1881  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: July 10, 2015, 11:00:35 PM
Crypto borrowing cannot work without reliable mechanisms to collect collateral from the meatspace.

It was working WAY better before for me........

Look at who you are loaning too... boo to the changes BOO!!

Bah the loan requests on there are down so hard Sad.
1882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: July 10, 2015, 08:20:17 PM
The OP is now a barrell of laughs. I wonder if the thread starter had managed to get a position before the 4x rise.

Having said that there will be steep corrections now which have already started so dont get caught holding the bag.

Watch this bear trap, the likes to which the crypto world has never seen.
1883  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we hit $300 on: July 10, 2015, 08:13:36 PM
Western exchanges should make it to $300 by the close today, I'm thinking that there either will be a dump on the weekends or bitcoin will be pumped insanely high.

IMO a dump back to $280-289 range.

Pro tip: Never buy or sell on my opinion.

Canadain exchange has shot past $300 hours ago.
1887  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEXT 48H ARE CRITICAL!!!!!!!! on: July 10, 2015, 07:57:35 PM
300 is just a number for americans. wow the world does not revolve around america. Think of OTHER currencies. 300 is just pure psychology.

$300 looks very pretty you leave $300 alone!
1888  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek Plan Accepts Austerity to Get Debt Relief on: July 10, 2015, 07:41:57 PM

1889  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we hit $300 on: July 10, 2015, 07:38:23 PM
"hit" apparently today LOL!

There is about a 0% chance BTC doesn't bubble again or collapse..  With so little people using it.... even 1% of the pop joining in..BOOM.  There just cannot be a steady rise to 1k.. it will be very violent.
1890  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEXT 48H ARE CRITICAL!!!!!!!! on: July 10, 2015, 07:36:33 PM
Small steady rise is preferred. Something like 1% a week.

That is just not possible.

EVENTUALLY everyone sees HOLY SHIT BTC is getting 1% a week I should jump in.. and BOOM.. then collapse and the cycle restarts.

.... if I had a bit for everytime I heard the next x hours are criticle I'd be rich.
1891  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Trap triggered on: July 10, 2015, 07:34:44 PM
I'm betting on..

a move to 4-600

a move back to 3-500

unknown
1892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed transaction - 9 hours! on: July 10, 2015, 07:15:17 PM
Been waiting 51 hours now and suddenly my transaction is gone from blockchain.info  Huh

Those of you who are old enough to remeber the days before internet know the feeling of wondering where my money is traveling at the moment. Sending cash in the mail was high risk sport... Grin
That is ok and normal. Any unconfirmed transaction will be dropped from the network and "forgotten" after a few days. The Bitcoin is safe, and you can just resend the transaction with a higher fee so that it can actually be confirmed.

If it's dropped from the network how do you the get BTC back in your wallet?

Load a backup wallet you didn't do that TX on.
1893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralization and lack of authority as a weakness on: July 10, 2015, 07:12:14 PM
I've seen many people lately criticising bitcoin's lack of authority as a possible weakness. From what it seems, users have to put (at least some) trust to miners and pools and rely on them for things like generating blocks with updated clients, including transactions etc. Wouldn't such an issue scale up as bitcoin grows? Could it be addressed somehow?

I don't see this causing any issues while scaling..?

I don't understand the problem you are seeing.

Miners make BTC the most secure network ON THE PLANET...

TRUST NO ONE, start mining your self to secure the network, I am.

Kijiiji, buy an S3, bam there you go Smiley.  Mine to help BTC worry not about profit!
1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A thought... on: July 10, 2015, 07:07:43 PM
that's the point of this test, because bitcoin can't handle this, and we can't reach mainstream with the current TX limit, mainstream is far worse than just 150 tx per second, far far worse, the tx spam that you're seeing right now is nothing in comaprison, a big joke....

take a look at the TX volume of Visa for example, this is what we call mainstream

BTC will never EVER have the same TX volume as Visa. Why? because BTC will be a token for the largest financial ledger of the world. ppl wont use BTC to buy coffee. They use it to buy a house, pay tuition or simply hedge against other financial vehicle

Hmm last time I remember Roger Ver ordered a coffee in Starbucks with the help of bitcoin. Tongue Bitcoin CAN be used to buy almost anything that fiat money can buy provided that there will be merchants ready to accept bitcoin as a form of payment. Take note that bitcoin is also divisible, so even if bitcoin reach a ludicrous amount, say $10,000 a piece, you can still divide it and get a $100 out of it to pay for your coffee or meal or almost anything.

At a max of 7 transactions per second... it won't be used for buying coffee by the average person...

There is heavy debating going on about what to do...

I don't think the interent backbone will advance fast enough to follow gavin's doubling plan, it's a decent plan though, however I think inncorrect.
1895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.8.3 Security Update on: July 10, 2015, 07:01:32 PM
When dogecoin price rise, where are you all expected to sell your coins?

On an exchange...?

Or don't sell them and use them..
1896  Other / Meta / Re: users and moderators too offending me heavily on: July 10, 2015, 06:39:54 PM
IN all fairness.. the mods shouldn't be dicks to people just for fun.

This.. Amph makes a very good point, however increaseing the blockchain to handle that kind of volume is currently not possible.  It could be increased but at 20k TX per second.. the bloat would decimate nodes.
1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The attack on the network is not hostile on: July 10, 2015, 03:51:01 PM
If they wanted to inflict damage, real damage they could have sent all that spam at once.
But the spam comes in waves starting and stopping to keep the backlog in a target area.

HUm perhaps this is a warning we have a flaw and not an attack.. you could be onto something.

NON THE LESS, we need to act.
1899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We ARE under attack.. we NEED to act... on: July 10, 2015, 03:49:09 PM
It's game over, guys. The powers the be want Bitcoin gone. I've found out that this isn't being done by some one off random hacker dude somewhere messing around trying to cause some chaos. This is a coordinated effort by some of the largest and most powerful financial entities in the world to destabilize the network and ruin bitcoin for good. The bitcoin "community" has no options available for stopping this from happening. This is an ant vs a lion type battle. They have billions of dollars - transaction fees are inconsequential. They have millions of servers and  personnel. Cash out your bitcoins into fiat now before it's too late as this is just a warmup for a longer more broad attack that shall fell bitcoin. It was obvious this day would come do you really think the fiat complex would actually let bitcoin become a threat to their dominance? a decentralized currency means no one has ultimate control. Humans won't accept not being able to control the masses.

It's time to bleed the pigs dry, we can eaisly make it cost them a 10's of million of dollars every 10min to do this.. funneling that wealth to the miners.

This COULD be the event that hangs the old money who have ran this world for to long.
1900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We ARE under attack.. we NEED to act... on: July 10, 2015, 03:46:42 PM
How can i contribute to stop this "stress test", we are tired of unconfirmed transactions

We need a dev to do something...........

WHERE THE F are they....

I suppose someone could implyment it, it could be reviewed and we could all just jump to the new QT..
