241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: March 09, 2024, 05:02:03 PM
In every mistake or loss, there is that invaluable learnings from the experience you learned along the way. Fear is definitely one of those motivational factors that pushes the boundary of winning.

There is this quote that I would like to share- it does not have to be perfect but you need to be consistent. This can be applied in what you just said OP. Consistency in your decision makings on the form of your investment could be the key in unlocking the potentials of cryptocurrencies.

On a personal note, there is also that fear that I experience before. I tried investing into the wrong things (USI TECH PONZI) but I learned lots from that experience that made me a better investor now. As I also reported tons of fake ANNs and projects in the past, that fear of my past is what pushed me to further understand the growth behind all these lessons.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you ready to adopt the BTC program for your company? on: March 09, 2024, 04:25:32 PM
<..snip..>

I would like to know your opinion on the wave of BTC adoption by companies:
Do you think BTC programs will be useful for companies in their efforts to reach users?

I do think that there is a long-term advantage of implementing BTC programs to companies. In effect, it has a similar setup when you ask for a portion of your income to be rewarded as stocks in a given company; the difference is that the stock here would be BTC in the process which can be a long-term investment on your part.

Quote
Are you willing to receive rewards in BTC when using future services?

Yes definitely! As someone who has been active in this forum for seven (7) years, I have personally experienced the wonders of BTC and its long-term advantage via investment. By basing it purely on its price history, you could see its steady growth over the years. This solely would be my basis to consider investing into BTC as a huge opportunity for me and for others should they accept BTC as payment for services.

Quote
If you have your own company, are you willing to accept BTC or launch BTC programs?

If there exist such opportunity, I would definitely accept various BTC programs in order to give importance and notice to everyone.

There is just that massive opportunity whenever a person invests into BTC. With this kind of potential, everyone should be taking advantage of it by investing long-term or by trading it short-term to accumulate profit at the end.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does possessing information play an important role in betting ? on: March 09, 2024, 03:11:30 PM
Do you apply  this strategy while gambling?
-How do you benefit from it ?
What strategy? You have said nothing about any gambling strategy. I do not think you even know what you are talking about. There are many strategies that gamblers are using while gambling but what you said is just not giving any useful information about any gambling strategies.

I agree that OP mentioned nothing about this said strategy.

Though this may be the case and for purposes of discussion, let us discuss the effects of employing various strategies in the gambling sphere. There are multiple strategies that most gamblers employ whenever they gamble as each technique is different per game. For example, the strategies employed in poker are different on the strategies that are designated for blackjack or other card games.

These strategies help the player in order to at least have a slight advantage over the game. Effectively, this lowers the risk of the gambler losing and it gives them a relatively competitive edge against the house.

In conclusion, while there may be some general strategies per game, win is still not guaranteed in this process though should be still be used and exercised.
244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Restricted games on one casino but playable to other one on: March 09, 2024, 02:28:50 PM
If you can access the casino with the same provider albeit under a different platform, generally, you are not restricted totally from playing from their website.

Question, does that casino have an ANN thread in this forum? I heavily recommend that you contact any of their customer service to ask for any clarifications about this said problem. There has to be a reason on why you cannot access such platform despite the provider being the same.

All things considered, I also recommend that you read their ToS carefully to prevent any foreseeable problems in the future. Check all the regulations about VPN and its usage especially if they have specific rules on these.
245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 12:37:38 PM
Personally, the self-reflection comes naturally whenever you have incurred a loss on your part. After experience such loss, you go and contemplate the decision-making that lead to this type of situation. You think for yourself the series of wrong and impulsive decisions that could have been prevented at that time. Like what everyone experienced, we all thought the same phrase of I wish I could turn back time.

Again, this happens to everyone but let us be honest here: we feel this self-reflection only when we lost our money on the bet. Very rarely do we examine our gambling habits out of a positive result where we won money.

