1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the easiest way to explain bitcoin to a regular person? on: March 03, 2023, 09:59:11 PM
An ordinary person should have at least some knowledge of what the Internet is. Sometimes even that becomes a problem. But fortunately, there are fewer and fewer such people every year, and if people can read, then the network is full of resources for different levels of understanding. I don't think you need to explain anything yourself from the very beginning. Let the person first understand that he needs it, and after reading some of the resources that advise him on education, he should definitely have questions that you, OP, can explain in detail.
For me, this is the simplest and most resource-intensive process, since there is nothing difficult about self-education; you just need to support a person along this path.
That could work too as people nowadays have become smarter since everything they want to learn are already laid out on the internet, its just a matter of due diligence so they can find the valuable information they are looking. And when they have queries, then we can assist them and lead them to the right answer. But most of all, let them develop first the virtue of patience and hardwork as they can can still never survive investing in bitcoin if they only have knowledge alone without good virtues that are keys to success too.
1282  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: March 03, 2023, 09:12:26 PM
I have a lot of financial regrets and just like yours, most of it are investment opportunities that I saw before and was doubting if I should buy or not. In the end, I didn't because if I did, I may have just been living in luxury today.
We don't really have to go that far in picking one of the biggest financial regrets in our life. BITCOIN! A very long follower and yet I was always late when I try to buy. It's not really like a regret but more of getting the courage. I should've taken a loan from the bank and bought it with Bitcoin while its price is at 3 digits. But because there's so much FUD that circling around, I was afraid to take the leap.
You are not alone in your bitcoin regrets. A lot of us have missed the opportunity of buying it while it was still very cheap. We could have been millionaires today. But lets not dwell on it anymore as it won't be helpful for us to grow in the future. Like OP, don't be bothered anymore on what you have not bought in the past. Learn and invest in bitcoin, Im sure this will lead you to a lot of bigger opportunities once you succeeded from it.
1283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Willing to invest on bitcoin but having some challenges. on: March 03, 2023, 01:33:06 PM
How have you been making money so far? If you can earn through work, you can set aside a small amount of your salary to buy bitcoins when you are off the island, in places that provide internet, or at your friend's house.

This is a challenge for you and I'm sure you can try to beat that challenge to get a better future. Don't make this an obstacle; instead, this is the path you must go through because the process is like this. Keep believing that you can, even though there are challenges like this.
You don’t have to keep online all the time so you can invest in bitcoin. Just increase your knowledge first about bitcoin and crypto community whenever you have time to search on the internet, or download them so you can still continue learning offline. And if you are really willing to take the risk, then start saving some spare money from your present job and buy a portion of bitcoin whenever you have available funds. You can do it even at your neighbor’s house or when you go to a place where internet is available. That way, once you succeed from your bitcoin investment, you can pay for the installation of electricity and continue on your bitcoin journey.
1284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Set your mind on your goals and nothing else on: March 03, 2023, 12:41:33 PM
Family will always be family so whatever misunderstandings you had before, forget it and instead help them so they can also live a good life. However, in the case of your friends, I don’t think they become unsupportive to you, maybe they don’t just like the idea about crypto so they will never encourage you to embrace crypto. But maybe in some aspects, they are there to support you so they are still your real friends after all.

Do not focus on hatred or revenge, instead learn to see the positive side that you are now capable to help them so never turn your back on them. Life is uncertain, you will never know if you will still be successful in the future or you might end up as a failure, so never hesitate to help when you are capable of helping others.
1285  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: March 02, 2023, 09:52:15 PM
As a bitcoin supporter, would you consider adding bitcoin to your retirement savings

The bitcoins I can put away are meant to become someday the bulk of my retirement savings. But that's the bitcoins I can earn and that I manage to not spend.
The rest of my retirement savings come from the old channels, from the stable day job (but I expect that to just barely keep me fed).

