1541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did they not know about the importance of Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2023, 03:11:04 AM
I think it's more of the early history of Bitcoin here. And there are a lot, throughout it young years and others have included a link.

Again, we really don't know what the future will bring and so there could be others there who had a ton of bitcoins early and then lost their access. Oh wait there was one guy, Man makes last-ditch effort to recover $280 million in bitcoin he accidentally threw out.

And seeing this right now, for us, we should be happy to be given the chance to buy and HODL and see how our BTC investments will grow in the future.
1542  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 03, 2023, 09:15:02 AM
I'm one of those who voted No,

- market seems to be losing it's bullishness, we had like 4-5% slump in the last 24 hours.
- I want to be bullish, but seems to be that maybe the buyers are really pressure right now

But let's see, hope I'm wrong, (although majority of my predictions are wrong anyway  Wink).
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 03, 2023, 08:13:12 AM
Lomachenko has predicted that Tank Davis will win against Garcia.

2023 Vasiliy Lomachenko favors Gervonta Davis over Ryan Garcia, talks Fury vs Usyk

Quote
On a Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia matchup
“I said before it’s very interesting fight. It depends how they prepare for this fight. If they prepare 100%, both, it will be very interesting and very hard for both, tough for both. Because they understand boxing and I think, my opinion, Gervonta Davis will win.

“He’s very technical, he has the power, he has the speed, and he knows how he needs to move. And he always fight with guys who are (taller) than him.”

I've also read some posts suggesting that Ryan Garcia doesn't like Lomachenko's prediction and would like to fight Lomachenko after he knocks out Tank Davis. What do you think - is Garcia being too disrespectful by making Lomachenko's prediction too personal?
Lomachenko could probably beat Ryan Garcia but that fight will not happen for another 2 years and Lomachenko will be further from his prime and I would give Ryan Garcia the edge because he will develop experience and only get better. Lomachenko can only get worse. Loma wins against Devin Haney and probably pushes to get this Ryan Garcia fight because it will be another big pay check before he retires but I do not think he is taking his career too seriously. He is just fighting so he can earn as much money before he retires. I do not know if he will win against Devin Haney but if he does I think that is the path he will take and will retire shortly after the Ryan Garcia fight.

Ryan Garcia might not be interested in Loma if he loses against Haney. Ryan Garcia always looks for big fights that will give him more attraction and money, and I'm sure he is confident enough that he will beat Tank Davis. But let's see if that will happen.

Right now, all he can do is use his loud mouth to attract the attention of fans. But once he suffers a defeat, that kind of marketing strategy will no longer be useful for him.

It will obviously take a big hit as far as marketing for Ryan Garcia though if he lost this one against Tank David.

But regarding the fight on Haney vs Loma - Haney has been opening his mouth already and try to trash talk Loma, not sure if Loma is aware though or have answers those. But in any case, it might be that Devin has the advantage based on how he destroyed Kambosos, but we can't still discount the fact that Loma is still Hi-Tech and maybe gave us a surprised performance against Devin Haney when they clash.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 03, 2023, 07:40:04 AM
I think though that if ever Floyd will have to unwind his career fighting...

the guy is 47 years old, it's already a very old age knowing that the lifestyle of these guys is a lot of sex, drugs, alcoholic drinks, sleepless nights, I think he's about time to retire from Boxing even for fights exhibition, because in one day he could arrive at an exhibition fight and suffer a blow that could harm his health. according to a google search I did, the guy has a fortune of $450 million, with that money he can live well until death, even if he continues with his lifestyle

I don't know if he can do well in other areas besides Boxing, maybe being a Boxing trainer for new talents would be a good option for him, he wouldn't stop doing what he likes, he would be helping people who want to have a future in Boxing and he could also continue in the same Boxing environment, but as most of these Boxing guys are greedy, they prefer to be promoters or agents of some rookie fighter to earn a lot of money thanks to the rookie who has talent, greed has already corrupted the hearts of many fighters famous, the guys forgot humility a long time ago, they already have so much money, but they refuse to retire until they create exhibition fights

Not sure about Floyd though, so we are not sure if he is drinking or taking drugs. Because if we look at it, seems to be taking his health seriously. As what his motto is, "Health comes first". And this might be the reason why he stays on top and never lost to the best of them.

