1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much these features weigh most when you choose your favorite casino? on: March 20, 2023, 11:48:36 PM
There are several factors in determining which gambling casino I focus on. Generally, my main priority would be its security, popularity, customer service, and overall bonuses.

For security, majority of the gambling websites nowadays require KYC upon registering on their platform. With this, they handle sensitive information that can immediately be dangerous upon breach of their security.

For popularity, this implies that the gambling platform is currently being used by many. Another implication is that its popularity has something to do with the offers, bonuses, and overall atmosphere that the platform provides; and

For customer service, having a gambling platform that you can easily communicate with a representative is crucial to its success. If you are able to communicate with their customer support with your problem, this means that they prioritize feedback from its players.
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 3 Reasons Why Cytpocurrency Gambling is more Addictive than Fiat Gambling! on: March 20, 2023, 11:31:22 PM
Just to add on the list that you provided, I think it also boils down to convenience and security.

Imagine, earning cryptocurrency is relatively easier due to the various methods available online. People transact and mine in order to gain cryptocurrencies and this gives them the currency in order to try and use in gambling. In terms of security, gambling using crypto is relatively safer due to the various methods and KYCs being introduced nowadays.

With the rise of online gambling and its popularity, I really think that cryptocurrency gambling would continue to rise its popularity, thereby introducing more changes and innovations in this platform.

1124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused. on: March 15, 2023, 11:46:03 PM
Thanks for fighting the good fight and setting the record straight, but this discussion has been up since time immemorial, that at this point all that one really needs to disprove this "bitcoin = ponzi" logic is to get their lazy asses of the couch and do a quick google search. Some people have been very enthusiastic about this debate back in 2018 when this is still a pressing topic but as what some people in this thread have mentioned, there are other more important topics at hand that should be given focus.
The problem for now is that even if we try hard to convince everyone that it's not ponzi I don't think it will be taken too seriously because there are several factors like there are still many people who are skeptical and there are still many naive people who fall for scams in bitcoin.
Even though it's not Bitcoin's fault, it still has a stigma like that. I think the most important thing in this case is to establish to yourself and those closest to you that it is wrong because you also cannot force other people's opinion that this is not ponzi either.

I agree with you. I think the problem with ponzi-schemes boils down with the responsibility of the person attempting it. Even if they are warned about its engagement, if they still want to try it, then they are free to do so. At the end of the day, the loss will be on their side in the event that the ponzi-scheme closes at any time of the day.

Personally, I have an experience with a ponzi-scheme where I thought the returns were to good to be true. I invested $80 worth of BTC in hopes of having a 120% return at the end of 3-6 months of investing on their website. After two (2) months of being operational, the company decided to quit, in which I lost all of my BTCs in the process.

If people are still willing to try these ridiculous rates, then they must also bear the consequences and embrace them at the same time.
1125  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How's your bitcoin lifestyle? on: March 15, 2023, 11:07:07 PM
By keeping as much of a low profile as I can. People knowing you're wealthy is mostly a disadvantage than an advantage. Sure, people respect you a lot more when they know you're well-off, but the disadvantages heavily outweighs the advantages. This is regardless if you're holding cryptocurrencies or not.

By keeping it simple and humble, you actually put yourself in a more secured and relatively safer environment, compared if you flaunt your riches on social media. With the rampant of crimes nowadays, you may be considered as a target for malicious and cyber hacking attempts in the event that they discover your riches in the cryptocurrency world.

Personally, I do not share any much information that I know. In addition, I also do not share to anyone that I do not trust the methods that I currently employ in earning BTC as this also has a stigma in our country.
1126  Economy / Gambling / Re: A way to attract new users or a misunderstanding? on: March 15, 2023, 10:45:13 PM
The first thing we should know is that, casinos also follow trends, and since the metaverse and web3 protocols become the order of the day, casino games now going on web3 virtual platforms to give players the best experience that will keep them away from other competitors.
So every casino will want to adopt the new trends to make their platform up to date and to meet players' expectations and desires.

I definitely agree with you. With the recent developments and software updates, online gambling casinos are adapting to this kind of change to provide their users the best experience on their design and UI for their clients.

I do think that there are lots of online casino platforms nowadays and it is somehow difficult to distinguish one from another. The only distinguishing factor that majority of the people use is the amount of bonuses each give; but they somehow fail to realize the platforms and technology to develop such.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Street Gambling Risk on: March 15, 2023, 10:22:13 PM
Is street gambling safe?
...

Does it prove that street gambling is not safe? Yes, it might but it all depends on the players. Will u play your bet with people you know are no good? No right? Maybe we can't really say until it happens but how about the chance that you can get yourself harmed, I'm not saying that don't play street games or don't bet on street gambling what I'm saying is please do choose who you play with wisely.

