1621  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: January 16, 2016, 03:09:55 AM
for short term i will pick bitcoin, but for long term i will pick gold one.

I think it should be the other way around. Look at the volatility in bitcoin during the last couple of days.
It definitely is not for the weak hearted.
1622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Paid to gamble on: January 16, 2016, 03:08:36 AM
I agree with the people above. Money what you earn are due to your effort and time in some business. Time is an asset. You earn something with your time and effort and risk it in gaining a large outcome or nothing at all, it surely is a gamble. And it's not something new, many sites popularly freebitco.in are offering the similar gambling options.

There is something called 'mental accounting'. Although money is fungible, they tend to slot it into different mental accounts. They are far more likely to gamble money earned from faucets, than money earned from a day job.

1624  Economy / Speculation / Re: DO NOT SELL - 15.01 dip in price explained for beginners on: January 16, 2016, 03:03:40 AM
Price has dropped to $359 today, why not sell? I will sell if I feel if the pressure to too much to bear to hold these worthless coins that I bought for $100 more 2 months ago  Undecided

If you are okay with taking such a big loss, go ahead and do it.
If you can stomach some more volatility, why not wait till the block reward halving takes place?
1625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go sub 400! on: January 16, 2016, 03:01:58 AM
I see this as an opportunity to buy some more cheap bitcoins  Cheesy

There seem to be a lot more opportunities these days.  Undecided
1626  Economy / Speculation / Re: increases by $100 to $530 within February? on: January 15, 2016, 07:05:46 AM
idk, because the demand about bitcoin is relatively surging. Huh

i would guess people (like refugees of stock exchange) in china are gonna buy more bitcoin. or anything else of reason for that matter?
vote avaliable, please vote your opinion. Smiley

I guess you forgot to check the current price before making this post.  Wink
It would have made sense a couple of days back, not now.
1627  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go sub 400! on: January 15, 2016, 07:04:08 AM
Just when we start getting momentum in the upward direction, the whole world turns upside down.  Angry
Let's hope this cryptsy mess is sorted out quickly.

Not a good start, but people will look at your winning percentage over a period of time.
Don't worry.  Smiley

1630  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is your daily bankroll limit? on: January 15, 2016, 06:57:24 AM
-Do you have a separate wallet just for gambling?
Yes i have a special wallet to play gambling.

-Do you have a daily limit on your bankroll?
My limit is around 0.01-0.05BTC and that is my daily bankroll limit.

Thats really good that guys are taking gambling seriously and keeping a different wallet for it, I used to think most of users just gamble for fun and dont care to make a new wallet for it.

Gambling can be additive. That is why it makes sense to keep a separate wallet for it.
You wouldn't want this to happen.

1631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Paid to gamble on: January 12, 2016, 05:10:23 PM
If you're getting free coins from a faucet, and that site has a casino, which DOESN'T allow you to deposit ANY funds, is it considered as gambling if you use/play any of those games?

Been trying to figure out this thing for a week, but there's so much contradiction for both answers, so I am not sure how to pick "the right" answer, if there is one.

Wow... I wish there were a lot more 'gambling' sites like this one.
It would make me a convert.  Smiley

1633  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: January 10, 2016, 06:28:22 AM
the projection is that bitcoin are girls, of course, have but to have a bit of inspiration to push on that in minds we can understand that ultimately, implementation of the bitcoin Protocol needs to bring the level of the girls use bitcoin to at least 50%, as in essence we have to be about money in General, although the girl and there is a place under the sun bitcoin, but, for example, that the use of more plaque and the platforms, you need to have some although, but at least the level of projection when drafting smart contracts that will allow the girl to feel its presence and humility with the need to expand computer literacy

I think that is quite a hard of a challenge for me but I know that 50% of using bitcoin are girls, and they can do anything they want with the bitcoin, and I think that men attraction with woman is very hard to explain and it will cause with sometimes misunderstanding

50%? Are you insane?
Look at the number of women in engineering and computer science.
That should give you an idea of how many women are there in this space.
1634  Economy / Economics / Re: $700 million lottery jackpot straight to BTC on: January 10, 2016, 06:27:03 AM
With the US Powerball jackpot now at $700 million, I'm curious about a scenario where a single winner dumps the entire lump sum into the BTC exchange and locks it up for years.
What would the effect on the market be immediately after and for the next few years? What would happen to the market in the future if they decide to cash out as the richest person who ever lived?

Even if you want to convert your dollars into bitcoins, there are various buying strategies. Overwhelming exchanges is not going to help.
The US government auctions large amounts once in a while, you can bid on that.  Grin
1635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: January 10, 2016, 06:24:58 AM
Gambling can be addictive when you get the rush of winning something, or even risking something to potentially win more.

It all comes down to if you can tell yourself when to stop or not. I typically stop when I lose any marginal amount and then try to think of a strategy to get my money back. This doesn't always work out though...

Getting back your money never works.
It is money down the drain. Think of gambling as an expense.  Smiley
1636  Economy / Speculation / Re: why I bought on: January 10, 2016, 06:22:50 AM
In short, OP bought 0.1 btc because he thought one day he'd be a millionaire.

OP is talking about 3K-5K per coin.
How does buying 0.1 BTC make him a millionaire?

1638  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: January 09, 2016, 04:58:08 AM
Its 65-35, Bitcoin to Gold. I am not going to spend gold, but I will spend some of the bitcoins. That is how I contribute to the Bitcoin Ecosystem.

That is a good mix. Tranfer 35-35 gold & bitcoin to the next generation.
Spend around 30% of your bitcoins.
1639  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: January 09, 2016, 04:56:41 AM
today I got a chat from an old friend, she was a woman, and she asked about bitcoin, after which he asked me to teach him to get bitcoin for free, I was confused to tell him, because I think it is now very difficult to get a bitcoin free with a large number. so i just tell him to play faucet and collect bitcoin from there, yes its a silly situation Grin

Your friend (or you) really seems to be mixed up.  Tongue
1640  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is your gambling stategy? Are you risky, or do you prefer slow? on: January 09, 2016, 04:54:36 AM
Don't take risks and go in.
Go slow, enjoy it while it lasts.  Smiley
