821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin experience a more price increase during the halving? on: July 09, 2023, 11:19:41 PM
Given on the price history of BTC every halving, there is a fat chance that its price would increase on the market. This is also the reason on why majority of the people consider the halving as a blessing since investments would reap, thereby benefiting everyone who has BTC at their disposal.

By basing it purely on history, BTC halving made the price of BTC higher on the market. However, it is important to understand what the halving actually means. According to this website1, bitcoin halving means:

After the network mines 210,000 blocks—roughly every four years—the block reward given to Bitcoin miners for processing transactions is cut in half. This event is called halving because it cuts the rate at which new bitcoins are released into circulation in half.

This means that the rewards that miners would receive would be cut into half due to the limited amount of supply of BTC that are yet to be mined. With this, it is naturally normal for the price of BTC to increase given the said event.

822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game Winner Result Changed After 24 hours (Defaulted) on: July 09, 2023, 11:03:09 PM
this information is reported in the relative TOS of the individual gambling sites.
of course mostly, if not all gambling sites will have the most compliant terms with their interests...

when this happens in traditional sports (and traditional bookmakers) the funds are withdrawn from the accounts or basically frozen the account.

In case they suspect that a user has defrauded (and was therefore aware of the fraud) they can also proceed with legal action. with crypto bookmaker it's something different, but in case funds are not withdrawn they can just seize ...

I agree with your statement.

I think this kind of situation can be answered depending on the TOS of each respective gambling websites. If they stipulate that once a winner has been declared, regardless of any future protest against it, then it would not refund and declare the other team as a winner.

Though this kind of situation contemplates cheating, it is wholly dependent on the gambling platform's TOS that will dictate the answer to this question. But personally, if a team has been declared a winner but subsequently they were caught cheating, the winnings should be void and the gambling platform must refund the amount in favour of the new winning team.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discussion - Being an Active Poster in the Gambling Board on: July 09, 2023, 10:48:54 PM
I would like to ask:

  • Has being an active participant in the gambling section helped you develop more effective strategies for winning bets?
  • Has it aided you in overcoming gambling addiction (if you were addicted) or developing healthier gambling habits?
  • Have you noticed an overall improvement in your gambling experiences?

Let's delve into this topic because beyond simply increasing post counts, there must be genuine benefits to actively participating in these discussions.

Being an active participant in the gambling board made me more aware about the circumstance of this kind of action. It gave me at least an overview on the strategies that can be implemented in some games where I thought to be impossible.

I have been actively messaging around the gambling board sharing my personal insights and experience in order for others to see. I am unsure if I aided or helped anyone from these experiences, but the fact that I was able to at least inform some (through constructive notice) is enough for me.

Yes- being active in this thread made me more aware about the dangers of gambling. While the feeling of adrenaline of winning is euphoric, the feeling of dread after losing your earnings is far worse than I have ever imagined. With this and by reading countless experiences of others, this actually helped me in realizing that gambling is an activity that should not be engaged in a daily basis.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 08, 2023, 11:08:43 PM
......
Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

This is an interesting question as it questions the criteria on how one could be called a gambling addict.

Professional gambling players may not be addicted at all at their sport IF the main criteria here is their discipline. Unlike them, addicts are more on the spectrum where they exhaust their resources and suffer due to the consequence of their actions. For professional gamblers, however, they are being paid for their skill and they have tons of sponsors that may fuel their desire to gamble.

Though this may be the case, I do think that there are still some professional gamblers that are also considered as addicts. It is somehow difficult on drawing the line between them.
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Procrastination, Buy Bitcoin And Prepare For The Next Halving. on: July 08, 2023, 07:10:07 PM
Procrastination which is said to be the act of delaying something important despite knowing the consequences of doing so, is one of the reasons why many people miss out on big opportunities.
Procrastination can be because of your hesitation, uncertainty or it can be your lack of investment budget.

If you don't have investment budget, you only can work and in the meantime, have to procrastinate your investment.
Don't be hurry and borrow money to invest because you don't want to procrastinate.

If you have investment budget but hesitate to do it several months before a halving, you must look at history of bitcoin and its price after past halvings.

I definitely agree with your statement.

Even if the halving is slowly coming, this should not be a reason to disregard the basic rules of investment. If you do not have sufficient resources in order to purchase BTCs as of the moment, never take out a loan to proceed your investment. A risk in itself should not create further risks.