So if bitcoin goes to oblivion before I get to the retirement age, I won't remain 100% uncovered. However, the chances are small for that.
If bitcoin gets to new highs... I hope I'll have the chance for a decent life at old age.

But all that is really far. For now.. it's easier to just stack sats and don't think that far.
Bitcoin can be a great source for retirement especially if it’s value grows consistently, which means we can be sure of making our last days more memorable and valuable. But if it ends up the other way around, we will also suffer and dealing with it could be hard especially in our retirement days. The reason why we need to balance our retirement, we can invest in fiat as well as in bitcoin too. That way, we will never suffer and struggle in the end if ever one of them fails.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 02, 2023, 09:17:31 PM
Another huge loss become public.
it seems that the famous Canadian singer has made a bet on Jake Paul that turned to be wrong Sad
400K USD has been wasted. It seems isn't the first time some public bets result in a loss ...

here more details:
https://news.bitcoin.com/rap-star-drake-loses-400000-bitcoin-bet-on-jake-paul-in-split-decision-loss-to-tommy-fury/

what lessons can be learned by this event?

Gambling moves with uncertainties. Even with highly anticipated winners still end up losers in the end, so if we can bet, then we should only do it not crossing our budget limit so that losing will never be too hard to accept. However, Drake is still a responsible gambler I guess as even if he loses that much, I can say that he’s not terrified after all knowing what he lose is nothing to what he gain in real life. And maybe if I’m with the shoe of Drake, I will also do that as long as I can manage all of my losses as well.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 27, 2023, 08:04:40 PM
Yep, that's how he evolved after his very first close against Nonito, he has evolved even more after that. He learn how to phase and then read his opponent and even have the mentality to survived a fight eve if he has that injury already.

And we all know after that fight, he beat Donaire by knockout and same with Butler.

So he is still getting stronger and smarter in any fight and keeps on progressing. So for sure he will know a thing or two against Fulton because he is a great fighter. Inoue has that ability to absorb every strengths of his opponents.
Inoue is on his prime and that makes him an incredibly dangerous fighter, not only he has the intelligence and skill to adjust his fighting style, he still has the physical capabilities to absorb a massive amount of damage and do whatever he wants on the ring, so it is not surprising that despite being the challenger the many different boxing fans around the world think of him as the favorite on his fight against Fulton.
Inoue is not just an ordinary professional boxer, as he can be the monster in the ring and possess a ferocious punching power that makes him strong and a dangerous opponent. The reason why Fulton should better show his best shot when the match begins, otherwise he might experience some brutal body blows from his opponent that will make Inoue defeat him inside the ring.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 27, 2023, 07:41:31 PM
I urge you to watch the kick off press conference:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvz6ai6ZqFU

Hehehe, it was very heated, Benavidez mouth was running and trash talking the hell out of Caleb Plant.

It was very intense that they can go fighting in that podium. Maybe Caleb hit it on the mark when he says that Benavidez has issues before like not making weight and the drugs that's why he is so furious and continue to attack Caleb verbally.

But in any case it's already living to the hype in their first press conference.

Obviously, Benavidez hates Caleb Plant there's too much disrespect for Caleb Plant, I consider Benavidez a better fighter but I want Plant to knock him out, Benavidez is too brazen its understandable because the drug issue is very sensitive for Benavidez, this is just the first conference I expect the thrash talks to be more heated and they may even have a brawl if Caleb keeps hitting him.
Thrashtalks like this with both fighters hating each other are good for the preparation of the fight night.

I would agree that maybe Benavidez went overboard here, there's so much hate and disrespect, you can actually feel it when watch the pressere.

