It would be very useful if those who want the "estimated pay per block" number back could explain what they get out of it.
The second way I used it was to estimate how long to hit a certain goal. yes, I could use a mining calculator for that. This made it easier since I knew how many blocks would need to be solved in order to earn a certain amount specifically at Bitminer.

I was doing the same thing. I would knew how many blocks (plus minus 1) I needed to reach my cash out.

Is the transaction history ok for this? Maybe a link or button on the first page after login would be faster than having to go through the menu at the top?

I never go into the history to be honest, I went there a few time to satisfy my curiosity on how much the fees was taken from my coins Tongue

cenicsoft, thanks a lot for that post. That gives me some food for thought.

The two parts of the website I am most unhappy with are the front page and the account details page which you get right after login.

What should be on the page after login?

Seeing how your own mining is gong makes a lot of sense. Perhaps instead of the pay per block some info on your hashrate could do the job? Maybe a small graph of your hashrate over recent shifts, as well as your current live hashrate? A lot of people like to watch the pool hashrate as well. It's already displayed at the top of every page, but it could be shown in the same graph as well.

I have always two page open at Btiminter, the main page for account balance and the live stats to monitor the pool and myself.

Keeping the account balance is probably good too.

How many blocks do we need to find before you get X coins which you want to spend on something? Ok, I can see that this is something many would want. It's difficult to do that without getting all the confusion I was trying to put an end to. Perhaps the optional display you mentioned is a solution. I also have to explain to people several times per day that they get paid when blocks are found, not when shifts are finished. Obviously the website is confusing in this regard. I would like the website to make this fact obvious: "when blocks come in, coins come in". I'm not sure how best to do that, and I want to avoid the focus on how much you get per block and all the confusion that ensues.

A big yes from me

To anyone using Bitminter: after you log in what do you most often need? Not necessarily exact numbers or buttons, but what you'd use them for.

As I said previously, I check my balance, the live stats and if I finally found a ***** block Tongue  I would say that the live stats page is the one i'm looking like at 90% of the time.

I also look the block page to see how many confirmation are left before getting pay or if a block would be Stale or Orphan.

I consult the shift page once in while pretty much in way of looking into the history of what happen recently or in the past.

Then come the the Luck and Reward page. (rarely)

I hope it gives you an idea of what you could add in the main page Wink

Thanks Doc

The L1 does NOT and will never mine x11. Lets put that to rest now.

Hahahha thanks dogie ;-)

Are you blind? can you not see others also saying the same shit I am saying, why don't you show me where it says that it won't have that feature? you fucking idiot

Now let's see here are other users saying the same shit I am saying so clearly I am not the only one, dumb ass

Why do you want to sell now if L1 is coming first with X11 and scrypt-N.

Bitmain has always been fair on sales the first batch of S3's not all hit advertised spec so they gave a discount to all.  I predict they would do something for customers if it does not do x11, etc.   They have a lot of capital so I'm hopeful of them making it as advertised.

False advertising or deceptive advertising is the use of false or misleading statements in advertising, and misrepresentation of the product at hand, which may negatively affect many stakeholders, especially consumers.

So until they CLEARLY say they do, you're misleading people.

So until it CLEARLY says they don't, I will keep believing X11 will be included

Understood?

I understand that you are acting like a retard in trying to convince me that what you're doing is right and it is not. It's like trying to sell a car in which, IF THE RUMOR IS TRUE, will support an all wheels drive control. If not, just too bad for you, it will only support a traction control.

It would be very useful if those who want the "estimated pay per block" number back could explain what they get out of it.

Here is how I see it:

The shifts page shows how much work you did at which time and how well it was paid. The payment for a block is many of these lumped into one bigger number, which is much less informative.

Imagine you do a little mining for a couple hours in the morning. Later you mine a couple hours in the evening. We find a block and both the morning and evening work is paid. Later we find another block and only the evening work is paid, as the morning work is no longer among the 10 latest shifts.

Looking at the two payments you got one big first and then one small payment later. You could look at the time the blocks were found and correlate that with your work in the 10 latest shifts at the time, and you'll understand what's going on. But most people won't. They will believe they are being punished for not mining 24/7. Or that "I need to wind up that PPLNS-thing, so I get paid fairly again."

Looking at the new shifts page you can instead look at how much work you did in the morning hours, and in the evening hours. And you can see that the morning work was paid an average rate, while the evening work was luckier and received double that.

I really believe this shows much better the relation between work you did and the pay you received.

