501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 12, 2023, 11:12:48 PM
Whenever I am low on cash on the casino I play which includes a sport book I like to copy other people bets, usually parlays with odds over 1000 and I think to myself who cares if I play for example 50 bets copying other people with 200 IDR as my base bet,if any of these guys hits it big I will do to.Notice that I put 1000 as a minimum here but the reality is that I have been copying bets with over 700.000 as odds,I damn love these huge multipliers yet no one has got such one in sport betting.

Of course in here it is not about skill or luck games anymore but it is about destiny,so tell me how many of you are deceived by dreams that may change your destiny like I am  Grin?

Nope and this is potentially a dangerous precedent.

I remember during my younger years, I used to avoid gambling due to the fact that I know that I will lose in the process. But when I saw my brother winning countless of matches (he started with $10 and ended up bagging $100 in one day), I quickly got jealous and tried gambling for myself. Unfortunately, I was not able to win and lost all of my money on that day.

In conclusion, if you compare your luck with others, there is that potential that you may overextend your budget in the process. While others may be lucky, this does not equate that you will be lucky also.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 12, 2023, 10:49:53 PM
<..snip..>
Whatever your preference is, feel free to express why that is and also answer the poll (optionally). It's for research purposes only. Cheesy

I used to gamble using my BTC funds that I received from my campaign signature earnings but when I realized that the latter is too valuable for me to waste it, I quickly switched to FIAT and altcoins.

Whenever I have BTCs, I see them as an opportunity to invest due to its high store-of-value in the market. I personally find it a waste to gamble it away given that it has the potential of skyrocketing its price in the future. This is the reason on why I focus mainly in gambling away my extra cash whenever I have one.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 12, 2023, 01:54:06 PM
Gambling and trading are two (2) different worlds that have their respective components and techniques. While others may see them similarly, the only similar factor that they contain is the element of risk that is involved. Other than that, they are completely worlds apart from each other.

To further explain, gambling is a game of luck and odds. While there may be some techniques and tips that can increase the chances of the person winning, it is still dependent on the odds for you to win.

On the other hand, trading is an activity where you integrate both the extrinsic and intrinsic factors to guide a person decide whether to purchase a certain coin/share or not. It involves different and complex techniques that can relatively predict and forecast a given price of a certain coin/share.

To conclude, both have the element of risk that is involved. While others may call or consider it luck, I do doubt that there is a correlation that equates a good gambler on being a good trader.

507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? Selling all or not on: October 20, 2023, 11:49:24 PM
Have seen a lot of threads talking about the bull market, and everyone making comments.
I don't think selling all bitcoin in the bull market is a good idea. Why? Knowing the fact that the next bull price will still come as bitcoin continues to grow, so I don't think selling all my bitcoin in the bull market is the best.
Everyone is holdle bitcoin in the bear market and planning to sell in the bull market, now, when finally, the bull market  comes should I sell all my bitcoins and prepare to accumulate from afresh in the next bear market again? or should I keep some percentage to continue the accumulation?

I would recommend selling the amount of your initial investment and re-invest the amount that profited.

Like any other investment, what you need is the assurance that your initial investment is recovered as secured as possible. If you invested BTC and you noticed that your initial investment has increased by 50% or more, then it is safe for you to sell the amount of your initial investment and retain the amount of what you have profited for future investments.

In this method, you have a guarantee that what you have initially invested on is already paid off by your investments.
508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the government acquire all bitcoins either by seizure or purchase? on: October 20, 2023, 11:34:35 PM
This headline from the news is what has been making me think, Israel seizes cryptocurrency said to be used to finance Hezbollah and Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

The government has struggled hard to make sure that bitcoin does not develop and grow, they have made several policies and even created their own CBDC as a competition all to suffocate bitcoins growth. It is not impossible that they have not thought about seizing all the bitcoins so they can just hold it until we forget about bitcoins. So I am thinking, apart from physically confiscating hardware wallets and apprehending bitcoin holders to submit their seed phrase, is it possible that the government can seize bitcoins belonging to citizens even though it is a decentralized system?

I doubt that the government can acquire BTCs especially if the person has the private keys on their wallet.

The government definitely cannot access the whole blockchain and steal all the BTCs even if they have the best of the best computer person out there. It is just impossible on how the blockchain was created as the only person that can access their respective BTCs are the people who have the private keys to it.

One thing, however, that the government can do is to restrict the access on local centralized exchange by providing stringent requirements or even freeze the institution itself.
509  Economy / Gambling / Re: My best SPORTSBETTING advices! ⚽️ on: October 20, 2023, 11:16:10 PM
It's fun to make a big parlay for a few bucks to try and get lucky IMO. You bet $3 on 100+ odds, you can have a decent day. I'd also look to bet on single games to make a profit on the day hopefully, but the big thrill would be hitting that parlay.

