321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need your contribution and opinion on: January 20, 2024, 04:02:50 PM
I have a little knowledge but I need a guide. Bought some cryptocurrency like XRP and Bitcoin. Currently people only talk about Bitcoin but the price is very high for me to afford investing in it. I don't know why I feel like it's the only cryptocurrency worth investing and I would love to try  but am still learning gradually about it.

You can always purchase BTC in small quantities if you cannot afford huge amounts of quantities at the moment. For example, you can purchase 0.001 worth of BTCs which can cost around ~$40 at the current market price. From this, you can gradually increase the amounts of your investment overtime with just a relatively small amount of value in the market. No one is forcing you to purchase 1 BTC outright.

Investing in Bitcoin has changed over the years. Initially, buying a whole Bitcoin or even a thousand at a low cost was possible. Now, with the higher price, fractional buying and Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) are popular strategies. Believers anticipate Bitcoin's eventual surge, making any entry point valid. However, corrections do occur, providing opportunities to add to holdings and sell for profit during upward trends. It's essential to adapt strategies based on market conditions and believe in Bitcoin's long-term growth potential.

I do believe that once the fork happens this year, the price of BTC will again skyrocket like what happened last 2021 when it reached an ATH of ~$60k. I believe that we may go back to that price and that would be the price floor of BTC in the coming years until the next fork happens again.

This is the reason on why it is heavily recommended to everyone to purchase BTC and HODL it until after the fork happens.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Island in the Philippines. on: January 20, 2024, 03:39:10 PM
<..snip..>
So my question here is that, does the Bitcoin thing on this Island really has impacts to the country's economic growth in the long run? Do you really think that this kind of business model has potential in the future or just some kind of a trial and error? Is there any possibility for local remittances to worry about this innovation? Please share your thoughts.

I do think that it may definitely impact the economy once Boracay becomes the national BTC island of the Philippines.

Remember that any form of payment that we receive is an additional money in our economy. If BTC transactions were to occur in this island, hundreds of tourists will definitely be maximizing this kind of payment channel. Not to mention, Boracay in itself is a tourist spot- lots of tourists globally visit the island yearly in order to experience its amazing beaches and waters. If tourists were enabled to use BTC on their transactions, this can directly impact the economy as more money would be circulated and added in its finances.

I just hope that the government takes advantage of this set-up given that Boracay has all the tools to be the first BTC island in the country. It already is a popular tourist spot- might as well maximize its potential by adding cryptocurrencies as its payment channel.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst situation you're in that you regret that you learn about gambling on: January 20, 2024, 03:02:26 PM
<..snip..>
What's a similar case that you're in that made you regret that you learned gambling?

Your contribution is appreciated.

I personally saw on how it destroyed my father during his younger years.

My grandfather and father were notorious gamblers. They used to own a farm full of cockfighters and they raised/bred chickens. Inside our farm, they created this miniature ring wherein they can simulate fights between chickens without the blade equipped on the foot of the chickens. They participated tons of tournaments and they were even showcased in our national television.

When my grandfather passed away, we needed some funds so my father sold our farm in the province, though he kept a small portion of the farm in which it was to be designated for chickens for cockfighting. Unfortunately, my father prioritized gambling consistently to the point that he was struggling to put foods in our table daily. What made him turn and recover from this addiction was when my youngest brother was hospitalized due to an auto-immune disease that we badly need funds for.

Due to this incident, my father quitted gambling and he never touched that cockfighting once again. I just hope that people would not experience what I experienced growing up as a kid especially to have a father struggling to meet ends.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 20, 2024, 02:39:07 PM
We've all been there, that moment of realization when you remember selling your precious Bitcoins years ago and wonder if you missed the boat.  Well, take a deep breath, because im here to remind you that in the world of crypto, time is always on our side!

It might sting a bit to think about what could have been if you held onto those BTC, but let's not forget the golden rule of crypto: it's a marathon, not a sprint. The market is dynamic, and opportunities are ever-present.

Oh yes I definitely regret my decision of selling my BTCs back in 2017-2018.

Back in those years, 0.0075 BTC was only around $5-$10 at that time. I was earning that amount of BTCs weekly from different campaign signatures and I used those money in order to purchase study materials back in college. In hindsight, I should have definitely saved at least 50% of those BTCs as I was not expecting its price to reach our current price of ~$41,000.

