1901  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 31 to Jan 12 Diff thread picks closed. on: January 12, 2016, 12:02:37 AM
my high guess for diff increase now doesnt seem that high.  god damn antminers s7 are selling like hotcakes i presume.  still 1100$ around, + customs and duties and you only get it in 1 week and a half to two weeks.  I feel diff will increase again and again.  I also feel price will explode.  I feeeeeeeeeeeeel it.
1902  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 11, 2016, 09:17:32 PM
where to report this in USA ?

You can try the FTC and SEC, but they likely have been investigating Cryptsy for a while now anyway.

I don't think there is anything you can really do right now but just watch them collapse, and wait for the legalities for formally get underway in the hope that you might get something back.

Unlikely you will though Sad Seems they have been insolvent for several months.  Undecided

FTC + SEC may not know how to trace blockchains ( WE KNOW )

ANOTHER QUESTION: IS VERN PROTECTED PERSON IN THE USA ( FTC + SEC WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING TO HIM )
OR HE HAS NO SUCH PROTECTION?

Rest assured that three-letter agencies now have blockchain experts on their payroll to handle ongoing and future cryptocurrency investigations, with knowing first-hand that the FBI has such.

hmmm...where does one get a such a high paying consultant job ?  PM me lawyer firms, I only charge 3000$ per full day of consulting.  ヽ༼◕ل͜◕༽ノ

New firmware for fan speed....so...........why not just set fan speed at manual ?  whats the difference

Indeed. One Bitmain employee answered my question regarding internet outages by saying "set it on manual at 100% to be safe".
Since it's very cold outside here and I have my windows and door open where my farm is situated, I set it on 85%. I will likely go up to 100% in the spring.

I have temps of 57-60 with 35% manual fan.  I dont understand...if the internet goes out, how can the antminer over heat if the fan stays at 35% ?  its not like its going to work harder than it already is ?  I feel bitmain's answer to you of 100% to be safe is wrong.  100% on the fans is too much in my opinion.

meh, get a 1600w g2 instead of the p2 imo.  go see johny guru review for it.  its pretty much plat in efficiency, and costs less.
1908  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Hmm? Which pool? Nicehash? Kano? Something else? on: January 10, 2016, 03:47:57 AM
I suggest mining at kano.is pool.  I find great stats, fast updates, good luck, and almost daily payouts.  there is some variability, but that's all good.
1909  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: January 10, 2016, 03:43:31 AM
Take a look at this simple spread sheet that I compiled to see a comparative picture of the impact of the mysterious hashrate from 14Dec2015 to 04Jan16. Hashrate above 35 PH are highlighted in red.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1z4TDQNI6GoiQxkcRw2kpR3EGcHEu3Kk2oBab6wYvPfQ/pubhtml

Looks like the whale is starting to pile his/her way back in...time to bail again?   With only 240 GH hashing power (4 U3's on a Raspberry), Slush was for the longest time the best option for my circumstances...was on Kano for a while (learned so much with the excellent communication) but of course it is not a pool really developed for small hashpower miners. I get a sick-in-the-stomach feeling whenever I am on Antpool but if Slush keeps roller-coastering up and down like this what options do we have?

Hmmm 240ghs yeah kano would be the best pool, but you have to make sure you make over the "dust" threshold per block or else you wont get paid.  i agree that kinda sucks
1910  Economy / Economics / Re: Long term OIL on: January 10, 2016, 03:25:05 AM
There was much over investment, now there is much over supply, not because demand has necessarily fallen - but because it has not followed projected growth rates.  If it grows by 1 percent a year, compared to 5 percent a year, after 5 years you have a huge gap in barrels per day.

Oil will remain low for quite a while.  people who buy in now are just "catching a falling knife".  Most likely will stagnate for a few years.  we havent seen the real panic yet.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhh I wouldnt advise going to russia or china, these two countries will be hardest hit if there is a global meltdown
1912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Doge coin is bad on: January 10, 2016, 03:12:11 AM
Fear not, dogecoin is alive and well.  there is low % inflation compared to bitcoin.  Price is already up 30% Smiley Smiley Smiley

Cracked open the first bottle of my latest batch of beer for the imminent block pop.
Cheers! Smiley

ahhhhhhhhh sounds delicious.  I too like to brew the magic water.  Although not often.  I reckon a light ale might be appropriate, easy and rewarding.
1914  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 31 to Jan 12 Diff thread picks closed. on: January 09, 2016, 06:52:13 PM
We can only hope the chinese gov thugs shut down f2pool and antpool and bitmaintech for not paying proper taxes huehuehue.  now that would be fun times.
1915  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: January 09, 2016, 06:46:50 PM
With an s7, rule of thumb is :  overclock if you want, underclock if you want, find a good setting with sub 0.01% error, and then - DONT TOUCH IT EVER AGAIN.  Smiley  Also check out the luck we had at Kano.is pool SmileySmileySmileySmileySmiley

good, but doesn't it also mean that from now on, there will be bad luck there (on average)?

nah futur luck is independent of past luck.  but I see what you mean yeah, getting this luck again is probably not going to happen for a while.
1916  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 09, 2016, 06:45:52 PM
Hoping some of that luck will rub off...

hahahahhahaha good luck, and dont forget to take the lump sum and pay all your taxes.  also open a "hedge fund" i.e. private placement fund, and put your money in it on an offshore site that is safe.  then invest in the world.  or have me do it  Smiley
1917  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Bitcoin's journey from $400 to $200,000 will realistically look like. on: January 09, 2016, 06:43:14 PM
BRK is also a useless asset that just sits there, and hopefully you can you can trade it to a greater fool down the road.

Bitcoin has actual utility and can grow to the second tier of money: a transactional economy.

Bitcoin has a strong chance to grow to a paltry 21 times the size of BRK and could conceivably go much higher.

well brk owns real companies, that provide real jobs, that make real products and give real services....