At the end of the day, the lesson that we can get here is that people should self-reflect and re-evaluate every time they gamble. Regardless of the result, there is always that invaluable learning experience that we get from these experiences that we should and must apply to our future acts.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does the game of luck in gambling really works? on: March 09, 2024, 09:51:31 AM
Nope- this is just some mental reasoning in order to justify and rationalize their experiences.

Remember that gambling is all about luck. No matter how prepared and ready you are, if the odds are against your favour, then you would most certainly lose on your games. The experience that happened to your friend is that he got lucky and he used the right method of channeling his luck by purchasing the money he just won. Most gamblers would try and bet again but your friend definitely did the right call.

There is also the presence of house edge in order to give gambling platforms/casinos the 1% edge so that statistics would favour them in the long run. At the end of the day, it is how you approach a winning/loss that will determine the streak of your fate either short or long-term.

I don't how this luck things works but it's true that one's grace (luck) could have effect on others live just the way ones negative energy can affect people close so it is with the positive energy.

There are people who believe in good karma- and that karma would result to them winning in their gambling games. At the end of the day, it is their superstitious beliefs that will drive them to gamble more depending on their personal experience outside the gambling sphere.

Most of my campaign signature earnings ay trinatransfer ko from Bitpay to coins.ph. Pero nag hahanap na ako ng alternative ngayon kasi si coins.ph napaka unpredictable like what happened before. Despite giving them all the required documents (even yung ITR ng nanay ko), minsan ginagawa nilang level 1 yung verification level ko (mas mababa ang withdrawal limits).

Ang maganda lang siguro kay GCrypto is yung convenience of converting it insantly to your GCash account.

Sa ngayon, may ma rerecommend ba kayo guys na wallet/exchange (preferably custodial) outside coins.ph or GCrypto?
248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 08, 2024, 11:37:56 PM
This is another reason why gambling can not be a job or anything like a source of income cause you can't know your games would play out and no predictions is ever accurate.

If you have such experience share it with us let's see the luck guys around.

Yes definitely- the nature and risks involved in gambling are too unpredictable and inconsistent which can be destructive if you view it as a way of earning extra income.

What you posted OP is somehow similar to another thread where this person randomly gambles without giving much thought and suddenly the unexpected happened as he won the current bet. What I mentioned on that thread is on how emotions and effort play a crucial part based on our expectations.

To further clarify, if you exerted time and effort into gambling, there is actually that reasonable expectation that you must win or else everything will be for naught. If you invested time and effort in making some decisions (e.g. sports betting, poker, etc.) then there is a higher chance of you winning as that expectation grows. But if you do not invest any effort (e.g. slots) then the expectation of you winning is lower.

This plays a crucial role based on how you would view winning as a whole. Naturally, if you exerted effort, there is that expectation that you would win but if you lost, you would feel devastated. But if you exerted no effort at all, then the expectation of you winning is much lower thus, you may feel that you were LUCKY if you won.
249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to earn merit? on: March 08, 2024, 05:34:09 PM
I'm new here. What's all about this merit count? How is it earned? I'm assuming it's linked to the quality/usefulness of your posts/replies? Their originality maybe? What are usually the subjects you'd get the more merit for posting about?

Merit is one of the factors that can increase your forum rank. You earn merits when people merit your reply or your thread and it depends on multiple factors on why people send it, such as:

  • Your post contains informative posts;
  • You created a general guide to everyone;
  • You were able to post some information that is very relevant to the current market and time;
  • You reported scams and posted them on the scam accusation board;
  • You created a thread were it showed very interesting features and up-to-date news;

Those are just some of the possible scenarios that can garner you a merit across this forum. Be reminded that merits are discretionary acts by which forum users have full discretion to distribute them for as long as it is not "merit trading" that can potentially ruin your account by having a negative tag.

While it is important to rank-up in this forum, this should not be your first priority. Your priorities should be learning about cryptocurrencies and thinking of ways on how you can contribute in this forum or to newbies who are just starting.

