181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 28, 2024, 04:51:16 PM
Affiliate links are the cheapest form of advertisement for gambling companies.

Upon registering on their website, they will give your account an "affiliate link" where you have your respective unique code that you can share to your friends and to strangers. Then, these people will input your unique code when they register and you get a commission from there.

Like what I mentioned, this is probably the cheapest way of advertising a certain gambling casino since you spread their website through word of mouth. Not only that, it creates a chain reaction where people would get their unique affiliate code that they can share in return to others to receive a commission.

I say "cheap" because usually the commission that you receive is relatively low. Also, the commission that you receive goes into your account in which you are tempted to use it on your gambling activities.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: User experience Trends in Online Gambling: What's Next? on: March 28, 2024, 01:29:42 PM
Hi everyone!
looking at how many new gaming platforms are popping up, I thought it would be interesting to talk about, based on your experience and preferences:
- what trends would you like to see in the future (eg interactive game design, innovative customer service or loyalty programs, etc.).

I would like to ask for an improvement to overall customer service experience.

During casino games, it is inevitable that a person would experience some technical difficulties, bugs, or questions during the course of their experience. One problem that I often see is that the customer service takes a relatively long time for them to respond about the said query.

Hopefully this can be remedied by providing more tools to improve customer service interaction in order to address swiftly the problems that people encounter.

Quote
- what improvements or features would you specifically appreciate or suggest (what is missing)?

Like what I mentioned above, an improvement to customer service experience is paramount to the success of a gambling company. While I do understand that some problems may take an additional amount of time due to the circumstances involved (e.g. bugs, etc.), still, an update from them would most likely be appreciated.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 08:50:48 AM
People are going to experience different things depending on how they are gambling. If they are playing slots they will get that excited feeling on a big win, but if betting sports they may feel excited watching the team they bet on score. I think it might depend on the size of the bet for some as well.

I agree with what you said as it t really depends on how you would view gambling as a whole. Some see it as a chore, while others view it as a source of entertainment.

Naturally, if a person views gambling as a means of income, they may have mixed emotions about the whole process. Sure, excitement may come in when they hit a big win or jackpot but guilt may soon come after if you fail to be responsible enough with your winnings.

On the other hand, if you view gambling as a source of entertainment, then feeling excited may be a natural occurrence. The adrenaline of not knowing what the results are and the waiting game to see if you have won against your friends may be the feeling that some chase for.
184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is age a limitation in Bitcoin on: March 27, 2024, 05:30:34 PM
Hi there to all of you. One of the most amazing things I've noticed about Bitcoin is that it doesn't have an age requirement before using it or creating a wallet. In traditional banking, however, one must be 16 or older to open an account, unless they have assistance from a guide who helped them do so. Additionally, no matter how young you are, no one can question you about how you make money because no one keeps an eye on your wallet.

I do not think that age is NOT a factor in the cryptocurrency world given that most exchanges do not ask for any KYC or personal information.

For example, you can easily find an exchange that only requires you to fill up basic information. Most exchanges also do NOT have the option of providing any KYC documents unless the exchange that you are creating an account to is your local exchange in that country.

In the Philippines, our local exchange (coins.ph) has a very stringent application in order to avail of the benefits. If you are a free user, meaning you do not submit any KYC, then you only have a maximum withdrawal of $200 per month which is very low. If you avail of the high-tier benefits, then you are required to submit KYC and your withdrawal limits would increase up to $10,000 per year.

Also, age is also not a factor when it comes to understanding the fundamentals of BTC. As long as you are open in learning its fundamentals, then age would not be a hindrance to your journey here.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: March 27, 2024, 04:52:43 PM
Do you prefer games where you know right away whether you've won (or lost) casino style, or do you prefer other games like sports betting? Do you have any other favorite games?

I actually like both casino games and sports betting as they require different strategies depending on which mode I would choose.

For casino games, there are lots of variety as this can cover card games, slots, and other things as well. Obviously, every game has their respective strategies that can be employed in order to at least have a slight advantage against the house, with the exception of slots. In card games such as poker, you can employ tactics that can confuse your opponents in order to achieve victory with a weaker hand against them.