So by now it's hard to like the personality of Benavidez and his father, and remember that this is the just the first press conference, just wait till the face off and maybe we will see another Canelo vs Plant action hehehe. Let's see if Benavidez can back up all his trash talking, we know that he has the tools though, but Caleb after this, might be fueling inside and wanted to punch that big mouth of David.
You’re right. Plant must have been disrespected so much that he’s eagerness to fight back Benavidez has completely reach the highest level. Well, this is a good motivation either to finally become one of the toughest boxer as his opponent is always tough and hard to beat inside the ring. But I still believe trash talking never make them great at all, unless if Benavidez can prove all his words against Plant and he can prove to anyone that he can dominate Plant inside the ring.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: February 27, 2023, 06:43:37 PM
At most, I would use $100 to bet on that team even if I was 100% sure I won. I don't want to take too big a risk for a bet, especially if I use too much money. I'd rather play it safe with the money I can afford to lose. That way, if the game turned around, my loss wouldn't be more than I could afford.

People who frequently place million dollar bets succeed in convincing the casinos that they have a lot of money and maybe they have also gone through the KYC process to be allowed to use big money. We will not know about it for sure and can only suspect it. What's important, we know how to limit ourselves by not placing bets we can't afford.
Good for you if you set a limit in betting, regardless if you know that you have high chances in winning the bet. However, for high rollers, they will always bet in maximum amount and expect huge amount of reward. But most likely with this given situation, it’s like you are trying to be deceived with a match fixing. So I don’t think it’s safe to place millions in betting. There’s no assurance that you will win from it since gambling will always be unpredictable. And it will always create suspicion no matter how hard you try to bet from different bookies as betting with such a huge amount in the last minute will always may be somehow unusual.
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 27, 2023, 11:26:24 AM
Thus, we are still in control of choosing the team we want and will not depend on AI.
If we depend on AI, it can make us lazy to learn and we will never be able to develop to continue studying analysis.
We can use AI's collected information but cannot trust it 100% because we are responsible for what we decide.
There will be times when we will be faced with difficult decisions because AI and our analysis have collected a lot of data, but we still have to be able to choose based on what we believe.

It is not impossible, AI can be used by gamblers to collect as much information data regarding the teams that we are analyzing. obviously, this is very helpful, and can shorten our time when trying to analyze a match that will take place. well, related to the information obtained from this source of artificial intelligence technology.

Of course, we should not immediately believe it or it can be said to swallow information whole without first looking for the validity of the information. We can use Al according to its function, but not to predict the results of a match. So, I don't think this is a matter of making us lazy to learn, but rather to find all the information we need, especially the latest information. after that, we can conclude based on the analysis that we have done. so basically, all decisions are again in the hands of the gamblers.
AI is actually helpful if we do some queries and would want to find some reliable answers. But I don’t see it safe and reliable in gambling especially in making some predictions as to what or where to bet. Having the fact that my money is at risk, my final decision still depends on what my mind tells. Although AI makes some right and accurate datas because the datas were extracted from different sources, but we know it’s far different when we are gambling. Everything should still be based on our own research and analysis, and no any artificial intelligence can replace it.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 27, 2023, 10:56:56 AM

-snip

Frauds and rigged games could really happen but just like on what most people been saying that it do happen mostly on smaller leagues.
yes indeed such scams are usually more common in local leagues which are less conspicuous when lots of people are betting.
but frauds as the OP mentioned can also happen in major leagues which we don't know about. because there used to be cheating or fraud like that when the dealer bribed players to lose matches without scoring goals.
so, incidents like this can be a lesson for us to be careful when placing bets. because what seems to win doesn't necessarily win, sometimes it's the opposite.
I believe it’s not only happening in local leagues, because even in major leagues the scam still happens but we can’t really pinpoint as to what or where it took place but we know it’s always possible to happen. As long as there is greed, irresponsible players or coaches or even organizers will always be tempted to cheat. That’s why we should always make some good research first before placing bets to avoid being deceived.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 26, 2023, 09:59:36 PM
The match is between Social Media and Real Boxing. Team Social Media represented by Jake Paul and the team Real Boxing is represented by the brother of Tyson, Tommy Fury. The most hyped match is scheduled for tomorrow, and we don't know whether this is going to be an entertainment or real boxing. Jake Paul who isn't a professional boxer have won all the six bouts and this had made the match against Tommy Fury even more interesting.
Well, it’s good to see a boxing match with a quite bit entertainment lol. But honestly, I am expecting a good fight from these two boxers because both are professional boxers and are both undefeated in their careers. So we’ll see who will be the next undefeated and the most reputable boxer for tonight as the highlight of the game is about to start. Now we’re about to learn it and see it for ourselves.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 26, 2023, 09:29:01 PM
This is a good matchup for Donaire, and I have a feeling that he will be the favorite in this fight once the odds are out. His opponent has three losses, but is a very active boxer, having won all three fights last year.

