeping up on what's happening to himself so, spending is like becoming a YOLO thing.
Spiritual aspects when it comes to trading and investing are just few points to consider, but it’s not really that significant. However, if you both trade and invest without knowledge, skills and experience, then you should not expect for it to be successful too. They can still be profitable for some time but definitely, those profits will not be sustainable.
1526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 05, 2023, 10:30:02 PM
I do not know about you guys, but I gamble because I like it and because it is a hobby as well as an addiction. I'm good with myself, as I already admitted to having an addiction but tried to find and apply techniques to avoid getting off track and spending all of my money on gambling. It's quite easy for me to control my gambling anxiety as I already follow strict rules that help me stay on the line.

What about you guys? Do you have any addiction to gambling? What drives you to gamble? Is it the long shot of having a big profit coming in or is gambling simply a way of spending time for you?

For me, If I know that there is a huge luck coming when I bet on the game. There are times that I just spend my extra money and even If I will win or lose it doesn't matter also if the online casino are providing bonuses such as deposit bonuses or cashback.
Well, bonuses and cash backs are certainly some of the highlights in gambling. But we know that it’s just rare to happen winning from them. And honestly, if we always gamble and lose our capital, for me that would not be fun anymore as I come to gamble to be mostly profitable than just to gamble and then lose them all. Although sometimes losses are just inevitable, but if we always gamble with luck and with some skills aside, I guess we can expect more winnings in gambling.
1527  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 05, 2023, 09:23:52 PM
That's definitely one of the things that you can consider when you are talking about trading and if that's what you have experienced so, why not?

For me, the people who are earning a lot are not so noisy about it and just keep it in a low profile unless it's an enormous amount of win and needs to be televised or something.
No one would want to trade without wanting profits in return, as there are a lot of successful traders but chose to be silent and stay low key despite of their huge wins or profits. Those are obviously doing trading to earn a living, regardless if its main source or not. As long as you have great strategies and skills in trading, trading will always be working and profitable in the long run.
1528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 02, 2023, 08:53:44 PM
Suppose I am doing business through an online Facebook page and website and want to accept Bitcoin. But now if I look at cryptocurrencies it comes with high volatility, and I have doubts whether accepting Bitcoin will be profitable for my business.
I really want to know your opinion on this and what are the initial steps I should take if I adopt cryptocurrency for my business? Because I see many people on the forum are taking steps to accept Bitcoin for businesses and that's why these questions araised in my mind.

Accepting bitcoin in your business will boost and maximize your future profits. Just don’t be bother with its current value and instead, accumulate more of it. Surely, you will gain huge amount of profits when time comes that bitcoin value will hit its new all time high, but that will only happen if you are highly determined to consider bitcoin as your long term investments. As bitcoin is best for long term investment more than any other cryptocurrency.
1529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on the future of Decentralised exchanges on: January 02, 2023, 08:24:46 PM
Will decentralised exchanges get more attention now that FTX secrets is all out? Will people now trust decentralised exchanges more than centralised exchanges? Cos the only thing still standing tall right now is Binance, I believe this is the only CEX people still give full face 😂  but it seems like Uniswap and Pancake will take the lead in near future?
Yes Binance could never be replace as trusted among cex and that would continue for more years to come. Somehow the event circulated on FTX, trigger some users to take a look deep on decentralized approach more. The convenience brought by cex somehow shattered due to a lot of losses of many people and that leaving trust on those very low.