For sports betting, this requires more effort but this is also the most rewarding especially if you can predict some outcome depending on the knowledge and information you have employed. If you have data available in a certain team, then you can at least predict/forecast some of the score or match on which team would win.

At the end of the day, it really depends on your preference. If a person prefers to play at a fast-paced environment, then casino games may be the fit for him. But if a person prefers an all-out strategy which involves applying data + information on sports, then sports betting may be the right platform for him/her.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still truly achieve anonymous gambling in crypto? on: March 27, 2024, 04:19:17 PM
Crypto has been known for anonymity. During the early stage, we like to promote it using the words "decentralized" and "anonymous ", and it's the main reason why a lot of gamblers have chosen to gamble using crypto to gain full privacy, but it seems like things have really change a lot now as gamblers are looking for a casino that are licensed while some casinos who promotes anonymous gambling eventually act like a fiat casino that requires KYC.

What do you think about this one, where is are we heading? And can we still consider crypto casino different from fiat casino?

There is still that difference but remember that KYC was enabled in order to follow the regulations of some countries that have specific laws for it.

Remember, a fiat casino requires personal appearance at a physical casino. Not to mention, there are strict regulations when it comes to registering your profile as most of the latter lean towards the implementation of KYC. On the other hand, there are still some crypto casinos that offer no KYC but expect that their security/reputation may not be as secured compared to others.

If a gambling casino implements KYC, it is also expected that they have the responsibility to safeguard your information. Sure, anonymity in cryptocurrency may be defeated but this is the only way to consolidate with some laws implemented against casinos in the first place.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: March 27, 2024, 05:07:17 AM
I was exposed to gambling at a very young cage considering that both my father and my grandfather were notorious gamblers via cockfighting.

Just to share a story of mine: back when I was a kid, my father used to bring us to our farm in the province where the latter is a dedicated place in raising fighter chickens. As a young kid, I was very clueless on why we had a farm in the first place. At first, I thought that this farm was created for livestock since there were lots of chickens and fruits. But what surprised me was that there was a ring in the middle of the farm that was like a mini-boxing ring.

After a few years, my father would bring us to these arenas where he would use our chickens and let them fight in this televised arena show in our country. Before the match, people would bet on which side or chicken would win and the minimum bet was like $8-$10 at that time. Long story short, this was the time that I got exposed to gambling and I realized this after a few years of discovering that our farm was built solely for breeding fighter chickens.

188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dana thought he lost $80k one night and his advice for gamblers on: March 26, 2024, 03:11:10 PM
<..snip..>
He was interviewed on Lex Fridman's channel just today. Funny how he thought it was just $80K but it's actually $3M. Rich men lose more when they get drunk playing blackjack.

He advises about winning and losing in gambling and if you get depressed because of it, gambling is not for you. He meant winning and losing are part of the game where great things and bad things happen.

Oh my God! Imagine the past losses that he incurred- he probably thought that he only lost "xxx" amount of money but in reality, he lost more than what he thought of.

This really shows on how gambling can quickly cloud your judgement especially if you pair it with other vices. Like what you mentioned OP, he probably has that automatic response whenever he losses like he bets quickly in order to recover it.

This should be an eye opener to everyone. I think it is definitely a good practice for you guys to track down your losses in order to prevent any unexpected loss. Even if you have a big budget on gambling, step on the breaks and re-evaluate your position. Keep your head high and your feet on the ground- count your losses and call it a day if it is too much!
189  Local / Pilipinas / Re:Crypto Taxation on: March 26, 2024, 02:01:53 AM
Just a question, assuming na maipasa ito, possible din kaya na makuhanan ng tax ang signature campaign earnings natin?

Sa pagkakaintindi ko kasi, if may pumasok na "income" mula sa iyo from different sources, taxable ito dito sa Pilipinas. If they were to approve cryptocurrencies as taxable entities, then ibig sabihin din kaya nito na magkakatax ang signature campaign earnings natin weekly? I really think na medyo magiging complicated ang implementation nito. The only way I see this from happening is if sa mismong exchange magkakatax doon if you convert your BTCs to cash respectively.