He has promotion called TMT, "The Money Team", and he has the Mayweather promotions, so he has the experience already outside of boxing. Not sure if he still greedy or maybe he is, because he has an estimated net worth of about $1.1 Billion.
1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 03, 2023, 07:00:49 AM
Yes it's going to be a war between them based on their style what I like between these two is there are no thrash talks involved, and they both have respect for each other I'm looking forward to their weigh-in and last Face off before fighting in the ring, I like Magsayo to win I read that he is the underdog but I bet against my cousin that Magsayo will win via stoppage, so I'm hoping to get an extra buck this weekend.

Figueroa, doing a debut in the 126 lbs is hungry for the title. On the other hand, Magsayo that previously holds the title which he lost to Vargas wants to take back the title again which he got in a tough way when he faced Gary Russell Jr.

Really expect a war as both boxers want the title and nothing else. To be able to achieve that title they need to win to face Rey Vargas. I want to see Magsayo win the fight so he will get a chance for a rematch against Rey Vargas. If he didn't beat Figueroa here, he's nothing compared to Vargas.

Yes, but it's more on Magsayo's side, the pressure on him is big at this fight, if he will lost here, gonna be back to back for him, same for Brandon but at least he can go back to 122 lbs if he wants to.

So it's war and there are news that Magsayo's camp says that someone is going to be knockout in this fight.

But they say it's not Mark, so they are looking for a huge win here by a knockout.
1546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: March 03, 2023, 01:42:01 AM
I'd like to say just as what others thinking about taking just for a few but not entirely bag-holding it. If you think that there's sort of big thing that will be affected positively then take a few so that you won't just miss it. You don't have to believe the positive news that comes out specific for it or any other altcoin because those are just buzz makers trying to give some little pump to a coin. So to answer it with yes or no, yes but just minimal for how much you think is worth to be in it. But if you think that it won't do much for you then just take it as a no then.

And it means it hard to answer though, I mean at some point we all know that XRP used to be a good project to begin with, they are even behind BTC and ETH for a long time. But then we also know that they are a bankers crpyto, centralized at the very definition and that's why there are inventors who shy away from XRP even if it looks very solid. So really depends on how you will look at it from the outside, so yeah, maybe it's not that bad to have some in your portfolio, but not to big that it will be in the majority, IMHO.
1547  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin go back to 19000 on: March 02, 2023, 05:42:50 AM
Yeah, there are even predictions as high as $50,000 this year and it still makes sense. But to achieved it, there could be swing in prices first, getting to $35k then maybe a dip below and then shoot up.

So more likely the chances are high for Bitcoin to reach $30,000 or higher this year as compare to $20,000 or below.

Let's see, the month is about to end in a week and we could be in the $24,500 price range.
I'm not betting on high hopes about $50K this year, but at least $30K has high hopes to touch. This is not to say that I am not optimistic about the price of bitcoin, but the swings that occurred during the month of February have at least slightly wavered me in optimism.

I think that's the bullish predictions for this year, still though $50,000 might be exaggerated by some analyst, but who knows, this is just like 50% of our current price.

The price trend is currently sideways between $23K and $24K, but I hope interest will rise more in March and turn both price ranges into support. Meanwhile, I wouldn't consider that $19K repeatable, we're already above that for now.