Moral of the story: Always anticipate that the price of BTC may increase in the future. Given that there is another fork happening in a few months from now, it is definitely recommended to HODL your BTCs either for short or long-term investment.
325  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit stole my withdrawal… please help on: January 20, 2024, 02:10:42 PM
The perplexing part is that I was never informed about the ban when my ex closed the initial account. Had I known, I would have refrained from further deposits. Seeking advice on potential resolutions and exploring oversight from a gambling authority for crypto casinos seems prudent, given the circumstances. It appears unjust to be notified of the account ban only upon attempting to withdraw, especially after multiple deposits and losses.

Do you have any screenshots or evidence to in order to inform us about your current situation? Also, do you also happen to have a screenshot of your conversation with the CS of Rollbit about this issue?

I do recommend that since they have an ongoing ANN thread in our forum, you may comment and inform them about your current situation as they are very active/vocal in fixing your concern. I also do believe that Rollbit, as one of the most famous online gambling platform on the internet, will not risk their reputation over this issue.

Again, please post all of the necessary screenshots so that everyone can help you with your case. Lastly, if you truly believe that you did nothing wrong on your side, then be confident that your issue will be fixed as soon as possible.
326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: January 20, 2024, 01:57:03 PM
That is why it is very important to control ourselves in gambling for this would be the reason for undesirable experiences.

Control and discipline, that's the keywords of a successful gambling. Losing is inevitable, but without control we might experience the worst experience in gambling, and that is losing more than we can afford to lose. It's okay to lose, we know it will happen from time to time, but we should be discipline enough to follow the game plan, risk according to our limit only, if we lose, just call it a day.

This is indeed the secret to gambling in order to maximize its success.

I have read countless of comments and observed hundreds of threads talking about the discipline of pulling the trigger. Remember, once you profit, cash out and exit. Do NOT even think about risking and trying again your luck as the result can go two-ways- either you lose or you win. Now, assuming that you lose, the initial reaction here is to gamble again in order to recover your losses; and assuming that you win, you may be tempted again to gamble due to that winning streak.

Quote
Some of us are gambling even in the first place we can't afford, main reason is we aren't making enough money to live a comfortable life, so with that, gambling should not be part of our funds budgeting as that will only ruin our financials in life.

I also agree with your point.

If you see gambling as a way in order to profit, then you are viewing it on the wrong perspective. Always remember that gambling is something that a person should not completely rely on if they need to earn money. With the risks involved, you are most definitely going to lost than to win due to the presence of house edge which gives the gambling platform a slight advantage- and that advantage is leaning towards their side statistically speaking.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: January 20, 2024, 12:30:55 PM
To me that actions shows that the addict is still very responsible and knows what he is doing, but just that, he can't control his gambling urge, so at that, we don't need to generalized things, since we already know that every individual have they own difference's and ways of doing things.

Others are just putting too much negative to the term "addicted". Not all addicted are considered on the verge now of becoming crazy. I truly believe that there are lots of addicted gamblers that are responsible on other aspects of their life. They just do gambling maybe because of personal reasons and seems these addicted gamblers can afford to cover their gambling expenses without affecting their finance on their family.

If only all addicted gamblers are like that then we might see a healthy gambling environment but that's not possible to happened at everyone.

I do think that the word "addict" has a general misconception and stigma on its definition given on how it is used across this board.

To generalize, addict is someone who is just really likes to do a certain act. Most addicts have this connotation that they are unable to make rational decisions given that their addiction causes them to lose their sense of direction in their lives. But if a certain addict can balance their addiction and normal lives, then I do not see any problem with it.

Like what you have mentioned, an addict does not necessarily mean a negative thing for as long as they can balance things out. To be honest, I do consider myself as a computer addict (addiction to online games) but I seem to find the perfect balance between my studies and my addiction to playing games online.
328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mental rehabilitation clinic. on: January 19, 2024, 09:40:38 PM
Now imagine that this gambling expert is you. What arguments will you give? What will you tell the patient about?

This can be quite difficult without the use of any pharmacology.

Addiction is most likely caused by some mental disorder that disrupts the balance of satisfaction in the brain. Most likely, the dopamine and adrenaline that the gambler feels hungers him causing him to look for it consistently. I do mostly think that the use of pharmacology is essential and mandatory- at least for this aspect.

Quote
Please note that the patient will resist to the last. He will give counterarguments. For example, that he will get rich in the future, he’s just not lucky yet.
What other arguments do you think the patient will give? How do you respond to these arguments of his?

Given the task at hand, it is definitely recommended to explain the fundamentals and basics. It is also essential that the gambler must know statistics of gamblers who have profited vs who have lost that costed them their lives and their families.

