1941  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Fake ChipMixer review? on: July 12, 2022, 08:08:48 PM
It surprised me that a blog site who ranked up in google first page has put a fake article on their blog. How bad internet could be? I always thought SEO is expensive and it takes time and a lot of money to rank up a site.
With my little knowledge of SEO, how much to pay depends on the keywords one wish to rank for and also how much useful content they put out.
It's generally not that expensive and fake sites can easily get ranked up if they put enough time to it and they are in a relatively small niche.

Shall I assume everything on that site are fake and have fishing URLs to scam visitors? I really hope I am wrong.
That's a possibility. It's always safer to assume everything is s scam until proven otherwise, so if there's any evidence suggesting that, I would avoid the site altogether.
1942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: G20 to propose worldwide crypto rules in October on: July 12, 2022, 01:13:46 PM
FSB says that the recent downfall of the crypto market showcased crypto's volatility and links to the wider financial system. The FSB has no power to impose any new laws, however, but its members could apply the regulations in their own jurisdictions.
Here's a link to the release for anyone interested in checking it out.
The recent turmoil referred to in the article is the current bear market, which is present in every speculative market, even stocks.
The idea that regulation benefits the public and prevents such situations is false.
We've had real estate crashes, stock crashes etc; while they are regulated.

Plenty of 'experts' are saying that the crypto industry should welcome the regulation with open arms, as centralization would, apparently, further stabilize the market and protect the investors' funds,
The term 'experts' get thrown around a lot, and doesn't have much meaning in present day reporting.
Centralization of a decentralized market does not make it better, it just makes it easier to control, which is the major aim of the report.
1943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What update bitcoin needs to be the global stable coin? on: July 12, 2022, 01:04:04 PM
Bitcoin does not need to be updated to a global stable coin, that's not what it was designed to be. We should all stop acting like there's a flaw in the Bitcoin protocol which needs fixing, so it can conform more to how fiat operates or other assets the world is used to.

If you're interested in owning Bitcoin go to an exchange, preferably a P2P one and buy one, then get a reputable wallet to store it while saving your backups,
But, if you think the current system is not convenient, you can look for other assets. There are stable coins out there which you can go for.
1944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Have Donated My Campaign BTC to buy Laptop for Practical Classes on: July 12, 2022, 12:43:21 PM
Great initiative. You have been doing a really great job for the students you are charged with educating. The basic school system teaches very little about what one would experience in real life, thank you for changing that a bit.

I am actually more excited you are teaching investments, I would assume that would come with financial education and how to manage money which is a core component of making investments. Also utilize resources like books, videos or articles to make the lessons more fun for the kids, or those who are interested.

You can consider linking all your previous threads on this topic together, so viewers can easily follow the conversation.
1945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The number of hodlers on: July 11, 2022, 08:21:43 PM
Although the on-chain indicators point towards the worst-ever BTC bearish market,
What online indicators are pointing towards this? The bearish sentiments are definitely high among investors and traders, but calling it the worst ever Bitcoin bear market seems like a bit of a reach

The number of hodlers not selling ever under extreme market conditions has become higher than in previous bearish markets.
As the Bitcoin market grows, investors have lots of history to understudy and this would definitely influence their resolve to hold or cut their losses. Much earlier when Bitcoin was still a very novel concept and there were lots of uncertainties about it, it was much more difficult to actually hodl than it is now.
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many Crypto Projects Will Die on: July 11, 2022, 08:08:27 PM
Simply starting threads with no plan to join a discussion, counts as spam.
Op has made a number of threads (although not consistent) with very little content besides a link to the exact same webpage.

It's a very poor way to try and build traffic or backlinks, and makes discussions in the forum stale. In addition to the fact that many of the started threads are topics not deserving of one.
1947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Reasons why there's an Increasing Crypto Scam Rate on: July 11, 2022, 07:50:15 PM
<snip>... into going to the banks to make a deposit...It worked for them a while, but then the banks started clamping down on them... <snip>
While banks and fraudsters were in a struggle to out play each other over the years; the idea that scams with fiat were not working or was on the decline is not exactly accurate.
By a huge margin, fiat is still the major means of scams and fraud. Cryptocurrencies are seemingly more convenient, but still does not mean it's more in use, scams involving it are just more reported.
1948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gets more attention on: July 11, 2022, 07:31:26 PM
Bear markets are usually slow periods, but they are the best time to jump into bitcoin; Prices are lower, but potential is high. With enough patience and controlled investments, the ROI could be very high.
This also applies to businesses, cooperate firms and banks getting into bitcoin.