I will remain bullish as well that this might we might go all out and reach $25,000 and maintain on that price. And if that happens, then it's good for all of us, overall the ecosystem is very much as bullish as we can be prior to the halving next year. We are still in the first quarter though so a lot of things can happen.
1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: March 02, 2023, 05:21:51 AM
I have been a crypto enthusiast for some time now, thou I have lacked consistentency, but over the years I have seen people who have carved out good lives for themselves with crypto, either by direct or indirect investment.,as a result I wish to invest in crypto with cash, but with minimal knowledge,so I seek the help of this house in advise on which crypto to invest in currently as someone who is just getting to learn about crypto currency.

Since you have minimal knowledge as you said, I don't really recommend putting your money in altcoin, though there were exceptions where you could also put your money in to those top 20 alts, but I would recommend to just put your money to Bitcoin. It's gonna be a good timing today to buy Bitcoin while the price are still low. In the next couple of years you'll have your money doubled or tripled for sure. So, accumulating at this early will give you more time to add fractions to your wallet.

Most likely the top 10 altcoins, I wouldn't extend the list to top 20 as there could be some chances, top 10 for me might fit the best description to the OP. And obviously, although he is more of asking for altcoins, I think majority will agree to stick to bitcoin itself as the chances are slim that it will fall like the rest of altcoins.

But altcoins like Ethereum, Binance and Cardano is a good bet for me.

Actually I have those, but majority of my portfolio consists of BTC.
1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 02, 2023, 05:07:29 AM
[snip]
I think it will still be the style of Fulton vs the power of the Monster. Their skills sets might be equal at this stage. But the power will be at Inoue as we have seen that he has that knockout power. And for sure Fulton knows this one and going to try to avoid it as possible without getting hit.
That is an interesting matchup between Stephen Fulton and Naoya Inoue. As you mentioned, Fulton's style and Inoue's power will likely play a big role in the fight. While their skill sets may be relatively equal --but for me, Inoue's knockout power is certainly something to watch out for. I have this doubt and I don't think if you notice this too, Fulton will likely try to avoid getting hit by Inoue's power punches while using his own technical skills and footwork to try and outmaneuver him. It will be a test of Fulton's defensive abilities as well as his ability to counter Inoue's power with his own shots --it is worth noting that Fulton has shown his own punching power in his recent fights, so he should not be underestimated in this regard

Yeah, we will definitely be looking for Inoue's power in this division. Again, others might question if he still has it in at 122 lbs since he beat almost everyone at bantamweight with a KO. But since he steps up the plate, this will be his biggest test for far as he will be facing the champion at this weight class. But 4 lbs is not that any difference for boxers and for even average joe person. I mean we can increase our weight and remain the same or even in the case of Inoue he will have more power as there is no is issues as far as making the weight right now.
1550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 02, 2023, 02:26:53 AM
^ Yes, you can say that it's a must-win, do-or-die fight for Magsayo as another lost will put a damp on his chances to regain that belt and could be the next Filipino to fall out of contention again because it's going to be back to back loses for him, just like what Jerwin Ancajas suffered in the hands of Fernando Martinez.

And this time, there will be no rematch anymore for Magsayo and I do agree that he might go back to his native Philippines to pick up the pieces and see what's going to happen in his career. So let's just be positive and support Magsayo in his fight against a very rugged Brandon Figueroa.
1551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane on: March 02, 2023, 01:16:12 AM
I'm for Jon Jones here. But I'm curious how he will be in this come back fight. It's been years since he last fought. That was still way back UFC 247 against Reyes which he only won via UD. Even before that, Jones only had a split decision against Thiago. Those couple of last fights might suggest something.

And this come back fight of his will be in the heavyweight division. This is interesting. I agree with the odds, though. Jones will probably be the winner despite his inactivity. And Gane is not really a difficult opponent, although the weight will probably prove to be an issue.

Everyone is really going to have to watch this fight, as you have said, he has been out for many years and this is going to be his comeback fight. Many of us here hates Jon Jones, but his body of work during his prime at LHW can't be denied as he clean up that division.

