Flying Hellfish was mod before Welsh who appeared in ~July 2018 (like me, but I think I was appointed mod after Welsh).
Mole0815 appears in January 2020. And no new mods since.
Thanks for breaking sweat to explain this. We learn everyday. So, in that order, Flying Hellfish was even the oldest employed among them. Now I know this. Moving forward, I like to know what became of the user. They've been inactive for over a year now. Well, I sincerely hope they're ok. It's the same way I noticed TMAN has been inactive too (but) for a longer period.

Did this account change hands or did you suddenly have amnesia?
I think you've started since last year and have reached a good stage of investment experience.
Good one. I was so sure I had read something of that nature where the said user encouraged others to make use of cryptos for payment, and now they suddenly turn to ask what cryptocurrency is, like they lost their mojo? That's ludicrous, to say the least. Either what you suspected of accounts changing hands happened or the user is merely seeking idle conversation.
2064  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Christmas Charity Programme on: December 06, 2022, 07:33:14 PM
OP should realize that no matter how noble they think their suggestion is, there are going to be users who won't make a head or tail out of it. They won't see reason with such a suggestion and this is because what tickles your fantasy is likely not what tickles others. Different strokes for different folks, they say. You bring in such thought, be sure to implement same during other religious festivals too, like that for the Muslims, Hindus, Krishna, Vegans etc. Otherwise, you would be accused of partiality. You see what I mean now? Just to remind you that in the recent past there were charity programmes ran by members here and the reports are documented. You could make your suggestion better by not tying it to the Xmas festivity. Those who don't celebrate Xmas won't see the need for an event tied to it. I'm one of those.

1. Just make sure you don't report something you have already reported.
Is there a repercussion if that happened?

~snipped~
I always thought mole0815 was appointed long before you LOL
I'm sure Flying Hellfish was the last mod added as the process that led to their employment was advertised. I guess that should be in 2019 or so, can't be sure of the date any more. I ain't sure mole0815 or Welsh got in after 2019. Well, sadly I don't know what became of the user. I haven't seen more of them online. I just checked their profile now and the dude was last active on July 13, 2021.

Let me quickly share a related experience to this topic I had a few days ago. It was a random female user on telegram (that was the claim but I knew it was a male at the other end) who tried talking me into a passive mining engagement. I blatantly told him it was a set up but he wouldn't give up. He continued talking to me until I feigned interest and obliged him. The mining app was a Tronlink wallet for me to download on playstore since I use an Android phone. I already had one, so I opened a new account on the one I already had and told him I was set. The next thing was a mining link he sent. It was a suspicious one and then I reminded him of what I thought about what he was trying to lead me into.

I'm sharing this here so that newbies will understand that these scams come in different formats. See my chat with the said user. Be wise, newbies. No free money anywhere online. I had to blank out part of the link so users won't be tempted to copy it out. Take a look at the url, there's nothing related to Tronlink in there. I'm cocksure if I had clicked on it it would've directed me to a scam. Besides, read carefully how he denied knowing anything called malware. In this time and age, does anyone online not know what is malware let alone someone who claims he has a mining gig. It's a red flag when people deny knowing a popular thing you accuse them of.

2067  Other / Meta / Re: Prevent Multiple Bitcointalk Login on: December 06, 2022, 04:54:24 PM
You've got all you need to safeguard your account. The major issue with online users is that most of us are often laggard when it comes to issue of cyber security. Form the habit of putting a password on every device you use for online stuff, PCs and phones. You never can tell when incidence of theft or misplacement will happen and into whose hand it gets to. With password on your device, it will be difficult for anyone to have unhindered access to your data without first flashing it. Again, for whatsoever reason, desist from the habit of storing passwords and login details on your devices. Write them out offline. Finally, stake your wallet address on the forum. It's important in helping restore a hacked or lost account. In case you haven't done that. Here's the link – Stake your Bitcoin address here
2068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Can Make Money In Crypto? on: December 06, 2022, 03:52:34 PM
If you are thinking to earn free money. So I think this is not easy.
Yes the airdrops give much money sometimes. But it is not frequently or not a passive income. If you want to earn passive income you should learn about trading first and than you should introduce it to your community.
That was in the past when airdrops made so many people good money, not anymore now. In fact, this day be sure to get malware from links you will click while hunting airdrops. I don't encourage anyone to indulge it. Talking about trading, how do you earn passively on it when we all know that trading is an active engagement?