At the end of the day, it is not about the merits that are important but the journey on how you garnered them. By earning merits, that is the testament that you have learned something from cryptocurrencies that can ultimately affect you in the long-run.
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Wins: Your Money Was Returned to You. on: March 08, 2024, 05:11:50 PM
OP it actually depends how deep one has been in gambling and most gamblers doesn't keep records of their winnings and losses to know if actually the money they won is part of the ones they have lost in previous attempts to win but however, to me I feel that a consistent gambler who have been losing conspicuously may be recovering part of his losses although it depends on the amount that's being won because there is an amount that one would win that can actually supersede one's losses but inasmuch as most gamblers doesn't keep records of winnings and losses it would be very difficult to know whether your winnings are part of recovery of your losses.

The only thing I would believe is if casinos or gambling companies pay from people losses because there are some winnings that they normally pend so if they are paying from their pockets they would have done that immediately but instead some of them waits for people losses in the following weeks in other for them to pay winners with losers money.

I think what OP is describing fits perfectly on some of my previous replies regarding the cycle of gambling.

In this cycle, a person would gamble more regardless if he wins or losses due to the nature of the emotions that are felt. For example, a person would most likely try to gamble again if they won just to see if they continued the streak; and a person would most likely gamble again if they lost in hopes of recovering such losses.

At the end of the day, the mindset of the gambler is what makes the difference as a whole- if they view gambling as a means of profiting, then they would most likely view any win as a sign of profit even if their records or history show otherwise; but if a person views gambling as a source of entertainment, then they have the most control over their emotions and expenses.
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 08, 2024, 04:20:30 PM
It's been posted on all social media Tyson still attracts a lot of attention, this is an interesting and exciting fight Tyson is still at the peak of his health even though he is already 60 years old but age is always a factor when it comes to boxing, Tyson may be good in the first two rounds but old age will catch with him and the fresh legs of Jake Paul will take over.

I find it hilarious that Jake Paul has been going with all these exhibition fights like he intentionally avoids bona fide boxers to fight to. Though all things considered, I will not blame him as he attracts attention and this fight alone could mean millions of dollars to his pocket.

While this may be an exhibition match, seeing Tyson fight again on the ring is definitely a treat. My father grew up watching Tyson and to be able to watch him fight again on the ring is definitely a treat and an experience not to miss.

Something huge indeed but on the other side of the story, it is a bit weird that jake is taking on retired and older fighters who have title in them. Quite of a turn down for him 'coz he should be fighting fighters on his level. Although it is an exhibition match we cannot hide the idea that their 'names' are on the line with this one. If it is with age then for sure there is a mismatch, same thing with experience but we cannot call this an equal fight.  Jake is labeled as a fighter who takes advantage of his opponents but I doubt that regardless of his age, he would give this fight easily. Mike has an image to defend, which I think he won't go easy with Jake. If it is with who will be on advantage, then I'd still go with a biased point of view in favor with Mike. Experience itself is a big edge in a fight and that is something no one can steal from a fighter.

Yup I have noticed this pattern that he aims to battle mostly veterans and retired boxers. Perhaps this is the norm nowadays that these people do- exhibition matches as this garners attention, viewers, and money at the same time. No wonder there has been an influx of exhibition matches being offered.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 08, 2024, 01:33:59 PM
Especially on sports betting we see some racism happening and this happened in most of the league that are popular of which so many persons bet on. It bothers me to ask, that imagine you placed a bet and somehow you have 80% assurance that it would come out successful. And on the process of waiting for the game to end there was some racism manipulation in the game which made you lost the game. It could be football or other sports cause its mostly found in sports.

Next time would you choose to not bet on a particular game because you feel the members of the VAR, or the referee are racist, and you are sure that there would be some manipulation?

I find this interesting- I have yet to experience a game where manipulation of the games revolving racism is involved. Can you please share your specific experience on why it involved racism in the first place? This is a rare instance where I have yet to encounter this type of manipulation though I have noticed that there are also other people sharing the same concern.

I wouldn’t exactly say racism affects the outcome of games of most leagues. Perhaps it does affect the outcome of matches of smaller and somewhat unknown leagues. That’s why I place bets on known and familiar leagues like the EPL.
There’s too much at stake to openly be racist about your decisions and some people is kind of being coerced into behaving like a normal decent human would. You’ve just got to bet on leagues you’re familiar with. Unless of course, you decide to still place bets on those games you think the outcome could be affected by racism.

