1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 26, 2023, 12:11:13 PM
But in AI there's no way for you to know the original source or people behind the predictions.

You're right. AI might give you the right stats, but it's not enough to make the right prediction. The purpose of AI is to give us information about the past, not the future or make predictions for us. Therefore, you are right, it's useless if we just base our bets on AI alone.

I would not call it useless since betting on AI relies on the previous data and information. Such would be the basis on why the AI would be able to predict the outcome of a certain gambling activity. For example, if you use AI in predicting outcomes in sports betting, the AI would be able to use various information/data that would at least help and support your decision to whether to bet on Team A or B.

The only problem is when you completely rely on AI to predict outcomes. A person must definitely use predictions of AI as a supplementary tool rather than the main tool in checking your bets.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: February 26, 2023, 11:14:00 AM
Amazing story. These are the stories that make people play even more because you cannot know when will you hit the jackpot and wake up a millionaire the next day.

Freebitco.in also have these bets for the events in the far future (like the elections) and I played them before. They work flawlessly. If you are into that kind of betting, you should try them.

This is actually true- the odds were so low to the point that it is a statistical anomaly for a person to win this amount of money in that kind of bet. But like what you have mentioned, stories like these are the reason on why most gamblers frequently test their luck. Betting $300 and winning x1391 of the initial bet is definitely what you call the "gambler's dream."

Personally, I have been struggling to get this kind of luck. There is this game where I gambled at least $300 worth of my savings to get this limited-edition ultra rare item but I failed to get it. It has been bothering me ever since and I have this feeling of attempting again and again just to check and to see if I would be able to get it.

Hopefully one of these days, I would also experience this kind of luck. Though this kind of winnings, like what OP shared, happens once in a moonlight, hopefully I get to experience it at least once in my lifetime.

1186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ego and too much confidence are dangerous in investing. on: February 20, 2023, 11:21:17 PM
2021 I started my journey here in crypto, I was lucky because I was able to invest in other cryptos before it went all the way up. NFTs, P2E games, airdrops and hyped shitcoins lol. Of course I earned a lot and since it's my first time I became very confident thinking I'm so smart lol Grin. I have more money to spare, so I end up investing left and right carelessly thinking i will earn more but the truth is majority of those i have invested are lost money because of bear market, scam projects and rugpulled shitcoins. I think I am not for crypto Sad.

Investing in cryptocurrency takes time. If you started last 2021, then you must have not fully comprehended or understood the processes of cryptocurrencies and its aspects. Just like a normal investment, it will take some time before you actually profit from it. Though the difference is that in cryptocurrency, you can either win/lose your investment depending on when you started.

Since you mentioned that you invested during its bear time, it will definitely take some time before you could maximize its potential. It has been months since the price of BTC has been stable around the $20,000 but you should take note of the incoming fork this 2024.
1187  Economy / Gambling / Re: My list of good crypto casinos on: February 20, 2023, 11:00:43 PM
op can list any site he wants and according to his research on his own website. But he will list just because op sees his list will think those sites are good. Because before depositing a lot of money in a casino site, one does their own research very well and then invests there and gambles regularly. So it's not a big issue which sites the op puts on his website and which sites he puts on the front page.  But to make his site good and trustworthy he must focus more on good casino
We can review the casino sites op listed but it is not recommended to use the casino without doing research, many casinos are not trustworthy will provide fair play and some problems in the withdrawal process, so we just focus on the list of top casinos in the forum because many members here are real gamblers, they will tell us if the casino has changed and the reputation of the casino can't be trusted anymore.
This is why I feel more comfortable gambling only on casino sites promoted on this forum as there are various reviews for each casino site and the sites are researched and rated by many users so I don't directly trust any other review site.  I use this forum as a good resource and I think it will not let us down if we trust this forum and use casino sites. So I'm not putting any focus on the op's site yet. and I have no problem with that site

I agree with your point. A casino that is being advertised in this forum gives you an impression and implication that it is "relatively" and "prima facie" safe and secured. If they can allocate the funds in order to have a campaign signature for their promotion, you can tell that they are indeed serious about longevity. Though this is not an absolute rule (e.g. 1xbit), at least there is that impression that the gambling website is safe and secured.

But in all honesty, gamble in a website that you like the general aesthetics. Since you will be staring at their platform for hours, might as well choose a casino that is pleasing to the eye.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to surprise a friend on: February 20, 2023, 10:37:59 PM
Is Bitcoin a perfect birthday present for a 25 years old college student? I want to surprise a friend, he is facing a lot of challenges due to his studies and he likes Bitcoin but can't afford investing money because of his studies since he is sponsoring himself, we've been together since 2011 and his birthday is on 27th of this month, do you think 0.03BTC is a cool present 🎁 for a birthday.

Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?

0.03 BTC is equivalent to around ~$740 in today's BTC price. Not only your friend would feel ecstatic, but this would definitely give him the inspiration and relief over the problems and conflicts he currently have. Heck, if I received that much BTC, I would definitely be overjoyed with your generosity and kindness!

This kind of donation and gift is something that I would like to receive one day, but I doubt that would happen. My family members are not that familiar with cryptocurrencies given its technicalities. Though that may be the case, I guess the greatest birthday gift that I could ask for is for the price of BTC to increase beyond my initial investments!
1189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: February 20, 2023, 10:14:16 PM
By the way, bonus buys are fine if you are hunting a big multiplier without thinking about your losses. But, normal spins are safer if you want your balance to last longer (from my experience).
What is the essence if hunting and possibly winning the big multipliers if at the end of all, the amount of money spent to get the big multiplier is more than the actual amount won?
I personally think that there are many gamblers who know quite well that gambling is a game of numbers, but yet, refuse to learn math  Grin.
Such gamblers will be happy when they win big amount of money, but absolutely forget that they spent much more before winning that amount.

Personally, the feeling of excitement whenever you win somehow offsets the overall realization that my losses are still bigger than my profit! But in all reality, this kind of practice should be frowned upon given on how it can be potentially deceiving on the person. I hope that there is like a "profit/losses counter" that someone can create in order for the person to be aware of his general situation on his activities.

Quote
Away from the above, Slot games are purely luck based game, I personally do not think that bonus buys will increase ones chance of making profit off slot games in the long run.

Slots is one of those games that I truly want to avoid. There is just no sense in playing slots due to the sheer luck that you have to experience in order to win. Sure, from time-to-time you may win small amounts of money, but I strongly believe that the system created it that way in order for you to continue playing slots.

I noticed this kind of behaviour from the grandmother of my girlfriend. She was playing slots and she initially betted $20 in the game with around $0.3 per spin. It got to a point where she almost lost all of her money but suddenly she won a "semi-jackpot" that jumped her bet from $20 to $50. Though that may be the case, she still lost all of her money since she continued betting.
1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 20, 2023, 04:44:19 PM
However, Donaire is now fighting a different opponent, so we'll most probably see the power that we're talking about in this fight.
That's guaranteed. The fact that Santiago does not have the KO power of Inoue means this fight might last longer if Donaire does not knock out Santiago. We all know that Donaire is still hungry for a win; he wants to be at the top again. And now that Inoue is not a hindrance anymore, he will certainly not waste this opportunity to come back at the top.
This will be an exciting match up for both boxer, as they try to get the belt being left by Inoue and with Donaire, this is a big opportunity to reclaim a championship title so better for him to start working on this and be more aggressive. Santiago is young with a good record as well so Donaire should not be complacent here if he wants to get another win for his record. I’m rooting for Donaire here, I wish him a good fight and will be ready to place a bet for Donaire.

When the realm of Pacquiao was over, Nonito Donaire was one of those boxers that somehow reminded me a fresh prime Pacquiao. Both fighters seem to have the speed and the power to dominate the ring with their current weight divisions. That is also the reason on why Donaire has been nicknamed as the "Flash" due to his speed and accurate punches plus abilities.

A fight between Donaire and Santiago is definitely a sight to behold and a privilege to watch. Though he has aged and his speed is not as quick as before, it will still be an explosive fight given on how hungry he is for winning a title. Santiago is not an easy opponent and this would definitely make Donaire more aggressive in his playstyle. Nevertheless, I am definitely excited to witness and watch this match as I am rooting for Donaire to win.
1191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not invest in crypto from loans. on: February 20, 2023, 03:04:07 PM
I heard that there were people who invested in crypto, and ended up buying crypto and their money from loans, but it's a shame they suffered losses because they invested in altcoins, but they lacked knowledge and lessons about crypto. but with this incident it made me think that investing in crypto should not result from loans because,,,
will make the mind uneasy, and always in the shadow of the deposit every month.

so in my opinion, don't invest from borrowed money because there will be potential losses, what do you think, do you agree with me?

The reason on why you should not get a loan in order to invest into something is due to its unpredictable nature. Imagine, you are risking a loan, which must be paid in a definite time, in something that is very unpredictable and risky in terms of profit. To be honest, you are definitely worsening your current financial position in the event that you attempt such act.

