I also get confused when I see 100% never changed for me.
I wouldn't be worried about that, it just means that you're doing a good job!

So, I've been busy reporting quite a few posts in the Altcoin Discussion section and there's something really irritating about the current report system. [reference]You cannot see whether you have reported a post before. Would it be possible to disable reporting on a particular post, once you have already reported it? To be clear, just disable reporting for users who have already reported a particular post. Have been using the search function + Google to check if this had been asked before, but didn't find any topics. Also interested in hearing from people who report a lot, how they avoid accidentally reporting topics multiple times... Vod? Flying Hellfish? rickbig41? etc.

Thinking about sponsoring for another week, but I want to have a slightly bigger impact this time So I've come up with a little side-challenge for other people who are thinking of sponsoring this campaign. I want to pledge another 0.01 BTC to be paid on Saturday, 21st of April. But there's a catch... I want to see some other people step up, so I will only send 0.01 BTC, if you get another 0.01 BTC in sponsorships from other people before Saturday, 21st of April (before 8PM UTC).
If that condition is not met, I'll just sponsor 0.005 BTC Good idea or not? Btw, I think you forgot to add me to the list of sponsors

The LBRY project is really interesting, I've been running their app for quite some time now and found some pretty good content on it (though rare). I'll share the explanation given in their FAQ. Couldn't have written it better myself: For most users, LBRY will be a place where they can find great videos, music, ebooks, and more. A vast digital library that is available on all of your devices. But LBRY is many components working together.
LBRY is first and foremost a new protocol that allows anyone to build apps that interact with digital content on the LBRY network. Apps built on the protocol allow creators to upload their work to the LBRY network of hosts (like BitTorrent), and set a price per stream or download (like iTunes) or give it away for free (like YouTube without ads).
What makes this all possible is the blockchain technology developed by the creator of Bitcoin. Do you have to understand any of this to use and enjoy LBRY? No. Does it still matter to users? Yes!
Source: https://lbry.io/faq/what-is-lbryTheir app is still in beta (I think) but I've not encountered any major bugs. https://lbry.io/get

@max I appreciate your honesty! I know it's very frustrating to see the same stuff over and over again in the meta section. Maybe I shouldn't have made this thread, but on the other hand I still think it's good to focus on one section at a time. Just to clean up all the 'legacy' crap that's been around for a while. Check out this thread Theymos made: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3292413.0It shows that there aren't that many people who report stuff (at least in P & S), so a little call to arms might have some benefits ;-)

There is only one moderator working on 5 different boards. he could only handle the reports if there are any. forum members should compete on reporting garbage posts and become a moderator. you could get $2500 per month as a moderator and if the forum earns more, you'd get more.
Yeah that's a pretty good concern you mention, I do wonder if mprep could handle an increase in reports. The whole altcoin section could really use another moderator. At the current pace, this seems impossible to handle by just one person.

The whole forum needs a clean up you think people are only spamming in altcoin or politics I think we should take the initiative to clean up all the sections all admin has to do is have active moderators which most of them instead of quoting the post and taking screenshot spend a little extra time and report them. I'm completely aware reporting doesn't add up to your signature campaign and making posts like these does but wr seriously don't need members making different threads that this section has spam theymos should do something
Well, I am reporting those threads and I do agree that the whole forum needs a clean up. But I think it's a good idea to tackle each section separately and focus on cleaning up those massive threads that have been around for a while. With just a few members helping out with reporting, I think we can make a difference. FYI: Posting in the meta section doesn't earn me any rewards in my signature campaign, I do not get paid for posting here. Edit: Edit : After seeing your post history i understood why you only referred the altcoin section to be cleared ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Reference : If it's such a problem and cause of stress, I would just stop checking the price altogether. There's a better option in that case, if you still don't want to miss major price drops or increases. You should find yourself a good customizable alert app that warns you when the price goes under or over a certain level. Here's an open source one that will either send you an e-mail or a text: https://coinwink.com/I do not see anything wrong with that response, it was a direct solution to OP's problem and no-one had suggested a solution like this in that particular thread. Plus, I don't mind promoting a handy open-source app.

