1661  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Participating in Mixer Signature Campaign on: March 30, 2023, 06:44:44 AM
I also support the motion of theymos from the OmegaStarScream quote. Because from what happened it lookef at if they know the secrecy of Chipmixer while they didn't. So to avoid such disgrace again it is better to steer clear from Mixer's campaigns. Instead it is better for the to join trustworthy casinos' campaigns. But also one mixer downfall should not be used to generalize others.

Don't you see a contradiction here? You just joined a mixer signature campaign.

even though he's in a mixer signature campaign but it doesn't matter what opinion he thinks.

I don't fully support the campaign from the mixer in this forum being stopped because the mixer has many uses rather than the damage it causes, especially to protect privacy, so this discourse will only cause eternal debate.
1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on NFT holders on: March 30, 2023, 05:48:36 AM
imagine it

paying tax on ingame purchases.. turns Steam into tax reporting agents of its customers rather than games retailers

so soon you wont be able to play online games without KYC

How things are going, it should not be a surprise Steam and Epic Games would ask for full KYC in a decade or earlier.
But it would make more sense it was related to MMORPG's where people can partake in a secondary market of in-game currency, which gains are (of course) taxable.

with the possibility of imposing taxes on NFT games that generate money it will have a big impact on players, the development of NFT games that generate money has not been fully accepted by many people, if news like this already appears then I doubt people will be interested in playing NFT games in the future ahead.

Well, in all fairness, this is probably the right thing to do, especially at this point in time when NFTs are apparently used for money laundering. Somebody can make millions of dollars in legitimate transactions selling pixelated images and monkey jpegs. So I guess it's just the IRS doing its job well. This may be perceived as a villain agency but it's just performing its mandate.

But what I'm particularly amazed at is how updated the IRS is on what's happening around. In my country, the Bureau of Internal Revenue is clueless and is still operating on archaic policies.

as a bureau with authority, they are reasonable to make tax regulations on NFTs, especially now that NFTs are already categorized as digital assets, but the rates are quite high, just imagine up to 20% ++ of the value of the NFT assets.
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Taxes on NFT holders on: March 29, 2023, 08:48:37 PM
Quote
The U.S. Internal Revenue Service has taken its first formal steps in laying out rules for the taxation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), potentially exposing them to a maximum long-term capital gains tax rate of 28% if they are considered collectibles rather than the 20% that applies to other digital assets and to securities. The March 21 Notice 2023-27 says that the agency is intending to issue specific rules for NFTs, which can represent collectible assets (Artwork like the BoredApe Yacht club or Crypto Punks series) and non-collectibles (event tickets) and sometimes both.

This notice marks the first formal attempt by the IRS on laying out guidelines for NFT taxation. Previously taxpayers have been applying general rules applicable to property for NFT transactions, relying on IRS Notice 2014-21 issued in 2014. This notice also comes as part of a visible if undeclared campaign by the executive branch, federal agencies, and some members of Congress against the digital-assets industry.

NFT Tax Treatment
Section §408(m)(2) of the U.S. Tax Code defines a collectible as:

any work of art
any rug or antique
any metal or gem
any stamp or coin
any alcoholic beverage
any other tangible personal property specified by the secretary of the Treasury
Taxation of an NFT under current IRS practice depends on the asset it represents. The agency calls this “look-through analysis” and encourages filers to use it when determining tax consequences until the new guidance is issued. For example, a gemstone represented by an NFT would be a collectible, but the right to develop a plot of land in the metaverse would not.

Collectible Vs. Non-Collectible
The status matters for tax rates and reporting requirements. Long-term capital gains generated from NFTs classified as collectibles could be subject to a 28% tax rate, above the 20% of other capital assets. Moreover, collectible-NFT sales should be reported on Form 8949, Column (f) with code “C” to indicate to the IRS that it’s a collectible as opposed to a regular capital asset.
you can read the full article here--

after the US government imposed a 30% tax on the mining industry, it seems that the US government will not stop there, they planning to make new tax rules on NFT holders. it seems that this decision will have a big impact on the future of the NFT token category.

For those who have NFT category tokens, are you going to sell immediately or are you going to continue to follow the development of new rules on NFTs?
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Banks Welcome Cryptocurrency, as the USA cracks down on: March 29, 2023, 05:04:10 PM
Chinese Banks & the Hong Kong Financial Authority welcome cryptocurrency with open arms, as the USA brutally cracks down.  With Signature Bank having to shed it's crypto deposits, to Binance and Kucoin under heat.  Meanwhile Mainland Chinese banks are courting crypto companies.

China has negotiated a peace deal between Saudi Arabia and Iran, further making the US dollar less relevant.  Oil contracts can be settled in other currencies.

All of this is on the back of Biden's "Reject Bill" which supposedly targets Tiktok, and...  EVERY OTHER TECH FIRM ON EARTH with unchecked government power.