In order to maximize this event, it is recommended that a person should allocate and budget their resources for investments entirely. Like what OP mentioned, avoid procrastinating and investing at the last hour- this is something that should be well-prepared and saved.
826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which one of this is important most? on: July 08, 2023, 06:49:12 PM
I have been thing of this thread for a while now and I have checked a little if there's any but I haven't seen any of it , so a beginning to ask if the post is not quality enough to be posted on this forum or if my research wasn't well searched.
The illustration of this topic is kinda common these days on the forum and the new comers (brawn new and newbies) I don't know if other top ranked users make such mistakes, some of these users post things thinking they can be merited but forgotten about there reputation on the forum, some of these users don't know that their reputation is more important than there ranked on the forum, so it keeps me wondering about merits and reputation which one of this is more important in the forum?.

I do think that it boils down on how a thread can be considered as "quality" in the standard of this forum. While I do understand that lots of newbies want to rank-up, not everyone can which begs the question on how a thread can be considered as quality.

Well for starters, it must be engaging enough in order to attract audiences. In addition, the thread must be of substance where it offers any insight from others; provide useful information across different channels of cryptocurrency-related news; or even a discussion.

If there is one thing that I have noticed, it is that a well-decent reply may garner a merit. For example, by simply observing the basic rules of sentence construction and a proper understanding of grammar, you can actually achieve a merit.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What attracted you to gambling?Share your experience whether good/bad. on: July 08, 2023, 06:04:01 PM
Growing up, my grand father and father frequently visited cockpit arenas in order to compete with their chickens. It even got to a point where my grand father bought a relatively huge lot dedicated for farming and raising cockfighters in order to participate in national and televised fights. My father inherited such addiction and he also delve into such practice where he also brought me and my siblings with him. Due to this experience, this sparked my curiosity until now.

Maybe this experience is what drove me to gamble in the first place. With the influence from my parents, this somehow got me into this kind of activity- though I do only entertain such act with curiosity; nothing more and less.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: July 08, 2023, 05:26:08 PM

Only a mentally strong person who has control over emotions and have money management skills would be the real winner here and will become rich eventually.

Another factor that affect litter lottery winners is the fact that they don't have any plans, and it's very easy to spend money you didn't work hard to get inappropriately. Take for example a bettor wins a lottery ticket if he doesn't have any knowledge of investment or how to make good use of the money to improve his business instead he wants to keep buying ticket hoping to win more he'll only end up with nothing.

I also do think that the mindset and focus of a person is a big priority when it comes to winnings/losses.

When a person losses, the obvious and initial reaction that they feel is to recover them by gambling again. Unfortunately and most of the time, by attempting to recover these losses, they incur more in the process which thereby increases their losses significantly.

A proper mindset and having a designated priority is key in order to minimize losses and maximize profit. Once you profited in a given match, that should be the sign to just take it easy, re-evaluate, and cash-out your earnings to avoid any losses.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kyc for accounts or wallets on: July 07, 2023, 11:40:19 PM
According to my Bitcoin understanding Bitcoin is an asset that should be owned by an owner anonymously  now my point here is Bitcoin investors especially newbies should be very careful with wallets and crypto accounts that requires kyc for verification most newbies may be shocked or confused but the reasons are for your safety
kyc puts you personal information and privacy at risk it also gives ability for your transactions to be monitored.

I think you are mistaking wallets vs exchanges.

Based on my experience, online wallets do not ask for any KYC documents. They only serve as a "wallet" for you to store your BTCs and to transfer to another wallet or a designated exchange.

Exchanges, on the other hand, are websites or applications that lets you use your BTCs for different purpose. You can also transfer your BTCs to another wallets but the beauty behind some exchanges is its convenience. You can exchange your BTCs to your local currency or even transfer it to your banks or other modes of storage.

This is the reason on why majority of exchanges ask for KYC documents due to the features they offer, which are not offered on wallets.

Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term?
Even if sports betting is based on a real event, from which we can scrutinize data, raise statistics and minimize risks, there will always be a game in which everything will go wrong and go against predetermined standards.

I believe that the days of making money with sports betting are over, currently I play just for fun and eventually make a "crazy" bet relying on luck.

I agree with your statement.

In this day and age where the internet has access to multiple AIs that can make everything convenient, it is also a double-edged sword when it comes to betting. Sure, you may have all the raw data on a specific team which may provide better chances of winning but the odds are still too low for you to receive profit.

Odds are created in order to somehow balance two (2) opposing teams and the bettors. One team may be dominant with another but the odds represent the amount of profit you may receive when such team won. In this kind of structure, you are somehow forced to bet on the "weaker" team due to the overwhelmingly odds they give if they win.