A while back Theymos made a thread about cleaning up Politics & Society, which was a very good call IMO. Another section that is in desperate need of a thorough clean-up would be 'Altcoin Discussion'. Most of the threads there would basically need to get moved to 'Speculation (Altcoins)'. Why?Description of 'Speculation (Altcoins)' in the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQSpeculation (Altcoins) - Discussion about altcoin prices. This includes discussion about portfolios ("what altcoins are you holding?"), price predictions ("is coin X going to reach 10$ next week?" or "why is this coin's price so low?") and general speculation ("are the altcoin markets crashing?"). I'd say that most of the threads in Altcoin Discussion are actually speculation threads or topics related to asking about people's portfolio. I'm personally going to spend some time reporting the threads that need to be either moved to another section or threads that are just of low quality. Maybe some other members can join the effort. It's time for a good spring cleaning, so if you live in the northern hemisphere, now is the perfect time for that! Just a screenshot to illustrate my point (please don't quote the image): ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FSYHUGHIl.png&t=663&c=iDuk6xAsFodDfQ)

1.4 thousand subs is nothing for Youtube. Get 50+ thousand, than you can start offering your promo services.
The number of subs is really not what matters, it's the number of views he gets an average for new videos. Anyway, OP you should make a thread in the services section and at least give out some more detailed information about your Youtube channel. I have no idea why you wouldn't want to share your Youtube channel publicly... You're a Youtuber, you benefit from promoting your Youtube channel. Not wanting to share it publicly seems a bit shady to me.

Small update: I've changed the description of Swift, the old description was pretty bad and just something I had found directly on their home page. Now I've updated it to some info that I found in their FAQ.
Also added some additional links in my sources and will continue to add crypto-UBI related links in the future.

In this case, you can just report the post, it'll get removed eventually by one of the moderators. If we start to make threads for every one of these posts, we would see about 1000 new threads in the meta section every day ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) (okay I might be exaggerating a bit, but you get the point) If it's something that requires lots of additional explaining, then it might be a good idea to post it here in the meta section. Example: If you see someone abusing merit system and want to provide lots of proof Same as above but with copy/paste etc.

This is probably not going to happens any time soon, but I do really believe that many financial institutions are going to have a really hard time in the future if they do not adapt. I've always really like the catchphrase "Be Your Own Bank", that sums up my thoughts perfectly.
This isn't going to happen suddenly of course, but I reckon we'll see people abandoning traditional banks some day in the far away future. Maybe not directly because of Bitcoin, but likely because of something that's inspired by Bitcoin.

Don't listen to anyone's investment advice and do your own research. You don't want the success of your investment to be dependent on what strangers on the internet say. Start by learning what Bitcoin actually is, once you've done that, you can start learning about other cryptocurrencies. I know this probably isn't what you want to hear... You probably want someone to tell you how to invest an in which coin you should invest, but that's just a plain bad idea. The Bitcoin Wikipedia page actually has some really good information about Bitcoin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitcoinAnother great resource is the Bitcoin wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page

I really wonder why the comparison to tulip mania always pops up in discussions like these, as though Bitcoin has absolutely no real-world value. I mean, here you have a professor of economics who appears not to have done any basic research on the underlying technology of Bitcoin.
Just gets a bit old reading the same shit over and over again, especially when it's so easily dis-proven.

Probably, now the ICO opens up a lot, many tokens are born, they give people a better value than Bitcoin. Therefore, Bitcoin's market share is very high. Probably Bitcoin prices will not be as high as in previous years.
They give better value than Bitcoin, you say? Yeah sure, just like gambling in a casino could give you a better value than buying Bitcoin. The majority of ICO's are never going to give anyone a profit, the whole scene is just one massive shit-show for the most part. For every decent ICO, you have about 10 or more that are just plain scams/bad investments/etc.

There's something I've noticed when I visit Crypto-Games, I'm wondering if the issue is with me or the website itself. For the past couple of days, every time I try to visit CG, the page keeps loading and repeating the smiley animation; whereas you used to see the smiley animation once and then immediately got redirected to the page.
Now, I do eventually manage to get the page loaded, but only after like a minute or so. Just wondering what this issue might be, I've tried clearing my cache and switching to a different connection, but the issue persists.
Huh, nobody reported this (so far ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ), but can you record network window in chrome browser and send printscreen? It happens sporadically, I will remember to record the network window when it happens again. What I do remember is that it's having trouble connecting to one of your servers (I see the browser trying to connect to a Curacao gaming server) after being stuck on 'performing TLS handshake'. Looking a bit further into this, it might be an issue with Firefox. Will try to reproduce this in Chrome though.

Yes, but they have actually looked into it and have done some research through some sort of survey, I think. Barclays has so far only done a preliminary assessment of demand and feasibility, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information isn’t public. The bank said Monday it currently has no concrete plans to start such an operation.
source: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-16/barclays-is-said-to-be-sounding-out-clients-about-trading-cryptoSo, I think it's fair to say that they do have an interest in it, but it will depend on possible demand for the service whether they will implement it or not.

That's just on LocalBitcoins... Is that the only exchange people from Venezuela can use or do they also have access to other exchanges (without using a VPN)? Also checked their volume on Paxful, but that's negligible and not up-to-date it seems. I sense a major bull run coming in the next couple of weeks/months ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)