With that as the foundation of my argument, the next step would be to recommend other activities that may stimulate the brain without the need to do any sort of gambling. I will recommend doing other extra-curricular activities (e.g. jogging, working out, etc.) in order to at least help them to be busy.
329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has this forum helped you gain experience in bitcoin, share your experience on: January 19, 2024, 09:05:25 PM
Oh yes definitely- this forum introduced me to this revolutionary technology that somehow changed my llfe completely.

Back in 2017 or in college, I was discussing some watches with my friend and I told him about owning some of the luxury brands in the future. I even told him that I wanted this Seiko that costed $100 on the market; he quickly mentioned to me, without any hesitation, that he was doing something on the internet which was learning about BTC. He showed me the symbol and I was definitely confused at first.

I visited this forum and slowly learned about its potentials and practical usage in a daily life setting. When I was able to join a campaign signature for the first time, receiving $5 worth of BTC felt super accomplished because that was the first time that I was able to earn some money on my own efforts.

Now, I am still active in this forum and I am still embarking on this endless journey of maximizing its potential. I truly believe that we have yet to fully use 100% of the potentials of BTC and its application in this modern world.
330  Economy / Gambling / Re: How Crypto casino market themselves? on: January 19, 2024, 03:30:33 PM
I am curious to know who are their targeted audience and at what age group. In general gambling people target countries like thailand more but probably this is not the case with crypto. Do they target nerds or total dumbs? How efficient they are between their marketing tactics?

This entirely depends on the platform.

Generally, physical casinos market themselves a hotel. They tend to create hotels inside a country with theatres and shows, then they add gambling establishments within that hotel which turns the latter in a casino-hotel system.

On the other hand, cryptocurrency casinos market themselves through the use of different advertisement platforms, such as:

  • Hiring content creators (e.g. YouTubers) to advertise and plug the gambling casino;
  • Using famous celebrities as ambassadors of their casino;
  • Advertising in this forum via campaign signatures;
  • Placing ads in different kinds of websites for traction; or
  • Offering bonuses and rewards during their initial phase of operations.

There are other advertisement platforms in which these online casinos may use in order to attract new audience and potential users. They also do not have a target audience but the general rule in gambling is that they can only accept users that are of legal age depending on the regulations of such country.

Lastly, these platforms have all the data they need for advertising needs. They probably know which kind of advertisement platform is most efficient in attracting new customers to their website.
331  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tataas Kaya Ang Awareness Ng MgaTao Sa Bitcoin Kung May Mga Billboard on: January 19, 2024, 02:46:11 PM

Actually tama to and agree ako sayo. Medyo napansin ko nga na hindi na kasing dami ang mga billboards ngayon kung icocompare mo siya 5-10 years ago lalo na sa EDSA. Before, kada kanto may makikita kang mga malalaking billboard tapos yung iba pa nga may animations pa along Guadalupe.
Sure, effective pa din ang advertisement through billboards pero as years passed by, internet ads talaga ang mas nagiging effective to receive more traffic from users.

I do think na maganda na idea na magkaroon na billboard dedicated to cryptocurrencies kasi mas makikita din ang awareness dito. The fact na may nag patayo ng billboard exclusively for BTC gives an implication to the audience about its genuineness.

Quote
imposibleng gagawin yan ng walang mapapala kabayan , malamang kung meron mang gagawa nyan eh yong may negosyong konektado sa bitcoin or similar to that.

I also agree to that post.

332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 19, 2024, 02:22:27 PM
That is how the idea of this topic appeared. I watch others gamble, I watch how the bet, I start to think about betting more than usually. Do you have such feeling also? Do you have a feeling that if others make large bets, that you also must bet large, otherwise you would feel like uncomfortable, or feel like a poor among rich, or something of that kind.

This is somehow dangerous to the spectators whenever you see a person betting big amounts and you see them winning also huge amounts of profit in the end. This gives the spectators this false sense of hope that they can soon do the exact same thing with their bets.

To answer your question, I also feel envious whenever I see people betting huge amounts and winning big. But at the end of the day, I always imagine myself that in order to be at their situation, I also have to spend big and risk large amounts of profit on my end. Remember that gambling is a 2-way result- it could either make or break your day in a single bet.

Yeah of course observation is always there specially to gamblers like us. But the truth here is thatif they got lucky with their bets it does not guarantee of us getting the same luck. If you placed bets just because you see them making profits with their game I don't think you will end up on the same path or else you're going the other way as we all know gambling is all about luck.

I definitely agree with you.

While we may only see the success of others, the foundation of their winnings/profit is built on tons of losses on their end. Who knows, maybe before they have profited huge amounts of cash, they also experienced a loss amounting to the same profit they just got.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The PCSO Lotto is shrouded in doubt due to the picture of the winner shown on: January 19, 2024, 12:58:49 PM
What's your thought about that picture, is it real or edicted?