Now that it happened. Surely many will do more security on their funds moving into non custodial wallets and services.
That’s the safest way to keep your funds instead, keeping them into non-custodial wallets. However, for senior citizens and those who are illiterate, who are still hodling their coins, I guess it’s hard for them to manage their hardware wallet and it would be better to just trust those centralized exchanges that have remain reputable and are still not hacked at the moment.
1530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I invest in cryptocurrency or start my business? on: January 02, 2023, 07:58:59 PM
It all depends upon you if you have the skills and knowledge about cryptocurrencies go with cryptocurrencies. But my suggestion is that only invest in cryptocurrencies if you have spare money in banks that you won't need to use on daily bases. And if you know business very well so it is wise to invest in business. You can do cryptocurrencies as side business.
Yes, people should always invest the amount they can afford to lose in cryptocurrency but Maaz Sultan there's no skill needed to invest in crypto what is needed is only knowledge.
I think the OP wants to be greedy, I believe her plan was to buy a whole BTC and if she still reading this I will advise her to both start the business and buy some fraction of BTC when she has some spare money she can DCA on Bitcoin.
Well, if OP will start seeing business to fulfill his greed, then I don’t think his investments will succeed in the future. It should always be noted that any successful investment takes time and sometimes are slow in progress, so if he’s greedy and only want quick profits, crypto investment won’t work for him. However, if he can be a good and patient crypto investor, and has also knowledge and expertise in running a local business, then he must try them both to maximize his future profits.
1531  Economy / Economics / Re: Every passing year seems progressively worse on: January 02, 2023, 07:44:04 PM
Perhaps my sitting all alone in my bed on New Year's Eve isn't helping.
Actually I think that is the main point... Problems, crisis, climate changes and conflicts have always been present in a global level every years, but we tend to over-absorb all these negative news when we are in a bad mood and discontented with our own lives, especially during Christmas and New Year, when it should be the happiest moment of the year, to be shared with people we love reciprocally.

Anyway, happy new year to everyone and good luck on your bitcoin endeavors!
Happy New Year to you as well! That 2023 may be different in a personal level, because the problems of the world aren't solvable!
The reason why despite all those negative circumstances that made us struggle in life, we should still stay having positive mindset and avoid all those negativity in life because that will only destruct our future perspectives in life. Let’s just accept the fact that there will always be inevitable problems that will sure to occur, but at least we’re not that weak that can’t withstand all those life’s challenges.
1532  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mistakes Successful People Never Make Twice on: January 02, 2023, 07:15:16 PM

CONCLUSION: No one is perfect. We are born to make mistakes in our journey of life but making same mistakes often results to a total failure. We should always learn to avoid making repeated mistakes and also learn from our previous mistakes to correct our journey in life.
No matter what we do, even if we are too careful of our decisions, mistakes will come without noticing until the results come out, and then started to figure out the mistakes we did. Oh yes, learning from the mistakes we did in the past leads our way to success but we can't deny that many people still commit mistakes because it was not just we learn from our mistakes, it is also how we change our mindset and be serious about doing it.

It is very important to listen to some useful advice from other people, otherwise.
Mistakes are part of the process, and that we should always learn from our mistakes  and not committing the same mistakes again and again, otherwise, mistakes will eventually make us doom and lead into failure. However, yes even if we always tend to be so much careful, there will always be inevitable mistakes that are unavoidable, but the good thing is we tend to become stronger and even more brainy from facing all these mistakes and challenges in life.
1533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 01, 2023, 09:59:18 PM
And according to Ryan Garcia's trainer, the fame Joe Goossen, Ryan is the harder puncher of the two,

Quote
“The thing is, I think per square inch, Ryan possesses a much heavier punch [than Davis]. I believe that for a particular reason. With that said, neither one of these guys want to get hit with the other guy’s best shot.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-packs-heavier-punch-tank-davis-says-trainer-joe-goossen--171395

Obviously, he will praise Garcia and tell us what advantage he has against Tank not just in terms of power though.

