2141  Other / Off-topic / Re: Higher education, is it so important? on: February 26, 2021, 10:20:12 AM
As others have pointed out, those with higher degrees fare better in their salary than anyone else. It can be likened to a pyramid, really, bottom of it is the unskilled workers and the apex forms the very small cross-section of people who hold a Ph.D in their respective fields of study.

No matter how you slice it, higher-degree professionals are always, always in demand in the market. Topping the list is the medical profession, which is what I'm majoring in right now (3rd year med student). But I don't know if I'm passionate about this field like I used to in the beginning, and thoughts of dropping out are crossing my mind. The body and mind are able, but the spirit is unwilling, as they say. The motivation to study isn't there anymore.

I lived in a place where those who didn't attain the higher education in established schools tend to do better than those  with higher education in established schools.  They are talented businessmen, and do go as far as making things like car parts, shoes, cars,  etc.
The ones with higher education from established schools  struggle to make things or compete with the ones without . I don't know about now though but things appear not to have changed much from my observation
2142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without experience and knowledge on: February 25, 2021, 06:09:16 PM
Guess you want a trading signal that works for anyone without experience and knowledge? Well, I think something that is possible but I'm not sure if it exist.

You could however trade by yourself without the signal, experience and knowledge, but you'll likely not make consistent profits unless maybe you gain enough experience/knowledge while trading.  I would advice you take very little risk while trading to learn from experience.
2143  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: What is the most secure device to store Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2021, 04:29:30 PM
The most secure way is to store bitcoin is to learn programming, cryptography and make your own wallet  Grin

Or probably just develop your own program and encryption system no one has developed before or will easily understand.
And I wouldn't consider a hardware wallet that isn't open-source/transparent as most the most secure to store Bitcoin.
2144  Other / Off-topic / Re: Here is an idea how you are part of the "Matrix" on: February 25, 2021, 03:44:52 PM
Those words were written almost a century after Jesus God was raised back to life, as well, and many times before the century and after the century.

So a man had children, they had children, they had children, and finally they had children.  No one has ever talked about it.  Then everyone remembers with such detail

That's how you know you're in the matrix.  Come join us.  Smiley

The idea of a State is really a State of mind. Words are written down in such a way that they will convey the same meaning about this State of mind to whomever reads the words. Surveyors make physical surveys of the land. It is done in such a way that only massive land upheavals could disrupt the knowledge of where the State borders really are. States, including their borders, are States of mind that have been written down to remain accurate.

Believers must not feed from the tree of knowledge of good and evil else they die spiritual. It's important to totally detach oneself from the so called knowledge in order to remain alive and strong both spiritually and physically.

I have noticed myself getting weakened and almost *dead* after consuming lots of worldly information that tend to contradict the word of GOD even though I try not to believe them. It doesn't matter how little the contradiction is. Imagine it as an evil seed that could grow to become a tree if believed and not destroyed.
2145  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook agrees to makes payments to Australia on: February 25, 2021, 03:02:35 PM
Never knew the government and the social media could dictate to the media where/how to operate and serve their customers to the extent of preventing them from doing their jobs on the social media. Thought they are supposed to be independent. The whole event kind of make things seem like they aren't that independent.
By the way, I wondered if that affected the whole media in the country or just the mainstream media?
2146  Other / Off-topic / Re: Here is an idea how you are part of the "Matrix" on: February 25, 2021, 02:15:43 PM
Currently, people who work for the system  are working intentionally/unintentional to hand full control of earth over to the one who controls the matrix. You are helping satan take full control of our world by your deeds, actions, inaction.

People don't really like the sound of it but we are all part of the system or work for the system. What do you suggest so that we are not part of the system? To give up on life?

Break free and join the Good System.
The system of this world is ruled by an evil entity called satan. It's the kingdom darkness, while the Good System is ruled over by JESUS CHRIST. Once you repent from your old ways(sins) and believe in JESUS CHRIST, you will be broken free from the evil system and grafted to the Good one.  Once you are grafted to the new system, you will likely be visited constantly/occasionally by JESUS(and angels) and be told things that you must always believe and obey.
*once in the New System, you might find something like the Internet unnecessary because you will have a far more advanced way of communicating with the System and knowing things that should be known.