That's actually the dream in any kind of gambling- betting low and winning big! The good thing about sportsbetting is that this kind of scenario is entirely possible if you are definitely certain with the team you are betting on.

Compared to other types of gambling, I do submit that sportsbetting has the highest chance of yielding a win. Though there are still factors that must be considered, you can definitely predict certain outcomes if you employ techniques and knowledge to arrive at a certain decision.

I have watches lots of people who have won on sportsbetting but this requires tremendous patience and knowledge on a certain team in order to take advantage thereof.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons you should not gamble on too many things at once. on: October 20, 2023, 10:56:33 PM
If you have the habit of playing and gambling on different sports and game, I think it is not good because of some few reasons like;
YOU WILL SPEND MORE MONEY ON GAMBLING.
YOU CAN BECOME MORE EASILY ADDICTED THAN A GAMBLER WHO PLAYS ONLY ONE GAME.
YOUR CHANCES OF LOOSING WILL INCREASE, BUT YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING MAY NOT INCREASE.
YOU WILL SPEND MORE TIME GAMBLING.
Which other reason?

I agree with your post.

The problem with gambling is that it can always be too much especially if a person chases for profits rather than experiencing the entertainment part of it. If a person views gambling as something that generates money, chances are that the former would most likely overspend on their gambling spree. But if you view gambling as a form of entertainment, regardless of the result, you would enjoy the activity as a whole.

I just hope that people would know their boundaries when gambling especially the expenses they incur when betting. Avoid the never-ending cycle of gambling and people would be surprised on how much they could have saved monthly from it.
511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much money can you make by investing in Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2023, 05:11:19 PM
Bitcoin is one of the most popular and in-demand coins in the cryptocurrency market. Many are investing on this Bitcoin and even many are investing. When Bitcoin was created, the price of this coin was very low and gradually as time passed, the demand and price of this coin increased. I wish that I invest bitcoins but unfortunately I don't have any bitcoins and don't know how to acquire it. Is investing in Bitcoin easy or complicated? Is it possible to achieve success by investing in Bitcoin? The main thing is how one can earn if he invests in Bitcoin and if he stays for a long time.

This depends on your investment as a whole.

When I first started my BTC journey way back in 2017, the price of 1 BTC was equivalent to around $4,000. At that point, I thought its price was going to stay at that range. A few months passed and it skyrocketed to $19,000 where it reached an ATH for that year. When that happened, I knew that this was something that everything should take advantage of.

To your answer your question, your profit is proportional to the investments that you made. But be reminded that even if you invest money in BTC, there is still no absolute guarantee that you would profit in the end- so invest on your own risk!
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 20, 2023, 04:34:21 PM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.

Always set your parameters. Having a designated and allocated fund for the day will definitely help in managing your expenses. In addition, never gamble using your credit card as this can potentially lead to a cycle where you would want to recover your losses.

In addition, I know it is easier said than done but control your urges. Even if you experience a losing streak, just know when to stop and call it a day. View gambling not as a money-making venture but as a form of entertainment. In that way, you may be able to prevent chasing for profits and you would do it for fun instead.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much do you Value your Privacy in Gambling? on: October 20, 2023, 03:25:46 PM
Well when it comes to gambling, I value my privacy as much as my security. That is why, I am somehow hesitant to share my personal information (or KYC) to gambling websites that are relatively new in the space. Even if the latter has better rewards than your traditional online casino, I still value my personal information higher.

This is the reason on why I mostly gamble on gambling websites that have a well-known reputation in the cryptocurrency world. This means that I am at least assured that my information is kept with secrecy and privacy- and that is my only guarantee in which I am hoping for.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 19, 2023, 11:31:13 PM
If you say that something cannot be avoided because it is considered innate and hereditary, this invalidates majority of the people who have a negative background in their lives who changed for the better. In addition, this also invalidates the efforts of the people who changed their lives as you are stating that a person cannot change because it is within their bloodline- like that is their future.

Even iff a person came from a family background of gamblers, the former still has the discretion and option whether to continue it or not. In addition, the efforts of the Australian government to abolish gambling ads is welcomed- any kind of support and help to reduce gambling activities from minors is a welcomed and appreciated.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 19, 2023, 11:16:15 PM
Some gambling questions I want to ask please answer.

How many percent of signature earnings you gamble away?

I mostly save my signature campaign earnings for future investments. Rarely do I use my signature campaign earnings for gambling but there was a time where I used $60 worth of BTCs from my earnings to try and gamble away from the very same platform where I advertise my signature in this forum.

Quote
Do you prefer Fiat or crypto at a display currency?

I prefer fiat as a display currency in order to have a rough estimate on how much my total remaining balance is. This also keeps me aware of my earnings/losses throughout the match.

