881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful and don’t promote a scam campaign on: June 11, 2023, 07:36:24 PM
1xbit is a known scam company. Advertising or even applying in their thread will lead you to have a neg trusted account. What about companies that aren't labeled a scam yet? You left this out of your presentation. If a company is found to be a scam, the manager and the participants should cease all advertising for that company. This will save everyone from getting painted red for advertising that company.

The fact that people still apply and advertise a very well-known scam gambling website speak on how it is managed. All participants who are enrolled in 1xbit are either negatively tagged or blacklisted due to their decision on promoting an ongoing scam.

Unfortunately, I also observed that majority of the participants in the 1xbit campaign comment on threads that are very irrelevant- which has nothing to do with the thread posted by the OP. It is like, they are just posting for the sake of attempting to acquire traction. But they fail miserably since these participants also are either not paid or being trolled by 1xbit in the process.

At the end of the day, everything boils down to your decision on whether you want to promote a scam campaign or not. Sure, they may offer rates that are higher compared to other campaigns but be ready for the consequence when you commit to such decision.
882  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: June 11, 2023, 07:10:23 PM
Investing with borrowed money, especially in assets like Bitcoin, is actually more stupid than planned investing. While there have been cases where individuals have made substantial profits from investing in Bitcoin, it's really not that much, and I find it more fortunate than a well-intentioned scheme. Profit is not certain, so work, and once a case of loss occurs, I think life will turn into a very wonderful new chapter when debt is not paid.
not always what you plan will go accordingly. Some plans may fail leaving you in the middle of nowhere.
So better live within your means and don't borrow or dont take loan unnecessary - try to manage the funds you already have and invest when you have surplus and you can afford the loss too.

I am somehow guilty of this- there will be times where I mismanaged my expenses and at the end of the day, I would end up loaning money where I pay interest rates weekly.

While this kind of practice is considerably acceptable, when it becomes a habit, it can definitely take a toll on the expenses. The interest rates that you pay keep increasing and you would not notice on how much money is loss due to this. At the end of the day, you could pinpoint the exact reason on why this happened in the first place- which is mismanagement of expenses.

I do hope that I get to manage my resources and control my expenditures by avoiding ordering too much. This really has become a problem over the past years and I wish that I break this habit of exhausting my money and relying on loans every now and then.
883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The role of Bitcoin in eliminating unemployment in our country on: June 11, 2023, 06:44:50 PM
How much role does bitcoin play for the current young generation? I think most of us who are involved with Bitcoin today are the current young generation using Bitcoin. There are many people who are working on Bitcoin besides studying. By doing this, their time is being spent through work and they are also able to earn some money through Bitcoin.

Personally, this is where I am at currently. The privilege of working online at the convenience of my home makes this venue both a privilege and a blessing. I cannot stress enough on how signature campaigns helped me support through funding my college materials and expenses.

Quote
By doing this, they are able to support their own expenses and financially support their family. I think when this Bitcoin was not in circulation in my country many people are almost suffering from unemployment problem. The current people who have chosen bitcoin as a profession are not only able to help their families financially but also support our country economically through this young generation bitcoin. I think the government of our country should support Bitcoin. What is your opinion on this?

Not only did doing cryptocurrencies helped me but it also indirectly helped my family in alleviating the expenses. The fact that I can purchase my own materials for myself without the need of asking from my father makes this as the perfect avenue in terms of support.

Though I still doubt that it can absolutely eliminate unemployment, it can definitely at least mitigate the damages caused by it.
884  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 5 Advantages of Bitcoin Casinos vs. Traditional Casinos on: June 11, 2023, 06:10:10 PM
     -  If I were to shop now, I would still prefer to play gambling in a Bitcoin casino compared to a traditional casino, because it has many advantages over what we have been used to before.

And it's even safer when it comes to security, in fact, it's far, far away from the accident that can happen if you play gambling online, even if your identity as a player is hidden. Although in traditional, you can only appreciate your playing there more because you can touch and see live the games in traditional gambling.

With the recent innovations introduced to cryptocurrency casinos, it is obvious that choosing the former is the right and safer choice overall.

Traditional casinos are somehow outdated- their UIs are gimmicky and their bonuses are relatively low compared to cryptocurrency casinos. Not to mention, the security is far more superior given that majority of the gambling websites are now catered towards the crypto space.