If this were the case, I guess the best recommendation here would be to choose leagues that are prominent and famous instead of betting on small platforms. Even if some of the offers may seem attractive, manipulation may happen given that there are less securities and guarantees there.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Simple mistake that makes you lose everything on: March 08, 2024, 10:17:14 AM
I’m sure many players here experience this kind of minor mistakes that resulted to terrible outcome. Share your story and let’s have fun hearing it. I hope there’s no BS story…

Back when I was a college student, I used to gamble Dota 2 and CSGO skins in dota2/csgolounge where I would win tons of skins after a single game. Then, there was this bot that was introduced on Steam where you would play blackjack against it. If you won, the bot will instantly trade you and reward you with "keys" where you could open crates which was the main currency for trading at that time.

Fast forward, I betted 1-2 keys per game and the games would result to me winning at least 5 keys per day. Then, everything went downhill when I started to experience my first loss. I started with 2 keys and ended up earning as much as 35 keys in the process. When I started losing, I was losing like 1-2 keys per trade until I got so tilted and bet everything in one go. At the end, I lost and I decided to never touch gambling again on games due to the pain of that feeling that day.

In conclusion, simple mistakes can definitely cascade and snowball into bigger problems especially if your emotions get the best of you. It is very easy to be level-headed once you are in that position but I guess that is the only way to prevent losing everything.
254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am i bad to this friend if i refuse to loan him some money in bad economy on: March 07, 2024, 04:27:32 PM
You are no obligation to give your money to anyone (except your family members) given that it is yours. If you have a friend who is in need of cash due to financial constraints, you are not compelled to help them as you must first think of yourself rather than others.

In law, this is what we call the principle of self-preservation where you focus first on yourself and the opportunities to receive instead of giving it out to others. Given that BTCs are on the bull run, it is normal for you to think given such current situation. You have the opportunity to maximize your investments and your friend must ask help to others instead.

In conclusion, I respectfully submit that you are under no obligation to help others if you cannot help yourself first. Focus on self-improvements and opportunities before you start helping others.
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you had this gambling experience? on: March 07, 2024, 02:30:54 PM
<..snip..>
Does anyone also has it this way at one time or the other with their predictions.

Well this is an interesting scenario that you experienced but it also plays on our emotions.

When you decide to bet on something and you poured some effort into it, the chances are that you have a reasonable expectation about the result. Given that sports betting is an information-based driven gambling platform in which knowledge about the games plays a vital role on its prediction, it is normal that you have that kind of expectation.

In contrast, if you randomly betted without even thinking about it, then there is no invested time and effort. Naturally, you would treat it as a hail marry bet and regardless of the result you would be satisfied whether you won or you lost.

At the end of the day, it is all about your invested time and effort that would dictate your feelings about the said bet.
256  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 07, 2024, 11:59:43 AM
It is best you gamble when necessary not because you want to chase your loss and win back you money, many are victim of this circumstances and for me is a bad practice and this might make you not to employe your gambling skills and roles because you inhast in your decision making. What is your opinion on this?

I call this the "cycle of gambling" where a gambler is stuck on this scenario of winning and losing.

Based on this cycle, a gambler would most likely gamble again regardless of whether he wins or losses. The initial reaction of a person whenever they lost in gambling is to recover the said losses by gambling again. Similarly, a gambler would most likely gamble again if he wins just to try out his luck if he could go and continue his winning streak.

I do agree that whenever a gambler chases their wins/losses, this would lead them to a position where they are stuck in this cycle. In order to really recover from this, it is essential that they change their perception about gambling and their goal. Rather than seeing this as a way for extra income, one must see this primarily as a way of entertainment.
257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com - unethical practices on limitting losing players on: March 06, 2024, 10:24:32 PM

Customer service didn't help, just told me to bet less and brushed me off. Is this how they treat someone who's been loyal and lost over $220k in 4 years? I think it's important you all know how they treat players here. If you start winning, they might just cut you off.

