nobody was notified and it was only pointed out by one customer so fluffy didn't care to fix this issue he kept it hidden and let it "slide" by but in reality fluffy is a sneaky bastard! he knows how many people got screwed over waiting for a damn shipment.. shit comes from CHINA damn quicker and comes 4 times in a month before one package arrives from SO in 2 months... unreal

why the fuck would you not send it back with the delivery person? but nah Ill just brag I got someones order.. fool

You need to step off, son. By your own admission you haven't even purchased from us.
2042  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] OpenRigs.com - Aluminium Frames for Mining Rigs on: February 15, 2014, 04:23:12 AM

That's just outstanding. I don't order stuff from international locations very often, but I must say I feel like plastering multiple stamp books to a box seems a little unorthodox and is something I have never seen. When I order from china they just use labels.

Also, I'm a little concerned that you received an extra package. That means some other patient customer is getting @$#!ed.

Will be mailing it off to the other patient customer tomorrow. Sucks to wait a few extra days, but best I can do.

That's nice of you Zoella. How did you figure out who to send it to?

Because the address is on the box - so quite why USPS delivered it to a different person with a different address is quite beyond me...

Ah - just read Zoella's pm, the waybill was incorrect - must've been swapped or something else went screwy. Thank goodness for address labels, plus the invoice was there with the shipping address:)

Another week, no update, no delivery.

Just checked up on it - surface mail is REALLY slow, and it looks like this parcel is waiting for a vessel to the UK.

All the time they spent putting a hundred stamps on the box they could have packaged a handful of more items for delivery  Shocked

LOL - I've got a meeting at one of the hubs on Thursday, I'm going to tell them that and see what they say;)

Fluffy,

I do appreciate your response but if a company makes a mistake for instance in labeling something or advertising something at a different price etc. That company normally would then bite the bullet and ship/sell said item the way that was advertised. What should of been done is your company should of shipped these packages as AirMail if you had been aware of the problem. I myself own a business outside of cryptocoins and I can completely understand not wanting to loose money on half of the orders I take but if I screwed up and put something up at the wrong price, the wrong shipping speed, or whatever else I could of done wrong. I would then honor whatever mistakes I made. I knew that I could potentially be waiting 3-4 weeks for my package to arrive. It has now been over 4 weeks without a tracking update which is just crazy and honestly I'm surprised you even offer surface mail because I had read that it can take 10-14 weeks not 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for your time and response I appreciate it.

Josh

I agree with you 100%, and I wish we'd picked up on it sooner. Unfortunately you were the first to notice, and by then it was too late - we'd already shipped all the affected parcels. On the flip side, I'd love to be able to offer a refund, but our margins are thin thin, and we'd end up going poof in one swoop. If we'd been around for a bit longer and had cash on hand to buffer us I would refund without hesitation. I'd also love to be able to offer a refund and then we can just be repaid once the person has received it and either flipped it on eBay or decided to keep it - but there's always going to be a douchenozzle in the group that takes advantage of it and never repays:/

I do appreciate what your saying. I honestly don't even care about the money of the frame. I see what you are saying but honestly I'm not concerned about the fact that I might of gotten "scammed" I am actually just really annoyed because I really really really wanted to get the frame. I needed the frame it was almost like someone had finally built exactly what I needed and was looking for. I don't really care if I lost the hundred dollars its honestly not that much money at risk.

If I was to place another order and pay for the faster shipping would you yourself make sure it was escalated and produced faster seeing as I am currently still waiting on my first order?

Absolutely - just pm me your new order number and I will make sure it gets sorted ASAP to make up for it:)

Yes and I paid for what was classified as Air Mail Insured when I purchased the item. I understand its not your fault that Surface mail takes so long but I in no way shape or form KNEW that I was going to be getting surface mail. I honestly didn't even pay that close of attention but when I did do the order I know it said Air Mail Insured and so does my receipt. I had assumed that mine was coming via AIR some way shape or form. If I would of known that I would be sitting around in February talking about how I never received my order and still haven't seen a tracking update I would of PAID for the upgraded shipping that wasn't even available at the time. That is all that frustrates me is that if I was aware I was getting surface mail I would of paid for the more expensive one. I was aware that I would be receiving Air Mail Insured which I didn't receive.