While this may be the reality, we can all agree that online casinos have been on a steady trajectory ever since the pandemic happened. I do hope that traditional casinos introduce more innovations and breakthroughs in order to compete in this platform.
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 11, 2023, 03:15:30 PM
Wow I think it's  just to break your phone and shot yourself  away from internet and smart phones or electronics.
Just kidding 😂 .
But the truth is that an addicted gambler will never accept that they're addicted and it .amen it hard for them to get help and most times, the victim might pick offense if they're been reported to security personnels and might not feel happy about such even the local community  might not happy with you.
The moment you notice that someone is persistently  making bets and making huge losses, I think it is the responsibility  of everyone around the person to cautions the gambler and that's one of the ways to help call someone to other.

Like what I previously mentioned, stopping from any kind of addiction abruptly can be quite difficult- it is important to note that it takes years for a someone to get addicted; and it will also take months/years in order to address and cure it with several methods that require determination and patience.

For starters, it is important for a person to acknowledge that he/she is suffering from that addiction. Once they accept it, the second step is by reaching out to your family and peers for their support. There are many therapies available that cater to addiction but if you want to avoid vising therapies, then it is recommended that you look for different programs and activities that can be a substitute for your old habits.
886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Established members and newbies on: June 10, 2023, 07:42:18 PM
Although I haven't spent much time on this forum I observed that when most newbie make a valid and reasonable post they only get nice replies instead of established members assisting in ranking them up
The chances of ranking up from a newbie is very thin in most cases  even for those striving to add value to the forum.
I am not imposing anyone to help others rank up but I am saying rank should not be a sole factor to consider when someone deserves a merit

The merit system was implemented in order to combat account farmers and sellers. Before such was implemented, there were lots of users who would create dozens of alternate accounts (alt accounts) to farm for activity and spam the forum with meaningless and repetitive threads. After these accounts were at least high ranking, these users would sell it to others, though fortunately, some have reported these accounts.

I do think that the merit system deserves it implementation. We have to give it some 'merit' due to the fact that it addressed multiple issues at once (e.g. account farmers, bots, spams, etc.). Though it may be restrictive to some newbies, it forces them to create threads that are beneficial to everyone.
887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe are physical exchanges in your neighborhood. on: June 10, 2023, 07:20:58 PM
I have never used a physical exchange so I don't have useful feedback to contribute to the topic. But if you are worried about your security, try to exchange amounts where you don't have to show an ID or fill in paperwork that leave a trail that could be used against you. Shops like that usually have a threshold where no KYC is required. If you want to exchange more, you can always go in twice, use several different shops in town, or have a friend help you out and exchange a bit in your name.

Before, there used to be a physical ATM where you can convert your BTC/cryptocurrencies to our desired currency.

Though I have seen some people used it, I have never used or utilized such ATM. In addition, I also read in our local tabloid that majority of these ATMs consisted of errors that will not dispose of your cash but eat your BTCs in the process.

To answer your question OP, physical exchanges in my country are almost impossible to witness due to the existence of our local exchange. This local exchange converts our cryptocurrencies to our local currencies in which you can cash out to different pawnshops that offer money services.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cold or Hot Slot? on: June 10, 2023, 06:58:18 PM
This is actually the first time that I have encountered the term "RTP" where it shows in-game data of the percentage of the returns of a player in a given gambling slot game. Generally, this kind of implementation runs against the mandate of gambling companies as it shows the best possible game to win with higher returns. If what they advertise is indeed true, then there is no reason to choose any other slot games other than slots that have high percentage of RTP.

Though this may be the case, there is a reason on why gambling companies post this in the first place. They probably calculated the data and amount of winnings they can potentially receive in this given scenario. Obviously, they will not post any data that will give the players edge but I still have some doubts as to the actual percentage of it.

Personally, I would try it- perhaps maybe invest a couple of $50-$100 worth of cryptocurrencies just to test out the system.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 10, 2023, 06:37:53 PM
If the third-party proved that the casino is right but the player swore that he submit all the documents and is willing to do the extra mile to establish his identity, can we conclude that Casino's KYC procedure is different and we have the right to know how and what system they are using to decline our submission because we can be the next to suffer from this Casinos' KYC system?

Casinos can deny KYC documents for any reason or for no reason. If they want an excuse to not payout a big win, KYC the client and reject any documents they provide for whatever arbitrary reason. Introduce a third party (who picks the 3rd party? It won't be the player, it'll be the casino) and you have the same issue, except your trust is outsourced to the third party.