Quote
And there is one more option that is staking. Staking does not give big money but this can help or a passive income source. And by this method you can hold coins or tokens too. But in the selection of coin/token choose wisely. Smiley
I hope you also know that you can lose your staked tokens and coins too if the site decides to go rogue 🤔

All that you've pointed out there practically has to do more with the blockchain than Bitcoin itself. I'm referring to the transparency nature of it. Whatever happens on the chain stays true and can't be tampered with. Everyone can view transactions across board from anywhere. Again, I'm one of those who believe that the activities of traders have helped Bitcoin growth and price more than that of hodlers. So, you don't have to vilify traders by calling out weak hands. They're there for a purpose and that is to enhance usage.
2070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share your Crypto experience. on: December 06, 2022, 10:34:38 AM
I have now been investing in Crypto for 10 months and its been a test of patience thats for sure, feel like I have entered in a bad year with lots going on causing these bad times and low prices we are currently seeing.
Nope, you didn't come in a bad year. It's just that you got in too early. 10 months ago would be around Jan. Price was still high then compared to what it's at the present moment. However, now is a great time to get into cryptos when it seems the tokens have taken severe beatings and what remains is for them to start surging.

Quote
My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away. I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.
If what you're hodling is Bitcoin, you don't have to worry or panic. Just keep hodling. However, if otherwise you may want to consider mitigating your losses now by reviewing and discarding those without any use-case. Cut your loss short on them.

you can still lose your coins if ever you misplaced your private keys or the wallet provider that you use can still scam you or they can get bankrupt if ever you are using a custodial one.
It even transcends using a custodial wallet as many users will think it's only about exchange wallets alone. That's not completely true. Closed source wallets which are private wallets and you've the passphrases (and think you control the wallet) also have that issue. A few of this close source wallet type have been mentioned here in the recent past.
2072  Other / Meta / Re: Auto-correct will improve communication on BTT on: December 06, 2022, 07:37:24 AM
Wait until computer/keyboard makes an autocorrect of your words that changes the word completely from what it's intended and gets you into trouble with a boss. Until it happens, you won't know there's another side of explanation to needless content. Again, form the habit of always previewing your comments before hitting the post tab like LoyceV added. Every wrongly spelt word has a red underline (even on phone) and that should alert you to make corrections.
2073  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Shall we create a small chat room to communicate? on: December 05, 2022, 10:28:29 PM
We already have a discord server and many just prefer the website itself.
That's true. I had a peep into the discord server and it was rowdy for me, and too fast with responses that one struggles to keep up with that, joggling between reading and comprehension before the next batch of messages are released. I prefer it here in this forum.
2074  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Day Trading on: December 05, 2022, 09:45:41 PM
And yes, I burnt my entire account.
Aha! Welcome to the club. However, you shall not be granted full membership yet untill you rinse and repeat same experience twice or three times more 😆. There isn't anybody worth their game in trading who didn't pass through that. Don't despair.

It wasn't much, only like 50$, but I realized that it's not that easy as it might look like. Of course, I was using high leverage 20-50x.
I don't know how that's even possible on such a small account of $50. The exchange I use won't allow you go up to 15x on such a small account.

Quote
Basically I try to learn leverage trading 10-20x, I know some of you might say it's pointless to use leverage, but it's not about that.
You're exposing yourself unnecessarily with that high pitch leverage on a small account. You're seeing trading as a shortcut to riches while it's not so. Reduce your greed level and trade responsibly.

