1101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pastor Shuts Down His Church After Winning About $140,000 In Sports Betting.. on: March 24, 2023, 11:17:18 PM
The above affirms to the fact that many, are into what they do, not because they love it, or because its their calling, but because of the money they get to make from it, just imagine how many years this pastor have deceived his church members into believing he was genuinely called by God to serve as a pastor..

Imagine the donations that he received which ended up being betted in gambling establishments. This kind of example truly increases the stigma around gambling companies where people would definitely do anything for the sake of gambling. This is just too painful to read especially by the community.

Quote
Now my question is, As a business or as a career person who is also into gambling/betting, would you quit your current business or career if you won the same amount of money from gambling/betting?
Be sincere and state your reasons for your decision..

Personally, $140,000 is a relatively low amount of money for me to quit my job completely. This kind of money is not those typical jackpots where you could enjoy resting and travelling for the rest of your life. $140,000 may be relatively higher in Uganda but this cannot give me a retirement life where it would give me a comfortable life to live in the next 60-70 years.
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 24, 2023, 11:02:07 PM
What are your thoughts about this? Personally, I usually try to buy with stablecoins if I have some, it just feels more natural for me. I don't want to touch my BTC while the market is still bad.

As someone who currently lives in a third-world country, my answer would be a both YES and a NO.

YES- I regret using my BTCs since I somehow take away the opportunity of saving and HODLing for its price to mature in the future. I am very much aware about its price history index where its price used to be significantly low in the market, but it skyrocketed every once in a while. Every time I use BTC and convert it to my local currency, it pains me to see that I have been wasting an investment which I should have been saving for the future.

NO- with job opportunities being very competitive in my country, earning through signature campaigns is definitely a privilege that not anyone can do. Majority of my BTCs have been converted to cash in order to pay for my monthly bills, which supports me and my family. In this aspect, I do not regret using my BTC since I use it for a desired and meaningful purpose.
1103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you feel when....... on: March 24, 2023, 10:52:06 PM
How do you feel when ever a project or utility you don't like does very well in a bull market? I know that many people don't like meme coins when they were new in past years, how do you feel seeing your friends you call stupid for investing in shiba does very well than all your so called high-quality projects?

Well, I feel happy for my friends who invested in meme coins which suddenly exploded in the market. But I would somehow feel robbed because there must be a reason on why these meme coins exploded.

For example, the reason on why Shiba gained a significant value in the market was because of Elon's tweet about him using it other than BTC. Present holders were very lucky since its price skyrocketed which prompted some to become instant millionaires. Though meme coins have no use or anything whatsoever, it somehow feels that I have been robbed due to the influence of one person.

Though this may be the case, this is just a classic example that anything is possible with cryptocurrencies.
1104  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: March 23, 2023, 11:36:39 PM
In my country i observed so many people doing rally and blame the government why the basic needs price rise and the salary is still very low and not enough for daily expenses, is this the effect of the Ukraine and russia war that makes the gas or crude oil so high at price and they pass the gas expenses to the product and it ends to very high price of the basic needs that make us very poor, I see government has a move to resolve the problem but many people are still blaming the government.

I think that we can eliminate food scarcity in way that every family would have some food to eat and water to drink daily but completely erasing poverty seems impossible currently. Not only does this depend on the family or groups of persons who do the daily grind but this also depends on the government by providing job opportunities to reduce inflation.

Personally, the theory and idea behind communism works but this can easily be corrupted when a government controls too much power and fails to do its part to the society.
1105  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: new Scam ba to sa Facebook? on: March 23, 2023, 11:17:19 PM
recently napansin ko yung pag surge nitong sponsored ads na to sa facebook(image below) na nag hihire daw ng part time worker at need lang ng smartphone at internet para sa work na gagawin. suspicious sya since parang too good to be true ang 2200 per hour at yung mga accounts na gamit nila para sa ads ay dummy account lang.

Yung mga ganito na advertisements, they are too good to be true para mangyari. If it is possible to earn p2,200/hour, then everyone would be doing it, let alone mabrobroadcast ito on national TV.

