Hi guys, for those of you that asked for this here it is, a quick start guide to building Unobtanium on Linux. https://cryptoguild.qnetau.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=36

I will post a guide on how to build on Windows 32 AND 64 bit as soon as I troubleshoot a few more things.

Siameze!!! Thank you!!!  Grin

Thanks, I hope it is useful. Perhaps we can find someone that can post OSX instructions there too. Would be nice to have this to avoid the update fiasco we had a few days back.
It could have gone better, no doubt about it.  Thank you for stepping up to help. Others have also stepped in to share their expertise. People like you make Uno strong.

What should we do to get this running again?

I have 0.8.1, and am connected only to 0.8.1 connections. I'm mining with 2mhz, which should be enough to find blocks at this difficulty, but I'm not getting any blocks after several hours.

Would it help if for the time being, we created 66.conf files that that only connect to other 0.8.1 wallets?

I did this by using connect=(0.8.1 node ip)  and limiting  my maxconnections= to prevent older wallets from connecting.

Is there anything else we can do to jump start this?

You deserve it.

Thank you Pnoch!!

Pnoch has been in our community for quite a while, and has compiled previous Mac wallets.

I can provide hosting.  I would, however, like to hear validation from other community members that they agree this wallet works and is safe. I'm confident it does and is, but I don't have a Mac, and so I am looking for some consensus on this as a matter of process.

For what it's worth, virusstotal scan is clean.

Happy to see UNO finally makes merged mining possible, after plan with DUO fail I was thinking this will never be done.

I'll point my miners to mine UNO merged! Smiley

Good to see you here again, Marcetin!  I am testing the merge pools today, presently hashing on mmpool.  It's going well!

Hello,
I would be glad to work with you to update the info about Unobtanium at http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/coins/show/uno

Website is now:  http://unobtanium.uno

Main explorer: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno

Total number of coins today is almost exactly 195,000

It would be good to see the mining/difficulty states.  Diff today is about 50 million.

Please PM me if I can provide any links or other info. Thanks,

Uno is moving in the right direction.

Auto update sounds great to me.

Keep your eyes out for good, trustworthy devs who would like to share their skills with Unobtanium, and in the process gain our admiration and the cred of working on a long lived, respected, vetted fair launch crypto with a decent marketcap, which gets media attention, backed by an awesome community, and a great story. If you are such a dev, PM me.

I am sticking with it for the long haul, especially due to the correlation with physical metals. I fully intend to build the majority of my projects on top of UNO.
Awesome!! Cheesy

Bryce emailed moments ago to say:

"Everything is merged, including the windows build fix.
You can say 'It's all done.'"

iSpace mining pools tweeted that they have began merge mining Uno.

I have asked them for clarification about how to get started, but it appears you just start mining Bitcoin with them, which makes perfect sense.

Here's an udpate from iSpace:

Hey, guys. Watch the tone please.  No need to make it personal.

I get what Patman's saying. He'll have to do better than that to offend me, but I don't even think he was trying.   He just needs to get his equipment running, and is voicing what many of you are feeling.. I get it.

I'm passing comments on to BW, so if he's not reading them here he's getting them by email.  I know there's concern that official wallets have not been released yet. I'm not thrilled about it either, and I don't have all the answers. Thanks to 8bitcoder for the stopgap Windows wallet. That helped the network a lot, but we're not done.

I'm looking for someone to compile the Mac wallets. If you know someone trustworthy, please pm me and I'll reach out. I'd offer a modest bounty to the right person.

Yes, the time of all this could have been done better.  I'm doing what I can with what I have, and like you all I'm trying to help when I think I have the answers.

I believe Uno is headed in the right direction, and am working to help clear these rocks off the road. I'm here long term, no matter what, and responding to all PM's.

Could someone post a few updated nodes? I got a 32bit system sitting here with blockchain not updated since prior fork and i don't want to mess that chain up with the wrong nodes and the 8bitcoder wallet doesn't run on that 32bit system. So in case someone would have some updated nodes that would be great for my case. Thanks.

Click on "Node List" for 0.10 and you'll get nodes recently seen on the network.

1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Multipools on: May 13, 2015, 05:58:00 PM
As merge mine pools continue to add incredible hash to Uno, we will see the closure of other pools that mine Uno directly. It doesn't make economic sense for them to compete against the difficulty that the merge pools throw up. We knew this would happen, of course.  Merge mining was delayed to block 600k to provide a "thank you" of sorts to these pools, who have mined Uno blocks from 1 Un rewards down to .03125 Un/block.

For pool miners and solo miners who want to continue supporting Uno, consider joining a merge pool like mmpool.org where you can mine Uno along with Bitcoin, Namecoin and other Sha coins that support authpow.

Another option is to join a multipool where you you can receive Uno payouts.  The multipool uses your hash to mine the most profitable coins, converts those coins to Uno, and then sends Uno to your wallet.

A multipool worth a look is Jumbucks pool. They have been in the Uno community for months now. You can mine with your sha, x11 or scrypt hash. All of your earnings can be paid out in Uno.

Jumbucks Multipool

If there are other multipools, I would be glad to list them.
