21  Economy / Economics / Re: Should there be a limit to investing in your children? on: June 07, 2024, 08:25:21 PM
There is a current trend in my country where parents are doing everything financially possible to give their children the best education. Some parents have gone to the extent of selling properties or taking loans to send their children to some of the best schools in and outside the country. I have spoken with some of them, and the reason they give is that this child will get good jobs and take care of them in the future.

I had to bring up this issue because most of them are becoming disappointed and depressed. In my location, children are seen as an investment because they have the responsibility to take care of their parents when they are retired, old, or unemployed. So parents will want to invest high in education because they think it will bring high returns. Many of these students who attended prestigious schools end up becoming unemployed and are still depending on their parents to survive. I also assume that many of them regret going the extra mile to give their children the best. They have lost money and are also in debt but their children are still dependants.

Do you think parents should have a limit on the amount they can invest in their children?
This sounds like a retirement plan investment, they are investing to secure their future by letting all the future responsibilities be shouldered by their childer.
Actually it isn't something new to me and it is happening also in my country, parents are expecting that their children would take care of all their bills, needs or any expenses ones they are earning, this would result to their children being suffocated.
For me there is nothing wrong with investing in your child/ childrens future, just don't use it against them when they grew up, most of the parents that I know are always stating or using it against their child when they couldn't provide enough money for their parents.
We should remember that it is our responsibility as a parent to give them a better future so we shouldn't use it against them.
22  Other / Off-topic / Re: Avoid using public wifi for private activities on: June 07, 2024, 07:44:42 PM
I always avoid connecting to public wifi or any wifi that I don't personally know the owner.
It is always better to be safe than sorry, specially if you are using your phone for any transaction or it have any access to your private accounts.
23  Economy / Economics / Re: Things to avoid when you earn a lot or become rich on: June 07, 2024, 05:45:18 PM
Don't brag or tell everyone about it, not all of them would be glad about your success some might be envious of it.
Avoid showing too much or spending too much when you are in gathering or meeting up with your friends or family.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you lost the money that you where supposed to withdraw from online casino? on: June 07, 2024, 05:22:48 PM
It happened to me so many times before, I was going to withdraw it but I suddenly became greedy and played again, I bet it all in and set an odd with 80% chance to win, but I still lose, and there are also times that I would play a last game but I would lose, and it would trigger me to play more till I would end up losing all of the money in my account.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin gradually turning away from its purpose? on: June 07, 2024, 04:57:03 PM
Like the title explained it all when sighting towards the speculation or trade discussion section I mostly found out that lots of people are gradually turn away the purpose of bitcoin to mainly investment purposes and I mean to asked, was bitcoin created for investment purpose or it's for peer to peer to alternate fiat?

I would love to see different versions of input.
It was created for peer to peer and for anonymity, but most of us are using it as an investment tool and giving out our information to use centralized exchange by providing KYC.
I think that everyone is free to do what they want when they bought it, and the creator somehow expected it this way since there is a limited supply the price would surely increase.
Bitcoin might be used as a peer to peer or as a currency when the price became stable and the fee became lower.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet against the club you support? on: June 07, 2024, 12:49:34 PM
I once bet on the opposite team that I supported in eSports before, I acknowledge their strength, and know they are stronger so they have a higher chance of winning.
We are talking about gambling here, not supporting a team, I wouldn't risk my money if I know that it would just lose.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it still possible to retire early? on: June 06, 2024, 10:16:19 PM
It would be possible if you have enough money to support your lifestyle and needs, you have to have enough passive income in order to retire at an early age, let your money work for you in order to survive while enjoying life, they should also consider where to live when they decide to retire, they should know if they could afford the cost of living vs their income.
But I guess this would only be applicable for single people, those who have family or kids would surely need to work for their kids future, so early retirement would be hard for them.
28  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is getting addicted to gambling right or wrong? on: June 06, 2024, 08:40:15 PM
When did an addiction became right? specially when that addiction is ruining the persons life.
Being addicted to gambling would not only affect the persons life but he/she would also dragged down his/her family along it.
The gambling addict would not only lose money, property or their possession, but also their family.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: If a token keeps falling, how to save it on: June 06, 2024, 05:44:20 PM
I would cut loss if I am an investor, but if I am the creator I would try to build a stronger community to make the price stable, make promotion or publicity as well as make sure that the project has a purpose so that the investor would surely come.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN will be $350,000 by August 25, 2024 - Robert Kiyosaki on: June 06, 2024, 05:26:02 PM
Just another prediction from a known personality, this isn't something new in crypto there are so many people who would claims or predict a future price for Bitcoin, and we all know that when they predict the price it would always be exaggerated.
We are hoping it to enter 6 digit but, it would be too much for it to get into that price by this year.
I just don't understand if they would just round out or think of a price why not just jump into million right away?
The price that they are aiming and the date is just too much so why not aim for a higher amount?
31  Other / Off-topic / Re: People are unwilling to admit how horrible they and the people around them are. on: June 06, 2024, 04:59:49 PM
I recently made a post where I called Christians out on their horrible behavior. Everything they do is horrible. They are rude, nasty, and hateful bigots. And guess what? Did Christians stop acting like horrible people? F@#$ no. They are just as horrible as they ever were. Christians are worthless pieces of s@#$.