It just pains me to see na despite these signs, madami pa din nafafall sa ganitong scam. Mostly, parang mga ponzi-scheme to na nirerequire kang mag invest a certain "xxx" amount with the promise of around 160% returns within a few months. I just hope na medyo ma-regulate yung mga ganitong advertisements kasi very misleading and deceptive ito.
1106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Virtual Betting/ Real bet on: March 23, 2023, 11:07:39 PM
vBetting is programmed betting, compared to real bet. Off course, how the house edge ended is always to make the casino profit. People are gonna to more playing in real bet rather than vBetting.

I know, cause I also sometimes playing like Virtual Blackjack from Evolution Game ~LOL and yeah, feel like rigged deck or system ~XD not make senses for the result.

As far as I know, virtual betting is a game where predetermined results are possible but what makes it random is the number generator to determine the winner. In a way, the AI already knows who the winner but a random number generator (RNG) makes it random in a way.

To maximize results, I would personally bet on real games where outcome is dependent on the choices that you make. Relying completely on an AI result is something that can potentially be risky on your part.
1107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 09:36:53 PM
But I started playing blackjack yesterday with $1k and noticed that the casino sites are somehow cheating us. I lost my $1k yesterday. through Blackjack. What do you think about casino site algorithms?  Are they cheating with us?

I think you are just unlucky with your draws. Again, this is gambling and any outcome is possible given the circumstances of what you are betting. If you have noticed this kind of pattern on your bets, then why continue to bet huge amounts in the first place? In addition, if you suspect that an online casino is allegedly "cheating", then post all the necessary proof to substantiate your claim.

Lastly, I also want to point out that any issues with a certain gambling website should be fixed by simply switching to another online casino. There are lots of online casinos available and some offer better bonuses/rewards as compared to the others.
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 23, 2023, 04:09:32 PM
With AI it will be more easier to eliminate frauds and set a stronger level of protection because AI is far more capable of doing the intense cross checking and and more complex security checks, it is a load of work for human to do cross checking themselves as the chance of missing a spot is possible due to tiredness or laziness. All these work load can be shifted to AI and leave the investigation cases to humans to fix.

What else do you think a gambling casino can benefit from using AI technology?

I do believe that the integration of AI technology can further strengthen the security features of a gambling website. But there are still some instances where a manual checking with a representative is to be preferred. Relying completely on AI can have its certain drawbacks in which a normal operation of a person handling the business is still superior.

Personally, I would vote that AI be integrated but not on all processes. The technology of AI is still yet to be perfected as of the moment and this can at least apply supplementary rather than mainly.
1109  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which one would you rather work for on: March 22, 2023, 11:24:30 PM
Both are cryptocurrency exchanges so I guess the work demands will be similar but the environment may differ, so if I am to choose between binance and uni swap I will choose Binance.

This is because binance happened to be the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange and at that, the payment will be higher and there is will more room for me to develop, so I may base my choice on the above mention reasons.

I do think that working in Binance would have a peaceful environment knowing that you are around with cryptocurrency enthusiasts. You can freely discuss your thoughts and share your knowledge and everyone would understand what you are talking about. It is like you are talking to a group of people who completely understands what you are dealing with- not just some random person who listens for the sake of being a good colleague.

Personally, I would definitely go for Binance if I had the opportunity. My knowledge in cryptocurrency would increase due to the number of people who are geniuses. I guess being surrounded by them would also make me one!
1110  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph- another "enhanced" KYC documents and process. on: March 22, 2023, 10:58:28 PM

Most likely baka nag bug yung sayo kasi kung may questions sila about sa KYC documents mo, ibababa nila yung verification level mo. For example, last year nasa verification level 2 ako. When they required me to submit KYC documents, ginawa nilang "Custom" yung verification limits ko where pwede ako mag cash-in/out ng p25,000 daily AND monthly.

1111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: March 22, 2023, 10:36:21 PM
. Many of my friends gamble.  And asks me about gambling sites.  But I never give them my referral link from the casino I use.  Because I am not very interested in getting referral commission.  Because I don't think I can get much out of it
that is so wrong mate , why deny yourself from gaining even if it is small money since your friends are directly asking you about the site to gamble?

you are also denying yourself from getting a chance to make your friend find a site that is safe to play since you refer it to them.

referral can be a sideline to earn and if this is  knocking on your door? then please get the opportunity because you are lucky in having asked by a friend and no need to lure them to use your referral.

