661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dreaming That I'm Playing In A Casino, Do You Have One, on: August 19, 2023, 02:31:55 PM
How about you have you experienced dreaming that you are playing in a casino, is this alarming to you?

Resource :
https://gamblershelp.com.au/lets-talk-gambling/gambling-dreams/

Nope- I have yet to dream about me visualizing myself playing in a physical casino. Maybe the reason is that the access to such physical casinos are somehow relatively easier on my part which gives the reason on why I do not fantasize about it.

Though this may be the case, I have dreamt various situations where I won my most wanted items/money while betting though this is not inside a casino. For example, there happened to be several times where I dreamt of winning my most wanted gun (CSGO) by opening crates. Though this may be gambling, it is not perse inside of a casino though I am playing/gambling in this scenario.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth it to teach older people about bitcoin technology? on: August 18, 2023, 05:19:50 PM
Bitcoin has captured the center of attention, especially with the younger generations showing keen interest in it. Yet, there are those who believe that teaching older individuals about it might not be a wise investment of time. However, we must ponder: does it carry value? This conversation revolves around the question of whether it's worthwhile to educate older generations about bitcoin.

I think it is worthwhile to teach anyone about BTC but it is as important to NOT compel them.

The problem with most is that they tend to compel and force people to listen about something that is somehow technical. With this, people tend to lose their focus and they also tend to show no attention at all. Again, it is better to teach someone who is already interested in a subject; compared to someone who is not interested at all though they may show signs of being attentive.

Let us face it- cryptocurrencies and BTC is a complex process which will take some time in order for its foundation to be grasped. If people are showing signs of curiosity, then by all means teach them. But if you force them into something that they are not interested in the first place, then better avoid forcing them to learn it.
663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies say no to Trading. on: August 18, 2023, 04:39:35 PM
I think I posted this on the forums already but just to mention it again, there was an article that I have read that trading is by no means profitable especially if you are a beginner. According to an article that I have read before, the profits that you make as a beginner trader is at least more or less equal to the salary of a bank teller; and majority of these beginner traders fall-off on the first few months of their trading scheme.

Newbies, cryptocurrency investing/trading is not a quick-way to earn some money. If this were the case, then everyone would be rich by now. If you truly want to save and profit, then it is essential that you put effort into it just like any other investment instruments already present in the market.

To conclude, there is no such thing as "easy money" in all fields. Working hard and doing the smart things/moves may give you more opportunities to be profitable in the future.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling discussion effect on: August 18, 2023, 03:59:11 PM
What’s the effect of gambling discussion here to you? I’m thinking to quit participating on signature campaign that involves gambling discussion in an event that my gambling activities is increasing above my normal habit.

Well, gambling discussions are one of the ways in which we interact with other people as we share our experiences in our day-to-day activities in this field. People also discuss all the possibilities of techniques and tips on how to at least take advantage of the luck given. Not to mention, the gambling board also includes various threads which discusses real-life event/sports news that may give a sense of entertainment to all.

If you feel like participating in a gambling-related signature campaign increases your gambling activity and you are try to lessen it, then feel free to do so. Though I do think that even if one participates in this kind of signature, its association and effect is somehow trivial and relatively small.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you will do? on: August 18, 2023, 03:20:35 PM
Everyone must have experienced loss, whether it's a big or small loss. And he experienced loss more often than he won. Has anyone ever experienced boredom playing gambling because they have been losing more often than winning? If anyone has experienced this, what did you do?

I guess this absolutely tells on what you prioritize on gambling- which is primarily for profit.

People who gamble are divided as to what their purpose/intentions are. Depending on their goals, a person may gamble primarily for profit; while others may gamble just to experience that gush of adrenaline while waiting for their results. Either way, the person gambles and regardless of the result, almost all fall into despair as the cycle continues.

Though this may be the case, I am actually glad that this boredom you experience is what causes you to stop gambling. While others struggle to find the reason to quit, you at least have this "push" that really compels you to stop gambling.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: August 18, 2023, 12:49:28 PM
I spoke to my nephew and he told me that he has never stolen from his mother to gamble. And he gambles with only his savings from his weekly stipend he receives from the family. And he won't gamble if he has no savings to do that. From my observation, he is a responsible gambler that is just enjoying the game and making a little money occasionally. The gambling age in my country is 18+, but his mother is insisting that he must stop. What will be your advice for this young boy?

