Help me out here, are you guys saying that Maria is affiliated with B&H?
1782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Coming next week-- the world's first handheld Bitcoin device, the Ellet! on: June 13, 2012, 03:54:57 PM
So is this real or not?
In 4-6 weeks, same as the magazine. Grin

Seriously, I have a theory: I'll bet MNW was pissed at the slow development cycle (perhaps even so with the magazine), and decided to publicly announce it in order to kick everyone into high gear. Protip: Doing that makes mistakes more likely, and won't help quality control and "making a perfect product". As you should have learned already.
1783  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1000 BTC Donation to www.bitcointalk.org on: June 13, 2012, 03:31:29 PM
Haha... So, you're just going to chalk up a $100K loss to experience and karma? Yeah, seems legit.
+1. Extremely suspicious that someone would leave a bunch of money and run, just because they don't want to be identified, even privately.
1784  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1397 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, Port 80 Mining, No Invalid Blocks on: June 13, 2012, 03:05:52 PM
I received an email trying to extort some money with threat of DDoS this morning.  Website is temporarily offline, though the DB server is still running and mining servers aren't getting hit too hard.  You may have some packet loss, but shares are still going through fairly well.
More skiddies on summer vacation. Roll Eyes
1785  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC = The end of decentralized mining on: June 13, 2012, 03:04:59 PM
If no ASICs exist, that just means there is the ever-looming possibility that someone (governement, banks, etc) can still create one and fuck everyone over.

If they exist in the hands of the people, that makes the above scenario less likely or impossible.

What's so hard to understand about that?
1786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Selling online never been easier thanks to Mt.Gox's new “Pay Now” button! on: June 13, 2012, 02:23:57 PM
Feature request: The ability to view and delete buttons that have been created. Unless I missed something obvious, there is no way to see buttons that I have created once I have navigated away from the page where I make them.
1787  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: June 13, 2012, 01:29:53 PM
Yeah the "Blocked for too many requests" filter is set absurdly low. Just clicking around the site a little bit will trigger it, and then you must wait a bit for it to reset.
1788  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Powercolor 7990 on: June 13, 2012, 01:27:34 PM
Gotta also remember that AMD is gunning for the GTX690, so heat be damned.  They'll find a way to be competitive with nVidia.  If that means beefier components, then so much the better for miners.
Well sometimes I wonder - Since ATI was bought by AMD I wonder if they are getting a bit more conservative. When's the last time anyone put an AMD processor in a no-compromises performance build?
1789  Economy / Goods / Re: Automotive: Technical Questions, Factory OEM Parts & Technical Information on: June 13, 2012, 01:22:52 PM
I can't find any kind of remote start system for the 2007 model year Sad. As far as the diagrams are concerned, the hardware is fully capable of supporting a remote start system from the factory, I guess they just didn't include it that year.
Ah well, thanks anyway. I wonder if a newer one would work such as the module from a 2008 or 09 dropped in, but at this point I may not be keeping it for too much longer anyway so no point dropping cash on it.
1790  Economy / Goods / Re: Automotive: Technical Questions, Factory OEM Parts & Technical Information on: June 13, 2012, 03:31:28 AM
That reminds me, I know some models of my car come with factory remote start, but when I asked the dealer if they could retrofit it they said they could only add on a third-party aftermarket remote start. Are they full of BS or is it actually not possible to add the factory remote start of the vehicle wasn't ordered with it?

Lexus GS350 from 2007.

Dwolla does only work with US banks, but the amount being withdrawn is greater than the amount being funded with that method, so they are indeed having to wire funds to Dwolla to enable withdrawals. Still shouldn't take that long though.

Good info, thanks.
1794  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are you listen ( for Music ) right now? on: June 13, 2012, 02:23:04 AM
Fuck the Allman bros, if you're going to listen to some awesome music from Fillmore East, Jimi Hendrix is the only way to go.  Cool

Sure, I can get you Techstream. But its not going to do what you want it to. Techstream is factory diagnostic software and will not allow you to flash anything custom with it. I am not really involved in the aftermarket tuning scene, but I know there are solutions out there using the mongoose cable you mentioned. Sorry I can't help you with your tune, but I can still hook you up with Techstream when you're ready.
I thought using Techstream required a TIS login... and from what I heard there were curves available for download from TIS. But perhaps I was victim of faulty information. Could you explain what kind of stuff is available and what can be done with that software?
1797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Coming next week-- the world's first handheld Bitcoin device, the Ellet! on: June 13, 2012, 01:44:17 AM
So what is this secret weapon I heard about before cut off from the chat?

I'm guessing it's a wrist watch? hehe
Come on, spill all the info, you know you want to.
Just how far along is it, anyway? It's been more than a week since it was supposed to be announced in a week. I see that the OP has been edited.
1798  Economy / Goods / Re: Automotive: Technical Questions, Factory OEM Parts & Technical Information on: June 13, 2012, 01:40:24 AM
Do you have access to Toyota TIS and the Techstream software? I've been wondering about obtaining a Mangoose programmer and flashing my car with a different throttle curve, but can't seem to get access to TIS without paying a bucketload of money.
1799  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: June 13, 2012, 01:03:07 AM
Im getting the same message others are getting

"No password hash found please contact verify@bitcoinica.com to request manual verification".

I have the same password that i used while the site was live and a previous confirmation email and ID.

Whats next folks?
Sounds likely that they have a partial or old database, and are verifying those that they have available to them.
I'll bet those that can't verify with a password all signed up or changed their passwords recently.

Well at least the cover didnt mention buying drugs at silk road  Smiley

I got a lot of flac initially about the current cover too. After today I have more proof of why it was perfect for the issue.  Cheesy
The next one needs to have the V for Vendetta mask interposed with a skull. That would look more awesome.