And so to enhance his legacy he has to take this fight and move to HW.  And I think he is more capable to make a statement win in his comeback against Gane here.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next crypto craze? on: March 01, 2023, 11:47:26 AM
I think the next wave will happen in the crypto payments space

Not sure what you mean since almost all crypto can be used as payment system. Bitcoin was created by Satoshi to be like that, as a payment scheme.

But I do agree that it might be the whole AI thingy that has been taking the world by storm. For example, ChatGPT and then Dall-E, so everything will be based on that hype next specially in crypto.

And there are a lot of projects also that involved AI and it could be the biggest thing in the next bull run.
1553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: March 01, 2023, 09:48:04 AM
I am not sure if this is a bull trap although my doubts are great, but I am convinced that we are not out of the bear market yet, it is still very early to confirm the bears was left behind. It is normal for bitcoin to recover from a long string of declines, just as there will be a few sunny days in winter.
In order to see what the next trend of bitcoin is going to be, we need to take more time to observe and confirm whether the winter has indeed ended or if this is just a price trap.
The fact is that currently the bitcoin price is being corrected to the price of $ 23k after a few days ago bitcoin managed to reach the $ 25k area and it seems that right now there is not enough strength to break $ 25k so there is still a possibility that the bitcoin price will fall back to the $ 20k level, seeing the difficulty that bitcoin is experiencing to break $25k then I would not say that the bear market is over because there is still a possibility if this correction will last a long time until the bitcoin halving event occurs and after that happens then only then will we see a real bull market .
25k is a strong resistance that bitcoin has not been able to break for the first time. If this repeats a few more times and bitcoin don't gets above 25k, we will probably see another drop, maybe even to the old bottom. By the way, the situation of stock markets around the world does not give hope that we will see good growth.
I quite agree with you on the barrier now poised by $25k, it's surely a level to be watchful of as its breaching might make the coin reach $30k speedily. But a failure to do that and the coin tarrying below the level for too long might slip it back to below $20k.

Bitcoin now follows the right market psychology, and I believe that the sentiments of the market are not as strong enough to breach above $25K which might be an issue if it continues as the market will interpret it as the unwillingness of buyers to purchase further, and the sellers would take the advantage.

I think $25,000 as other have said, is the resistance, if we can get over that price then yeah, $30.000 is possible. But there seems to be some selling pressure in the market. So maybe we have gotten to the point wherein we are somewhat exhausted and there is a feeling that if the price will go to $25,000 or higher there should be some positive news that we need to see first. So for March, if there is some news, then yes, the price will shoot up. But in absence of it, maybe we will just trade sideways for the whole month, IMHO.
1554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 01, 2023, 09:08:38 AM
In boxing, there are casual trash talks that are common. However, Thurman made an effort for his trashtalks to become personal. In order to distract Pacquiao, he attempted to get under his skin but failed deliberately.

Errol Spence will force Keith Thurman to kiss the canvas. Thurman was down by the body punch of Pacquiao and Spence is more well known for working on the bodies of his opponents. By TKO, Thurman will lose.

They have their own strategy, and I believe what Thurman did to Pacman, which is trash-talking, is not to distract him but to gain the attention of the fans and market their upcoming fight. Pacman will not be affected by any trash talk, as he has been in boxing for more than a decade already, so it's not new to him.

I guess it's both because I also remember that Thurman somehow underestimated Pacquiao and thought that a trashtalk will somehow give some troubles to the latter but it didn't worked as Thurman was the one who kissed the canvass in the early rounds of their fight whereas he was the one who had the ultimate motive to do the same.

Back on the fight, I know that Thurman is thirsty and hungry to get a title and be a champion once again but this journey won't be that easy because Spence got a strong body punch that could probably also crack Thurman in the early rounds. He should watch out for that though as it's expected that Spence won't go easy on him as this is a bit personal for him because of what happened few years back.
Thurman was barking at the wrong person. Additionally, Pacquiao, who does not speak English fluently, was only laughing because of the language barrier. Adrien Broner just laughed maybe because of the language barrier too. Broner thought Pacquiao would laugh at his trash talks instead of benefit from them.