Quote
What is your favorite game you play all the time?

I mostly do slots since I know to myself that I do not have the necessary skills to play certain card games such as poker, blackjack, etc.

Quote
What is your favorite casino platform?

There are dozens of gambling platforms that I consider as my favorite, such as duelbits, sherbet, fortune jack, etc. Basically, these are the gambling platforms who have a designated signature campaign in this forum.

Are you a responsible gambler?

I think I consider myself as a responsible gambler. I am very much aware of my actions and I also keep track of my current expenditures in order to not go beyond the allocated budget for myself.
516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: October 18, 2023, 11:55:23 PM
Actually this is nothing new for high roller or professional gambler, first the casino will limit the account, if he's keep winning and drain the casino's money, they will take the last step to ban the account.

Since Dana White was gamble in land based casino, it's more easier for the operator/staff to ban the high roller or professional gambler.

I'm not saying the casino is bad or unethical for doing that, but they must do everything to make their business not going to bankrupt, right?

I do think that the casino has the right to ban anyone for whatever purpose they may deemed so. But before they ban such person, they must also have a reason for doing such since if they exercise this power, they run the risk of ruining their reputation in seconds.

In the given story provided by OP, Dana White is known to be a high stakes player. Since he is the owner of UFC and he has boat loads of cash in his disposal, he can gamble away millions of dollars like he is just buying candy at a store. Of course, gambling contains the risks of two (2) parties- the player; and the owner of the casino.

While Dana White may have lost some money in the process, he still has won some money in which the casino deemed it necessary for him to be prohibited to enter their establishment.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 18, 2023, 11:35:23 PM
I have often wondered about the people who have lost a lot in gambling and who almost loose in every gambling activity they participate. What is their reason or motivation to continue even after so many losses?

It is not about the motivation but it is the feeling of recovering your losses.

Generally when a player loses in a gambling game, they have this feeling that they need to recover their losses by gambling again. Unfortunately, this is called the gambler's cycle where a player will gamble regardless of the result, either they win or lose, thereby creating an endless cycle. The only way for the player to break into this cycle is if when they decide to either quit completely or accept the fact that they will not be able to recover their losses.

It is also easier said than done for a person to quit after losing. Our initial response when we lose is to try and win again. But with the determination needed, a player can destroy this cycle and realize that such will never be recoverable.
518  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One of ways to identify scams on: October 17, 2023, 11:47:18 PM
I don't know anything about this website you are trying to make purchase in, neither do i know much about the pi network (other than many people are mining Pi, thinking it'd be the next Bitcoin Tongue), nevertheless you shouldn't enter your seed phrase in any website or in anywhere at all. Only enter your seed phrase if you are attempting to import your wallet, and even then you must be careful of the software you are importing it into, you ought to verify it and do it offline if possble.

I agree with your statement.

Majority of the scams can be avoided if a person does not share any of his/her personal information in sketchy websites. In addition, if you encounter a website that offers free giveaways that is too good to be true, then avoid it at all cost. Remember, prevention is better than cure- nothing is free in this world as everything has an equivalent.

If a person randomly adds you and messages you telling to invest on their business or to purchase any kind of investment scheme, be doubtful and ignore it. Again, scams can definitely be avoided if you remain skeptical about everything and their processes.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ? on: October 17, 2023, 11:25:30 PM
Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ?

It depends on the reason on why my future spouse tells me to quit and leave gambling behind.

Obviously, if my future spouse tells me to quit gambling, she must substantiate it with enough reason for her to justify it. Personally, I view gambling as a form of entertainment and not a money-making venture. With this perspective on mind, I know my limits and I always make sure not to go beyond the initial money that I have allocated for this venture.

Though this may be the case, I WILL personally quit gambling if I have family commitments that I must exercise. Instead of using the allocated expenses for gambling, I would definitely focus it more on to the family rather to this dangerous habit that can explode any time.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 17, 2023, 11:05:46 PM
Most of the grown up people do not live with parents. At such, the parents are not aware about the interests and habits of individuals. Do you parents know that you gamble ? What was their first reaction towards your gambling habit ?

When I used to gamble during my younger days, I kept it as a secret since my parents would hate me for it.

As a child, my father brought us to different cockfight stadiums where he used to bet frequently. Though he always told us to avoid and not copy his actions, you cannot help but to be curious on the things that he did before. When I reached the age of majority in our country, I tried online gambling involving in-game skins from games and I was able to at least convert my $5 to around $60 at that time.

Unfortunately, I learned the lesson the hard way and I got humbled. Quickly, all of my earnings went from $60 to $30 and eventually I hit rock-bottom. From there, I vowed to myself to never gamble and not to expose my kids into any kind of gambling activity.