Referral bonuses are privileges that can be exercised if your friends accept the invitation. They only apply as a part of a bonus in the event your friends join the gambling website, register an account, deposit some money, and wager a bet. They form part of one of the many bonuses provided and this is a device to incentives users in referring such gambling website to others.

In no way that you are compelled to exercise this privilege in any way. You can enjoy the gambling casino without referring anyone and everyone would still be happy. This is just an extra step if you wanted to receive that bonus.
1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 22, 2023, 10:18:00 PM
I think Slots is a game of chance and Poker is a game of skills. Do you agree?

I agree with what you mentioned, OP.

A game of chance involves a series of games where you would rely on absolute luck- no skill involved just pure luck. An example of a game that fits in this category is slots due to its nature where you pull a level and hope for the best; whereby a game of skill relies on a series of techniques in order to at least gain a small advantage depending on your decisions. An example of this are poker, blackjack, and other card games where it involves you deciding.

If there is another game that involves a game of skills, I would say is sports-betting. It is more of a game of skill due to the technicalities and considerations that a person would think before choosing a team on which to bet on.
1113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Placing bet on WWE on: March 21, 2023, 11:57:18 PM
There are many who love WWE knowing it is scripted. One of the biggest reasons it has a big fan following is that it contains all aspects of entertainment like drama, action, humor, and others. I still won't go and place a bet on WWE as it lacks one key element of gambling which is uncertainty. When you already know who will win a duel why bet on it?
I myself am one of many. But I didn't know before that there is drama here. Earlier I was very focused on this sport of wrestling. I still watch wrestling regularly. But never watching this game, no one will believe that there is a dramatic match like Abhinay. I was always realistic and didn't care what others said. But now I realize it is completely dramatic. But be it dramatic, there is a lot of fun here. But I have not bet on this wrestling side till date.

This can be very difficult given the unpredictability risk factor of wrestling as a scripted organization purely for entertainment. Would you bet on something that is unpredictable and is based on something that is not on skill? This can be potentially misleading and deceptive even if you try to bet on the top wrestler as anything could happen due to the outcome being 100% planned.

If you would bet on wrestling matches, then it is mostly a 50/50 chance of winning given the nature of the sport. I enjoy wrestling, sure, but betting on it would be totally disastrous on my part.
1114  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: March 21, 2023, 11:39:02 PM
I have always wanted to ask this question is it that there is no opportunity or they do not want to get rich
Mate please more to this I am confused here.

Being poor is not a choice- sometimes it is a mix of the failure of the system and the lack of any education on the part of the person. If there is one thing I realized while living in a third-world country, it is that being hardworking does not necessarily guarantee a bright future. Sometimes, the system forces a person to be poor despite being hardworking in his life.

Personally, I have witnessed several persons who are very hardworking but the opportunity for them to become rich is not there. The system fails the people in terms of providing better job opportunities and lifestyle in order to at least limit the burden of these people. For example, wages in a third-world country are relatively low and the costs of goods are very high, which prejudices these people greatly.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which of your friends and relatives deals with bitcoin? on: March 21, 2023, 11:23:05 PM
I learned everything myself because there was no one in the environment who could tell me something. But then I became the one who helped my friends and relatives sort out some issues related to crypto, and I’m even glad when they turn to me for help, because I remember how difficult it was for me.So if someone asks you for help or advice, always help and maybe the person who received the knowledge will pass it on.
I am just like you, I had to learn everything on my own as there was no one close to me that was interested on bitcoin at the time and I had to make a lot of mistakes to learn everything that I know now.

The difference is that I then tried to help others to adopt bitcoin and no one was interested, so I gave up long time ago, sometimes I get a question about bitcoin, but as you may guess they are only interested in the price and not on what makes bitcoin great, so I prefer to not reveal too much as I have the feeling that if they invest in bitcoin and they lose their money they will blame for their loss.
Oh, how I understand you!in the company of friends they ask me more often only about the price of what I suggest they look on the Internet if they are interested. And they ask some stupid questions about how many bitcoins I have and stuff like that)I can only help those who are really interested in something and are trying to figure it out themselves and can answer a question that they really do not understand.