And I do agree, either one doesn't want to get hit by the other one because for sure this is going to be a knock out. And the one that blinks in this fight, will wake up in the canvass after they get hit.
It’s always expected that he will favor and praise his own pet because whatever the performance of Ryan, that will also reflect on the trainer’s performance on how he handle his trainee. Yes, Ryan has a heavier punch but Davis has also the best shot when inside the ring, as both of them are also considered world-class boxers. So with all those serious and heavy trainings they have both experiencing right now, I guess everyone deserves to witness another world class event that is obviously a must watch for all of us.
1534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers that don't understand basic gambling concepts. on: January 01, 2023, 09:40:12 PM
For some time now I have seen in this section of the forum a not small percentage of gamblers who do not understand basic statistical concepts of mathematics applied to gambling, such as Return to Player or Expected Value. As a result, it is not surprising that every now and then we see someone who thinks he has found a good system to win casino games by applying some variant of the Martingale. This is despite the fact that these are not complicated concepts and the information is easily accessible to everyone, it is not like 30 years ago. I would say that at least 25% of the people who write in this section fall into this category.

Do you have the same perception as me?

I think a lot of whiny threads of people telling how they ended up losing a lot more than they expected would be minimised if people understood these basic concepts. Although knowing the theory doesn't guarantee it 100% because we sometimes get carried away by emotions.

I am sure that some of those who think they understand these concepts but in reality do not will comment on this thread Grin.

Gamblers who don't understand the concept of gambling only become part of the profit source for a casino site.
They play without having basic knowledge and precise calculations, so they only follow their way of thinking. However, losing and losing money is of course what they get, while the wins belong to the dealer or the casino owner himself.
So understanding and strategy in gambling is very important to have. Even though having an understanding or strategy does not guarantee a win, at least it can minimize the possibility of losing in gambling.
However, I believe some gamblers are smart enough to understand those basic concepts in gambling, but they refuse to internalize it as they are blinded by personal desires and the greed to make bigger money in the process. So as a result, they are doom into losses and only the casino house benefits from it. There’s no wrong actually once you’re into gambling, since it’s a means of pleasure, but if you have misunderstood it’s basic concepts and follow on what you believed, that’s the time that you will really experience the worst scenarios in gambling.
1535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: January 01, 2023, 09:14:55 PM
If you have a look at the scam accusation section, you will find that no casino has a good reputation there. Each and every casino which has their ANN thread here, has at least one complaint against them; sometimes confiscated funds, delayed withdrawal, not paying the winning, freezing account etc. Why this is the principal of all the casinos? Why they can't operate without having any issues? They always do this shit; who knows what has been done with people who don't know how to deal with such a casino. Can you show me a thread that never had any reputation issues on this forum?

I do agree that many casinos have many scam accusations against them. But you are forgetting the fact my friend that these are scam accusations, not actual scam incidents. To accuse anybody you simply need to create a thread, and in order to prove that they actually scammed, proofs required. So to be honest I don’t mind seeing multiple accusations against a site until and unless those have solid proofs. And yes with big popularity the amount of accusations rises. So definitely if you see stake.com and prime dice, they have plenty of accusations against them, but all we know that they are best in the market.
Personally, those accusations do not matter at all, regardless if they are fake or not. As long as they come to find solutions on each problem and resolve them, that’s all that matters. And the fact that even reputable casinos are not free from accusations, but we have seen that despite all those issues, these reputable casinos have continued to serve us and give their satisfying services.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing national lottery smart or waste of time? on: January 01, 2023, 08:59:14 PM

But the reality is, such lotteries usually have way worse odds than any casinos or gambling sites. So, mathematically speaking, you're better off gambling your money there.

Thoughts?

But millions of people choose to ignore or do not know this, all they know is this is their ticket to escape poverty and change their life, even if it's almost impossible to hit the jackpot, we also have a lottery here and we have 9 games held daily because we supported our lottery because it is government-run and the proceeds of the profit are being used by our government in the health sector and for social welfare.
I play the lotto often, and I know that it's almost impossible to hit the jackpot but I support our government-run lottery because of the benefits our poor people are getting.
That’s one good thing about lottery, even if gamblers will rarely win, those amount that goes into gambling lottery house will still be benefited by the poorest people that really need assistance from the government, physically and financially. So there’s no really losses when we bet, as there are lotto beneficiaries await from it. The only thing we start losing is when we bet more than we can afford to lose. As lottery can changes everything from rags to riches, but it can also make us worst gamblers and put us into more poverty.
1537  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your takes on revenge gambling? on: January 01, 2023, 08:40:33 PM
In my opinion, an attempt to win back a loss is one of the most common mistakes that admit a gambler at a time when he was overwhelmed with emotion.