I should point out that the Swiss Post is looking to gain more exposure into cryptocurrencies and not Bitcoin in particular and have been into the crypto space for some time now.
1949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In El Salvador Seems To Be Failing on: July 11, 2022, 06:47:55 PM
the 60% really needs to learn trading this time to maintain the value. someone i think should act to provide signals for them so they'd know when to sell and buy.
I should reiterate that the 60% number are those who downloaded the recommended wallet to claim the $30 Bitcoin airdrop, only one-tenth of that number actually kept on using it according to the article.
Also, trading is not everyone's cup of tea and one does not need it inorder to get into bitcoin or use it as a medium of exchange. It's also not surprising that majority went back to the safety of fiat, Bitcoin is not nature as a currency and not everyone has ready to gamble their assets on it.
1950  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance: Payment Suspended Due to Risk Management on: July 11, 2022, 04:26:14 PM
Did you recently perform activity on your account, like change of password or multiple transactions? Could be a reason for the error message.
Messaging the binance customer support is the best way to understand what is wrong and how you can fix it. Send an email detailing fully what you've noticed.
If you use an exchange account as cold storage, this is a good sign to switch that. Not your keys; Not your coins.
A non custodian wallet is the best form of security.
1951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In El Salvador Seems To Be Failing on: July 11, 2022, 03:58:56 PM
The article says that 60% of Salvadorans got into the Bitcoin train when it was introduced; With an estimated population of six and a half million people, that's about 3.9 million and with 10% still using it after exhausting their airdrop bitcoins, that is approximately 400k users in the country. Those are not terrible numbers if you ask me, for the first year of introduction and in a bear market.

The bear market is naturally a slow time for Bitcoin adoption and this would become a trend if more countries adopt it as a currency; Periods of growth where everyone is happy, mixed with bear markets, where citizens complain their assets are lossing value.
I expect volatility to slowly reduce as adoption grows over the years, but while we still have wild fluctuations, there would always be analysis about what Bitcoin project failed when the market slows down.
1952  Other / Meta / Re: differences in online crypto communities on: July 11, 2022, 03:42:58 PM
Most of my browsing time is spent on bitcointalk, not just when I'm digging into crypto stuffs, but generally when I'm on the internet.
Reddit - Don't use this.

Bitcointalk - My favorite resource and community to log into. Very different in design from the others. I do not follow latest trends here due to the design and how easy it is to miss what was posted on the different boards.

Crypto Twitter - My second favorite crypto related community. Mostly filled with hype and bullish tweets from profiles looking to build followers, but I find that there are lots of good handles with useful content

Discord - Has a unique sort of layout from the rest and how you enjoy it depends on what servers or communities you're on.

Telegram - Same as discord, just with more scammers.
1953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret buying before the dip on: July 10, 2022, 08:48:32 PM
A quick question for anyone here who purchased bitcoins say on June 9th just before the unexpected dip began? Do you regret your decisions and are you confident that bitcoins will bounce back?
All market movements are unexpected and the only certainty is volatility.
Anyone who purchases bitcoins at a certain time, should have already understood that the market can always go below their entry level, it could take 8 days or months. Such fluctuations shouldn't bother you much, especially as a long term holder.

In 5, 10 or 20 years, it would matter little, if you bought in at $30k or $20k.
1954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The List of Popular and free blockchain bitcoin observers. on: July 10, 2022, 08:34:40 PM
Blockchair explorer is not to be blame if a person fails to do their research. For all I know it could be google ads designed to surface when you type certain keywords. The casino is a scam, no amount of paid ads will change that.
Popular platforms have a civic responsibility to vett any website which wants to be advertised through them. They have a reputation and users can easily trust their recommendation.
Google and play store have received lots of backlash for promoting s am platforms without doing their due diligence.
There is however still the possibility that they didn't discover the scam accusations before promoting the website.
1955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whole coiner status in 10+ years on: July 10, 2022, 08:04:53 PM
What do you think it it will mean to have an entire bitcoin as we truly hit the depths of supply shock. That moment when there is no turning back from terms like "Store of value" and many products are then denominated in Bitcoin?
It could mean one of two things,
• A regular person identified the potential in Bitcoin early and invested wisely over a period of year, gradually building their stash up to the value of 1BTC, or
• Late institutional investors are struggling to join the Bitcoin party and grab as many coins as they can from the market.