How about in your area? How reputable are your state-sponsored casinos?

Source : https://twitter.com/inquirerdotnet/status/1747758509381574663/photo/1

Well according to the news in this ARTICLE1, that the picture was intentionally edited poorly in order to conceal the identity of the winner. Additionally, parts of the edited picture was taken from random images across the internet (google images) in order to really cast doubts as to his/her identity.

Personally, I find it amusing that people are even talking about this. If I were the winner, I would definitely prefer my face to be poorly edited (like the one happened currently) in order to fully conceal my identity. Be reminded that even the clothes you wear and the color of your skin may be identifiable by your friends/relatives if they were posted and unedited.

Lastly, this is all for personal safety and security. There have been rumors about the genuineness and legitimacy of PCSO announcing winners with strange patterns in the past. While this may be reserved for another discussion, I fully believe that the person that won here is true and real.

334  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 19, 2024, 12:04:53 PM
I voted "His immediate family".

Most of gambling addicts aren't aware if they're an addict, that's why there are many gambling addicts out there. Imagine if they aware if they're addicts, surely they will seek for help. Since the gambling addict itself didn't think it's a problem, he can live happily. While his family need to think how to make more money in order to buy monthly needs and pay off debt because he always ask for money to gamble.

I think there should be an option where both the immediate family and the gambler are affected the most in this situation.

While this may be true, I am also inclined into voting that the immediate family probably is mostly affected by the acts of the gambler. Like you mentioned, the gambler probably has no idea that he/she is addicted to the act. They tend to rationalize that what they are doing is completely normal and sane while disregarding the effects of their actions which ultimately affect their immediate family members.

Unfortunately, the family members of the gambler (if there are any) are the ones who are deeply affected by their acts. They suffer the consequences of not having to be prioritized when it comes to expenses; and they may also have issues regarding the budget which should be allocated to their respective needs.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be a hope restorer if we go about it wisely! on: January 18, 2024, 11:34:45 PM
So winning that money he quickly went ahead to get a new bus to continue his public transport business. From his voice he seems like one whose lost hope has been restored by that single win. Gambling can be a life saver too for it's not as bad as non-gamblers portrays it. To all gamblers' when you get lucky make good use of your gambling win do not chase for double portion.

More than gambling, it is about the decision-making of that person that lead him to live this kind of life. Gambling can give you a two-way result: either you win or you lose. It is that simple- either you win because you cashed out that money and stopped; or you lose because you initially won but you continued to gamble thereby losing everything in the proces.

At the end of the day, what really matters is how a person approaches gambling from the very start. His perspective and goal towards gambling should be taken into consideration as this would affect on how he/she decide in the future.

Lastly, a person must definitely allocate a specific portion of money in gambling to prevent any over-expenditure from happening. Once a person profits, then they must definitely get their initial bet and decide whether they want to continue with the money they have won or to call it a day and be a happy man!
336  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A piece of advise to everyone. on: January 18, 2024, 04:13:11 PM
Newbies/beginners and senior colleagues too do make this mistake of arguing with people in conversations that are not worth arguing about. Instead of responding to some quote where you were corrected you can just learn and remain silent than make some blind arguments that can lead to more wilder conversation that will either be out of point from the actual discussion.
Most times I see people creating enemies for themselves because they want to prove a point that they know some bull shit.

What I actually observed here is not that they try to argue but most newbies quote posts that contain lots of quotes already. In a perspective of a beginner, it seems to imply that the more they quote, the longer that their post history looks. But of course, newbies and other veterans cannot be fooled by this scheme.

Quote
Don't make a fool of yourself trying to prove a point for some nonsense reputation that nobody gives a fuck about.

I do agree with your point.

I think newbies also focus too much on arguing than actually discussing about the topic to the point that they deviate from the original material that is being talked about. They also seem to bring up unrelated and irrelevant topics just to seemingly "strengthen" their argument but everything is just fallacious and wrong.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 18, 2024, 02:47:46 PM
How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.

Ask yourself- why do you continue to gamble despite all the negativity surrounding it? What do you hope to achieve by gambling? Is this a financial problem that lets you hope of winning the jackpot; or is this an entertainment issue where gambling gives you that dopamine effect?

After asking yourself those questions, that is when you will start to re-evaluate your situation which can ultimately affect your decision making skills. Always remember, acknowledge that you suffer and then start from there. Start slow but with consistent pacing- replace slowly your gambling habits with different habits as this will create another discipline which is outside gambling.

