People seem to be focusing on your newbie restriction comment which is the most trivial out of the ideas presented.

I agree that the staff turn a blind eye to scam artists, scam operations, and illegal activity in general.

I was burned during a trade when I first joined this forum and I was amazed by how lackadaisical the community was and especially the mods/staff as to my situation. I was deemed at fault for being scammed. There were no repercussions for the other party. To enrage me even further, he kept using the same name to scam more people even though I had presented evidence that he was a scamming piece of shit.

It's incredibly easy for the staff to say that this isn't our problem and all trades/activities are at your own risk but is this REALLY how you want to promote and grow a community? Everybody for themselves? There are a lot of people who will give up on something if they lose a few hundred dollars.  That isn't the direction I think we want to take bitcoin.

I see huge interest in a new bitcoin forum that will actually entice new members to join, stay, and grow the community.

Hell with the number of staff here involved in some of the biggest scams im not shocked.  This forum is dangerous at best for newbies.  In fact if i see someone with a staff title advertising something im running the other way not getting involved.

are you serious?

I thought the warning on bitcointalk.com about this place was just sour grapes.

when I ran my other forums scammers were banned and advertisers were vetted. to not protect the community which makes the forum beneficial is negligent as far as I'm concerned.

Is it correct that with AC there is 1 week left of POW stage and POS starts with 42 million total coins?

Not sure on the price performance but chart looks like the price is hitting a floor with buy support around 700.

so does anyone have any reeasonable explanation why this coin is doing so poorly while Yellowcoin is doing so well?

This coin had so much more hype too!

Huh

one concern as to whether or not I stay in your pool

the other pool I was in mining YC showed me as getting a lot more YC per day than your pool

   jjj092353   14,764 hash   9,763.334 yc/day

why is yours so much lower?

I hope this corrects soon or I'll have to go back to the other pool

you guys are only showing me getting half that amount I was getting on the other pool...

I need to switch back unless your number comes up.

I was thinking of getting one of these little things before the big ASICs come online.
The idea of decentralised crypto is getting smaller now we've got datacentres holding a high percent of hashing.
Or at least with BTC.

Looks like all gridseed distributors are selling at the same price so not a promo from what I can tell.

If I were to buy one today when do you expect to ship?

In stock, next day dispatch. There was a delay last week due to Easter holiday. Now all back to normal.

I can vouch for this company - they got me two blades in 6 days. Ordered on a tuesday - shipped from China - sitting on my doorstep in Maryland the following Monday. Making money Monday night!

what is your payout level set to?

this can happen until your payout threshold is met and it does take some time for them to be confirmed.

what pool are you on?
1912  Other / Off-topic / A new forum - possibly on: April 24, 2014, 02:49:54 PM
I'm a relative newby here - been around for about 2 months now and to be honest I have never seen a place like this where the moderators have not stepped in to delete/suppress known scams/scammers.

The moderators seem great at moving new threads if they're in the incorrect forum but never seem to intervene when there are crooks and scammers post miners etc for sale.

My background is running forums. This past year I sold two of the largest forums on the website to a forum consolidation company. I won;t go into details but both of the forums that I ran - one I started and the other I purchased from a bankrupt company both had Alexa Rankings in the top 25,000 sites in the web.

I've been discussing with my wife getting back into the fray and starting a new site for anyone interested in Virtual Currency and the moderators would have the ability to intervene and protect unsuspecting people from scammers and also have to ability to kill posts from people introducing coins that are clearly scams, etc....

There are a lot of very knowledgable people on this forum and a lot of people who could benefit tremendously from those with knowledge.

In addition on the new forum vendors would have to clearly Identify themselves - I'm not sure how yet but anyone trying to take your money for hardware would have to submit themselves to a vetting process so you can be sure you're dealing with someone legit and if they scam someone I'd publish their IP address and everything known about them.

these are some of my thoughts and I'd like your thoughts also on a how a new forum could be better, safer, friendlier etc....

what would you folks like to see and what do you want?

I would not make  newbies wait 6 minutes between posts either because when you're new is when you have the most questions.

thanks in advance

Jeff

1920  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: MinerEU -Gridseed EU Distributor, In UK Stock, EU duty/VAT free, Reseller wanted on: April 24, 2014, 12:24:16 AM
Hy MinerEU, when will you sell new Scrypt Miners (60-70 M/Hash) ?

Gridseed's main product is the G-Blade now. There are new products in the pipeline but the release date is not confirmed (Personally I think it will take some time).

hopefully my replacement unit will be shipped tomorrow?
will you send me a tracking number for the replacement unit?
