Have off grid solar running most of the domicile.
The 100A @ 12V nominal battery chargers (RV industry calls'em converters) use 3 40A ATC fuses, I assume their wired in parallel.

Shout out to toptek. Thought I was the only hexa-genarian in the crowd.  Grin

LOL I'm looking into getting Solar for my home i want it so i can sell it back to the power company getting tired of there BS prices and how they get way with doing low down stuff even if i have to rent it at first Smiley .
1682  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: March 07, 2016, 11:50:16 PM
I am still running an S1 because... I want to.
That's my man! I run a rig of 6 mixed s3/s5 because I want to and because the smell of fans and asics is so comforting. I run my miners overclocked because elctricity is no problem for me. 40% of my house is solar so the cost of those miners brings my electricity costs back to before solar. I ran a s3 at 520ghs for a while before a chip went x, then it stabilized at 470. Once you become fearless and don't care about your equipment dying, you can have some pretty fun moments where you can overclock to some ridiculous hashrate and smell the burning asics. It's fun as I said and when the new bitfury chips come out, I assure you all I will run that until it burns. and so I can breathe the amazing smell of burning electronics. S1 chips burning smells different from s5 chips burning. It's subtle but delicious.
Anyways, once a new miner with bitfury chips comes out, I will run that thing until it burns and i'll laugh at how good or bad it overclocks and i'll sell a dead pane on bitcointalk for some other chap to experiment on it. Burning chips smell so good and are so interesting...

let me see i run a s1 not always  but from time to time S3 same  S5 maybe five days a week with a  AvalonMiner 4.1 just cooked a break out board overclocking it it to much those things are breasts and on a 2 K PSU A c1 antminer on it own PSU. and a cyclone by zeusminer On its own PSU, yes i do Script coins not afraid to admit it and just bought a 256 MH Alcheminer I hope i didn't get fucked on, o well if i did. and two of side's sticks all because i want to and it gives me some thing to do .I make a little on the side doing it, I'm not rich . i refused to buy a S7 and still do because of the high price they charged when they came out but that's me , I  could have sold off all my S5 when they came out, I felt they cost to much so i kept my S5 till Dec of last year, all but one that was broke i fixed it.. A6's are great but they came out to late imo or i would have  sold all i had and got one .now I 'm waiting and saving for the new side hack boards with bitfury chips, i hope we see . and hope i saved enough to start for three sets.

1683  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: March 07, 2016, 09:18:48 PM
No, actually that's mostly explained by a combination of small-town upbringing (focus on Christian ethics, frugality and self-reliance) and 98th-percentile intelligence, which results in a low tolerance for idiots or lazy people and a general inability to relate to most folks even within my own generation. The facts that coffee tastes like burnt dirt and caffeine has no real effect on me anyway are mostly irrelevant to my attitude in general.

I can't find one thing to dispute in that, aside from my personal love of coffee. People are interesting. They're also 99% of all problems. And if you're talking "generation X" (my age showing here), most of them are willful morons.

Honestly, man i like the smell of coffee but hate the taste I'm 60 or very close to it or will be in July Smiley_ . I get my Caffeine from sodas and trig to my best to stop drinking those to . SO, i don't agree age has nothing to do with it Smiley .my point is i guess no mater what you believe in or believe, if you care about the people around you more and truly want to help it won't mater your age , if your a demo or repub, what you like , dislike, how much money you have etc. your ok to me and usually are with 99 % of the people Smiley. I'm not from a small town and have been to a lot places over seas and been to every state in the US but 5 or 6 .

1685  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yesminer M20 / M10 on: March 05, 2016, 07:55:43 PM
And if you had paid with a credit card instead of gift cards you'd have another layer of protection.

Card issuers usually won't offer protection on Paypal payments citing Paypal as a payment processor, so their transaction is just with Paypal and the customer's dispute is between PayPal and the seller.

The Us is a lot different if you can prove it and went thu all the steps they will do charge backs PayPal or not, in some cases refund the money back right a way with a good  warning the normal stuff .

my bank did it once on my debt card i had to go to PayPal first and follow a lot of steps but it was given back and they did a charge back .
1686  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling mining hardware tips? on: March 04, 2016, 08:23:04 PM
Yeah.. Don't sell on ebay or amazon. People WILL scam you.

I just had an ahole last month buy my last S7-B6, recieve is, show it working, then next day start a claim to return for full refund.
THe dckhead fried one of the boards as he tried ot run the miner at 700MH vs 600-620max and improperly hooking it up.
Paypal effed me by giving him his money AND shipping costs back. Now I'm stuck with a 66% hashing S7.  Angry

BTW the bastard guy's name is/was : BRIAN SURGUY in Annapolis, MD..

On here, I've had mostly good dealings (other than people trying to lowball you or disappear after making a deal)ALWAYS USE A FORUM ESCROW.