If you truly want to invest, then you can always start with small amounts. Regardless on whether it profited or not, at least you gain the experience on investing. Always start small before you focus on big things in order that you can fully grasp what you are investing on.
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give it a break. on: February 20, 2023, 10:34:33 AM
Give yourself a break.
......
At this point what do you think about this gambling strategy I use? Although yours may not be with 5-7 streaks in a week you can also set a number of streaks convenient with you to use. Or is there anyone out there already using this strategy and how beneficial has it being to you?

Giving yourself a break is almost the same as maintaining a discipline on your habit. The problem with gambling stems from its addicting and rewarding nature. For example, regardless of the result in a game, the person would almost always bet again (win/loss). This can definitely be deceiving especially if a person gambles frequently and he thinks that he won in a given game, but in reality, his total losses are overwhelmingly bigger than his winnings.

I agree- give yourself a break and give time to reflect on your actions. If you struggle with this kind of discipline, then take measures (e.g. bring only a handful amount of cash, etc.) to at least force yourself to stop.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: February 19, 2023, 11:52:27 PM
Came across this video in which a person questions whether they prefer to take 100$ or Bitcoin. The kids never took time, all of the sudden chosen 100$. I'm not specific about the location this had taken place, but it looks like they're are Western people. This makes me think, awareness is not upto the mark and in all means we need to educate people. Even the Western young generation unaware of it is really unbelievable.

I mean, they are kids and I doubt that they understand the opportunity and technicality of Bitcoin. I also do think that this may be the first time they have ever heard of BTC. Given on how technical owning a BTC is (e.g. having an exchange or creating a wallet, etc.), there is no doubt on why they chose $100 over BTC.

Maybe this may be one of those videos that they would look back once they reach the age of understanding or when they understood cryptocurrencies, they would have regretted their decision. But if I were a kid and someone offered me $100 vs a thing that I do not fully comprehend, I would definitely choose the former.

1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 19, 2023, 11:40:44 PM
It will be decided when they both figthing and already executing their fighting styles.

Correct and agree. The execution of their strategy will be the key to winning.

On who will land a perfect blow at a given exact time will have a chance to win this fight. Keith Thurman already have a set of strategy to begin with and the only thing to think is how to apply it on the fight.

Spence is really a considered dangerous boxer at this point and Thurman is facing a threat that might be more dangerous when he face Pacquiao.

Boxing is all about the strategy and skill you have to put in the ring. In addition to that, your punching strength/power must be so hard to the point that it will at least faze the enemy in the ring. In the case of Spence vs Thurman, I do believe that Thurman would get this in the bag but he would face so much difficulty given on how technical Spence is.

Though this may be the case, I would like to end this with a famous quote of Tyson:
Quote
Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face.
1195  Local / Pamilihan / Re: What is the best crypto exchange in the Philippines? on: February 19, 2023, 11:22:17 PM

I have been a user of coins.ph since 2017 and naalala ko na napaka lenient nila with the transactions. Ito yun mga panahon na pwede ka pang mag cashout using a security bank ATM and mag bibigay sila ng PIN for withdrawing. Pero nun sumabog yung price ng BTC around 2019, doon na sila naging sobrang stringent with the requirements especially with KYC.

In addition to the abovementioned statement, ang dami na ding naging stipulations ni coins.ph sa kanilang TOS. If nakakareceive ka ng proceeds from your campaign signature na isang gambling website, ibloblock nila account mo kahit hindi ka nag bebet doon. In terms of exchange, as much as I love coins.ph, Binance pa din ang the best exchange all around.
1196  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: February 19, 2023, 11:01:36 PM

To be honest, ito rin yung benefit siguro if post-paid user ka. Since yung information mo rin kasi nasa Globe na mismo dahil sa subscription mo sa current plan, parang you are giving na lang your consent after you messaged Globe. Unlike sa inyo, for prepaid users like me, we still have to complete and fill additional details. In addition to that, need din namin mag send ng Valid Government ID for further verification.

I guess ito talaga yung disadvantage na medyo hassle on our part. Yun din siguro yung reason on why nag bibigay ng free promos sila Smart and/or Globe, etc. after mo mag register ng sim kasi medyo hassle nga talaga yung process.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: February 19, 2023, 09:45:08 PM
Perhaps what is most preoccupying the chess world right now is the performance of Niemann, who was accused of cheating a few months ago. No sanctions have yet been imposed. Would you say you are innocent until proven guilty? You can't find any hard evidence, or at least not that he was caught in the act. He is now also foiled at every tournament or a hand held metal detector is used to scan him. Shouldn't you invite him to tournaments because he has a bad name? Carlsen has already indicated that he does not want to play against Niemann and he may therefore not participate in a tournament in which Niemann also plays.