* It's important to note that the Good system has alot of Power over the evil system, so you have absolutely nothing to fear when you are in the Good system.
2147  Economy / Economics / Re: 'Cryptocurrency is not legitimate money,' says Nigeria's central bank governor on: February 25, 2021, 10:50:45 AM
You don't de-legitimize what a community choose to use as currency/money/token. It's already legitimate, it's just left for the bank to accept it.
I wonder what they will say to people who decide to start using or getting paid in stones, precious metals, rice, beans, bread, etc. Would he tell the people that what they choose to get paid with is "not legitimate"? By the way, free people should decide what they get paid with as long as they are safe to use. They seem to be deciding for those who consider crypto safer and more moral than their fiat currencies.
They should ensure that people use cryptocurrency safely without abuse/misuse.

2148  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whom do you call the Mother of this Child? on: February 25, 2021, 09:56:37 AM
I wouldn't want to completely trust/depend on DNA testing... that's why I included other methods for knowing who the real parents are. I have seen couple of articles about the flaws of DNA testing... not sure yet how true they are.
So, we have to be sure it's very reliable by maybe comparing it with other fairly reliable methods.
If things get complicated, I would choose the King Solomon method. It can be effective at revealing truths if the judge is GOD's servant.
Is that is so? there are scientific proof and basis that results would be good. It will go through the laboratory and the proper test that shall be conducted will make sure the relation of the child and the parent.

About the judgment of King Solomon, it could be another good method but what if both parents will act as the same?

You mean like the thief faking her emotion and pretending to want the child to be saved?
Assuming that's is what you mean, I will likely get them both to make great sacrifices for the child... probably by keeping the child safely in the middle of lion's den and tell them that whoever reaches the child first owns him/her. I will observe how they try to solve the problem to get to the child.

Or will simply continue to interview them and do certain things to know the truth and how much they care about the child.

By the way, it's GOD that will direct me on what to do and how to do it right. I wouldn't trust my methods and judgments without HIM guiding me.
2149  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any Second Life residents here? on: February 25, 2021, 09:20:29 AM
Just researching about it for the first time. The idea sounds interesting...
I think it's better to call something like that "virtual world" or a simulation rather than second life. Second life sound weird and could easily be abused esp to deceive people.
I wouldn't be surprised if in the future they deceive people into thinking virtual world is spiritual world or more advanced real existence... then people would be encouraged or forced to live in that existence, while their real world is in hell, in serious problems or in choas.
2150  Other / Off-topic / Re: Eating expired meats on: February 24, 2021, 05:05:38 PM
" Eating expired meat,🤔If you do eat a food past the expiration date [and the food] is spoiled, you could develop symptoms of food poisoning," said registered dietitian nutritionist Summer Yule, MS. The symptoms of foodborne illness can include fever, chills, stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting

Eating spoiled food is probably not a good idea. I would recommend to always smell and taste the food before eating, if it smells or taste wierd, don't eat it. The expiration dates on the packages are usually a minimum date for the companies to protect themself if anything goes wrong. Which doesn't mean that the food will be bad 1 day after the expiration date. And if you cook it, best to leave it a few more minutes in the pan just to be sure.

Ofcourse. Expired may not necessarily mean "spoiled". Those that just expired could still be worth eating in certain situations.
It probably wouldn't matter to someone starving to death with no good food to eat if the risk of starvation outweighs the risk of the food poisoning.

*What method would you recommend she use in proving ownership of the child?
With modern technology, DNA test is the only solution to know who's the real mother of the child. But if we're in the old ages, we need a mediator like King Solomon who had dealt with the same situation as what you've said.

With a DNA test, there will be a scientific basis who's the biological mother/parents of the child.

Ofcourse.
Solomon was a wise judge and his judgment quickly revealed the truth because GOD was with him. Wish people of today's world would completely depend on GOD for Just and quick judgment.