Learn about the paradigm shift that’s changing our world:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVMoRAL7_jw

I read the news in more detail in this article and it seems that the focus of their discussion is more about banks in Hong Kong.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-27/chinese-banks-court-crypto-firms-in-hong-kong-after-mainland-ban?leadSource=uverify%20wall

hongkong can have opposing views of the chinese government regarding cryptocurrencies, especially now that the cbdc issued by the chinese government is not successful at all.

Hong Kong is governed under the "one country, two systems" principle, under which China has agreed to grant the territory a high degree of economic-political autonomy.

1665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a casino ever run without the government's awareness? on: March 29, 2023, 04:24:01 PM
Is it possible to run a decentralized gambling platform? I know that all popular gambling platforms have no choice but to be transparent to the law to have a steady business running, but with the introduction of CBDC and yes a registered gambling platform has no choice but to accept CBDC too, and I don't trust this centralized currency, I believe CBDC will have the capability to monitor incoming and outgoing funds, so that is what makes me think if it's possible to run a decentralized gambling platform at all.

Running a gambling business without (law) interference from the government seems difficult because every country that legalizes gambling has laws that must be obeyed by the owner of the gambling business.

However, every gambling user has full rights to use the deposit via what (crypto or fiat currency) so even though in the future the majority of gambling sites have the option of depositing or withdrawing via CBDC, of course, it will not be forced by the government and gambling owners to use, because consumers also have the right to vote and that cannot be ignored.

I'm a pure football bettor, I almost never bet on other sports, I've tried betting on UFC - basket ball (NBA) - boxing but I'm quite difficult to understand it, so I decided to only bet on football.

right now I'm trying to bet on e-sport, but the results are not good, I even have trouble finding references Cheesy
1667  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 29, 2023, 01:36:37 PM
i haven't been m on that kind of situation personally so I couldn't say anything about breaking the bond of some relatives, but my parents were. there was a time they were asked by our distant relative to lend them money I forgot for purpose but I remembered my parents refused to lend them since my sister at that time is sick and needs money for medication and since at that time my younger sister in only 2 years old it sure costs a lot of money. after that event our distant relative spread rumors and badmouthed my father for not lending them money and for preventing my mother not to entertain her relatives again even though that's not the case. my father just ignored those stories since his priority is us and he told us with my mom just let it be coz there are people like that when they don't get what they want they will tarnish your name.

i have learned from my father that there're people who only see you as a goose laying golden eggs, that is why you need to choose carefully who will you let inside your life, and you cannot help everyone even if you wanted to since you cannot fulfill all of their wants even if you sacrifice yourself, so learn to be patient when dealing with this people and not to escalate things.

what your father did was really wise, he prioritized his family rather than fulfilling the request of his cousin even though in the end your father's cousin used dirty tricks to defame your family.

cover your ears when you hear an unpleasant sentence behind you, not everyone has to be our friend, some are just trying to take advantage, in the previous post I told my experience when lending money to my cousin and the end result was really bad for my mentality.
1668  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking a partner on: March 29, 2023, 11:29:46 AM
Dear Oshosondy,
Thanks for your reply much appreciated,

To be honest, the amount I had was more than this, and I could not learn properly, I lost a lot of money.
I tried to learn, but I am not smart enough to analyze and trade, I also entered groups on Telegram, I lost a lot of trades to. In the end, I gave up, used the traderwagon & bybit bot to copy the trade, and chose the most profitable people, and I also lost. I don’t know, frankly, am I a person who has no luck.
This last option for me is to find an employee who wants to earn money and has a percentage of the profits.

Thanks for ur time & have great day,

I'm curious where did you find out about this forum, seeing from your first post it looks like you're an Arab, Have you received a lot of PMs because what you have to offer will certainly attract a lot of scammers' interest? my advice is that you yourself have to manage your money, it's not easy, you can do copy trading and the majority of the big crypto exchanges offer this feature.

bybit and traderwagon, have few traders there, maybe you can try copy trading on binance or kucoin.
1669  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Non KYC virtual cards (support Apple Pay and Google Pay) on: March 29, 2023, 07:33:56 AM
hi OP what are you acting as here, owner or just a marketing team?

This is the first time I've heard about your product and based on who is, this site is Hong Kong-based.

I also see that downloading your platform on Google Pay reaches 10k++

I think the reputation of your product is not very good but the concept that you offer is quite interesting in my opinion, it's just that the fee for top-up is high (around 4.1%).