It doesn't work that way in sports. It's the other way around: until you prove your innocence, you're guilty. That is why athletes who evade doping tests and the like are banned without question. As for Niemann, he is already a proven cheater, and the fact that FIDE still allows him to participate in their competitions (since he was not caught cheating specifically in FIDE competitions) only shows the impotence of this organization.

Ohh this is interesting but I do understand on why it is the other way around- athletes should put themselves at high regard due to the nature, skill, and fame they put out on the world. They must uphold themselves as truthful to everyone especially considering the scrutiny they face. If they are considered or alleged to be cheated, it is up to them to prove their innocence.

As with the contention against Niemann, it is still being reviewed and investigated. Given the history of Niemann repeatedly cheating on tournaments, I would not be surprised if he cheated on his recent games also.
1198  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: February 18, 2023, 11:57:16 PM
I saw the original post na nasa loob ng article complaining na ang taas ng bawas ng gcash sa pag convert ng peso to btc. Madaming speculations about dun like the spread , fees , etc. I don't know if totoo yung 5% fee nila pero if legit man yun ehhh napakalaki nun and marami naman tayong options to use kaya nakapag tataka na bago palang ang crypto feature nila is ganito na agad kalaki yung fee nila. I never see myself using this service even na active gcash user ako. I always prefer my own way of storing and buying btc.
Same thoughts. 5% fee for every swap is sobrang sakit talaga kahit na small volume lang yung iiswap mo is ramdam na ramdam mo yung spread what more if malakihan pa since madaming gusto mag invest sa crypto pero di marunong gumamit ng Binance or any other exchange may tendency na Gcash nalang ang gamitin nila and pagkaswap palang nila lugi na sila.

I am actually one of those people na sobrang nag lolook forward dito sa implementation ni GCash ng GCrypto. Gaya nga ng sabi nila, mas magiging accessible ito sa lahat ng tao given na halos lahat din ngayon gumagamit at may GCash application sa kanilang mobile phones. Not to mention, this will definitely garner more people in the crypto space which is a long-term advantage for all.

Pero for a 5% transaction fee, sobrang bigat nito especially if you are someone who transacts using high amounts of cryptocurrencies. I guess, medyo catered ito towards the newbies na bago lang sa space na to.

Though ito nga yung situation, it is nice na at least may alternative tayo na wallet. Hindi na lang si coins.ph ang main wallet na pwede nating gamitin for transactions, given na napaka stringent ng rules nila doon.
1199  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Isa kaba sa my mga bitcoin or any crypto noon? on: February 18, 2023, 11:24:22 PM
I remember pumasok ako dati around June 2017 after my closest friend sa college introduced me to this website. At first, akala ko isa itong parang scheme where hindi ka talaga makakakuha at makakaipon ng BTC pero nun pinakita niya sa akin yung coins.ph account niya and may laman siyang worth ~p32,000 of BTC, sobrang ginanahan na ako.

At that time, 1 BTC = p200,000 and medyo stable yung price niya doon sa range na yun.

Unfortunately and fortunately, nagamit ko na majority of my BTCs back then kasi kinailangan ko for my school/college materials. Pero looking back, if inipon ko sana lahat ng BTCs na naipon ko from campaign signatures, meron sana akong mahigit ~p1m worth of BTC ngayon.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: February 18, 2023, 03:33:43 PM
The same way of strategy as the lotto is that there's a higher chance of winning so if you have the time to risk with this kind of game because of the higher chance of a return for sure you'll grab the opportunity but of course not all the time it works with the different person still ideal if you manage the risk on yourself. For me Martingale is not ideal too and as a gambler it just double and increase the number and amount of losses.

Talking about the example you made with the lottery games, it's less risky but the chance of winning is very low, I've seen many people having multiple attempts upon years without being lucky to win, sometimes we need to think extensively and come up with a new approach and such idea may influence having a new or entirely different result from what we have been having in the past, we just need a change in strategies.

According to Google, the chances of a person winning the lottery is 1 out of 292.2 million. I mean, the payment on the ticket may be relatively cheap but the odds of you winning is abysmal. Though this may be the case, winning the lottery can absolutely turn your life around with regard to your finances, as long as you manage them completely.

The funny thing is, most of the previous lottery winners have turned their life for the worse. They did win the lottery but they quickly mismanaged their winnings/profit, got addicted to multiple vices, and incurred tons of debt. That is why, proper management of finances is absolutely needed in order to take advantage of such money.