OP, all hope is not lost- many people have stood on the very same platform you are facing and most of them had gotten out from this situation. Trust yourself and never lose that goal of recovering.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 18, 2024, 01:39:06 PM

it could be easier to make people register under your ref if there will be a benefit for them upon doing so. It must be different for each casino. some casinos prefer users with websites, not just anyone. i guess they offer bigger rewards and benefits to users who signup under them.

i have tried spreading my ref link for some time. made 3 signups one spent a thousand playing their games but the commission i got was 0.03%. who's going to be motivated by that?

Referral links are mostly beneficial to the one receiving it- thus the person who gains the advantage here is the YouTuber sharing their respective referral links.

Like what your personal experience has taught you, for every sign-up that used your referral code, you will gain a percentage of that commission. Of course, to us commoners, there will only be a handful of people who is going to use our referral codes (e.g. friends, colleagues, etc.). But for YouTubers that has a consistent player-base and dedicated audience, that 0.03% commission piles up and eventually increases overtime which is amounts to huge profits on their part.

At the end of the day, referral links are something that is dependent on your discretion if you want to help other gamblers as well. In fact, you also have your respective referral link that you may share to others when they register.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to manage gambling winnings on: January 18, 2024, 12:51:15 AM
If I only get a small win, I won't cash it in and will choose to keep playing. Because who knows when I choose to continue playing, I will be given luck and the opportunity to get a bigger win. And if I am given that luck, where I get a big enough win, which I never expected before, then I will immediately cash it in, and leave the gambling world for a while. And choose to enjoy the money and use some of it for something more useful and meaningful.

But that's just wishful thinking, because it's quite difficult to get the big win. Unless I was really lucky. And this is nothing but a delusion. Because when I want to increase my savings, I still have to live frugally and look for a side job. Gambling is an unreliable activity and in order to win big, I would have to bet a large amount. While I personally don't feel brave enough, if I have to bet a fairly large amount, which I can't afford to lose.
If you choose to continue gambling, you must understand that you have the choice to win or lose, and when you win, you can get more money. However, if you lose, you can lose all the money you have. So as long as you can accept whatever the result is, it's okay and you can continue gambling. To cash out, we need to see the minimum limit from each casino because the amount will be different, so we have to confirm it first. However, saving previous winnings is also worth doing, and there is no need to continue gambling because there is still a risk of losing later.

.
It's a two way results, because there is the tendency that if you don't cash out and continue gambling you might end up losing your whole profit and also if you don't cash out and continue you can still have luck and win a major but the risk involved is quite big but that's what makes you a gambler I guess. Many times where I been faced with the situation of cash out my little earning or continue gambling for the big profits but results have all ended sideways. So saving up those little cash-out is not a bad option too.

The house always wins- this is based on statistics alone that the more the person gambles, the more he risks his resources more due to the presence of house edge.

I like this comprehensive discussion about managing winnings- it also discusses the pros and cons of cashing out and cashing in at the same time while taking into account taxes, fees, etc. I feel like we should have more discussions with technical descriptions of each techniques for everyone's guide throughout their gambling journey.

I ask these questions because what I have seen is that many people, when they deposit money in the casino, lose everything, then they make more deposits again and lose everything, after having many losses they manage to get a big win that when you deduct the money they lost you would realize who made little profit, but these people hardly take that profit to the bank, because they know that they will have to pay high taxes while they will want to play or they can hold their wallet because people who use crypto casinos are using cryptocurrencies to play, so It makes more sense for those who win a lot to focus on taking the majority of their winnings and hodl their wallet and play with small amounts.

This is what I call the cycle of gambling- our initial reaction whenever we lose is to recover those losses by gambling again. This creates a perception on the gambler that the only way to recover their losses is by gambling again, thereby creating an endless cycle of deposit/losing or winning at the same time.

The only way in order to prevent this cycle is to re-evaluate the situation and to STOP. That's it! Stop and accept the fact that you lost your money from gabling.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 17, 2024, 03:40:31 PM
As a rule of thumb, always cash out amount of your initial bet. In that case, you will be able to recover the initial amount you betted and you are free to use your profits whether you cash it in or use it to gamble again.

Personally, I feel like the more the player gambles, the more risks that he/she delves into. The more bets you stake, the more chances that you can lose all of your winnings potentially. This is the case on thousands of gamblers that experienced this kind of greed.

At the end of the day, greed is what drives people to gamble more even if they already have more than enough. That expectation of winning more and that hunger of betting are just too dangerous as you really run the risk of losing everything all at once.