I believe most of the posters here will be rooting for Donaire, but it would still be nice to put up a poll to determine who has the majority of the votes.

If Donaire is listed as the favorite, I doubt he will be a heavy favorite. He's coming off a big loss against Inoue, so he doesn't have much momentum, unlike Santiago, who is currently on a winning streak.
And to think that Santiago is a lot younger compared to Donaire, even if Donaire will be the favorite here, surely this fight will be hard to win for Donaire but if he will focus on their camp’s game plan and improve his performance in the ring, then we will see Donaire beating up Santiago inside the ring. But I must say, Santiago is never an easy boxer, with all his winning streaks last year, his vigor and fierce in boxing is incomparable.
1294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Awareness and Redemption on: February 26, 2023, 08:59:52 PM
Good day everyone. When a friend told me how he makes money from bounties, I joined Bitcointalk and have solely participated in bounties ever since. I've been in bounty for a while, and during that time I've heard and read some topics about how unproductive and time-wasting they are here. However, I stayed because I wanted to confirm and see it for myself, and from what I saw and experienced, I realized how unproductive and time-wasting they are.
I ultimately made the decision to make amends and resolved to be more engaged with other forum sections to learn more about it and, ideally, discover Bitcoin. I'm hoping I still have time to start over and prove myself in this place. I need guidance

Bounties are most of the time not worth. However, there are plenty of good opportunities in this forum if you are willing to visit the Services Board,  where you can find some jobs and campaigns that pays with bitcoin. They pay good money some times.

Anyway, you need to engage yourself in useful discussions so you can rank up your account and join those services.
Right. Gone are days when bounties are still profitable and are providing us good income. So giving your time and efforts into bounties are not worthy anymore. However, if you can develop some skills related to crypto, you can earn a living from it. Moreover, if you can rank up from your position and be a quality poster, you can also participate in signature campaigns which are proven highly profitable these days. Just explore the forum and you will have more ideas on how to stay profitable in crypto.
1295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 26, 2023, 08:44:25 PM
Someone met me and we were had a conversation on trade and he told me that he has used all he has been saving for trading and asked me if he can make something out of it and I asked him if he had any knowledge about it and he said no.

My question is can someone that doesn't have any knowledge about trading and how the system work can he or she trade and be profitable in it? Since at some points it has some compliments bof luck.
After some time of discussion, he has been told that it's just for them to choose on the candles sticks if it's up the they want to choose or the one going up just with this idea can they trade with such an idea.
so I wan to know if it's right for the person to begin trading?
If you will follow the basic rule in trading, beginners should gain sufficient knowledge first before thinking on making profits from trading. Because trading is hard and difficult, so trading without knowledgeable in the first place will only end up into committing mistakes and losses. That is why trading is not advisable for beginners because they will only mess up in trading and waste their money and time knowing they never get the right concept in trading. Although trading is for everybody, but not everyone is expected to find profits and fortune in trading.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does this help you win when you're gambling? on: February 26, 2023, 08:23:09 PM
I play for fun and to win, even though I know the odds are stacked against me and that my favorite casino game-slot-is primarily a game of chance. But since it is my hard-earned money I am wagering, I need to have some sense of winning. Gambling is both entertainment and serious business for me.

