1021  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and Gambling on: April 21, 2023, 11:31:11 PM
Bitcoin is a currency while gambling is an activity, that's make both of them are completely different.

There's no relation because Bitcoin is Bitcoin and gambling is gambling, if you talking about what you can afford to lose and having knowledge, this include of anything of investment e.g. gold, real estate, stock, business, etc.

I don't see any fun and entertainment during or after invest in Bitcoin.

I agree with you- BTC and gambling are both two different worlds where they are entirely different from each other.

As the name suggests, gambling is an activity where you use a set of currencies depending on the mode of payment that is available. Generally, gambling can be very risky as there is no absolute result- you either win or lose big depending on the amount you wager.

On the other hand, BTC is considered as an alternative currency where many use it as an investment mechanism. While its price may be volatile, some use this as an opportunity to invest it either for short or long-term depending on their respective goals.
1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: April 21, 2023, 10:57:54 PM
...
What do you think about my advised to him?

Basically, any value is applicable when starting an investment in BTC. Due to its price volatility, its price may either skyrocket or drop depending on several factors both intrinsically and extrinsically. Though some investors prefer to HODL their BTCs in order to maximize the potential gain at the end.

If a person is starting with $30 worth of BTC investment, I do recommend investing it for short-term and cashing it out as soon as the price increases and he is able to recover his initial investment. From there, he can re-invest the amount and take advantage of its price for more gains in the future.
1023  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Gcash/Paymaya (Help & Concerns) on: April 21, 2023, 10:31:20 PM
Lately kasi ay may nakita ako sa FB reel na iminomungkahi nya na alisin yong laman ng pera natin sa Gcash kung meron man before April 26, 2023 dahil may chance daw na mawala to dahil sa mga glitches na mangyayari pagdating sa deadline ng registration of sim cards.

Though this may sound like a safety reminder to everyone or a must to do lalo na kung malaki-laki yong pera mo sa Gcash pero tanong ko pa rin lang dito kung ano thoughts nya sa babala nya.

As long as your SIM is registered, then you have nothing to fear. If ever na you fear for the amount of your funds inside your GCash account, then better take a screenshot as a way of security in the event na magkaroon ng bugs/glitches when the SIM registration date ends.

Honestly, I do doubt na mangyayare ito but expect some accounts to be disabled or yung privileges nila bababa if hindi naka register yung SIM mo. Pero as a way of security, screenshot mo na yung account mo with your funds para meron kang proof/evidence of your funds in the event na may mangyari dito.
1024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: April 21, 2023, 10:10:43 PM
There are two aspects to gambling, one is gambling on sports (sportsbetting), one is casino games (casino gambling). They are both gambling and which you decide to do depends on the one you are more comfortable with to gamble on and which you have more knowledge on. Sportsbetting is more difficult to manipulate than Casino games.

This is also the reason on why sportsbetting has some sort of odds against a dominating team.

For example, if a matchup between a strong team and a weaker team happened, obviously the odds of the former team winning is higher compared to the latter. In order to balance this out, some sports casino place odds in which you only get a percentage of your winnings in the event that the stronger team won. This has to be done in order to balance out teams competing with each other.

Though this may be the case, I do agree that sports betting is more difficult to manipulate since the game happens live. The only exception here is if the game is fixed but this rarely happens.
1025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you want bitcoin to stay? on: April 20, 2023, 11:55:45 PM
There is no single transaction system in this world that has a system as fast, as safe, and as anonymous as Bitcoin. If you are a Paypal or Neteller user and compare it to Bitcoin, you will definitely know why Bitcoin is needed for transactions, especially international transactions.

It really helps users who want to eliminate various problems related to conventional payment systems. And Bitcoin can also provide a decent profit if you can invest it wisely.

I agree with this- the transaction under the blockchain is what makes BTC anonymous. You can transfer resources from one wallet to another without having to pass several confirmations done by conventional third-party programs such as banks, etc.

Personally, investing in BTC is an advantage and opportunity at the same time. You can earn and maximize your profits within a relatively shorter period of time compared to other investment mechanisms/instruments available.
1026  Local / Pilipinas / Re: For how many years ngayon lang ulit nag balik sa bitcoin world on: April 20, 2023, 11:37:59 PM
Congratulations for getting back dito sa BTC world, kabayan!

Gaya nga ng sabi sa mga ibang threads, the best time para makapag invest dito sa BTC is kung kailan mo nalaman ito at kung kailan ka babalik para muling mag invest! Madami tayong natutunan back in 2017 nun price pa ng BTC noon was around ~p200,000.

1027  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 20, 2023, 11:21:13 PM
Have you also have that fears before? Is holding for too long OK?
There is nothing perfect than waiting for bear market to come. After it comes, hold for like 2 years or more and enjoy the bull market.