Not just that but street gambling is extremely unsafe for a lot of reasons:

First, there is no security measures in the first place. You are limited to only an amount that is safe to bet due to the lack of any security. If you attempt to bet huge, there is always that chance of the person fleeing;

Second, such practice is highly unregulated and the authorities may seize the properties without any question. They may also held you responsible for the violation of the law, which could be either a civil and/or a criminal case;

Lastly, it is generally unsafe for your protection. Assuming that you won, people around you can threaten you once you leave the establishment.

If you are planning on trying street gambling, then you must know all these risks before you delve into such practice. Again, this is very unsafe for your protection and you should avoid this at all cost.
1128  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph- another "enhanced" KYC documents and process. on: March 15, 2023, 10:07:37 PM
Upon reading the replies, talagang mag sswitch na ako to binance p2p given na approved na din naman verification ko doon. Though need ko lang mag hanap ng magandang reputation doon na trader in order to avoid scams in the first place.

Maybe this is a yearly practice from coinsph to know if you still have a capacity to buy a crypto, well you are not alone, grabe talaga ang KYC system ni coinsph, pero not sure tayo kung ganito ba talaga ang rules ni bsp.

It's just that nakakapagod mag explain talaga sa kanila. They always ask kung saan nanggagaling yung crypto ko and yung source ng income ko. Given na unemployed ako since post-graduate student ako, ang hirap mag explain kase they also ask for my financials (e.g. bank statements, GCash transaction history, etc.) kahit nabigay ko naman sa kanila to last year.

I guess this is the sign na lumipat and kalimutan na si coins.ph dahil napaka hassle talaga nito.

1130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fiat to crypto scam still existing always on: March 14, 2023, 11:38:05 PM
...
I've always wondered how scammers still use their old tricks even though it has been so long since they were exposed and busted, I found out that the problem is from the people that are victims themselves because they seem lazy or just don't have time to read scam-prevention topics to save themselves from getting fooled in the future.

The reason on why this old trick is still being used is because it still works. People still fall on thus kind of scam due to its simplicity and convenience. Like you mentioned, a random page can sugar-coat words and make it appear that they are genuine. With that kind of trick, at least 1-2 persons fall from it, thereby adding a list to the victims caused by these scams.

I do agree with you- with an active group of scam hunters, at least, this forum adds an extra layer of security with these transactions. When it doubt, always search it or ask on the forum if such exchange is genuine or not.
1131  Local / Pamilihan / Coins.ph- another "enhanced" KYC documents and process. on: March 14, 2023, 11:13:37 PM
Good day, mga kabayan!

Gusto ko lang mag-rant dahil nakareceive nanaman ako ng message kay coins.ph na need ko nanaman mag send ng panibagong KYC documents despite sending them last year. Now, they are asking for various funds (e.g. bank statements, etc.) even if nasagutan ko na last year lahat ng ito. I even provided yung statements ng parents ko just to prove them the veracity of my funds sa kanilang wallet.

Medyo nakakapagod kase paulit-ulit ko nang inexplain ito last year, tapos itatanong nila ulit and hihingi nanaman ng documents. Sa ganitong system, sobrang inclined na talaga ako mag hanap ng ibang exchange- meron ba kayong ma-susuggest na exchange na pwede rin mag-cash out ng BTC to cash/php?
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In 38 Days, Freebitco.in is going to give out $200,000 in BITCOIN!!! on: March 14, 2023, 10:50:25 PM
I don't understand you I don't know if this is cause for celebration or it is something that you are you that freebitco platform we give up for any contest, I tried to understand you but I find it very difficult to understand exactly what you are saying other believe my everything to be normalised if we try to understand your point of discussion

Not much here to understand really. All I did was make a piece of art to celebrate freebitco's success in the space Smiley.

I think there's a language barrier going on here, because I had a difficult time understanding what you are trying to say.

I personally think that giving away 200,000 dollars at the frequency they give it out is truly an astonishing feat. Nothing else to that.

Finally, I asked some questions to facilitate discussion, as I want to hear the opinions of other like-minded bitcoiners.
For old-timers or old members of this forum then it is really that impossible that they wouldn't know about Freebitco and yes out of those early years even up to now on which they are really giving out that service which

gamblers do really love and this is why even upto these years where loyal users do really still engage with this platform.Im not sure on what are the changes when it comes into their faucet considering that they've

been known for because of this faucet thing way back and then becomes bigger until it do expand out its business and offered others which they could possibly give out.
When it comes to bonuses and promotions then they are the ones who do able to have that Lambo jackpot prize on their lottery.

This is also one of the reasons on why this gambling platform has been ongoing for years now. Not to mention, they even have a designated campaign signature running for so long- that is why I really doubt that they would do anything that can destroy the years of building their reputation and loyalty.

