1542  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin is already illegal in China on: April 09, 2013, 12:56:48 PM
"Legality" is pretty fluid in definition in China.... and they have some many dollars to convert!

+1

"Unlike many other major civilizations where written law was held in honor and often attributed to divine origin, law in early China was viewed in purely secular terms and its initial appearance was greeted with hostility by Confucian thinkers as indicative of a serious moral decline, a violation of human morality, and even a disturbance of the total cosmic order" - this is from Wikipedia - and at least this statement is correct.
1543  Economy / Speculation / Re: We've hit $200. Don't sell too much... The bitcoin price is about to EXPLODE!!! on: April 09, 2013, 12:50:11 PM
Don't sell your coins till $2000, the price will rise faster!!

Sounds like some type of financial advice. Where's your license?
1544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOIN IS TOO SLOW TO EVER SUCCEED AS ONLINE CURRENCY on: April 08, 2013, 06:06:37 PM
actually, bitcoin transactions are faster than paypal/credit card transacrions.

you can count a CC/PayPal transaction roughly as final as a bitcoin 0-confirmation, the speed here is the same (instant). however, PP/CC can be reversed for months after the transaction, bitcon transactions cannot be reversed after a few confirmations.

Yep, just require customer data (email, name, address, etc.) and blacklist the customer / don't ship / stop service if it doesn't confirm later.

if bitcoin wants to challenge

Bitcoin is not a company, but a currency and some companies using Bitcoin are allowing you to do transactions instantly.
1546  Other / Off-topic / Re: USA vs EUROPE on: April 08, 2013, 02:33:08 PM
Kind of depends where. Compton vs. Bosnia? Fuck son, you're dicked two ways to Sunday. But Frankfurt vs. Minneapolis? It's a whiskey vs. beer question. Gonna come down to what you like more.

LOL, yes.

btw.: Are we talking about USA - EU or USA - Europe? There are some countries in Europe that are not part of the EU: Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Bosnia, Serbia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus,....
1547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Worthless on: April 08, 2013, 01:37:48 PM
It is impossible/infeasible to counterfeit Bitcoin using today's technology.

My point was: Even if it's possible to do it today - it's possible to detect it and fix it.
1548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something that might severely limit Bitcoin's growth potential. on: April 08, 2013, 01:31:07 PM
We need more people with this mentality. Weak hands willing to sell their coins CHEAP!

1549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something that might severely limit Bitcoin's growth potential. on: April 08, 2013, 01:00:22 PM
i will for aslong there's real money to be made in bitcoin and this forum is just a side kick for entertainment

You remind of the people who bought BTC for $30+ and cried / complained after it came back to $2, but maybe it works for you. Good luck with your bubble mentality!
1550  Other / Off-topic / Re: USA vs EUROPE on: April 08, 2013, 12:42:39 PM
The best place to live is probably somewhere in Asia in the future.

You can't really compare "the US and Europe" or "the US and the EU"- it strongly depends on the state & country (I'm not sure about this, but I think the difference is bigger in Europe).

I wouldn't move to the US.

Quote
USA because it is more stable comparing to EU.

There's only the impression of stability in the EU ("fiscal cliff" news) or the US ("cyprus" news) when you hear what's wrong on the other side of the world.
1551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Worthless on: April 08, 2013, 11:47:28 AM
That was true with gold but bitcoin isnt shiny so people want to hold it. People simply like its ease of use. Thats why it has potential to replace known currency.

However gold and other precious metals are not transparent. You'll never know if someone is producing gold in lab or what the limitation is - if someone is trying to make a double spend - it's possible for everyone to detect it. It's also more expensive to verify if a gold bar is real and pure.
1552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something that might severely limit Bitcoin's growth potential. on: April 08, 2013, 11:05:28 AM
I'm unsure if Bitcoin is really the optimal p2p currency.  Tor works without fees; why can't Bitcoin be designed differently to work the same way?

Tor works without fees, because many people are relaying for free, however the system is extremely slow compared to VPN services, because without fees it allows for abuse of the system.
1553  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoins? on: April 07, 2013, 08:58:06 PM
Okay I see a payment has just shown up.  I apologize for my hasty and harsh criticism. ( its no excuse but it has been a bad weekend for me in terms of family issues )

Apology accepted.
1554  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FREE BITCOIN Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto on: April 07, 2013, 07:39:04 PM
Oh really?  You run a website that promises to pay something for the service of people viewing your ads, which you make money on, and you think you are not obligated to make good on those promises?

The 'promise' was limited to a balance of 0.01 BTC due to mass abuse and it costs more to keep it running so I'll close it.
1555  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FREE BITCOIN Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto on: April 07, 2013, 06:10:11 PM
They had a minimum payout and so one had to let their balance build up before they could withdraw.
And now they shutdown without paying out that balance that they owed me, and many others I am sure.

Hello, I have the funds to pay everyone who has an outstanding payment - of course I won't pay people who came here more than once per 12 hours (via proxy, VPN, TOR) or people who are on blacklists.

I have no obligations to pay anyone, but I'll be paying. It's just not worth to run it any longer, because it costs a lot more than it makes.

1559  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let`s file a lawsuit against Butterfly Labs on: April 05, 2013, 07:35:03 AM
Crooks like BFL and paid fanboys like you are the reason why bitcoin is not widely accepted AS A CURRENCY.

I'm not getting paid for anything I post here - or anywhere else. Do they offer something like that? Tongue
It's always your decision to buy something or invest in something - it always starts with a customer making a bad decision (e.g. investing in products of a brand new/unknown business). I also made some bad decision, but I tried to find consensus and got most of my BTC back.

Hahaha... Oh boy... The oldest rule of marketing is "Customer is the king".

As long as he/she is paying. And it seems you're asking others to file a lawsuit against BFL and publicly complaining about them rather than trying to get your money back → costs for a company (reputation/legal costs) > income: you're definitely not a king.

They think bitcoin is not a currency but just A METHOD OF PAYING $US!

How do you know what they think? If more employees wanted to get paid in BTC and other companies they're working with did it, it would be possible, but right now most companies producing something need to have government money.

If the future of bitcoin depends on such crooks like BFL, bitcoin will always be a lame currency that will always need a crutch ($US) to move around! Is that really what we all want? No, thanks!

The future of bitcoin doesn't depend on them.

It is very simple indeed. If a company can not handle BTC/USD exchange risk they should not announce that they accept payments in BTC. Period!

You want to get the same amount of BTC back and you're asking for that after the exchange rate increased a lot. For government issued money it's possible to do that, because it's being printed all the time, but paying with bitcoin and asking for a refund of the same amount is like asking to get your gold/silver back after the exchange rate increases. Could you make a company and handle this after Bitcoin goes up by >%500 ? I highly doubt it.

A coin of the great leader should be in gold platinum-190, anything else is blasphemy.
