1761  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which bullion dealers who take Bitcoin do you trust? on: February 25, 2015, 11:16:06 AM
Thanks for the information guys, keep it coming! I just want to make sure things go smoothly when I start getting my first bars, Amagi metals looks perfect for what I want, I'm not looking for anything too big just yet.
1762  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: new Marketplace child board: Nickle & Dime trades on: February 25, 2015, 11:14:11 AM
Big sellers and buyers go to exchanges and well known traders to do their trading, this isn't necessary.
1763  Economy / Service Discussion / Which bullion dealers who take Bitcoin do you trust? on: February 25, 2015, 10:31:34 AM
So I've been poking around at various merchants that take Bitcoin for bullion and I wanted to know for small amounts which ones do you guys trust the most? I noticed a couple of them have minimum quantities but if you could recommend me a solid merchant to trade with that would be great, I'm probably going to end up buying a few 10 gram or 1 ounce bars in the future, gold or silver.
1764  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Zombies apocalypse is coming . on: February 25, 2015, 10:04:05 AM
Gravity takes care of zombies, which is why we'd only have to worry about them if we went into space.
1765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Miner Aquifer Files for Bankruptcy on: February 25, 2015, 09:04:17 AM
Aquifer, a California-based Bitcoin mining firm, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company filed on February 19, but the official documents have just been made available today.

Read here: http://www.coinfinance.com/news/bitcoin-miner-aquifer-bankruptcy

All cloud-mining sites are either ponzie or go down hard.
Not an Era of mining

Badly managed or scam artist cloud mining sites go down hard, others are doing just fine because they provide honest services, mining is fine, it's just like with exchanges though and things like that, you can't have some random guy setting this shit up who doesn't know a thing about what he's getting into and expects to be a millionaire in a week.

There are often quiet moments on this forum, I don't think it has died at all, there just isn't anything very exciting going on, if you see any spam posts just report them and move on, if Bitcoin rises again or does something you can expect people to spam the fuck out of this place.

It's really cool and funny how US can own Nuclear bombs and shit , and the others countries simply can't . *world peace* yep right

They are also the only nation in history to have ever used these devices on civilians, with lots of people trying to claim without it they wouldn't have won or they casualties would be enormous for there side.

Nowadays many people already believe that it was the USSR who actually nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In a few decades this will be taken for granted, so don't be surprised when Japan starts to demand reparations from Russia one day.

Holy shit they don't do they? Then again I've seen what's been posted up about what some Americans believe on history so I wouldn't be surprised.

1771  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mars Missions Are A Scam on: February 24, 2015, 01:03:57 PM
"Mars One" will be the biggest lie of all, they are just gonna make money off the reality show about the project..

This is what I was thinking. They'll just make a reality show out of the section process and that's about as far as it will go.

According to wikipedia:

Quote
Organizers plan for that crew, selected from thousands of applicants who paid an administrative fee, to become the first residents of Mars with every step of the crew’s journey will be documented for a reality television program which would partially fund the project

I wonder how much that fee was? Could be one giant scam.

I think the fee was to get rid of spam applications and it probably wasn't high.

Bullshit, that's what they want people to believe, it's like those scams that try and get you to pay up money in order to get an internet 'job' which turns out to be a virus or some shit lol Tongue

HURRAY! It's about time someone came up with a solution to slow ass signals for the internet! It would absolutely be fantastic to not be limited by where you live etc. if you wanted to get a fast internet connection, hell, this kind of thing could make travelling fun. I take it Li-fi is similar to fibre optic where it uses light instead of electricity to send data? I don't know too much about this kind of technology.

Don't be too excited. BT can surely slow down even light itself Smiley.

Oh please, everyone know that's Virgin, they're capable of affecting ping for no reason.

That's part of the problem, it's convincing them, I never said it would be easy Cheesy
1775  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sealand - turned into BitcoinLand? on: February 24, 2015, 08:36:48 AM
For me Sealand is far too small to accommodate millions of Bitcoiners. The total area of the Principality of Sealand is just 2.5 hectares (i.e 25,000 sq.m).

If people genuinely want to create a Bitcoin friendly state, the best thing to do would be to pick out a small country that isn't landlocked and work from there, contact the finance minister and offer investments etc.
1776  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mars Missions Are A Scam on: February 24, 2015, 08:16:40 AM
I honestly think that they're real.

What purpose would a scam serve in this case? It's not like any of us have to contribute to the Mars landings.

I heard each person pays an application fee? juding by the amount of interest and applicants the scam could simply be applying for something that has little chance of ever starting?

Is that fucking true? If so that's really bad, the worst part about all this is the media has clearly been doing barely any checking on them so they're just doing free advertising all the time.

The jist of the article is that is much, much more complicated than anyone is anticipating.  It'll happen some day, but first I think we'll go back to the moon, and then to a near Earth asteroid.  Or there are plans to gravity capture an asteroid and put it into orbit around the moon, then go practice there for Mars.  I think expecting us to go from here, today, straight to Mars is a bit grandiose; there are a lot of intermediate steps that need to happen first.

Asteroids are a far more realistic venture, one asteroid alone even if it was a relatively small one would contain billions worth of precious metals, that would make the return trip worth it and could easily fund future space missions.
1777  Other / Off-topic / Photoshop CS6 Annoyances with Image > Adjustments on: February 24, 2015, 08:06:30 AM
Hey guys, I'm finally going to be doing quite a lot of updating on my main website ( I know it's about time right? Tongue ) and now I am assured my computer is in working order I have come back to an old extremely annoying problem in Photoshop where when you try to go to Image > Adjustments and change the brightness/contrast levels etc. up to a certain point the damn thing just resets itself back to the original position! Now I'm making sure I'm not being stupid and pressing cancel or anything and there's no apply button I can see to make sure it sets properly so there is clearly something going on in options elsewhere.

Does anyone else have experience with this? Let me know, what happens is in the preview it sets up fine but then everything goes back to the way it was or only changes very slightly if at all.

Edit: Oh wait a minute, I think I discovered what was wrong, how weird, I was using a noise filter and uniform blur fucks things up but Gaussian blur works absolutely fine.
1778  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much do you report each day? on: February 24, 2015, 07:39:53 AM
2 - 3 posts a day depending on how aggressive the spammers behave, some days there's nothing at all, the reason you don't see anything may well be because a lot of us are keeping an eye out and are pretty fast reporting them.
1779  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mars Missions Are A Scam on: February 24, 2015, 07:09:30 AM
The fact that these people have so blatantly advertised it as a 'one way trip' just shows you how much contempt they have for people, I would never work with anyone with such a disregard for their own peoples' safety, It could possibly make sense if you were going to try sending these guys to a planet with atmosphere but they're basically asking them to die and they don't even have a real plan to get this colony of theirs set up.

I really want to know what their angle is and how they are supposed to benefit from this, yes, there have been resources on Mars found, but because of how far away it is and how there isn't a natural supply of oxygen they probably wouldn't last a day, going by that logic, the moon is closer and we already have operations going on there so there's a better chance of rescue if something goes wrong.
1780  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help me developing project on: February 23, 2015, 10:59:42 PM
If you are genuinely trying to do something with your own land then this might be pretty useful.

http://opensourceecology.org/gvcs/

These are real blueprints and designs for various machines used in industry that you can build from scratch using welded scrap parts etc. much cheaper than anything you'd have to pay for from a company, it even includes really basic stuff like building machines to make bricks with and dig trenches.
