Probably not. Why would it? The ABC chain enjoys a healthy dev ecosystem, with multiple competing clients working. The dissolution of the paid team for one of these implementations will likely have a negligible effect upon the coin. Bitmain as high as 85% layoffs. Thus prepared for the dump of BCH! Thus the effect on BTC and other cryptos will be down (at least for a bit) on this coming dump, IMHO. There a different channels at reddit and youtube. Which one is from the team? What is the reason why they don't use bitcointalk anymore? IMHO, they don't use bitcointalk anymore is that they are tired of hearing 1) their storage cloud solution is NOT worth renting/building/ or stealing the equipment to use and set up (as yet) 2) address the question on 'what have they been doing" the last 2 years their timeline is out of whack and late 3) the whole 'delegate fiasco' where the top forging folk play games with LISK payouts and hash rate and effect on the project 4) why are you not on bitcointalk anymore? 5) where is the proof (beef) on your 10c to Amazon Clouds $1.00 as you state decentralized cloud storage solution? 6) whatever happened to the 'minerbox' project? 7) ie where is the progress, besides 'late' or 'very late' progress with then a re-do to make the previous mentioned even later? (rinse/wash/repeat) and lastly 8 why will you never see a reply anywhere on the above anywhere by the devs on this on bitcointalk..that would only encourage even more questions...best to just stay away  9) The impossibility of getting their Siacoin wallet pswd to work....have tried 3x to install wallet and do 2nd long 16 words or so pswd key (including copy/paste) and always comes up as an error. Asked help of sia folk on forums and about ...nada...can't get a wallet to even work in any manner (win 10 64 bit edition microsoft edge and firefox tried in case it was the browser..again ..deafening silence... 10) those who have had the above work and get the wallet in and the 2nd 16 words or whatever word length pswd to work...a goodly number of them can't synch the wallet and have to try and re-install wallet...again rinse/wash/repeat ...anyway....as you can see they would get 'killed' if they answered questions on bitcointalk..better to just cherry pick replies on discord or main platforms they use brad |

Bitmain is Set to Layoff BCash Developers to Get Rid of Fluff

Signs aren't looking too positive for the Chinese mining giant before it is set to go public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
This time around, Bitmain is reportedly laying off up to 50 employees starting this week. The reason: redundancies.
Allegedly most of the targeted employees are part of the Copernicus team that works on BCash operations.
It could get worse
It might not stop at 50 employees either according to a report from Primitive founding partner Dovey Wan.
If the report is true, the layoffs could target up to 50% of Bitmain’s 2,500 headcount - a massive shakeup for the business looking to IPO.
For now, Bitmain has yet to comment on the matter but according to Dovey Wan, reports like that are ”usually very high accuracy, posted by employees themselves.”

Well, how likely are you to buy ASIC equipment of any flavor or hell BTC in general, if you were or are living on crypto/BTC now?
I myself retired on crypto/BTC on Jan 13th, 2018 when life was good, unicorns, rainbows, fairy-dust and Bambi all conspired to make the BTC price 'wonderful'
Alas, my 'crypto-retirement' broke the BTC price. (It's how my luck rolls, don't ya know)
Thus living on crypto, it makes little sense to me to spend BTC for hardware on the 'fairy-dust' hope of prompt arrival of equipment from an ASIC maker and making more BTC out then you put into Equipment.
(alas, the good old days when this is true)
So, how many of you are going to 'buy ASIC' equipment if you were/are living on BTC?
If so how much? And you rational on this new reality?
My 'viewpoints' on such are in the next post and in the poll. Please take the poll as well.
Will be interesting to see how many people like me can either embrace or buck their ASIC addiction under these real or supposed circumstances that you are living on BTC now...what to do about ASIC's?