Gambling means that the casino has an advantage over the player and the longer you play the more likely you are to lose. If you think that it is so easy to return the money you lost you are very mistaken and you need to reconsider your views on gambling.

In general, you should try to play not to win, and for the pleasure of the game, but some gamblers never come to this understanding.
Gamblers hardly realize that gambling is to mostly lose, and not to make profits all the time. That the gambling casino house has always the advantage over the players, whether those games are luck or chance based, or even skilled based games. The reason why gamblers should always consider it as a means of entertainment rather than seeing as a means of living. Gambling will always be fun and exciting if we play and win, but we should also be more open to losses as they can always be inevitable, and just learn to accept them, but never to chase.
1538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Willing To Get Educated On The Bitcointalk Forum on: December 31, 2022, 07:43:32 PM
I recently joined Bitcointalk.org and now I realize there are many things to comprehend on this topic that I can't achieve on my own.

You'll only have trouble if you don't understand Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the first place. Because in the end, Bitcointalk is almost just like any other Bitcoin/cryptocurrency community.
Precisely. Bitcointalk forum talks mainly about bitcoin and the rest of cryptocurrencies so if you are not aware on it in the first place, then you better have to so you can fulfill your purpose why you enter bitcointalk first and foremost. Just take the process one step at a time so you can fully understand the essence of having bitcoin and altcoins in the crypto market. And with all the veterans here in the forum, it’s certain that you will learn a lot of new ideas and perspectives that you are going to embrace later on.
1539  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: December 31, 2022, 07:02:22 PM
In any case, I advise you to leave your feelings away when trading. In all cases, there is profit and loss in trading, which means that loss is part of the process of profit.
Trading revenge and trying to trade in order to please your hormones will lead you to more losses.
Don’t get too emotional when you are in trading because the moment you started losing, those emotions will burst out and become uncontrolled. That is why never involve your emotions when trading, although it’s a way quite impossible since we definitely put our feelings and emotions in all that we do. One thing is certain, if you see yourself you are in constant losing, then take a break and then think of new strategies that have higher chances that will work on you. Trading is not just all about profits, so never expect for trading to be always favoring your side.
1540  Economy / Gambling / Re: Consider open live casino (street gambling games) on: December 31, 2022, 06:35:42 PM
Wouldn't it be too dangerous to do this outside anyway? There's just a lot of perils and dangers that you might encounter. Even those who are doing vlogs that are just walking outside are often targeted by a lot of criminals and ill-minded people, how much more does this one? Also, wouldn't it be against local laws to gamble in the streets as it can be a cause of trouble for people and can be seen by kids/minors? It's a unique idea, but not something that is too inviting IMO.
I agree. I don't think it's safe to gamble in streets because everyone are seeing it even the minors that should not be exposed in this kind of activity. Moreover the money of those who gamble and win can be at risk for people around who have bad intention. Here in our place, you can't do this, they only allow the players to gamble inside the casino with permit and license. Anyway this is somehow interesting because it's different to what we used to. But it would be safe for op if he started this plan with a permit to allow the activity even it's in the street.
Yes. Not just the minors at risk but most likely the winners who have been seen by people around that they are keeping their money on them. That will create an interest to the strangers around who are just waiting for some targets to fall as their new victims. Regardless if that operating live casino is legal and has its own license, it would always create trouble especially if there are also liquors around that will trigger more the situation.