Josh

Sure - and I can understand your frustration. However, when you purchased there were only two options: Surface Mail (which I understand was mistakenly labelled by the system as Air Mail on the front-end) and EMS. We didn't have a third or fourth option. We added Air Mail as a separate option on December 15th, and added Aramex once we confirmed pricing on the 23rd of December. So whilst I sympathise with you and I wish there was something I could do to make you receive it faster, on a list of two shipping options you did choose the cheaper and slower one, the incorrect label notwithstanding.

That really does piss me off that somehow yours got to you before mine did lol I was in the 700 orders also #722 to be exact. Yours was 1000+ and yours arrived in the USA before mine. Very shocking in all honesty and quite disappointed. I really don't know if I should just ask for a refund or keep waiting especially after hearing this.

He paid for EMS:)
2051  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] OpenRigs.com - Aluminium Frames for Mining Rigs on: February 07, 2014, 02:25:18 PM
Of course. I should just wait 6 hours before I post anything! Saw that update, awesome!

We're doing Kruger for a couple weeks (and Mabalingwe Nature Reserve). Not sure if we'll get down to the south. Checking out Fodor's though, and the Garden Route looks amazing. Was going to spend a week in EU first to avoid a 17 hour straight flight, but that's a tempting alternative.

Kruger and Mabalingwe are both amazing, and August is a good time as it's not too arid and the summer rains should have put some water in the watering holes.

If you want an alternative to the EU trip, a lot of people go from Kruger to Durban and then drive a rental car from Durban down the coast, through the Garden Route, all the way to Cape Town. You can do the trip in like 2 or 3 days in a rush, but if you're taking your time a week is perfect. You can go Durban -> Mthatha -> East London -> Grahamstown -> Knysna -> Cape Town, the trips between each town are pretty short except Knysna to Cape Town that's about a 5.5 hour drive. I would definitely apportion more time around the Knysna/Plettenberg Bay area than anywhere else, because there's so much to do (Knysna elephant park, Bloukrans Bridge - the world's highest bridge bungee, Jukani big cat sanctuary, the Knysna Heads, the Big Tree at Woodville, canoeing up the river at the Tsitsikamma National Park). From Cape Town you can either catch a cheap local flight (Kulula or Mango) before flying out, or just change your flight to Cape Town if it's cheaper.

Also, we have friends round the corner from us that operate a guest house - I can chat and get you decent rates if you're keen.

I'll be in SA come August. If my rigs have not arrived by then I'm going to have some rather impolite words for the postal crews!

EDIT:
Oh crap. I thought my shipment had left the country as globaltracktrace shows it being "on route". SAPost site show "bag out" on 2/5. They day after the strike. The article you linked says the Johannesburg location on a 7 day delay. Any idea if mine made it on a plane before all this (#1222)?

Yours arrived in New York yesterday: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action?tRef=qt&tLc=1&tLabels=EE025674989ZA

BOOM - customs pre-clearance + EMS = win!

If you're going to be in SA in August you should seriously pop through the Garden Route and come visit. We'll grab lunch and talk shop!

Hi, I have order #1221. Can it be that South Africa customs are a real problem?
Please explain them that the stuff is actually leaving the country - so one thing less to worry about!

They're not the issue at the moment - I'm contending with this nonsense:

http://www.iol.co.za/business/companies/postal-workers-lay-down-tools-as-strikes-spread-1.1640111

http://www.postoffice.co.za/group/pressreleases/strike27jan14update3.html

Needless to say I've been greasing some palms (it's the way business is done in Africa) to keep the parcels flowing as best we can:)

I understand that logic is hard, which is why we endeavour to be as clear as possible with our updates. We even have a pretty flowchart on our delivery and returns policy for people that don't like to read: https://openrigs.com/information/information&information_id=6

That is a pretty flowchart!

Maybe you should add a series of pop-up boxes when a US customer is selecting surface mail as their shipping option.

"Are you sure?  This could take more than 6 weeks to be delivered to you!"