PoW mining is dead/unprofitable for everyone but the Ultra Rich that can monopolize the majority of Hashrate & rewards. For everyone else it is a suckers bet, they are guaranteed to lose. Low interest Proof of Stake coins are the only viable options left for the little guy to actually profit.  yep, the 'only' mining I recommend now is 'Attic Mining' you SELL all the stuff in the attic, daunting though that may be, on eBay of what you probably would die with anyway, being lazy and all, and buy BTC with it! IF BTC goes tulips, you have an empty attic to make into a rec room, house value goes up 10-15k USD...win/win. If BTC pumps also you are even more golden! myself I have 5k USD of crap up there at least I could sell on eBay..but is it sooooooo borrrrring....alas! Anyway, what I tell newbies to do for getting BTC now, that or Saturday Garage Sales and/or Thrift shops with the same sell on eBay and buy at BTC angle. later brad |

Well, at least you don't REALLY need to look at the price anymore... You have been able to retire early. You have already cashed out enough to carry you until you receive your state retirement, social benefits, plus a private pension plan. You still have a stash bigger than most guys here. You made it FFS! Just stop always seeing the glass half empty and enjoy your well-deserved retirement, bro! But, But, first I have to cope with my lack (or soon thereof) of ASIC equipment. The horror! The dismay. 5 plus years gonna have to go 'cold turkey' by Spring 2019. (Believe it or not, still mining 4-year-old KNC Titans on Fujicoin (FJC) scrypt-N and heating the house...I lose $25 a month at these prices directly but gain more in the heating of the house this winter, then the $25 loss. all with 12 Titan cubes. The other 30 cubes are off at the data hall. Shut the hell off. KNC Titans got some major evil going on, I mean Mordor level evil ...they never seem to die out!) Anyway, 1) My current ASIC addition is coming to an end! (Ack! The horror! No more LED's and Whirly fan noises in the basement! Ack!) 2) Now I have also had to NOT look at prices this last year for BTC..that used to be a great hobby during the pump, that is taken away from me now as well. 3) Also, I'm having issues with watching the regular economy also, I expect a pretty good recession in the wings. This is just my personal opinion, so don't take it as any sort of 'truth'. I think buying mining equipment is not worth it, especially not for me. I've yet to find anyone on here that is a javascript guy actually working on any of this LISK stuff.
(yeah, I have a mess of LISK from the ICO, but this is a concern)
would like to hear on here from anyone how the whole process is shaking out in their view.

Basically that makes us panic because we don't have guidelines. As a wise crypto currency player, we should equip ourselves with crypto currency knowledge so that we still have a basis for the decisions that we will make. We should stay calm when the conditions are very volatile because if we are reckless then we will only be wrong in making decisions and finally we actually suffer losses. Don't be panic and stay calm while thinking about the right strategy to take advantage of the steps.
Tranquility is the key to achieving success in the world of cryptocurrencies. Without being able to control calm, we cannot get good results. Without calm, we will fail. This is what we must avoid, everyone who can be patient and also maintain calm, they will always be ready to face everything. The world of cryptocurrency is so cruel, so calm down and be kind to avoid bad situations. I find 'tranquillity' the key to 'delusion'. The more deluded I am that I know what I am doing with BTC and the Crypto-Universe...the happier I am. Thus to be lame and clueless ...and self-deluded...is the 'reality' of crypto. You try to look at this stuff logically and you are anything but tranquil, IMHO. |

The math is harsh for me in that all my spending is from crypto (at least for the next 2.5 years till full retirement at 66 and 2 months and plan to take my traditional investments then)
thus BTC to Hardware (on the trust of timely arrival and profit ...based on BTC pumping and taking BTC and/or all other alts with it) seems kinda silly in my situation. Now if you wanted to get this say from your
regular job income vs a Snowmobile say that may make more sense. But if folk are counting on a BTC pump in price and you are living on crypto..seems best to wait for the BTC price pump with my current
BTC in hand. I have enough issues just spending BTC to eat/clothe self/ and generally get bath soap/ laundry soap with such...all these social conventions like eating and bathing burning up my BTC! The horror!
So I will sit on sidelines on hardware likely. However, still mining 4-year-old KNC Titan miners using scrypt-N for Fujicoin (FJC) ..hey at 10c KwH vs heating my house in the winter it is a $25 buck loss at the
current $4k BTC prices and xfer rate...so what the heck. The KNC Titans will be 'doorstops' by the end of winter, however, I'm sure, due to the 4c plus kWh price rise of summer rates. They are 'truly evil' to
have lasted that long in any fly by night way...KNC Titans ...the Sargon/Mordor of the crypto mining universe...the undead! Ack!
anyway, looks like I'm out unless USB stick mining comes back and I need an itch.
Guess it is time to get the BTC node working again in the basement so when I do shut off my FJC KNC Titans, I will at least have something with blinking LCD lights in the BSMT)