I just hope na hindi ito maging kasing burden sa atin. Instead of taxing it, dapat nga mas active ang government natin in promoting cryptocurrencies as an avenue of opportunities for investments.
meron ng Thread or post about this kabayan eh di ko lang matandaan kung saan at paano ko nabasa pero meron ng tanong about sa taxation ng Signature campaign in which parang ang naging majority ng sagot eh mahirap yata tlaga malagyan ng taxation ang Signature campaign .
and according sa mga tanong about sa taxation sa crypto(in which more on trading ) malaking epekto talaga to kaya sana wag na ma approve to unless lagyan ng bracketing kung sino at paano lalagyan ng tax.

Ah this makes sense! Considering na medyo dynamic din ang payments sa signature campaign, mahihirapan makita kung saan bracket nga ito i-cacategorize at ilalagay at the same time. Ang pagkakaalam ko din kasi, kapag MWE (Minimum Wage Earner) ka, exempted ka from payment of any income tax.

Now, will signature campaigns be considered as income tax or capital gains tax? Kung income, pwede pa siguro ma-consider na exempted ito from payment of any income tax; kung CGT, may possibility na pwede itong maging taxable.

Pero tama mga sinabi niyo, mahirap na implementation and execution ito given na you also have to declare it. Pero kagaya nga din na namention dito, if you deposit and withdraw it sa centralized exchange natin (coins.ph), maaaring may tools sila to determine if taxable ba ito or hindi. Pero sa totoo lang, napakadaling ma-circumvent nito if ganito yung magiging implementation in the future.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: March 23, 2024, 05:45:24 PM
<..snip..>

This is an advice based on my experience, don’t ever insert gambling on your schedule if you really don’t have free time for it because it will always result to disaster in both gambling and your life.

I do quite agree with the points that you have raised.

I guess when you try to insert gambling into your schedule, it slowly becomes a hobby that you just cannot miss. For example, if you have a designated schedule for your gambling activities, you actually commit into doing so which thereby makes it a habitual act. Ultimately, this will convert to a normal activity where you would definitely feel the need to accomplish it in order to finish what you have scheduled.

Unfortunately, by relying on statistics alone, people who often gamble long-term would most likely incur a loss due to the odds. With the presence of house edge, this gives the online platform the advantage which would most likely guarantee them the win in the long run.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can bring positivity and light into people's lives on: March 23, 2024, 05:00:09 PM
While gambling is often associated with negative consequences, there are instances where it has brought positivity and light into people's lives. Here are a few cases:
<..snip..>
What are your examples of how gambling has positively impacted your lives, and how do these instances contrast with the common negative perceptions surrounding gambling?

I think we can also discuss the social aspect of gambling on how this can affect your relationships as a whole.

If you try to socialize with people, not only do you connect but you also have the opportunity to broaden your connections. There are people who gamble that are millionaires and have connections that can be quite relevant to your work. Not to mention, you meet different people with different financial capability that can somehow be advantageous in the long run.

While gambling can bring excitement and joy to some, it's essential to acknowledge its potential negative impacts and risks, such as addiction and financial loss.

I agree with you.

Yes, the points that OP raised are the possibilities that one can experience IF that person wins on his gambling games. This is heavily predicated on the fact that the person can win in gambling which is definitely a positive outcome for him. Be reminded, however, that gambling is all about the risks- you fight those odds and see to it that you may be able to conquer them in your favour.

192  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Nakapagtake profit ba ang lahat? on: March 23, 2024, 02:32:01 PM

Actually nag profit ako in a way na tumaas yung value ng BTC ko from signature campaigns. Pero even if nag pump yung price ng BTC around p3.8 million, I still refused to cash it out given na malapit na talaga ang halving.

Personally, I would recommend against people cashing-out their BTCs at this time even if pumalo ulit ito sa p3.8 million. Tandaan niyo, every halving tumataas ang price ng BTC kaya take this as an opportunity to acquire more in the process AND cash it out once pumalo ito for a value more than p4 million.

Yeah , naglabas ako para i treat pamilya ko sa out of town ,ginamit ko yong ilang porsyento  ng aking holding para sa advance Summer escapade kasi mahirap na masyado ma expose pag holiweek super crowded ang mga resort.
mahirap namang masyado panghawakan ang Holding since nagsisimula palang ulit ako mag ipon dahil sa pandemic years ago.