This whole thread is about something else.
Oh, really? I see 🕶️
2075  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can someone teach me where have High Return Invest Program on: December 05, 2022, 08:30:55 PM
wtf is this topic, it has a question as title and only spams after!? people like not even carying about it and just spamming with idiotic messages about how to invest/trade, wtf.
Yes, the title is supposed to come with a question mark but for whatsoever reason that OP left it out we can't say. However, I don't know what your idea of "spamming" is but I think users are trying to proffer solutions to the issue OP raised. The only problem I see here is the lack of feedback from OP on whether they're following the responses or not as they haven't commented again here. In all, most of the posters here are speaking in one direction but with different shades of blue. Is that what you consider spamming?
2076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should be my fear? on: December 05, 2022, 07:51:08 PM
Your greatest fear should be losing access to your wallet. Of course, you should be using a wallet you've the Pkey since you intend to hodl, knowing that if you don't have the private key (Pkey), the wallet shouldn't be deemed yours. Losing access to my wallet used to be of nagging concern to me during my noob days. On the price, buying now should be seen as you getting a discount from Satoshi himself. This price level of $16k is a very fair one. Even if price dips below it now after you've bought, don't worry you got in at a good place. Next halving will expectedly push Bitcoin price above the last ATH.
2077  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I right or wrong on: December 05, 2022, 06:24:05 PM
You can't confuse me that the government aren't buying Bitcoin too
But of course, the two-faced hypocrites are insidiously buying it. They may not come to the open to do it, either as a government body or as their individual officials. At the peak of Bitcoin ban in my country, one of the top government officials (the Attorney General of my country) was caught using a Kucoin exchange. There is much pretence with what people are in public and what they truly are in their private chambers. So, take advantage of this period and DCA on Bitcoin now. Tomorrow may not present us an opportunity.
2078  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The patience to hold is a gift on: December 05, 2022, 01:34:30 PM
My few years of trading experience has taught me that the expression, "No hurry in life" isn't just a mere saying. There's much wisdom in that simple expression. It's in this industry that one finds out the virtue in patience and waiting. Those who bought at the last ATH of $68k+ will definitely be counting their loses that is a repercussion for not waiting for price correction while it was surging last year. It is even worse for those who couldn't exercise patience to wait for recovery and have sold off before now (surely, it must return to $64k and even surpass it). The whole idea is to hodl till the next circle, otherwise one loses out on maximum profit. Those who will pay more in regrets and primum tears are those who aren't utilizing this price discount now to buy cheap.
2079  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when trading gives you heart problem. on: December 04, 2022, 11:28:14 AM
Apparently, trading is stressful and might kill you if you can't manage to handle your stress.
If we are in this situation, we have to urge ourselves to stop and move on. We just think that this is not the right place for us. Of course, we can still be a part of its journey and earn some profit in another way like being a casual investor (long-term).

We don't just think about earning money but also we have to consider our health as well as it was just nothing if we passed away already.
We really don't have to see trading in that light. It's an enjoyable exercise if only those in it won't judge it as a shortcut to riches and by so doing over labour themselves by over investing. The simple caveat is, "never invest cash you can't afford to lose". For instance, someone who has $20k and invests $200 and loses it won't feel the same pressure like one with the same capital that invests $2k. The investor in the first scenario will just brush past their loss and move on quickly unlike the latter.
2080  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why everybody is panicking ? Its a game of greed and fear ! on: December 04, 2022, 10:54:23 AM
~snipped~
as there will always be people which invested too much money, which need to sell due to some emergency or simply they are afraid the price could crash even further
This is why anybody in this industry who've had a little understanding of how it works through an experience of a complete Bitcoin circle will tell you it's not a wise thing to invest with cash you will miss. The simple logic there is to just invest the cash and move on like you never invested anything at all. Bury the money and wait patiently for the harvest season. To many, that's a hard thing to do because they want to see their investments grow daily. That isn't how investment works (at least, not so in this industry).