What is perhaps missing is showing the 10 paid shifts on the block page (when you click a block in the block list). Would that be of help?

I clearly understand that many people tend to misinterpret that statistic. Since i mine 24/7 here, it just give me an approximation of what i should get for a block (short or long block). But with the high hashrate movement lately and the shorter shift, it would be more off then when we had a more stable hashrate and longer shift.

It is not necessary at all, i'm just kind of use to it.  I will please myself (lol) with the information for each shift. (What exactly I won for my work)

As the usual, Thanks Doc Smiley
1728  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: October 17, 2014, 05:19:51 PM

For unconfirmed payments there is only the unconfirmed balance on the account details page. Hmm. Maybe I could add your share from the block in the block list. There's not much room though.

Yes, that would be good. It's no longer easy to figure out how much you can expect per block when you have TH/s coming in and out of BitMinter. To me, pay per shift is useless.  You only get paid when a block is found. Everything else is noise unless you are on a pool that pays for work done regardless of blocks being found.

I agree, the "expected" payment per block was nice, even if it's not totally accurate (which is normal) I hate to see it go down as time go by but it was a nice information for me. ;-)

Added 10 x S3+ coupons..... Smiley

I'm not in the market, but I'm simply curious... How much are the S3 coupons discounting? Why/when did they issue these.

Thanks!

People re-paste, then switch miner on-it reports better numbers for a first 12 hours-and these fellows post giddily about it. They don't post that later it goes back to the same numbers as before or worse
Every underperforming unit I have repasted (2 so far), have run better weeks after working on them.

well, 2 out of 2 and 1 out of one (mine) makes no rule, especially if we are talking about different batches. B1-3 had a "weaker" controller that resulted in some machines hashing at 410-415 GH. I had one of these and re-pasting it made absolutely no difference.

I got two unit from Batch 1, One rocking solid at 504GH and the other one running at stock freq and only at 424. He did run one month at 440 but i never understood why ... I tried reboot, shutdown/cooldown. I'm wondering if i should repaste it since it's not so successful around here.

What is up with the large swings in average TH/s per shift?   Why does is it swing that much?
NetDomain hashrate move from 150TH to 900TH.
What would the explanation for that be?   One that makes economic sense.   That was more my question.

Only him can answer that, unless he's running after luck.
1733  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN‘s Liquid Cooled Miner C1: It is not only cool, but it is cool on: October 16, 2014, 06:13:34 PM
There will be some kits soonish for multiple units, but generally you can't put 5kW of heat in an arrangement like this [easily]. Coolant temps would be too high by the 5th unit, and the head pressure required to go through 5 sets of waterblocks would require pumps in series which is never a great idea. Remember the tube cross section is pretty low, so the minor losses become significant if you try and increase flow rate significantly - which is what you need to cool 5 units on one loop.

For now, the shipping on the second individual kit for now is only about $15, so you get the entire kit delivered for about $65.

They were charging me 35$ to ship to Canada.

On the second kit?

Sorry missed it ! You're right, i'm wrong =>the shipping on the second individual kit
1734  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN‘s Liquid Cooled Miner C1: It is not only cool, but it is cool on: October 16, 2014, 06:00:11 PM
There is a small savings in cost, but IMO the C1 isnt revolutionary by any means, and will ship almost a week later than S3+ units will (which is a ~$20/0.05BTC difference)

Theres a higher risk of leaks and failure with this design i think, and for most people taking up slightly less space, with a large rad dangling someplace, wont offer much benefit as the S3+ is fairly easy to stack on its side anyways.

If someone can point to a 5kW-sized radiator/pump that could run multiple C1 units in parallel for under $150 though, thats a different story

BTC0.4 for an S3 with power. I'll provide shipping label

Same here ! (Also depends on how much it cost to ship to Montreal)

Just my 2 cents but we all know they run/test those machines before they ship it. They had PSU failure and they closed their eyes ...

This is really sad ...
I think you have a valid point. Unless, they only tested for less than a week prior to shipping. I would give them the benefit of doubt since they have been really good miner manufacturer. I'm sure all the miners have horror stories with other ASIC miner manufacturers especially with pre-orders not delivering on time and many problems from the start.

I definitely will purchase S4s. But it's matter of when I see most of the miners are satisfy. There will be few who will never be satisfied no matter what.

Developping an internal power supply required 2 things : A lot of time and a lot of testing (passimg all the regulations)

I only use Antmimer products, hope they learn from it