I decline to play on casinos that abuse KYC. Even if they're inclined to use a third party intermediary, that doesn't solve the problem.

This is also the reason on why I only submit my KYC documents to established casinos that are already well-known and reputable in the market.

The risk is just too high for you to submit your KYC documents in online gambling casinos that are newly created in the market. Sure, they may offer bonuses that are higher and better compared to your conventional gambling websites. But, the risk of compromising your identity and arbitrary changing their TOS to their advantage is just too high for me to risk my resources.

In conclusion, if you want to submit your KYC documents, it is highly advisable that you choose a casino that is already proven its identity and worth among the players. A good example of such casino are your casinos that are heavily advertised in this forum (e.g. Duelbits, Roobet, etc.) since they have the budget to allocate advertisements, which constitutes good faith on their part.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 10, 2023, 06:21:06 PM
I saw this online and thought maybe i should bring on to bitcointalk for discussion.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?

I do think that the feeling of 'remorse' only happens when you lost a current bet in your gambling activity.

Ask yourself this question: regardless of whether you won or lost, do you feel remorseful about your actions; or do you feel only remorse when you lost your money in the bet?

The answer to the above-mentioned statement would indicate on why you feel remorseful in the first place. I do think that it is obvious and it is human nature to feel regret after losing your bet especially if it involves a substantial amount of money. But if you also feel remorseful even if you win at the end, then that may be the sign that you should stop gambling in the first place.
891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 09, 2023, 11:54:34 PM
People who do not know about cryptocurrencies often associate it directly with gambling when it is entirely different from the latter.

Cryptocurrencies are like your traditional investment on the market, such as: stocks, gold, real estate, etc. They have a definite value in the market in which people are willing to pay for. Due to its high volatility, its price rapidly changes in the market in which some take it both as a boon and a bane at the same time.

Gambling, on the other hand, is a physical activity where you risk your chosen/desired currency in a game of chance/odds. While investing is a gamble in itself, it cannot be said that gambling equates investing.
892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin for HODL on: June 09, 2023, 06:40:51 PM
I join the welcome given to you by other colleagues. Regarding what you comment, if you say you start with little capital and you are going to try to buy more Bitcoin I suggest you read about the DCA strategy and about personal finance in general.

Then, apart from what has been said about DCA, in the future when you have accumulated enough capital, within one or two cycles you can consider whether to make partial sales at market peaks while HOLDing the rest, but you will learn this as you go along.

This is very informative- I actually just started investing again in BTC due to the potential fork that will happen this 2024. I read about the DCA strategy where a person would invest a small amount of money but it should be in a consistent basis. This is very informative as this will actually reward people who will invest the returns that they may potentially earn in cryptocurrencies.

OP, you should definitely check out this strategy. Even if you have a relatively small capital, that should not hinder you from investing more in the process. As long as you remain consistent in depositing/investing, you will definitely reap your rewards in the near future.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 09, 2023, 06:19:28 PM
I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?

I actually call this as the "cycle of gambling" where regardless of the result on your gambling, a person would most likely gamble again to check his luck for the day.

In order to combat this kind of cycle, there must be some sort of "stopper" where you decide not to gamble. For example, if you bring enough cash for today, then you are forced to stopped gambling after you exhausted all these resources. Of course, this may not be applicable to online gambling as your funds are always at your disposal, but practicing self-discipline can go a long way in this field.

I also have experienced this cycle when I used to gamble back in the days. I used to tell myself that I will stop, but I kept on hanging into this false hope where I may win if betted again. Of course, the result is always obvious- I lost way more than I profited.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 05:15:29 PM
I’ve turned $1,000 into $100,000
I’ve turned $6,000 into $80,000
I’ve turned $11,000 into $550,000
and recently I’ve turned $4,000 into $90,000

With nothing to show for it…I’m a sharp sports bettor, but I always end up going all in. I can never be satisfied until it’s too late. I always need to go all in.

I’ve been reading comments from my last post (turning $4,000 into $90,000 and losing the entire $90,000), and I can’t help but feel like shit.

How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.

Ask yourself this question- why do you gamble in the first place? Is it for glory; or for profit?

Once you identify the answer to that question, then that would generally provide a background for your answer. If what you claimed is indeed true, then turning such a relatively small amount of money to large winnings in sports-betting is by itself a feat that only a handful of people that have accomplished. The fact that you made it that far means that you have attained like 1% of the people.