Happy ako na nakapag cash out ka and na treat mo yung family mo due to the increase on the price of BTC.

Ito talaga yung essence of investment- cashing it out and using it for a dignified purpose. At the end of the day, what is the use of your investments kung hindi mo din ito gagastusin? Keep it up!
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Less than 80 days until the 4th Ever #Bitcoin Halving on: March 23, 2024, 01:35:11 PM
We have been getting this high drop of Bitcoin price since the beginning of this month without any move to a new all time high. It seems like we're going to have new record of dump in the history of Bitcoin, I think. This isn't how i pictured this year's halving to be and it may surprise us that this year is going to be the worse halving of all time, with Bitcoin going down to maybe $59-40k-. The expected amount isn't suppose to at a price we have come past since last year, $64k is what we have at the moment and many have been waiting patiently to see the price come back up to either $70k or $73k and with time it will start a positive movement to a greater high.

It's funny that when bitcoin kept increasing in price and touching $73k, everyone was happy and believed that bitcoin would reach $100k this year. But after just a few days bitcoin started correcting to $64k, the majority started to be negative and assumed that bitcoin would fall even further and not be able to go higher after the halving, LOL.

I see bitcoin falling from $73k to $64k as a normal and healthy move. If you think bitcoin has no more bull run this year, I recommend selling all your bitcoin before it drops further. Hurry and sell bitcoin when it costs 64k$ instead you will have to sell bitcoin for 40k$, LOL.

This is a normal response from people who have little to no prior experience in investing in BTC. I mean, by just looking at the price history of BTC every after halving, the price always increases overtime. I do think that this is the perfect opportunity for everyone to take advantage of the halving by investing further with the money that you are willing to lose.

Lastly, as someone who has been in this forum since 2017, I have witnessed several price jumps of BTC. Last 2017, the price of BTC was around $4,000 to $5,000. It stayed for a couple of months then it skyrocketed.

Moral of the story: believe in the power of BTC and the natural consequences of halving!
194  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit locked/pending withdrawals on: March 23, 2024, 12:52:57 PM
Do you have any screenshots of the original ToS that doesn’t include Belgium on the restricted country when you register? This is your only way to redeem yourself because some casino doesn’t block the IP of restricted country which is why you need to pay attention on the ToS before you play.

I definitely agree that this can be the only recourse that OP may exercise given the circumstances surrounding his case.

ToS or Terms of Service are the given laws provided by the gambling platform in order to enforce all of their corresponding rules in a platform. It gives the player an overview on what activities are considered legal or illegal which can be prohibited by the gambling platform upon the stipulations made.

Unfortunately, majority of the ToS provided are against the player as it can be changed overtime without any given notice. Gambling platforms have the full discretion to change/add any stipulation to their advantage, provided that is NOT unreasonable enough to violate any of the laws.

In your case, OP, since Belgium (as you claimed) was recently added to the restriction list without any notice on your part, you now have the obligation to show proof to the contrary- meaning you must present a clear copy of the stipulations under their ToS that Belgium was NOT on the list when you created your account.

Always remember that when you win a significant amount in gambling, these platforms will ask more information about your identity/KYC for further proof and compliance.
195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you feel when you earn merits in your post or replies. on: March 23, 2024, 11:25:23 AM
The common advice here is not to focus on merits but what you're learning, this however is easier said than done, especially for new members to the forum. Merits encourage users and goes to show then that their effort is being appreciated, as those members are still trying to find their feet in the forum.

The downside is if you get addicted to it, you run the risk of becoming desperate for more and more merits, which can norivateone to start merit begging or duplicating posts that have been created a million times over.

I actually agree with your view regarding merits.

There have been numerous of newbies asking the same question over and over again regarding merits. They seem to think that merits would come easily by just posting- it is actually more than that. Unfortunately, instead of being an inspiration it becomes their downfall as they tend to be uninspired when they are slapped with reality that earning merits is not a walk in the park.

Quote
So it's still good advice to not focus on merits and just enjoy the forum. Try out all the different features of Bitcoin and ask questions where you have issues.

I definitely agree with you.