In the first scenario, you could be said to be a financial genius by many and you would have acquired many financial lessons along the way to building your stash. The second scenario wouldn't mean much.

For me I imagine a world where someone wants to start a project and as a whole coiner, you walk in and have the ability to angel invest on a dime, or by simply  being in the room you are collateral for innovation.
My objective of being in Bitcoin would be to not be identified to hold any when I walk into whatever room.
1956  Other / Meta / Re: Should there be a central warning board (not reputation) on: July 09, 2022, 07:14:08 PM
A central warning board if created would be very broad and defining what should and shouldn't be posted there might create some confusion.
It's a good idea, but, imo it would be greatly abused just as the press board in now, or it would be very strict in moderation leading to little or no interactions.

This suggestion, sounds very like the serious discussion board, which many members do not visit.
1957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and crypto can only stay if it getting simple also secure people are afraid on: July 09, 2022, 02:47:39 PM
Also even if fiat curremcy is gone...right now the crypto wallets are difficult to use it should be simple as your online banking app then it can be mainstream use case.
I can create a Bitcoin wallet with no transaction limitation within 2 minutes.
Creating an account would require identification, paperwork, visiting a physical Branch and possible future visits in certain situations.
A Bitcoin wallet seems easier to me. There's also nothing technical about transacting on a Bitcoin wallet.

Even the fiat can end its the people who choose what they want to use it the btc volatility not good point either most if people are not with financial background neither tech background they can not understood the usecase or value of btc the volatility scare them.
Anyone with knowledge of investments or a few minutes of research would understand volatility.
Also, you don't need deep financial background to understand how absence of third party interference in your finances is good, or to understand how inflation adversely affects you.

So the question is is there are clear plan and path way to resolve those mentioned issues so the non traders non speculators or swindlers will start to adopt and get in crypto and use it daily ?
Everyone must not use Bitcoin.
The protocol is not going to change to be more accepted, if fiat, stocks, commodities, etc works for you, then stick to them.
1958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get your coins out of Coinify ASAP on: July 09, 2022, 02:24:19 PM
The safest place to have your coins saved in all markets, but mostly in a bear period is in your non custodian wallet.
A non custodian wallet is as easy to navigate as any one out there, and if you have any difficulties, you can always ask here. If you are not an active trader, saved transaction cost to and from an exchange is quite negligible.

The bear market (safe to say because we had a drop from $68K to $69K) played a vital role for it if I am not wrong.
Drop to $19k you mean.
Would have been fun to actually drop higher tho  Grin
1959  Other / Meta / Re: Guest safety on: July 06, 2022, 09:05:00 PM
We are pressing it too hard.
This is a forum. Not a review site nor a scam hunting site or a site who separate wrong from right on the internet.
It is just a forum. Flag, trust score etc are just some features to help the community members. We do not need to care about the entire world wide web ☺️
Guests and visitors are not the entire www. They are users who stumble on the forum or where recommended to go here and are yet to create an account.
I for one usually advice users to browse around as a guest and learn about the forum, read rules, explore the features etc, before registering an account here. That's one reason I would want those users to either have available features to avoid possible scams or their exposure to them be reduced.

Trust score helps only when a user wants to trade with another user. It's visible on reputation, service such type of boards. The flag works the same and it's absolutely fine for me.
The issue with that, is in the highlighted case, trust flag would only be visible on the 1xbit thread, users with the signature will not have any flags or warnings about them promoting a scam project.
1960  Other / Meta / Re: Guest safety on: July 06, 2022, 12:13:50 PM
Why are people that do not register on this forum not seeing the positive, neutral and negative trust of registered users on this forum when they are able to see their signature and avatar?
I certainly do not understand why, and I'll prefer that guests do not see signatures or avatars as well, except maybe, the forum ad.

Guests are limited from a couple of options, like viewing trust, or using the search option which are useful is safely navigating the forum. They should equally be limited from viewing signatures and avatars which are means of advertisment, as they are not adequately informed on which links are considered safe by the community and which are not.