1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have anyone got more than 30,000 Dogecoin from Freedogeco.in on: March 29, 2023, 06:42:00 AM
Hi guys I created this task because I was wondering that wether someone got some more than 10k or even 50k dogecoin in 2018 or even 2017 where dogecoin price was very low and at that time I was getting free money from https://freedogeco.in (Note: This website has been shut down)
And I have gotten almost more than 30k Dogecoin and I hag regret that I sold than on a mere 35 or 40 dollars and after 1 or 2 year I was stunned to see Dogecoin price and I still regret this. I have no idea what have I done. Maybe I should have kept it and maybe that was fate to regret only past. Now I have moved On. So I am hoping for a good future.

besides often using freebitco to just get a little satoshi from the faucet, I also often use freedoge and at that time around 2017 I managed to get 15 thousand dogecoin from there, I immediately sold it because I didn't think that the price of dogecoin would soar in future (a few years later, elon musk did shilling on that and the price of dogecoin soared)

right now there are no good faucet sites to just get a few coins, some gambling sites may still provide faucets but the value is not much anymore.
1671  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Wondering how much my account is worth ? on: March 28, 2023, 08:34:48 PM
...
I think you have missed one more thing and that is the account farmer in the forum. There has also been a rise in the trend of account farming on Bitcointalk forums to earn money through signature campaigns and various other trading activities. And for this, if the accounts are bought and sold, the DT members tag negative trust.

Quote
...
It's is true that  the process you mention by doing that we can find that the changing of email we can easily find it on BPIP But I think it is also a misconception to think that just because the email has changed, the owner of the account has changed or the account has been hacked. The account's previous posts and current posts are compared to understand if the account has been hacked or the owner of the account has changed.

Account farmers were first banned in this forum around 2017 if I'm not mistaken cmiiw, many people created accounts and sold their accounts to people who had the intention of using multiple accounts in campaigns and fortunately theymos implemented a merit system so the habit slowly disappeared.

indeed someone who changes email cannot be said to be selling/trading on that account, but the DT team will definitely interrogate the owner of the account and if it finds a failure in verification (as the old owner of the account) then the account will get a tag.

1672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about this? on: March 28, 2023, 06:02:45 PM
In life we all have choices regardless of your culture or religion. I dont see gambling as a sin. It only becomes a sin when you don't gamble responsibly.
Yes, religious leaders gamble most often. Gambling does not stop them from preaching the gospel. Some gamble secretly while some gamble openly.

I dont think is a good idea for religious leaders to gamble because it does not show a good example to the young once.

It is immoral for religious leaders to gamble as it show bad examples to the followers.

although I am not a member of a devout congregation, I really hate religious leaders who are hypocrites, they forbid their people not to gamble - whore - steal - commit fraud but behind the scenes, many of them still do that. religious leaders are the people most often inspired by the followers of that religion, if they do bad things then the mentality and morals of their followers will be damaged and they could turn into atheists.
1673  Economy / Reputation / Re: My 10 000th post on: March 28, 2023, 05:10:08 PM
been on the forum since August 2015 and managed to make more than 10 000 posts until now, it will never be easy, when compared to me who just passed 5000 posts then that's still half the journey you've been through LOL.

your account statistics based on BPIP is very good.

congrats-

1676  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience of failure and success can help us control the emotions. on: March 27, 2023, 06:24:18 PM
In trading the number one enemy is our self emotions, many trader loss because they can't control thier emotions and it really affects thier decision making and sometimes it will become a reason for the big loss, in crypto we cannot be free from different emotions because everytime market condition is changing and it is really a high volatility market, i think experienced had a very big role on decision making, is this a reason why most of the newbie loss is it because they don't have enough of experience?
True, as newbies only have limited knowledge and no enough experiences before they start trading, so that put them into high risk of losing their capital. Controlling the emotions is the key, but you will never master it unless you are never exposed to the real trading scenario and that you only invest to gain profits and not to learn and master trading.

without direct experience, it will be very difficult for a newbie trader to get good skills in trading. I see a lot of people who admit they really want to start trading but the intention they have is so little that their plans always fail to become a trader.

after all, winning and losing is a natural thing experienced by every trader around the world, no trader wins 100%, that is nonsense. be consistent and make every moment when trading an experience so that in the next few years you can have good emotional control when trading.

Managing finances properly is key to our financial life, which is well known to each of us, I guess. I feel like this is in my bones so sometimes I make some decisions subconsciously. I recently ran into a situation where I found myself really awkward. Last July or August(I can't remember that clearly), one of my extended family cousin asked me for three thousand dollars as he lost his job and could not pay off his loans. I refuse to lend him the money cause I knew him well that he was not a solid trustworthy guy. A few days ago we met on a family reunion occasion and he did not really talk to me and I suddenly realized that it was because I didn't lend him money last year. I think about it twice and if he had not been that untrustworthy, I would have definitely lent him the money. Anyway, I hope he is doing fine now and best wishes to him.

the decision you took was absolutely right (by not giving your cousin a loan) however you have to get rid of your discomfort because you haven't done anything wrong, there are still many things thing you should think about so don't ever overthink things that don't deserve to burden your mind.

I once had the same case, I was so kind to my cousin, I lent her a little money but when I asked for that money she always said that it was only small money and why should it be returned, since then I realized that she is a person who does not appreciate my good deeds then if it is related to the money I will no longer help her even though I still maintain a good relationship with her.