The only thing that I see sports-betting profitable is if two (2) teams, which are somehow same in strength (thus balanced odds), are fought with each other.
831  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: July 07, 2023, 10:56:13 PM
I see them last logged in on July 3rd. Last post made on May 17th. It's obvious they are not posting very frequently since last March. Anyway, what update do we have now. Are they back in the track or still the site maintenance continues?

The maintenance still continue that is almost a week without any update in all social media channels. This is a very serious problem and probably within the management since there's not staff available to shed a light on current event. I'm not a regular player of Betnomi but having a long maintenance like this without any advisory is a red flag already.

They have a lot of events and giveaway here in the forum. It will be such a waste if they leave now on this state.

I find this very problematic that the website is not communicating any information at all. Sure, they may have all social media platforms available but no word has been spread or informed by any of those social media platforms.

Personally, even if it turns out that the website is back, I would somehow avoid this casino. You can actually see on how they handle their PR- no news and no anything whatsoever. Better avoid potential and risky conflicts such as this one instead of tolerating this kind of practice.

Though this may be the case, I am happy for you OP since you were able to receive your money. I do recommend that you search new gambling websites that are similar to betnomi to avoid this from happening again.

833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: July 06, 2023, 11:44:44 PM
Unrealistic expectations and a lack of satisfaction in life's pursuits can be fatal. How can someone win a lot of money playing gambling and have nothing to show for it? Isn't that a horrible, shameful story that shouldn't be shared with the public?

If all the figures (money) you won at the bet had been saved, they would have amounted to close to $800,000. What is needed to meet the $1 million goals? The greed of $200k didn't allow you

You made a very big mistake of not being able to save or use the principle of always placing small bets or quitting a bet when you are at a loss but your desire to win $1 million blinded you to knowing when to stop.

This boils down to the greed of the person on wanting to accumulate more profits but at the end he suffered the price and lost it all.

I think this story is a testament to everyone who wishes to gamble at their disposal. As soon as you have accumulated profit, that should be a warning sign for you to stop and re-evaluate the situation whether you want to proceed or not. Remember, gambling can only go two (2) directions: either you win or lose. Depending on the outcome, this can literally make or break your situation like what happened to OP.

Remember that perfect is the enemy of good- as soon as you win, take out all the profits and bet on small amounts to avoid incurring any big losses from there.
834  Economy / Gambling / Re: What other gambling sites offers free bitcoins like freebitco on: July 06, 2023, 11:09:06 PM
I would say freebitco.in is the best faucet site that still running today. In the past the reward there for every faucet was high compared to now, it wouldn't make a cent for a day unless you're really into it and waiting 24/7. It's likely a thing of the past but now I don't think there are people that still monitoring it unless they're using a bot.

I agree with your statement.

I mean, back in the early years of 2015, faucets were widely popular as sites in earning free BTCs in the process. You just wait and expect some BTCs to be received on your end, until it was integrated into some gambling websites. Nowadays, faucets are considered as a "waste of time" to majority of the people due to the nature of such. You spend hours and only receive a relatively small amount of BTC, which is just not worth it for the effort spent.

Anyway, freebitco.in is still the best website if you are looking for faucets. Any website other than that can either scam or waste your time in the process.
835  Economy / Gambling / Re: Challenge One Million Dice Bets with Profit every week. on: July 06, 2023, 10:39:52 PM
Profit every week is very difficult to get because it is gambling. Gambling is always associated with luck so we should understand that we cannot always think of winning. But it's okay if some people want to try their luck by continuing to gamble, but he should understand how far he can take this risk, especially when chasing profits every week.

Gaining profits is difficult especially to pursue profits. So we better not try to get it. And if @OP wants to find sponsors for his channel, he can try it. Who knows, it's better for him than playing gambling so he can earn income by becoming a streamer

In addition with your statement, the only thing that is "absolute" in gambling is with its inconsistencies- either you win or lose in a given game. There can never be any guaranteed profit in the pursuit of gambling, unless you are a professional who have sponsors that can support such act.

This is also the reason on why most view gambling as a form of entertainment; and the element of profit is secondary to their purpose. If you view gambling as something that can be exploited for profit, then expect results that can go otherwise.
836  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Belarus wants to ban bitcoin P2P transactions on: July 03, 2023, 04:22:43 PM
They can only ban P2P trade where Bitcoin is converted to the local currency or vice versa. Since local fiat is always under the control of the government, it would be easy to track such transactions. Instead of implementing a ban, they should introduce a policy or regulatory framework for these exchanges. A ban would increase illegal activities, which would not be beneficial for them. I have never witnessed a ban helping any government; it has always made their lives more complicated.