To determine who the real mother is, I'd  transparently & thorough investige/test the child's features(both physical & others features), compare them with both women(and their husbands/families) features to determine who the real mother really is. The means for testing the child has to be accurate and acceptable to both parties/women. The Processes, Rules, Examiners also have to be acceptable to both parties.. And these must not be changed without their consents.
People who have nothing to hide would allow/encourage a thorough investigation of the case. People who have something to hide won't allow this, or they will do it in ways that's unacceptable by either party.

The process is simply DNA testing.

It is what usually the procedure that I've seen with a situation like this in countless times. Investigating the physical appearance of the baby and comparing it to the possible biological mother is vague, IMHO.

I wouldn't want to completely trust/depend on DNA testing... that's why I included other methods for knowing who the real parents are. I have seen couple of articles about the flaws of DNA testing... not sure yet how true they are.

2152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Silk Road Film has been released - shows what happened on this forum 2 catch on: February 24, 2021, 03:37:07 PM

Took me 2-3 days to find enough spare time to complete watching this movie. I am impressed with the filmmakers for giving an accurate picture of Ross Ulbricht. Ross was not a drug peddler or a scammer. He never cared about money. All he wanted was to stand up for his Libertarian political beliefs and create marketplace where anything can be purchased anonymously. This is not the picture FBI want you to believe. The FBI want you to believe that Ross was a hardcore criminal, who wanted to flood the US with drugs.

I was worried that the movie would miss this important aspect of the “DPR persona”. Here’s an interview with him published in Forbes Magazine, https://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2013/08/14/an-interview-with-a-digital-drug-lord-the-silk-roads-dread-pirate-roberts-qa/?sh=6d2562b05732

He was a believer of a true free market, with very minimal state interference.

Quote

At it's core, Silk Road is a way to get around regulation from the state. If they say we can't buy and sell certain things, we'll do it anyway and suffer no abuse from them. But the state tries to control nearly every aspect of our lives, not just drug use. Anywhere they do that, there is an opportunity to live your life as you see fit despite their efforts.

I'm hesitant to specifically declare the direction we'll take next but let me give you a couple of examples. Firearms and ammunition are becoming more and more regulated and controlled in many parts of the world. We actually had a site up called "The Armory" at one point that specialized in the sale of small arms that ultimately was unsuccessful, but if we can find a model that works where people can get the equipment they need to defend themselves and their families despite what the state wants and often in defense of the state itself, I would be more than happy to provide that.
Also, any place the State places large tariffs or taxes, there is an opportunity to circumvent their blockades. Consumer electronics are much more expensive than they need to be in many parts of the world, for example.
...

I regards to the bolded part, I think there are certain places where the use of dangerous weapons should be limited or prevented.. places where there is high possibility of abuse of such weapons especially for mass killings/destructions and serious crimes. In places where they are allowed, the users should be willing to take responsibility for their misused/abused
By the way, I would prefer a society where non-lethal weapons that are as effective and fast as certain lethal weapons are mostly allowed.
2153  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the potential side effects of corporations selling fake crypto? on: February 24, 2021, 02:47:51 PM
If you see how Paypal sells their Crypto service, it seems as if this is part of a scam. Another possibility is that these are only the initial stages of maintenance which are still in progress. As long as no one feels cheated by their services, there is no accurate evidence regarding the fake crypto they are selling. The data is that Paypal users still feel safe and secure with the services provided by Paypal so that's enough so far.

PayPal is one of the most trusted payment processor out there, and it has been in existence since 1998. They operate as per US laws, and therefore the users don't need to worry that someone will take their money and vanish (similar to a lot many small sized exchanges have done in the cryptocurrency sector). The user functionality is limited right now, but I hope they will make full functions available to the users in the near future. For those who use exchanges such as Huobi and Kraken, there should be no issue in using PayPal. The risk involved is the same.

I think whatever law a cryptocurrency company follows should be in harmony with the good ideals/principles of true Cryptocurrency otherwise it could result to future problems for a decentralized cryptocurrency Network/System.

2154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 24, 2021, 10:39:12 AM
I reckon it does but it largely depends on the sport. Having knowledge of the game gives you some advantage and if not, well that's reality and fun side of sports betting.

Anyone who thinks they will make their way to an easy profit is on the wrong track to say the least. The key is to make small profit and at the same time learn the flow of sports betting.