That sound like a ahole i bought a S3 board form on Ebay only thing is he sent me a bad board etc i let it go it wasn't much cash it was the point he was just a dick head and my whole point is no mater how you do it or buy it you might get screwed over or get a lot of BS .

so to OP take his advice to heart and be care full even here .
1687  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Alcheminer 256 MH/s miner and boards on: March 04, 2016, 06:36:37 PM
I pmed you if the price is right I may take whole unit depends on price let me know . ill make a offer as well once i see it. I'm not worry about the red by your name most of the time that's bs, i looked at your trust it looks good other then your account got hacked, i assume by your commit back. and you do live in the US ,i hate using Escrow and try not to if you live in the US. our laws are good on fraud.

Wow. Did Your account get hacked, because that is some of the .. ahem... not-the-smartest things a senior level member could say on this forum.  Cheesy

Since you're dealing with Bitcoin, you have ZERO recourse in the US even. It's digital currency, it's untraceable (Thus even the PO will not investigate a fraud claim) and unless you visit the person who scams you in person (which is considered stalking and YOU can be arrested for that), you really have zero recourse.

Small claim courts will cost you time and $$ and most of the time never collect out of state. Just FYI.

no i mean it !!!  .. If I pay in cash it's different for goods Smiley . and actually there is no place on earth i know of that will do anything if i buy in bitcoins to any extent unless it involves millions and i won't say i won't get hacked because then I will but im not stupid i don't do dumb shit on the web that might cause me to get hacked . this might seem stupid to you but it's not. I am well a ware of how small claims court counts work, im still trying to decide if I want the four boards i can buy four a2 boards some place else etc i want these more and me and him are talking in PM i won't post here unless he kdfs;lkjn me if i do buy them .he wants bitcoins but i may still pay in cash as computer goods then im better off etc etc

I know the laws well being held up at a atm once and some others i know got robed once but they had charges bought against them for shooting the robber they were told they would have been better off  killing him : i know that is considered stalking and YOU can be arrested , and the court system in my state is a big joke but i may still pay cash with protection that does work i have got it all back in the past etc that way it was a pain in the ass but i got it all back and no matter what i say or do there is  always that 5 % fail rate nothing but one thing, is a 100 %, we won't get in that here.

I was not hacked .yet i hope i never am but it can happen no matter what i do,

and i hate Escrow that much if i can pay in cash and protect it i will in most cases. Escrow would be a last resort thing for me unless i buy out of the US.
why im even telling you this no idea  but thanks for the tips but im well a ware of all you said

i do appreciate that you care).

but the one thing stopping me from buying now is no Pictures , i may ask again for Pictures and if he did flash them to a pi i need proof  as well because i will re flash them to bfg ,

I think i tried to buy a few boards off you once but you decided not to sell them to anyone you told me I believe:).
1688  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: pH Miners Launches Powerful Cryptocurrency Miners for Bitcoin on: March 04, 2016, 08:20:15 AM
when a scam is so obvious.. why dont people leave neg trust to the newbie perpetrator?
or is it not even worth the time?

not worth the time it's actlly more fun to make fun of the jerk and help others stay a way from it iimo. by pointing out all the mistake the scammer is making.
1689  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.1: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, Block v4 solo on: March 03, 2016, 08:10:54 PM
Hi.

is there a working src/gz attitude_adjustment http://downloads.openwrt.org/attitude_adjustment/12.09/ar71xx

and is bfgminer working on antminer s1 and s3 ?

Collected errors:
 * opkg_download: Failed to download http://downloads.openwrt.org/attitude_adjustment/12.09/ar71xx/packages/Packages.gz, wget returned 1.

i did have it on S1 S3 and S5 the only one i could get it to hash on was a S5 . for S1 and S3 it worked but wouldn't hash even posted a few pages back asking what might be wrong no one seemed to care, so i gave up.

even had the right openwrt links set up right in the opkg.conf file . you have to go to the open WRT site and find the old links to attitude_adjustment/12.09/ar71xx/packages/Packages.gz, they have sense been archived sense they kind of are no longer supported .

i wanted to at least get it working on a s1 and s3 but didn't happen for me,and the problem with S5 it works great seems to work better then the cgminer version bitmain hacked in but after a reboot it's gone Sad:. bitmain  set it up that way, sigh.

GL,

to install bfgminer on openwrt you need to install lukes packages path.
http://luke.dashjr.org/programs/bitcoin/files/bfgminer/5.4.1/openwrt/12.09/README

bfgminer on the s3 might be working, but it wont show up in the ui.. since it uses a differnt style api then cgminer.

and the s5 does have a read only file system Sad

I used the command interface not the antminer ui for the s1 s3 it just wouldn't hash it loaded the pool etc but then gave some strange error, i tried for weeks so now about all i use BFG for is Scrpt miners,

I'm a big fan of BFG.

the only way i could see anything working number wise on the S5 was the black screen command line ui.

or find a BFG .IPk file some place and load it off a external drive or in the tmp folder  using opkg install ipk name or find a tr.gz file and use the tz command but you need a tested working molded one with everything in it for that to work ,  the problem with S1 and S3 is no room on the controller if you try to install it the S5 way it Polly would work that way but no room and it might install off a external drive  on the s1/3, i just gave up.I'm not even gonna try on my C1 it has the same read only file system.