Well if they are only asking questions, you can provide them simple answers. If they are truly curious about cryptocurrencies and they show interest in general, then that is the time that you explain them in detail based on your knowledge on this topic.

Before, I used to preach at least to my friends the power of this forum. Each day, I tell them that there is the opportunity of knowing the future of transactions- cryptocurrencies has the potential of becoming one of the largest asset in the future.

Unfortunately, only a handful amount of my friends returned the same interests that I have. As far as I know, only one (1) of my friends created an account and taken advantage of this knowledge but I consider it as a win on my part.
1116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what to do if I addicted to login into the forum. on: March 21, 2023, 11:08:13 PM
I am a newbie and this is my first ever forum account and i am addicted to it, i log in many many times a day, what can i do to stop addiction, "every addiction is bad"
is it happened to your sometime when you were newbie?

This depends on your definition of being addicted in the first place. Does your addiction in logging-in into this forum completely hinders you from doing anything else? Do you also gain anything on your stay in this forum? In addition, while in this forum, do you take your time browsing through various boards and you learn from the topics that are being created?

Those are some of the questions you should ask yourself first. If your stay here means that you are missing to complete your obligations, then it is about time that you have to limit your time browsing. But if you gain knowledge through the process, then this would be beneficial to you in the long-run.
1117  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: March 21, 2023, 10:48:33 PM

Can you easily convert your GCash balance to cryptocurrency sa application nila? If that is the case, I think mas magiging maganda and convenient ito sa coins given na sobrang daming issues ni coins.ph ngayon when it comes sa KYC.

1118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why people promote gambling sites . on: March 21, 2023, 04:00:40 PM
You must understand the fact that Gambling sites are people businesses, and building a Business the aims is to make profits, so casino operators just like every other business look for ways to generate income since there have a lot of expenses and operational costs to bear.

-So expecting gambling sites to keep losing is like chasing them out of the market because there will not have funds to run the business, so casino need to generate revenue so that the business can keep going.

I do agree with you. Again, an online gambling must advertise their website in order to compete with the thousands of online gambling casinos that are being created daily. They have to create their own identity in a way that will standout among its competitors. One way in order for that message to spread is by hiring people or content creators to promote a specific gambling website to their advantage because at the end of the day, it is still a business.

In conclusion, I see nothing wrong with people promoting a specific gambling website. The only wrong comes out when they tend to misrepresent and spread false information about it especially if the games that are being advertised are "fixed" by the advertisers and the gambling company itself.
1119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Strangest Bet You Have Ever Had? on: March 21, 2023, 02:25:57 PM
Gambling or betting is moving beyond just casinos and sports to other sectors of the economy. There is a thread here on betting for the 2024 United States election, and another one for the Oscars. I have seen people bet on movie characters and all sorts of things. This is not to say that they are addicted to gambling. I think we do it for fun, as a form of socializing. While thinking about it today, I wondered what the strangest bet I had ever had was. I remembered having a bet with my brother that he would give me $80 if I could eat 5 packs of 200g of instant noodles in less than 5 minutes, and if I couldn't, I would give him $90. What is the strangest bet you have ever had?

Back in college or about six (6) years ago, me and my friends hanged out a lot in campus. Most of the time, we would just walk around and do some crazy things just to kill some time. Then, this idea was created where any one of us would shout "sex" or "dick" inside campus elevators with random strangers inside. The person who shouts it must be repeated by us with even a louder voice- the loser would have to treat us something.

Going on, I betted my friend that he should shout "I'm gay" while inside class for around $10. To my disbelief, he actually did it and the prof just continued lecturing while the class laughed about it. I guess that is one bet that I would say is the strangest bet that I have ever made... and it was worth it!
1120  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph- another "enhanced" KYC documents and process. on: March 21, 2023, 12:04:07 AM

Yung pinaka reklamo ko lang talaga is that every year, they require another set of KYC documents, which is overall the same kung ano din yung sinend ko sa kanila last year.

UPDATE:
Nag reklamo ako sa customer support nila and sinabi ko na hindi na nila kailangan humingi pa ng further documents kasi same lang din naman yung ibibigay ko this year sa last year. From there, hindi na sila nag reply and they also did not persist on asking more documents. But upon trying p2p ng Binance, baka completely mag sswitch na lang ako to that platform.