My advice to the boy would be to learn how to manage his funds correctly especially in this very crucial stage.

If ever he does win in gambling, he must use those funds and recycle them as his new capital in the event he decides to gamble again. In addition, if he needs to manage his finances when it comes to expenditures given that our initial reaction to a "loss" is to recover them quickly by gambling again. As long as he knows his limits, then he must faithfully adhere to his promise.

Gambling is a very difficult act to control due to its very nature. As someone who is as young as 18 years old, he needs guidance and direction in order to avoid all the pitfalls that majority of the people experienced.
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What resources do you have for members who may be dealing with addiction? on: August 17, 2023, 03:21:25 PM
My question to everyone here is that if a member is hooked to this addiction, is their any resources to help that member. If not then what exactly is this community offering? I believe
if such a resources is available it should be on the pinned message. The next thing would be to always update it regularly, as things change quickly in gambling.

Actually, there are lots of threads discussing on how to overcome gambling addiction which has been a problem ever since. The problem is, overcoming such kind of addiction needs determination and effort on the person who wants to cure it. Commitment is the key and no matter how many resources are available, if the person is not willing to change his/her acts, then nothing would happen.

Quote
As addiction is a serious issue, if anyone here has been able to overcome it? Why not share how to overcome with such an addiction. As per my understanding all of these addiction have the same initial therapy. Do you agree with me? Cool

I have witnessed my colleague who overcame addiction, though not gambling addiction perse.

It all starts with one's commitment towards attaining the goal of cleansing himself with this act. If they really put into effort the services available in treating gambling addiction, then it would be relatively easier for them to do it.

669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is all what they say about bitcoin true? on: August 14, 2023, 05:00:09 PM
As a newbie on this forum, for some days now I have been going through threads, reading and trying to understand and getting better knowledge on every single one of them
In a thread someone said "Bitcoin is not all about happiness" can a little more light be thrown on this?

I think you can liken this to the phrase "money is not all about happiness."

To explain this, even if almost everything revolves around money, the satisfaction and happiness you gain from it somehow fades away. Sure, it can definitely make your life comfortable but if you are surrounded by people who just take advantage of what you have; and not because of their genuine feelings about you, you would feel this empty feeling of being surrounded by fake people. This is the reason on why some rich people, despite having everything, fall into depression.

By applying this with BTC, it is very similar given that the latter has a significant value that can be converted to cash. Sure, lots of BTCs can make your life comfortable but true happiness comes being able to receive satisfaction that is beyond money.
670  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: August 14, 2023, 04:37:46 PM

Considering the flow of the Bitcoin market and news about Bitcoin, the increasing popularity and good projection of future adoption, I believe Bitcoin will continue to be profitable as long as the person knows when to sell his holdings.

Bitcoin is a good assets for the future no doubt but while we are hodling it, we also have to look at the profit margin that has been made within the time and we can sell to reinvest when the price is going up again. Some people only want to keep btc in their wallet for years without taking note that they could sell and come back again hodling. However, regards to retirement savings, if we could diversify between btc and real estate investment, we are sure that the old age is going to be a financially secured one because at old age you can't have the strength to move around like you were during the youth age

I would have actually consider adding BTC as my retirement savings but I would be missing a lot during its phases in the market.

Remember that BTC has this phase of experiencing forks, where the mined bitcoins are halved resulting to a massive increase of its price in the market. Not to mention, its volatility makes it a perfect investment for short/long-term depending on the price increase on the market. If I were to fully adopt BTC as my retirement savings, I would be making a commitment of not using/utilizing its potential for short-term gain.

While this may be the case, I would still consider it adding as a portion of my retirement savings for my heirs to benefit in the future should they wish to continue and use it.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Technology is Changing Sports Betting on: August 14, 2023, 03:49:21 PM
I was just wondering how cool it would be when an AI would do the data analysis work. Imagine it analyzing the data and picking up the best odd for a bettor. There is a possibility that an AI could outrun a human being in those spaces and they might excel in it. But, we cannot ignore the fact that a sportsbook won't work on improving their side. Eventually, they would catch up pretty quickly and would limit a bettor's profit from an AI. Do not forget they are once who are known to adopt new and innovative technology first than any other industry. So to an extent AI betting would help the bettor but it wont last in the long run.
It is doubtful that gamblers will ever get an edge over the casino using an AI, and this is because an AI depends on the data that is given and your expertise in order to produce the results that you want, and in that respect casinos are above gamblers, they have all the data they may wish and they can hire the best experts to combat any strategy players may come up with, so those dreams that gamblers have of using an AI in this way are likely to remain just dreams.