I and MiliMil have the same opinion about this match. Errol Spence has a straightforward victory here. The corner of Thurman will stop it or the referee will. But I do not think it is true that Thurman avoided Spence for a long time. Thurman clearly desired the well-known names. The target was Mayweather and the other champions.

Yes, I do believed that although Manny understand English, he has in no shape or form wanted to get back at all the trash talking that either Broner and Thurman throws. So their trash talking is not that effective.

But for this fight, two Americans will obviously throws everything, make a lot of noise in the media and probably Thurman telling that Spence has avoided him for years and yada yada trash talk. And most likely Spence will make a field day cracking at how Thurman lost to the old Manny.
1555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 01, 2023, 08:48:21 AM
Right, Drake will not learn any lessons here, he has been betting huge with Stake as he is their brand ambassador if I'm not mistaken. And now only Drake but his father as well have been known to wager at least $300k, so it's run on the family because after all Drake has amass quite a fortune because a celebrity/singer.

For us though, we should only play the money that we can have, we need to control our emotions and not to bet money that we can't afford to lose.

If we get ourselves addictive, then that's where the problem arises, specially as far as your financial standing goes.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 01, 2023, 08:28:50 AM
It was well yeah we will now be having a Brandon Figueroa VS Mark Magsayo this coming March 4, and I think it will be an epic battle, I know that Figueroa just got his defeat against the hand of Stephen Fulton and because Fulton doesn't want a rematch from him Brandon Figueroa is now aiming for Mark Magsayo, for me also got a great record but is he conditioned to fight Brandon Figueroa, I surely have a lot of question because Brandon Figueroa could surely win in this fight aswell, but because Magsayo is a Filipino likely I am still going with Magsayo

It's not that Brandon Figueroa is aiming for Magsayo but it's just turned out that Fulton will skip his plan on moving up to 126 to face Naoya Inoue in the 122. And just to be clear, Fulton is not that he doesn't want a rematch against Figueroa but just man enough to take the massive call and demand on taking Inoue before considering moving up. He just shows that he will not duck Inoue even with how dangerous the monster is so better to stay at 122 for now to face Inoue.

Yes and that's what he have been saying for Fulton, he has the balls and guts to fight the prime Inoue at 122 lbs. Although initially this is Inoue's first fight, but we can' discount the fact that he has the advantage even if Fulton is the champion.

I also recognized the strength of Brandon Figueroa who probably has a better chance to win against Magsayo but the latter does have a good experience already against top boxers in the 126 like Gary Russell Jr. (although semi-injured) and Rey Vargas who is far better compare to Figueroa who is new to 126 division.

Still a toast up between Figueroa and Magsayo, still 50/50 for me although Brandon has listed as favorite. Magsayo still possesses that one punch KO and then Brandon should not underestimate him.
1557  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC deep continues for the next SIX Months. on: February 26, 2023, 08:05:36 AM
This saga of BTC price has no hope for the next Six months, the market cap has shown 70% of possibility price deepening continuing without reversing. This is because a good number of BTC has been taken from the system and no further reliable investment coming in to the system.

BTC will continues going down if the major shareholders did not turn up to increase the strength and volume of BTC  , BBC market news shows that the number of people trading bitcoin in 2020-2023 has drastically reduced compared to 2013-2015 figures, that if this continues BTC will suffer insufficient pumps.

If the system continue suffering price creeping, am afraid BTC may end up into another revolution of losses.

Thanks but we all know that we are still in the middle of bear market, so obviously the price might to go down as you have put it. Specially if there is a blank swan event like the Terra Luna and FTX collapse last year.

So I guess everyone knows that, and maybe not going to be surprised at all or panic. And those who are worry about it are newbies that got nervous when the price will go down in the future. On the other hand, those who have experience and seen hot Bitcoin is in a bear market, will take every opportunity to buy when the price goes down in the next 6 months.
1558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 26, 2023, 02:00:05 AM
In this case, Vargas had exposed Magsayo's weaknesses, so there is a possibility that the camp of Figueroa will implement the same strategy.  It would be lucky for Magsayo if Figueroa will fight him toe-to-toe and do not take advantage of the reach advantage.