My advice is to think of it as sports investing rather than sports betting. It may not be an instant benefit at the start, but likely it will make a great impact on proper mindset when it comes to sports betting.

Ofcourse. It's important to have the right knowledge & skills in order to be able to predict the outcome of matches right & consistently. Knowledge and skills can help a bettor win and earn consistently ...without them it will be hard to win consistently unless maybe you are cheating, getting helped by someone or something.

2155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is it with that? on: February 24, 2021, 09:47:30 AM
I used to experience similar thing... and i would assume it was deliberate or random. I think I found a way around it by being patient and buying up dips and selling gradually rather than everything, in anticipation of a continue rise in price in order to sell alittle more.
Try and plan your trade in a way that you benefit from any direction the market goes.
I would buy more and sell less for a more healthy market.

I remember reading a faboul I read about almost the same situation and how the King handles to resolve the case.

The King offers to Cut the Child so the 2 claimants ( Mother and the thief) will have equal share of the child .

But the real mother refuses and tell the king that She will give up the claim and will let the thief own the Child and so the king finds who the real mother is, because the real mother won't let Her child be hurt.

Interesting.
The bolded part actually helps solve part of the problem I'm trying to solve with my post. *The real mother gaveup power for the sake of a nation*. I believe she will get the child back.
2158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my bitcoin if I die today? on: February 23, 2021, 05:19:00 PM
If you will die unexpectedly then your assets or your bitcoin holding will surely to be lost especially if no one besides you knows your private keys or your login credentials if you are using an exchange as your means of storage.

The bitcoin will not be lost as it will not be burned even if it will not be used for many years so basically your bitcoin will remain stagnant in that wallet if you will die not unless there are hackers or an intervention to the wallet owners like they will confiscate your assets as they notice that you are not using it for a very long time already but this case is very rare to happen.

Using an exchange to make it as a primary or main storage of your coins is a quite dumb thing to be done on someone unless if you are an active trader which do make trades
and then you suddenly passed away then that would really be a problem if you havent tell them about your possesion.

When it comes to this situation then its always been ideal if you do at least tell, one member of your family which is most likely your wife about your holdings.
Nothing is assured on this life when it comes for us to die unexpectedly. If you do mind on passing up those coins as inheritance then its a must
thing to share up those keys but there are men who cant just afford to share up their keys to their wives while they are still alive.  Grin
I can relate to this on which it isnt really time for me to tell my private keys when it comes to my bitcoin holdings because chances that it would really be converted or cashed out will be high when my wife does really need some money and if she knows that if i do save up something in crypto then no doubt it would really be used for those kind of purposes thats why i havent told her about my holdings or savings but i made out some
instructions and guidelines on where my coins had been stored and steps that should do for them to able to get those coins and wont really be locked forever.
Its true that we wont know on what would happen tomorror, neither we do passed away and its much better to pass those coins rather than on losing it on void forever.

Probably inform them where to get your personal belongings incase you are no more without mentioning the Bitcoin. Chances are that they won't bother going through your stuff while you are still alive unless they know you have something very valuable in there.
I'll arrange things in a way that the coins  certainly get to them by surprise if I pass on before them.
2159  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never catch a falling knive on: February 23, 2021, 04:31:40 PM
The author gives us good advice. I read something similar in Jack Schwager's "market magicians". There one old trader advised to buy only the market where there were no more falling daggers left. More precisely, “when the last dagger stuck in the floor stops trembling,” then you need to buy. Otherwise, we risk cutting our hands. On the other hand, everything is determined by the position size.

People could safely catch the knife together with amount they can afford to risk/lose to avoid getting injured and prevent it from falling sharply to the floor.
I think they could catch the knife with something other than their flesh to avoid getting bloody hands.
2160  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Suggest me what to do now! on: February 23, 2021, 04:11:15 PM
In what currency is the $2k in? I would suggest you keep a big part of the fund in stablecoin and then focus more on using small part of it to gradually buy bitcoin whenever it dips significantly... you could sell to take profit if you want to. Just keep repeating (buy the dips) and  your funds will grow if you are patient enough.