Like what I previously mentioned, using AI in order to determine which odds are greater should be used as a supportive tool only.

AIs are created in order to be a supplement on what humans could achieve on their own. If you base purely your decisions on the predicted outcome of an AI, then you would run on the risk of losing at the end. At the end of the day, AIs can only do as much as gathering data and predicting outcomes but the ultimate decision still comes with you. There still remains a human aspect on outcomes and matches in sports-betting.

In conclusion, sure- AI can definitely help you decide on which team to choose but this should not be used primarily as your main and deciding tool for every game.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: August 14, 2023, 09:17:18 AM
What are your thoughts on the recent matches on the FIDE World Chess Cup 2023?

I watched the game between Ivanchuk vs Magnus and Magnus won with a score of 2-0 against the legend himself.

During their first game, Magnus was able to grind down the game during the middle game leaving that e6 pawn too strong for Vasyl to hold. On their second game yesterday, Magnus, with the black pieces, managed to get a drawing position (which he believed that he could grind it for a win) which prompted Vasyl to resign.

Fabi was also able to win against Duda and the former mentioned in an interview that the lines he played was inspired from his preparation against Magnus since their match on the 2018 WCC.

Who do you think will win for this year's FIDE World Chess Cup 2023?
673  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: P2P Scams : Where does the government stand on: August 13, 2023, 08:17:56 PM
Now my question is that in my country, crypto is not legalized, so in case if anyone is scammed through P2P, we can't take up this matter in the legal court because the country does not recognize the transactions of crypto in the first place.

I think this is exactly the reason on why government prohibits the utilization of BTC in their jurisdiction. Since no laws have been created by their respective Congress in dealing with anything related with cryptocurrencies, this follows that if you want to venture in this practice, then you accept the risks that are associated with it.

Quote
Does this gives a free hand to scammers as they know that they cannot be punished by a court of law  Huh

I think that is a double-edged sword depending on the person they run into.

The difficult thing with cryptocurrencies is knowing which area has jurisdiction over the case in the event of a scam. If you deal with someone via p2p and they have scammed you, depending on where you are staying, then such is enforceable against them. In contrast, if they have dealt with someone who prohibits the utilization of cryptocurrencies, then they cannot enforce such action against them.
674  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much should I invest in cryptocurrency as a beginner on: August 13, 2023, 07:52:52 PM

A beginner I think should first experience the bull run and then take profit so he could make better decisions after the bear market. It's not a matter of how much or whether he should diversify but see for himself which projects are going to last or he should just be onboard with BTC only.

One should have BTC before thinking about adding altcoins but most importantly, when to buy and when to sell. There isn't much of a risk when you get onboard during the bull run.

Well, everyone's dream is to experience the bull run despite a beginner or a veteran investor. In fact, that is indeed, the dream of investing in BTC- by experiencing gains that are far more superior compared to any other investment mechanism present in the market.

Personally as a newbie, you should only invest the amount you are willing to lose. By investing, you should have considered the risks associated with it. Regardless of whether you earn or lose your money, the fact that you have experienced this venture adds to your whole investment knowledge as a beginner.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing Slot Games On Demo/Free mode Vs Live/Paid Mode on: August 13, 2023, 05:56:56 PM
And then, i became confused, and i began asking myself if it was possible i could have won this same amount if I had continued to play in live/paid mode ..

Those with more experience on how slot games work should please explain this..

Is it possible that playing slot game in demo mode has some kind of connection to playing it on live mode, like is your playing data on live mode transferred to demo mode and vice versa if at any point in time for some reason, you switch in-between those modes ?

Oh definitely- the demo mode has increased rates that will entice you to actually try the live one.

Just to give you an example, before, there was this CSGO website where you can try their demo version. You would spin a roulette and it would occasionally land on an expensive weapon like 5 out of 10 times. It was like 50% chance of winning based on my luck on the demo mode. When I actually tried the paid version, I risked $100 and lost everything in the process.