On the other hand, I believe Magsayo had studied Figueroa's fighting style and strategies, I hope his camp can find the weakness of the opponent and devise a plan to exploit it.

I don't think that Figueroa will just literally use his reach advantage but rather just go with the flow with his usual strategy.

In other words, using his reach advantage while being in toe-to-toe fight mode and not treating Magsayo as having a disadvantage. As others say, he's a volume puncher and that means aggressive. Not also considered lucky for Magsayo if the fight goes toe-to-toe as regardless, Figueroa also wants that.

The effectiveness of their respective strategies will now depend on how they will perfectly time it in the actual fight.

Yeah, maybe Brandon study that fight and how Vargas beat Magsayo. But they have contrasting style and he is not known as a jabber. So I believed Figueroa will still fight his own and what he is comfortable with, go with the flow of the fight like throwing a lot per round.

On the side of Magsayo, he should be preparing for a fighter that is going to put his foot on the gas pedal. He will not not stop chasing Magsayo unless Mark becomes the aggressor and perfectly time Brandon coming in with a perfect straight and score a knock down or a knock out.
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here are list of very useful chart patterns to learn and make money in crypto 🫡 on: February 26, 2023, 12:56:53 AM
Thought it was a site but I ended up opening my telegram, I don’t think this is a good idea to share information but it looks like you have a good followers already.

If you can give a more useful links to discuss these patterns it can be a big help, to beginners this is good if you are still learning trading and still learning how to use these patterns.

Yep, it's obvious a click bait as he has to point it to his telegram account, and I will say that it doesn't sit well with some of us here who have seen this kind of strategy before.

If there is onethread that can help traders, I will recommend this:

Trading Cheat Sheet Collection

It's an old thread but still relevant in my opinion.

Yeah, I think this old thread will do, it has a lot of information to swallow even if you are not a beginner. Because it covers intermediate to even advance trading pattern that can all help us.

As for the OP, hmmm, it's better not to direct anyone to your Telegram group. It has been frown upon by the community, specially coming for newbies. So the better approach is to just post everything here in the beginning. And later just put a disclaimer about your Telegram, IMHO.
1560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 25, 2023, 09:27:45 AM
The promotion I think wanted to see him up there in the ring and defend the title while the best in this division but it's still risky when he is challenged by a younger contender. This match makes sports betting more like guessing.

The fact that Donaire is still on the top ranking even at his current age, that's the reason why he is still getting good opportunities like this.

Regardless if the promoters wanted to see him in the ring or not, he is really bound to have a mandatory fight.

He's not being challenged though by young boxers but just doing the task he was assigned for.

Correct, he was able to still maintain hist status because of the high level of fights he got and the results, all of them are either TKO/KO except Inoue. So then the promoters likes Donaire for being that, representing their organization as a  champion and that's why he is given another chance again for the WBC bantamweight.

And Donaire is not taking this fight lightly maybe just because the boxer that he is going to face is way below in the top 5 of the ranking. He is still going to be a threat to matter what but Donaire will be ready.

No boxer would take a fight lightly, especially if it's a championship fight. Donaire understands that it's a must-win for him to continue pursuing his dreams. A loss here would lessen his opportunities to gain more fights, but a win here would open up more opportunities for him. I just hope that he will not go up and chase Inoue because it's not a favorable matchup for him.

Unfortunately you might not heard of Mike Tyson upset to Buster Douglas. Later on we found out that Tyson didn't do his training very well, he didn't take it seriously and Buster Douglas was like 40:1 underdog during that fight.

So that is big lessons for boxers after that fight, that even the great Mike Tyson will fall for that kind of mentality against a inferior boxer.