BTW i have a Avalon 4.1 working on a Rasp pi 2 not the B version they never really gave the Avalon4.1 the right rpi 2 support like they have for the A6 that i could find, once I'm able to figure out how to load the right openwrt on any PI , i can use the Avalon TZ gz file for Avalon 4.1 or A6 file, for any PI type PC with out having to rewrite a thing Smiley,

I might be interested in four boards will you sell the heat sinks with them ?.

I m not to sure what you mean by the CPU you have is dead. is that the controller ?. or is that the power board like S5 etc have that the controller mounts on, can you post Pictures so i have some idea just what I get ?. i know nothing about this brand miner, hard ware wise . is this two miners or one you will either sell as parts or the full miner?. The way the title reads to me  it's two miners for sell one works and the other one has a bad CPU /controller ?. if its one miner that needs a Cpu which I'm not to sure what you mean how much for the full miner with shipping my zip is 21012 and it does work once the controller / cpu is replaced ?.

or do you mean the control panel i did some research kind of ?.

Yes the heatsinks are included, and by cpu I do mean the control board. It's one miner wih 8 boards that mine about 32 MH/s each. I can sell the whole miner as one unit. It will work once the controller is replaced. If you can't get an alcheminer controller, I linked a tutorial to use a raspberry bi as the controller in my post.

I will post pictures when I get home in a few hours

Just fyi...

But i spent a good number of hours building bfgminer for a readynas duo nas. It runs on a sparc cpu with debian sarge (old old distro)

Havent tried any miners yet but cpu mining yields a whopping 20khash wooooo

hi wutti, even after hours of trying to get bfgminer to cpu mine on my raspberry pi 2, I did not succed. could you please tell me how to activate cpu mining with bfgminer on a rpi 2?

I don't think bfg lets you cpu mine anymore might want to use this https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=software#cpu and cpu mining why ?.

I would have when i worked if i knew i had upgrades on demand as needed i would have the cash etc it is the best job in the world there is no late times , late for work , no normal every day rules to worry about ever when you work, the cash is all ways there without fail .it may drop at times but you plan for that and don't over spend, no dead lines to meet other then bills etc . what job can be better other then being so rich you can travel all the time . being rich is a job of sorts. even a rock stars imo wouldn't have it as good they still have dead lines and contact rules to follow and meet if you want to com pair jobs to me that's about the only other job that comes close to working for bitcoins.
1698  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 in a hot Texas garage? on: February 24, 2016, 09:24:25 PM
So I'm noticing the prices of the S3s and S5s dropping significantly.  I have 2 S3s and was thinking about adding an S5, but I have a few questions.

1. The S5 is as loud as a small vacuum, correct?

2. I live in Texas where it's easily 100-105F every day from June-Sept/Oct and never drops below 80F at night during the summer.  I would want to put the S5 in the garage, which gets even hotter.  Would this be ok or would the S5 not be able to operate at such temps??

but it's dryer there i have family out there , i lived there for three years before moving back to Maryland were 90 to 100 degrees feels worse here. even 80 degree days we need the AC on there on 80 degree days you kind of don't

I run last summer all summer long 3 to 5 S5 every day in my basement and my power cost, highest bill was maybe 450  that was believe or not in SEP and OCT . when we really needed the AC on for some reason latly the hottest time of year is in SEP or OCT .

none of my S5 ever went over 58 C

. but i used two fans the rpms from the UI were 2500 to 2700 per fan day or nite.I never overclock when it's hot, so your temps shouldn't be that much different if you use some of the advice fans these guys give they do work . and use two fans .

Don't forget in Texas you heat is dry heat and that helps run these better then were i live. and it can be hotter or feel hotter here due to Humidity. and use a Air Cooler over ac out there Smiley.

but if a little guy is willing to bargain with the big guy and in most caes all most all ways gets a deal , and wants  to produce for the lower end that's not good ?. as others have said everyone makes out in this case and some were down the road the little guy might be a investor to the big guy because he saw it.++ other good things.

I know of industry turntables i meant i guess you can go out and buy one still , when i had  Vinyl records, i paid 500 bucks one time for a turn table so i could hear johnny winter or his bro but i had no idea they cost 100 k.i even used to buy a 60 dollar bottle of record protector that worked . i remember the days of adjusting the needle just right so it did not mess up the vinyl those were the good ole days a lot here have never lived.

Some of those bad boys can cost over 100k$. Love the ones with 4 tonearms. Prolly each for playing the owners specific type of record or music I guess. Toss in 4 of those 20k$ pickups ya linked to, woof...

Must be nice to find and supply a market like that....

I had no idea turntables were still there and cost so much  are they used mostly for live rape?  sense all the media in stores is either in CD Or DVD form these days unless you go to a used record store and yea there are still some of those around .
I know in a recording studio they kind of use custom turn tables.

Thanks sidehack

for being there that can't be said enough.