There are some people that make the mistake of buying at high price, followed by bear market. Some people would have sold in losses, but those that also hold for long later will become happy.

Holding for long is also healthy, it makes you healthy than the panic of checking the market price all the time.

I do think that HODLING requires the responsibility of the investor to determine whether he aims for short or long-term investment.

Given that the price of BTC is volatile, its price may either increase/decrease without any given notice. This calls for the person to decide whether to sell their BTCs for a short-term gain or a long-term gain/loss depending on the amount of his initial investment.

Personally, I would HODL 50% of my BTCs for long-term and sell the remaining 50% as a short-term investment and re-invest my profit in order to maximize my holdings for the future.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No late comer in bitcoin Investment. on: April 20, 2023, 11:05:05 PM
I definitely agree with your statement.

A lot of users have been asking and creating various threads with the question about the best time to invest in BTC. Like what I previously mentioned, the best time to invest is always the time when you discover about the existence of BTC. Unlike in any other investment, investing in BTC has the trend of its price skyrocketing in the market. With its inflationary nature, expect its price to increase with every fork happening.

This is also the reason on why there are no late comers in BTC investment, like you mentioned. What we are investing now may be different from someone who invests 5-10 years later but still, one thing remains consistent- the price increases as the years progress.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: April 20, 2023, 10:34:55 PM
It's been awhile I try daily to make profit

Stake casino mostly mines

But it take back profit.. I have 2k balance.. is there method

To get 100 $ per day

Yes, it is possible to get $100 per day and it is also possible to lose more than $100 depending on your strategy.

Remember if that if there exists a method where you can consistently earn $100 a day, then everyone would be doing it by now. Gambling in itself is a game of odds and chances- there is nothing absolute in this game since you rely on the risks of playing or losing money at the end.

If you truly want to earn money, then better work in order to consistently earn money in a regular basis. Again to reiterate, there can be no absolute result in gambling- you either win or loss respectively.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: April 19, 2023, 11:59:11 PM
Loosing in gambling is still part of the game. You must expect looses each time you want to gamble.
Certainly everyone looses in slot but you can minimize your looses through the above listed strategies.
Setting of budgets and not chasing looses is one major way of controlling your losses in slot gambling which falls under self discipline. Gamble for fun not for a living. And never gamble with any amount you cant afford to loose so that you wont be heart broken.

Well, if you enter an establishment where risk is a normal element, then expect all circumstances and actions to follow and happen. Same principle in gambling- if you attempt to gamble, then expect to either win/loss depending on your luck on the day.

Slots, if not, is one of the riskiest method of gambling due to its nature being completely dependent on luck. You either win or loss in which you have no power to alter or control the outcome as it is absolutely dependent on luck. If you want to at least minimize the risks of losing, then better play card games or sports betting since the latter have several factors that can affect your position and decision.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: April 19, 2023, 11:27:58 PM
Carlsen is the number 1 in the world, but Ding Liren and Ian Nepominachi are also very good players. If I'm not mistaken, those are the numbers 2 and 3 of the world ranking, so they can definitely decide in their favor in a confrontation with Carlsen. What is striking so far is that few draws have been played. Only 1 time and both managed to win 2x and then of course also lose 2x. Then the question is who can take it now. I think the game can go either way and we don't have a favorite for this game. But in chess, even a small mistake can mean a disastrous defeat. Also at this level of the World Cup.

Carlsen may be number 1 in the rankings, in other tournaments, etc., but since he cannot/does not want to fight for the title of world chess champion, he is, by definition, weaker than those who want and can.

Nepomniachtchi won again in the 7th game of the match and took the lead again. Phenomenal performance. Very strange behavior from Ding Liren who managed to get into a severe time trouble, although this is classical chess and this happens less often than in other game formats.

I do think that Giri mentioned that Ding has a problem with managing his time mostly in classical formats. With the immense pressure from the game, the time got to him which ultimately led to his defeat. Though I was very surprised to see a French opening being executed in a WCC.

I hope that game 8 brings another excitement battle from these two (2) players. Regardless of the victor, I do think that they both deserve the title of WCC and I do think that we may be able to see a conclusion of the battle if Nepo wins today's game.
1032  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PAG ACCESS NG COINS WALLET NG DI NAKA REHISTRO ANG SIM CARD. on: April 19, 2023, 11:10:57 PM

For me, i-register mo na yung simcard mo to avoid any future/potential conflicts talaga.

1033  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose out of greed. on: April 19, 2023, 10:45:20 PM
In fact, I would advise newbies to stay away from altcoins and only invest in Bitcoin in order to be on the safe side of the game, as there will be many shitcoins that will not recover after this bear market.
As a beginner, don't be overly eager to invest in any project without conducting your own thorough research.

Though I do agree with your statement, there are still some notable altcoins that are worth investing on. For example, ETH is a great altcoin where you can potentially earn large sums of money at the end but this would require either a short/long-term investment on your side. But if a person wants to maximize and capitalize on his investments, then investing in BTC may be the best move.

