1801  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we going to see $1000 again? on: July 26, 2015, 03:11:53 AM
I have no doubt that BTC will reach $1000 within next two years. I just wonder when the price will always be higher than $1000.

That is going to be tough in the next 2 years. Even if we reach $1000, there will be bears waiting to push it down.  Smiley
1802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: so, whos buying? on: July 26, 2015, 03:10:40 AM
The chain.com blog at http://blog.chain.com/ gives this link to their explanation of how they intend to use the blockchain

https://medium.com/investing-2-0/wall-street-meet-block-chain-b2747909eb90

They say they will use the Bitcoin blockchain to move assets but that they will only pay pennies worth of Bitcoin for each transaction.

Quote
Bitcoin is the oil in the machine. When creating or transferring a digital asset, you use a standard bitcoin transaction as the mechanism, which requires bitcoins to pay the fee that keeps the network secure. But very little bitcoin is needed for any given asset transaction. Even if the issuance or transfer involves billions of dollars of value, only pennies worth of bitcoin are used. It’s like a postage stamp on an envelope full of assets.

If all exchanges move to leveraging the blockchain, it is actually very good news.
I am glad they are considering using the Bitcoin blockchain than setting up an alt specifically for this purpose.

Wonderful thread.
The OP was last active in November 2011.
I think he would have been trolled a great deal if he ever returned.  Grin
1804  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good old times could be back soon on: July 25, 2015, 03:44:49 AM
Rocket starts after last auction announcement (first 10% crash) or gox coins resolution.

Gox coins resolution doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.
Bitcoin looks like it is a rocket about to take off.
1805  Economy / Speculation / Re: Got my 1st BTC, and now? on: July 25, 2015, 03:41:57 AM
Hold it with you , Don't Gamble as i have lost more than 0.7 btc this week in Gambling and will probably quit it , wait for future when the Bitcoin price gonna be skyrocketing , Till then be careful , trade your skills to add more coins to it.
enjoy life.

He should probably move it to cold storage, so that he will be able to resist the urge to spend it.
1806  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 25, 2015, 03:38:24 AM
Gold seems to be going down day by day.
It is at a five and a half year low now.
1807  Other / Off-topic / Re: Green Grass on: July 25, 2015, 03:29:50 AM
Grass is a terrible waste of water.
The water spent on grass could be used to grow some food crops.
1808  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there any site similar to bitcointalk.org on: July 20, 2015, 04:13:33 PM
Hi,
Is there any site which is similar to bitcointalk.org, Where we can earn Money from Signature Campaign by Providing our Signature for Rent. Please let me know the site name if there any site offering to make money from renting the signature. Waiting for your reply

Bitcoin made micro-payments possible.
So it is apt that Bitcointalk.org is the place where most signature campaigns are present.
Wasn't GEMS social network supposed to work on a similar concept?
1809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Digital dollar? on: July 19, 2015, 03:06:39 PM
Even without the government's active efforts, the use of hard cash has decreased, primarily due to the convenience factor.
It will take time, but the use of coins and notes will gradually decrease.
Even in the developing world, electronic money transfer systems account for a majority of bank transactions.
1810  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Gambling on: July 19, 2015, 02:56:36 PM
Afternoon Guys,

Question about BTC gambling Wink

Is it regulated in the same way traditional online casinos and gambling centers are regulated, which accept fiat for payment? Or do the rules not apply..

Much appreciated Cool

The same rules apply to other online casinos (fiat or BTC).
Enforcement is a different ball game.  Smiley

If I had the power to change one seemingly trivial thing about the human race, it would be eliminating useless body hair.

The hair we no longer need is being slowly evolved out.  There was a time when we needed it, and evolution doesn't happen instantly.

The hair on the head is pretty useless too.  Smiley
When evolution does take place, I hope all hair goes.
1813  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek Plan Accepts Austerity to Get Debt Relief on: July 12, 2015, 01:40:38 PM
Like I said, there is no Grexit, Greece will just cope with the measures imposed. They are trying to get like 30% of the debt removed but merkel wasn't happy about doing so. We should find the final outcome of this tonight.

Grexit is something which neither Greece wants or the rest of Europe wants.
The Troika didn't bail out Greece, they bailed out European banks. Now it is difficult to come up with a solution which satisfies everybody.

Euro, drachma, bitcoin? Greece’s currency options

European leaders have given Greece until the weekend to reach an aid-for-reforms deal with its creditors or risk bankruptcy and banking collapse. Here, we outline the currency options available to Greece if it leaves the single currency.

1815  Other / Off-topic / Re: why every one is looking for girls here.. ??? on: July 08, 2015, 04:40:45 PM
i'm starting this thread in reply to all those who have started threads to ask about "the girls" ..
Is being a girl is issue here ... every one use to ask about girls ...
if guy'z want some girls they can use the cheap websites where the girls are available..

People don't have to ask for girls.
There are multiple women / sites being advertised in the services section.
1816  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christian bakers fined $135,000 for refusing to make wedding cake for lesbians on: July 06, 2015, 05:59:09 PM
But at the same time I believe anyone should have the right to refuse buisness to ANYONE for ANY reason.

You will soon have segregation if that kind of logic is allowed.  Smiley
1817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions about Bitcoin Price on Halving block ? on: July 06, 2015, 05:53:49 PM
Simple Economics.

If supply issuance goes down while demand stays the same (or gains, which I expect) then price must go to moon

Demand for bitcoins is a function of price. So equilibrium will be attained very quickly.  Wink

Are you a wizard? I was just considering adding cooldowns to Advertiser positions. 2-3 months is ridiculous though; 7 days is enough time to let someone else grab the slot and let the old enrollment pick a new one. This will be effective immediately since Advertiser payments go out tomorrow.

Aren't advertiser payments supposed to go out on Jul 10th?

If you have Bit-licenses in place, Bitcoin has really lost its soul.  Smiley

When do the polls close and when will we know?

Polls will close at 19:00 Athens timezone http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/greece/athens and I believe we will know 1-2 hours afterwards

It will be an interesting day.
I'm fairly confident it will be a vote against the Euro their will be an exit poll so it will give some sentiment during the day but seeing as it will be close either way we really may not know until a few hours after.

The older guys have seen the depreciation of drachma.
It isn't going to be easy to decide to go back.