Take care.

This was the part that actually caught my attention. In gambling, I don't think there is anything like customer loyalty; a casino will never bend their policy to make sure that a gambler wins. It doesn't really matter how long you have been loyal and gambling in the casino, and it doesn't also matter how much you have lost for the years you have been gambling in the casino. Perhaps there are also other customers that may have lost even a higher amount and have used the casino for more years than you but yet receive the same treatment as you.

This is seriously alarming- what sells the casino is not the gambling games on itself but the customer service experience that they provide. If they treat their customers like nothing, then why is Stake still considered one of the best casinos out there?

In the past week, I have noticed several threads about Stake regarding encountering some issues either related to payment; or to limiting the accounts of its users. This should really spark a red flag on its users given on how they operate and on how they treat its customers.

Quote
Since you were already told by customer support to reduce your bet, I suggest you do so and still stake on your game, or you can make any further inquiries on the stake thread there https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2072589.0

I do suggest that OP should consider looking for an alternative at this point. Sure, he should try reaching out on its ANN thread in this forum but still, he should not have experience this service to the point that he will contact and message on its board in this forum.

There are hundreds of online gambling platforms that provide a better experience compared to Stake. If I may suggest, then I guess this is the time that you should explore different options now, OP.
258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indirect victims of gambling addiction on: March 06, 2024, 10:10:42 PM
Of course, there are many indirect victims of gambling addiction. Can you add more?

You actually summed up almost the effects of gambling to the collaterals that ultimately affect the immediate family members whenever a person is addicted to the said act. I guess another sector of people who are indirect victims of gambling are your co-workers.

Once a person gets addicted to gambling, your relationship with your colleagues and friends will be prejudiced greatly given that you will be asking for loans to anyone just to satisfy this urge.

The reason on why I said colleagues is because this was a personal experience to me before. I had this high school friend who was once rich during our youth and he would treat everyone with almost anything. Suddenly during my college years, he would message our friends asking for loans and cash. Then I soon discovered that he suffered this massive gambling debt by borrowing cash from Chinese loan lords that are already threatening against his own life.
259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is AI going to affect gambling in any way ? on: March 06, 2024, 12:46:52 PM
AI has impacted almost all online businesses to major extent. Do you feel that there will be major impact of AI technology on online gambling industry as well ?

I do believe that the impact of AI would be more as a supportive tool rather than as a main component that plays gambling for us.

The prominence Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been widely used in different fields as a tool to lessen the work of most people. Robotics and AIs have been also associated with each other in which they can work hand-in-hand to efficiently maximize its potential to some businesses. Although AI has been used mainly by some companies and businesses, I believe that it may not completely replace gambling and its users.

Gambling is a personal act whereby the odds are being played by the gamblers. Yes, AI may affect gamblers if the latter use the former as a tool to help them compile information that may effectively predict and weigh some outcomes. But relying on AI completely will not be as effective given the nature of gambling as a risky venture.
260  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Or Investing which one is better to focus on right now? on: March 02, 2024, 05:49:37 PM
I want to know what guys do. Are some of you trading the market regardless or some of you are like me, investing and observing the market

Why not both? No one is stopping you from doing both at the same time as you can reap the rewards by maximizing all the possible opportunities for you to earn BTC in the process.

If you want a relatively simpler way to earn some BTCs, then you may invest and HODL your BTCs by taking advantage of the upcoming bull run and fork that will happen in a few weeks from now.

If you have prior experience to trading cryptocurrencies, then you may also opt to trade other cryptos in the process. Be reminded, however, that trading is an extremely risky venture which requires a great deal of knowledge in order to at least have an advantage over others. There are many trades who have incurred losses than profits due to their lack of experience and knowledge after delving on the said act

Personally, as someone who has no experience to trading, I would definitely choose to invest and HODL my BTCs. In this way, at least, I would be able to take advantage of the time by selling my cryptos as soon as I see that I have profited from my initial investment.