This is also the reason on why they can afford to host giveaways such as this one. Like you mentioned, before they gave away a lambo and now, $200,000 in prize money as a bonus and privilege to their bettors. With this kind of management, they would definitely outlast even the big online gambling platforms currently.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A costly gambling mistake on: March 14, 2023, 10:29:40 PM
The most popular mistake that newbies make with online casinos is avoiding the rules and regulations, not all online casinos will put up a warning sign on their first page and say 👇

"New users are welcome, please read our rules and regulation before making your first deposits"

You have to look for the website FAQ and go through it first, I have seen some newbies that avoid doing this has they ended up shooting themselves in the foot.

Some even start spreading FUD on the forum about these gambling platforms that did them wrong, not knowing that they are the ones at fault, they are guilty because they don't read the rules and regulations.

Have you ever played an online game or registed into a website that asks you to check the box if you have read the T&C of their game/platform? Majority of us just fill or check it despite not reading all of it due to its long and somehow pointless use. But the true effect is that once you have committed a breach on their T&C, it is prima facie for them that you have read and understood their regulations that would warrant your prohibition.

At the end of the day, avoid doing actions that would warrant a breach on the T&C of a gambling website. Even if you did not read everything, just avoid the things that could generally block or ban you from their platform.

1135  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: March 10, 2023, 11:59:23 PM
Well, I have to clarify that personally I have never had any loan or debt in my life so this thread has nothing to do with my experience but intends to find out how people in loan/debt deal with the problem. Let's say you take loans from a bank and sometimes for whatever reason, you can not pay the debt on time, then you borrow money from other channels. Sure this works for a certain period but later bad things may happen, you have to postpone the payment and struggle with finances again. Isn't this a vicious circle ? How would you deal with the problem ? I am all ears.

I definitely agree that this is indeed, a vicious cycle.

In order to determine on why this is considered a cycle, you have to understand why the person is loaning in the first place. Assuming that he has a stable job that provides income, he/she might have prioritized in purchasing other resources than meeting their obligations with themselves or their family. To address this issue and to pay the billables, they would resort to loans and other various loan shark channels.

This becomes a cycle especially when a person cannot afford a credit card to pay for it. With this cycle, the problem of paying the loan continues until the person is able to pay it. From this example, it can be gleaned that the problem stems from the person managing his resources and money. With proper financial background and support, this cycle can be broken.
1136  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is kyc verification dangerous? on: March 10, 2023, 11:48:53 PM
It is somehow of a double-edged sword- KYC is a guarantee and a requirement to most gambling websites and exchanges for their compliance with the government standards. In addition, this gives them the security that what they are dealing with is actually a genuine person that can be located in the event that the latter commits any illegal means and activity.

The downside is, this gives you vulnerability on your personal and contact information which can put you at the risk of data and personal information breach. The catch here is before you submit any KYC documents, make sure that you are providing this data to a genuine, legit, and real exchange or gambling website to avoid any unnecessary conflicts and problems in the future.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about stop gambling services issued by gambling platforms? on: March 10, 2023, 11:32:43 PM
....
I think how if the Platform/gambling company has a stop gambling service that is very good and helps gamblers who want to stop.
I know this will backfire on the gambling platform, but in retrospect, if this is implemented, it is a so wise move.

What do you think about this?

I doubt that gambling companies would implement ways in order to minimize people from trying their services. At the end of the day, gambling is a business in which the owners are inclined to profit. If they truly want to create movements in order to minimize people from using their services, it is like limiting themselves from profiting.

The only way that I see this working is when the government orders or implements a law compelling these casinos to add a limitation on the betting. Though I highly doubt that this would happen since gambling also brings revenue to the government in return. So in a way, you are actually limiting the budget of the government, which is not a good idea.

There is a difficult line to draw in balancing the interests of the owner/government and the welfare of the people. I do think that changes must be made in order to address the problems with gambling addiction.
1138  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Crazy fishing games - May naglalaro ba nito dito? on: March 10, 2023, 11:12:49 PM
Pero parang it is too good to be true na pwede kang kumita ng ganyan sa isang gambling application sa phone.

Just a heads up, kahit sabihin nating may free option to play and earn sa game, take note na nagdodownload tayo ng android application package (apk) na pwedeng maging factor for privacy related issues.

1139  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: interesado ba kayo sumali sa 🥧 1st edition - Bitcointalk Pie Baking Contest 🥧? on: March 10, 2023, 10:54:58 PM
I mean, why not diba?

1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too harsh on user? on: March 10, 2023, 05:43:38 PM
If there is a suspect of multiple accounting from the same user the highest the casino will request from the player is KYC, and this is one of the major reasons why the casino has KYC policies on the ground.

-And any casino that confiscates your balance without due process must be a scam casino, and we have many of them so you are warned to avoid using such a platform.

I definitely agree with you- there is a boundary between a complete deprivation of funds without any notice; and a casino who has strict T&Cs who implements it with great stringent requirements. This gambling company is the former- they tend to completely confiscate the funds without any notice due to some minor problem that can easily be fixed on their end.

Since this is the case, better yet avoid this online casino completely. To be honest, I am more inclined to convince you to spill the name of this casino so that everyone in this forum would be alerted and notified to avoid this completely.