If your answer is that you gamble for profit, then you should know when to stop. For example, you claimed that you have turned $1,000 into $100,000. Why not stop from there? Why not repeat the same cycle of betting consistent $1,000 instead of going all-ins? The risk is too great for you to incur that losses in the first place.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 09, 2023, 04:53:40 PM
Gambling is for fun for people that just make it fun and entertaining. But if you think you want to make money from gambling, that is when it would become something very difficult and it can lead to money loss. All I can say is that people should take gambling as something fun and nothing more. Just use small amount of money for it, an amount of money that you can afford to lose.

I do not think that I have the time to calculate all the profits and loss due to the fact that most of my gambling activities were done impulsively. Though this may be the case, I think that being aware of your profits vs losses ratio is a better way to control your habits in the event that you are addicted to gambling.

Like what most have mentioned, practice being a responsible person by managing your affairs and expenditures. View gambling as a source of entertainment; and not a money-making venture. If you view it as the latter, then expect that you would experience more losses than profits, as compared to the general gambler.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Vision Pro and its Implication in Online Gambling on: June 08, 2023, 05:17:04 PM
I do think that the fact that you can converge two (2) different realities at the same time is just groundbreaking and technological complex. However, if I have that kind of technology, I would probably use it on a different platform like streaming movies or work. The limited battery hinders me from doing other stuff without having to plug it while using.

Though this may be the case, this could actually be the start of a technological revolution and innovation. The fact that Apple had already started this movement means that there will be applications that will be created exclusively for the use of VRs and ARs.

Still, however, online gambling in different platforms is still the key in this day and age. Maybe the days of visiting a physical casino may soon be obsolete, but I do think that this is far from happening.

898  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to maintain profitability in crypto trading on: June 05, 2023, 03:56:22 PM
Your points are not what I expected. Stop losses, preserving your capital, going only a few percent of your portfolio in each trade, not shying away from taking loss — is what maintains profitability. Taking care of physical/mental health counts too, neglecting these two will cause you to have poor decision-making.
I would also pinpoint that those mentioned by OP are not exactly the ways to keep the profits. But knowing when to enter and close a trade will also a big help to maintain its profitability. And by separating your emotions when trading, that is also one way to avoid losses so that you can still focus on maintaining your trading profitability.

In addition to what you guys have mentioned, there is an article that I have read before where a trader earns profit only as much as what bank teller earns in a year. The problem with trading is the barrier of entry- it is very easy to enter but very difficult to master.

What separates a beginner trader from an experienced one is the time that the latter has invested. Not to mention, even experienced traders incur losses from time-to-time due to the nature of the act being very difficult to predict.

If you have the time, resources, and patience, the chances of you profiting at the given act would be significantly higher compared to someone who has just started trading.
899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Also Girls Should Be learned About Bitcoin on: June 05, 2023, 03:21:02 PM
Just like in any other aspect, gender should not be an issue with respect to the 21st century. Men and women are equal in all aspects and this should be the normal way of thinking when it comes to any kind of application.

Though this may be the case, everyone is entitled to know and discover the limitless and endless potential of cryptocurrencies. Be it men or women, everyone should take advantage of this opportunity while its price is somehow and relatively low in the market.

Hopefully in the coming years, the entry to cryptocurrencies would be lower in a way that its complexity and technicality would be a little bit easier for everyone to know and apply.
900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin bonus real or a scam? on: June 05, 2023, 02:27:05 PM
Bitcoin bonus is a website that claim to user can earn bitcoin for no cost. But user now have a question is bitcoin bonus real or a scam. These days people are caught in scams specially online scam so people are scared to believe online website. But bitcoin bonus is well updated website and designed and developed by professional people. The first bonus given to new comer is $5, which is a catch here, why would anyone give money just for signing up on website.

Let me reiterate- there is nothing free in this world. Everything has its own consequences and prices. The fact that you invest time into something means that what you get is not technically "free" in that sense. Now, if there is a website claiming to earn you BTC without cost, just think for a second- do you think it is entirely possible and plausible that they can sustain in giving out "free" BTCs?

My point is- those kinds of websites that claim to give free BTCs are nothing but scams and red flags that should be avoided at all cost. Once you visit their website, they may offer for you to register and input your personal information that is most likely going to compromise your safety in the future.