This is interesting- so it implies that Belarus has a local exchange where it can easily convert BTC to their local currency? If that is the case, it will definitely be a hassle to remove this kind of convenience, in which my local currency (Philippines) also offers.

If this is the case, there are still exchanges that offer p2p without having to show the transactions. Like most have mentioned, detecting p2p transactions are somehow impossible given the nature of BTC transactions.

Well even if this prohibition is implemented, I doubt that the citizens of Belarus would be affected too much- at most it is only the ease and convenience of conversion BTC - local currency is affected.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 04:06:15 PM

If I buy several lottery tickets and then leave my account dormant for a long time, say at least 6 months, and my ticket wins the jackpot during that time.
Will anything happen to my prize money? Will the casino refund my money because I never claimed any of the rewards?

It's just a thought I've had for a while and decided to ask here in the community.

In the Philippines, if you were to purchase a lottery ticket and you subsequently left it dormant without claiming the prize money, you have one (1) year to claim it counted from the date it was drawn. Failure to redeem such prize would constitute a forfeiture on your part and the prize money would be re-circulated or donated to charity, whichever is the case.1

For casinos, I think it depends upon the ToS and their rules/regulations about lotteries. They have their specific mandates and rules on how long the prize would be valid for redemption. As far as I know, the redemption period has a lifespan of at least <12 months in order to fully receive your prize.

838  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The relationship between educational qualification and quality of post. on: July 03, 2023, 03:52:21 PM
Do you think the level of academic qualifications and life experience that a member of forum has, has a direct influence on the quality of post that  he/she makes here on this forum?
Do you feel users who are known to be quality posters in various boards are individuals with high educational qualifications and vast experience.

I do believe that there is a correlation about being educationally gifted compared to others who lack the sufficient education to construct basic sentences.

Most of the time, most of the posts that are being merited are created by the ones who have a grasp of the basic construction of a sentence. You do not entirely need to be an expert about cryptocurrency; you just need to convey your thoughts in a simple manner where anyone could understand it.

While there may be some people who are knowledgeable about cryptocurrencies that only a few know (e.g. mining, etc.), still, you may earn merits even if you are not quite knowledgeable in this field.
839  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is it nomal for BLACKJACK.FUN to investigate for more than 6 months? on: July 03, 2023, 03:35:10 PM
Do you think it's normal for a sportsbook to investigate for more than 6 months?

Well, investigating for more than 6 months does seem like quite a long time. But I have seen such cases before. It probably depends on the type of investigation and who is conducting it. It may be a third party security provider so it is out of the casino's control. It does sound a bit on the longer side, though. A month or two should be the maximum in my opinion.

As far as I know, they used to have an active campaign signature (where I participated for more than four (4) weeks) in this forum and the pay was relatively higher compared to the standard signature campaigns that are active currently. It is really weird that they provided a timeframe of more than six (6) months, which is somehow unusual.

I just checked its website and saw that there are active people who currently bet. You can see that the chat box has active people who frequently message, though I am not sure on how active they are.

If I were in your case OP, I would definitely reach out to sujonali (previous campaign manager of this website) or respond to their message and asking for questions on why it is that long before they can accept your withdrawal.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 03, 2023, 01:55:05 PM
Boys. It is time to quit gamble. I created a topic about taking gambling as a major income or not and fought a lot of kind people who held an opposite point. I own them a truly apology. I am sorry. No matter who you are, gambling is only for fun. Never take it as income at anytime.
This is just it. Gambling should be for fun. Spending less than 5% of your weekly income or less on gambling is not bad. But some people are addicts to the extent gambling become a problem in their lives, which supposed not to be like that.

I agree with your statement.

Just like any kind of entertainment, it requires moderation for someone to actually enjoy the act. If you view it other than a form of entertainment, that is when your whole perspective changes. For example, if a gambler views gambling as a source of income, this will make it more of a liability than a stress reliever on your end.

WTF! Are you the owner of casino or working for them? No matter who you are, back off. Casinos always try the best to make people believe they are 'Entertainment' company. But they are not. They are scammers. Countless families and kids were destroied by them. Shame on all these man-eating devils. Next time, I will say Ladies and Gentlemen. Happy?

Gambling is a form of entertainment as it depends on the perspective of the person. Sure, it may have destructive effects on the livelihood of a person that it absolutely depends on the latter on how he/she can control his expenditures.

Just because it can potentially destroy your life does not ipso facto convert it as a scam.