Focus on enjoying and learning things in this forum as most of the information posted here are worth reading. You learn along the way and this will come in handy especially if you are applying this knowledge in posting.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 23, 2024, 10:54:45 AM
I am just wondering if anyone here have ever been in a similar situation before? That is, gambling until you are completely broke with nothing to fall back on?
No money in the bank, no cash in the hand, what did you do?

Or maybe gambled until you are one bet away from going broke (if you lose), do you go ahead and risk the money, or cancel the bet and  keep that money for something more important?

I think people who have experienced this situation are the ones who hit rock bottom. Imagine, you betted every single penny of your remaining money to risk an all-out attack on such gambling experience. I would never imagine putting myself in such a situation where I would risk everything on a single bet.

If that person continuously borrows money, then it is better that you do NOT lend him any cash. This will only become an endless cycle wherein he would borrow money from all of his friends/family in order to recover what has been already lost in gambling. As such and like I always said, the more you gamble, the more you put yourself in a position of risk.

At the end of the day, it is definitely recommended that your friend learns from this experience that he should never put himself in that kind of situation ever again. If ever this happens again, then I am very sorry to say but your friend needs help in order to overcome this addiction.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best way to go about making a crypto casino. on: March 23, 2024, 09:25:07 AM
Starting a casino either as offline or online platform isn't just like opening a shop, it comes at certain cost if I am not wrong I came across a thread which posted breakdown of investment and running cost of a casino which easily exceeds over a million dollar just for the license, security related job salary, games even if you outsourced other things for cost effective price.

Not to mention, it requires some sort of license especially if your home country has some certain laws about it.

Be reminded that creating your own online gambling platform can be quite challenging due to the competition. Lots of new casinos are being created with tons of rewards and sign-up bonuses. You need to NOT just provide a space with better rewards, you must also have the marketing/advertising part figured out. Lastly, even if you do provide all of these services, you must also decide whether to implement a KYC function or not.

Since OP you have mentioned that you have things figured out, I still do recommend reaching to some of the veterans here that have an idea on how to startup a casino. Be reminded, however, that you should take extreme caution when dealing with random messages from people claiming that they are familiar with this process.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 23, 2024, 08:27:38 AM
I think there are those who agree with me and those who do not agree with me, but it remains my personal opinion and it's an opportunity to share it with you on this topic.

So where's the fun when you lose your money?

I think you are mistaking gambling as a whole.

Remember, there are different types of people who enjoy gambling for the following reasons:

  • They enjoy winning and profiting at the same time;
  • They want to feel the adrenaline of the unknown and the anxiety of waiting the results;
  • Some want to gamble just because they want to be competitive; and
  • Some just want to experience the environment of casinos and the amenities.

Just to reiterate, your perspective OP only applies to the first bullet that I pointed out, which is profiting. Sure, it sucks to lose money and it definitely sucks to lose in gambling but if your purpose is different then you would not mind as much.

Remember, there are various people who gamble for different reasons. Sometimes, it is not always about the money that matters- it is the feeling and the experience that makes every gambling activity different.

Help!!!

Hello everyone, I am a newbie and am in dire need of help as I'm eager to learn but I have little or no experience on how to navigate through the forum.
I joined the forum late 2022 but most of my discussions are being moved to off topics, probably because my discussions aren't of good qualities.
One of the reasons why I got depressed and left but I am back now, in good health and sane mind, ready to learn to improve the quality, and also give back positive impact to the community.

Please kindly recommend me books and guide on how to be better.
Thanks in advance

I think the reason on why most of the posts that you comment are moved to off-topic is because the thread itself is too generic or a spam.

Generally, you want to involve into discussions where the topics are somehow unique and interesting. Avoid certain generic topics that have been asked multiple times across this forum. Though that may be the case, I still think that despite the thread being moved to off-topic, that still is irrelevant. What matters is that you delved into a discussion which involves an application of knowledge about your cryptocurrency experience.

If you are eager to earn merits in order to rank up, then the challenge here is for you to create certain discussions that will spark the interest of many. Remember, knowledge is free- the internet has most of the knowledge that you need regarding cryptos. All you need to do is to search and be patient!

Good luck, OP!