Then if they click yes, have one more.

"I noticed your address is from the USA.  6 weeks is 42 days, and it might take even longer than that.  Just to SHIP.  This doesn't factor in fabrication time and customs checks. "

Then if they click yes again.

"Alright, shipping via Surface Mail.  Your package should arrive within 2-3 months.  Don't complain.  You chose this method."

Grin

"Are you sure?"

"Are you sure you're sure?"

"I don't believe you're sure...are you 100%?"

"Ok just to check you're 100% sure, what's the square root of -37.517? In your head, no calculators!"

Ordered 3rd December - was supposed to be sent till 24th December,

email from 23th December
Quote
Order ID: 850
Date Ordered: 03/12/2013

Your order has been updated to the following status:
Shipped, pending customs check

The comments for your order are:

Off it goes! Customs will now do a little x-ray (or whatever they do there) and a paperwork check to make sure all is in order. Once that's done we'll be given tracking numbers, which we'll send on to you within the next couple of days at the most:)

opened a ticket since there was no information about any delivery on 18th January, asking about any news...

got auto message 2 days later, on 20th January

Shipped to customer

The comments for your order are:

We've gotten your tracking number back from customs, and your parcel is on its way to you:)

What i for sure see, is that they NEVER sent it on 23th December

23.01.2014 14:39   Arrival at outward office of exchange   CAPETOWN D
29.01.2014 11:36   Departure from outward office of exchange   CAPETOWN D

but a month later,  this is just stupid - hope they fail hard - do not purchase there

Customs pre-clearance events wouldn't show up for a tracking number, hence the "Once that's done we'll be given tracking numbers" bit in the update...how could it when it doesn't have a tracking number until customs is done with it. Additionally, the post office warehousing the parcel whilst they wait for a vessel to become available wouldn't show up.

I understand that logic is hard, which is why we endeavour to be as clear as possible with our updates. We even have a pretty flowchart on our delivery and returns policy for people that don't like to read: https://openrigs.com/information/information&information_id=6

Hello, just thought I'd ask here, since I've been patiently waiting for a ticket (WPV-UJHNQ-923) response for a week now. I'm curious about how the HDD tray is implemented into the frame, and how much would it be to add it to my order.

Thanks  Smiley

Meh - looks like the trays are still 3-4 weeks out, ordered the batch on Jan 19th. Slow shipping from China this time of year because of Chinese New Years.

Ah sorry - that's my fault, the ticket was assigned to me and I've been waiting to confirm when our stock of trays is arriving:) We can ship the try with screws, but without pre-drilled holes for it, which is what we're going to do for customers that want to retrofit it to their orders. Once the new trays arrive I'll be able to confirm where the pre-drilled holes will be, but we're going to aim for between-the-motherboard-and-PSU I think.

I am also in Europe and looking to order but from what I am reading this is taking too long

It is 100% down to the shipping method selected. EMS deliveries are happening thick and fast everywhere around the world, e.g.:

Did we all just get screwed? Order #885 in the US placed on 12/4 - last status was that it is some bagged state

1   Comment   2014/01/14   12:11   CAPEMAIL INTERNATIONAL (HUB)   Insert item into bag Out
2   In transit   2014/01/11   01:48   CAPEMAIL (HUB)
3   Item accepted by branch   2014/01/10   10:23   PLETTENBERGBAAI
4   In transit   2014/01/08   17:39   GEORGE (HUB)

A support ticket has been created for you: OSO-AXUME-590 - no response since Monday of this week.

Is there any way to get better viability into what is going on here?

Just checked on that ticket - there was a response on Wednesday that it was being escalated to the logistics manager, and it's in his pile of things to look at today. The two new tickets you just added to the system will likely be closed as duplicates by the support staff.

I know you received an older email with tracking info, but we now add a bit more info to it - here is the relevant bit that wasn't on yours: "Once you see the line item that says 'Insert item into bag out' you will no longer be able to track the parcel domestically, as it will have left the country. To track your parcel thereafter, please use UPU's Global Track & Trace portal, located here: http://globaltracktrace.ptc.post/gtt.web/"