Personally, investing in BTC is the way to go. If you pair it up with one's personal research about the market and potential breakthroughs, the chances of a person profiting at the end is significantly high compared to the average person who invests without any resource or information at hand.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi is eventually ID by the government on: April 19, 2023, 10:14:30 PM
A friend of mine was of the opinion that the government cannot put an end to Bitcoin because it unfortunately cannot be traced to a particular person or organization which could be sued for bringing about the currency or Blockchain.
If this is true does it mean that the identification of Satoshi as a person or organization will pose a treat to the existence of Bitcoin or otherwise

Well if I were Satoshi, the threat to the BTC would be the least of my concern as everyone would know about my identity. This implies that my safety is now compromised as anyone could actually break into my location and I would definitely receive countless of death threats which could harm my situation.

Maybe this is also the reason on why Satoshi never disclosed himself to the public. Sure, there may be clues gathered by forum users here on how he wrote or composed his messages but we should probably just leave him alone and thank him for giving us this godsent of a technology that made some of us millionaires or even billionaires at some point.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: April 19, 2023, 09:44:31 PM
I am just curious to know why people favor one Sport over another, when it comes to betting? Is there specific Sport that increase your win chance or do you bet on those Sport for other reasons?

I know most people will favor certain Sport, because they know more about the players or the teams and information is power, when it comes to betting... but some Sport are 50/50 when it comes to the outcome of the match. (One lucky punch or kick can make a underdog a champion)

Please share your thoughts...  Tongue

There is a difference between betting in norma; card games vs sports betting.

In normal games in the casino, there are only a few ways where you can reduce the risk of you losing. The factors that contribute to your win/loss are only a handful that you can control in order to at least turn the tide of the battle.

In sports betting, there are several factors for you to consider in order to increase your chances of winning. For example, if you have actual data of a certain team on how they are performing, then the chances of you picking the right team may contribute your chances of winning at the end. So the argument that sports betting is still a 50-50 sport cannot apply here.

1037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest in BTC? on: April 16, 2023, 11:56:57 PM
Hi I have been toying with the idea of investing in BTC but have waited due to some investors saying the price will drop to 12 - 16k again. do you think it could still drop to this or are we more likely to move on up to 40k?

thanks in advance.

Everyone wishes that the price of BTC reaches +$40,000 but currently, we are all just speculating. Currently, the price of BTC moves in a direction where it increases short-term. As the price moves in this kind of trend, it is highly advisable that you invest for short-term in order to maximize this kind of price increase.

Generally, the best time to invest in BTC is the time when you have the additional resources for it. Treat it as something that cannot be recovered for the meantime but also as an asset that its price increases overtime in the market.
1038  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Thoughts sa Exchange P2P transaction on: April 16, 2023, 11:26:58 PM
This is why need natin maging lowkey always at attentive sa mga financial accounts natin.

1039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving only 1 year away on: April 16, 2023, 11:08:17 PM
A great reminder for people who are still actively trading Bitcoin rather than being an investor in Bitcoin itself. It's really very lucky for those of us who are still in the early stages of getting to know Bitcoin. I'm still curious about how it will be during the last halving, will the era be a completely decentralized era? or even people will start leaving Bitcoin especially miners because they no longer get their block reward.

When I first joined this forum last 2017, I remember the price of 1 BTC = ~$4,000 on the market. Every time a halving occurs, the price skyrockets and I was not able to capitalize on that opportunity to maximize my investments.

Given that the next halving is a year away, I do highly recommend to everyone to HODL their BTCs in order to take advantage of this situation. In addition, this will serve as a personal reminder for me to save my BTCs in order to prepare for my next big purchase. I just really hope that everything ends well for everyone at this time.
1040  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did you get familiar with threads? on: April 16, 2023, 10:52:37 PM
Most at times I get confuse and stuck when I see some post with strange or unfamiliar threads but at the same time I will see a lot of people arguing the threads and comments. I don't know how wide is crypto currency with exclusive terminologies like nodes, cores, NFt etc. At some point I wonder what I can do to mingle deeply in the discussion and contributions of this hard terms but one can not said something where you have no ideas. That's why I want to know how you get much familiar with all bitcoin technologies? What should I do?

Well for starters, people discuss and comment on topics that they are familiar with. Of course, not every post is something that is known or familiar to me as there are still some things for me to learn along the way.

Again, this forum is all about cryptocurrencies and expect posts related to the latter. Since you joined this forum, you at least have the responsibility to know and comment on threads that you think you know in order to avoid any spam on the forum which can contribute to trash replies, etc.

If you want to know about BTC technologies like you mentioned, the best way to do it is for you to actually experience it. I also suggest asking help from a friend that is familiar on the topic for him/her to explain it to you.