The people here instead showed me how hateful they really are since they hated me. Whatever happened to repentance? Oh wait. Christians NEVER knew how to repent in the first place because Christians hate Jesus. The people here claimed that there may be good Christians but I just have not met them yet. Well, if I don't meet them, that does not do any good now does it? There needs to not only be theoretical good Christians, but there needs to be good Christians in practice. Christians are generally horrible rotten people. Jesus hates these kinds of people more than anyone. The only thing that would convince me otherwise would be for Christians to act better. If you gaslight me, you are just convincing me that you yourself are horrible.

In Christ,

-Joseph Van Name Ph.D.
Honestly religion doesn't have anything to do with it, it is the people not the religion.
For me it doesn't matter if they are Christians, Catholic or other religion, it is the people who act.
And for starters you also seems to fit in what you are talking about, you are pointing out to them while being rude and telling things, maybe that is how Christians are on your area, but as you've said you haven't met them all so don't judge all of them.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's Your Take on Celebrities Backing Memecoins? on: June 06, 2024, 12:48:09 PM
The question is do they even know what they are promoting?
Do they have knowledge about crypto or how it works, what is the purpose of the crypto that they are promoting.
Most of them are just being used for publicity, they accept it just for the money, they are being paid to promote the project.
33  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: June 05, 2024, 08:26:32 PM
I think it would depend on the contract that they signed, but I guess it is possible and it is happening in some countries.
Even if it isn't gambling debt, just a normal loan there are times that the children would inherit it, and the collectors would come to the family members.
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone take gambling as a source of income to he/she life? on: June 05, 2024, 05:43:24 PM
What do you think would happen if that person lose? how would he/she recover if it is their only source of income?
Also how much would their capital be in order to survive? how would they cover their daily expenses?
If they would only rely on gambling it would be impossible to survive, just think about the cost of living even if they are living in a cheap place or country surely they would run out of money.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting altcoin profits into Bitcoin? on: June 05, 2024, 05:24:05 PM
~snip~

I see some advise to just convert my profits straight into Bitcoin but in doing that I would be buying Bitcoin at the highest prices so don't understand that.
If you feel that the price is still high when you take profit from your altcoins, why not just convert it first into USDT or stable coins then buy Bitcoin when you think that it is already low.
It is also possible that those who advise you to just swap your altcoin profit straight to Bitcoin, are aiming for a long term HODL that is why they don't really care much about the price right now, since they believe that it would be worth it in the long run.
36  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think free-to-play games can generate revenue for players? on: June 05, 2024, 12:45:47 PM
This is why games would have some freebies or special events to keep their players excited, and to attract potential players.
They would also give out discounts in their game so that some players would spend real money on it, this is how they keep the game running.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing wisely in memecoins can give you returns. on: June 04, 2024, 10:09:56 PM
For me it is hard to HODL meme coins since most of them would just be used to gain profit, and when it is done or been used most of them would be forgotten.
But I agree that investing in meme coins could really give you a good profit, but it is hard to know which is which.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you ignore/resist cheating to secure a winning bet? on: June 04, 2024, 08:25:24 PM
Honestly it is easy for us to say that we wouldn't do it or would report it, but would you really let it pass?
If I am going to be honest here I would surely take the opportunity to get something from it, I wouldn't be hypocrite and claims that I wouldn't take advantages of it because if opportunity arise I am sure there would be a lot of people who would also do it, and surely some of those who claims that they would report or wouldn't use the cheat would envy those who are online at the time and gain something from it
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling increases computer education. on: June 04, 2024, 05:34:41 PM
This just show that if they really want to, they would learn how to do things just to enjoy it or continue what they want.
For me being old isn't a restriction in technology, everyone could learn how to use it if they want to, there would always be someone who would be willing to guide them if they ask.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Donate $100 the day bitcoin hits $100k. on: June 04, 2024, 05:00:56 PM
It is great idea, hopefully when Bitcoin reach $100K we would come back to this thread, and see so many people helping out those who are in need on their local community.
Hope that there would be so many forum members who would share their experience on helping out when that time comes.