Usually, I visit a brick-and-mortar casino with friends. We drink, we eat, we catch up, and we play games. This is the fun part of it. We just soak ourselves up in the environment, the ambience, the laughter, etc. A similar thing goes for when I visit online casinos. I may play a slot theme that resembles a movie I've seen in the past or something I feel remotely connected to. I try to enjoy the graphics, the sound, and many more. I have been fortunate to have some winnings and encounter losses as well. All in all, I do my best to gamble responsibly, which is always the best way to have fun.
I play gambling not only for fun, but certainly for some profits too. But i never chase my losses because that will only make me fall into another losses and may even end up getting gambling addiction. This works for me in gambling through all these years. However, I would say that if you just gamble for fun without any profit intention, that would be much better because you won’t have to regret in the end if ever you lose huge amount but I believe most gamblers today do not just gamble for fun since they will do everything too so they can win significant amount of profits. But the most important is you are gambling responsibly and you never crossed your limits when gambling. That way, you will never fall to gambling addiction.
1297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: February 25, 2023, 09:59:10 PM
Not sure what you've head/read, but ChatGPT is just a chatbot(a good one, to say the least) — how will a chatbot exactly be good or bad as for helping a person with his/her trading? It's not like a chatbot can predict the future.
I guess it can help but when it comes to real trading, it will never be reliable. Our own knowledge and honed skills in trading will still be the best sources on how we can make our trades successful and profitable. ChatGPT is only a chatbot, it can be useful if you are just making some queries and it will give you somehow good answers, but knowing trading is always unpredictable, this ChatGPT can never predict what will be the future outcome of your trading.
1298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 25, 2023, 09:45:11 PM
Technology has made life somehow easy for us today. In the days of our father, they had no idea about working online, all their work to make money were done physically, and with strength, either they engaged in mini or mega business that will provide money for them.We thank God for bitcoin, that came as a messiah,to enrich the hopeful. Now my father asks me about my shop, and where it's located,I told him I'm bitcointalking, and he doesn't know what I'm talking. What do yours tell you?
Bitcoin is always a blessing for me. The moment I started earning from bitcoin, I told my parents about it that’s why they know exactly as to how I am earning online. So you should have done the same thing so that your father will have an idea on how you are making a living. Although I suggest it’s not really reliable to focus on bitcointalking as your main job, but it’s undeniable that the profits we gained from it are also quite big, even bigger if you are just a minimum wage earner. But if you have the right mindset, getting a main job is still much better and bitcointalking will only serve as your side job, that will give you better financial security in the future.
1299  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 25, 2023, 09:34:14 PM
I do not think anyone should get the purpose of saving wrongly. People save for many reasons, like for nvestment, to tackle emergencies etc. You can even save money because you want to buy something that year or later and you do not want to go for installmental payment which will require paying more over certain period of time than buying at once.
Saving in the first place is never a wrong concept. People save for different reasons, so whatever it is, knowing it will be beneficial and useful in the future, then it’s always right and create a positive mindset. You could save to buy your dream car, or provide education insurance for your children, or build a business, it’s always the right thing to save because if you won’t do that, you will have higher chances to experience financial struggles in the future.
1300  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 24, 2023, 09:42:06 PM
You can try to spend less all the time while the future is uncertain. But it wouldn't be right to make the money you save to be untouchable. One that you can do is sell your watch and jewelry to a pawnshop or to your rich friend as your last resort.

It's not good to hide your fiat money these days because inflation will eat up its purchasing power which in the end, you won't be able to buy anything out of it. If there is anything that you could make untouchable savings, its BTC in your private wallet.
Great idea. There’s no chance that our savings will remain untouchable for the rest of our lives. We save so we can use it in the future, so meaning we save so we can spend it in the future and not to keep it untouchable. However, it’s not that useful if we insist saving fiat for life as it’s value will only depreciate in time. Better shift to bitcoin and invest and keep it for as long as you want, at least the profits are very huge by then.