In conclusion, these demo modes that let you witness your "potential" winnings should you actually try it are somehow a scam. Rates are rigged and they are tools in order to convince you to actually try the real thing.
676  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoin do to Bank what email did to the post office? on: August 13, 2023, 05:26:29 PM
Bitcoin is changing the payment system in the world right now. Payments made in Bitcoin are always fast to receive and do not days to receive.

Nope- I do not think that BTC would be able to make obsolete fiat just simply because of its nature.

Remember that when the e-mail was invested, it was also the birth of the internet. People were lost and discovering the limitless potential of maximizing the use of internet until they have tried e-mail and realized that it was more efficient and faster to use it compared to the conventional mail via post office.

In bitcoin, I really do wonder on why people think that it will remove/replace fiat. Again, they can both co-exist with each other while exercising their nature. Bitcoin can be used together with fiat even if people think that their purpose is like oil plus water.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering - share your opinion on: August 13, 2023, 02:41:03 PM
I don't have anything against wagering and the tier system some casinos use as incentive.
Though, I must say that one needs to ignore the bonuses and benefits offered by the casino for those high tiers and leave the total wager to accumulate naturally, eventually the tier will come by its own.

For example, one can wager on Stake, rolling dices and reach the copper tier before one even noticed. Of course, it depends on ones money availability, but it is fairly easy, imo.

As long as one is being responsible with money, there is nothing wrong with enjoying tiers

This is actually the right mindset- if a person wagers purely in expectancy of achieving bonuses, then most likely the whole experience may be a drag and costly at the same time. But if you leave it as it is and continue to gamble, then you would definitely notice that your account would reach the next tier of rewards/bonuses in the whole process.

I think this kind of perspective is mainly for the people who really like to take advantage of the bonuses/rewards being offered at a casino. If this is what you want to focus, then there are better ways for you to earn and receive such bonuses in different categories without undergoing this hassle.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin best option to invest on: August 12, 2023, 09:51:29 PM
Theirs so many investment to invest but many people are seeing bitcoin as the highest place to invest their money but I'm not seeing bitcoin as highest investing plan ever, I don't know people have not invested in bitcoin is thinking of bitcoin as investment you can make millions dollars when you started, I'm preaching to change our people mindset of bitcoin investment so that they will not hope that bitcoin investment make somebody to be rich the way they think of it.

I think you are gravely mistaken- investing in BTC for either short/long-term can yield excellent results given that you know what you are doing.

Again. let me just reiterate- investment is an activity where you have extra resources to be allocated in this venture for long-term results. The reason on why people invest in the first place is for their extra money to grow instead of just sitting at their safe doing nothing.

As this may be the case, investment is "an another activity" in conjunction with your main source of income. Sure, there may be people who have multiple investment instruments running that can support their livelihood but you must not use this solely as your main source of income.

Is there a possibility to fix Neutral Trust?

I don't know if using ChatGPT or something like that can affect my account, for example getting Neutral Trust.

For everyone who is reading this post, this should serve as a reminder to the reason on why we have forum rules placed in the first place. Rules are posted, even if you do not actually read them, for them to be followed. It serves as a constructive notice to all that once you violate any of those stipulated provisions, you are to be punished accordingly.

Quote
kinship and brotherhood in this forum. From that I want to ask for the opinion and help of all my friends,
Please give me advice or a way to improve the Neutral Trust that I'm experiencing, Thank you all friends.

I do not think there is a way for you to remove them UNLESS you personally message the people who added them in the first place. Though in some cases, people remove them but in your case I doubt that you would be able to.

In fact, you just worsen your situation by acknowledging your mistake to others in which people would ultimately put more neutral trust to your account.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 12, 2023, 09:14:36 PM
Would like to know your takes on betting as a group to raise chances in local
Lotteries

I know that mathematically the chances are still really low even if you multiply it 100x but in Brazil at least we’ve seen some local lottery prizes given for small groups of 20 or 30 people betting betting with 5000x tickets let’s say

If dreaming alone is cool dreaming in groups can be even better

Hmm this is actually interesting- imagine if people were to purchase lottery tickets but the statistics show that the chances are still low. Well maybe if you can convince a group of people to spend such amount on betting lottery tickets, I guess there is that chance of winning but it may still be relatively low given the astronomically low chance of winning the lottery altogether.

I guess some may have tried this in the past and but they just considered that it is not worth it. Maybe statistically, they could have spent more than what they would have earned in the process if this were the case.
