Thank you all for the suggestions, I do not see often and therefore do not have much experience Wink

To correct the screen will carry the miner and the pool, the miner will have start yesterday afternoon and now these are the stats:

Home Pool:
*snip pics*

That is good info, however do you have a Watt Meter you could see how much power they actually draw? Then you slap that as "at the wall", and mention which PSU efficiency you have.

Its not necessary for Ebay, probably, but it would be of interest to buyers, here.
2162  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My first miner! Where should I point it? on: November 22, 2015, 03:06:00 AM
Hi guys,

I just received my first miner - a USB sapphire.  I know it's pretty much useless nowadays, but the thing was $5...figured I might as well mess around and learn the ropes  Shocked

Where would be a good place to start mining (SHA256)?  Should I point the thing at whatever new shitcoin comes along & pray its value rises? Solo mine a less-shittier-shitcoin and hope to win big?  I've only successfully connected to LEAcoin, where the pool said I was hashing @ 900+ MH/s...when the miner was advertised @ 330MH/s  Huh

Thanks in advance for any help, I'm sure more questions will pop up here soon  Tongue

Sure, slush is good, go ahead with that. But don't expect to make much with this. Smiley

Don't do any altcoin, stick to BTC. It would be simpler too. Anyhow just keep in mind that it will take a very long time just to make it over the minimum dust payment threshold. And when you do there will be a fee of ... 100k satoshi, is it?
2163  Bitcoin / Mining support / Running AsicMiner Tube on CGMiner or BFGMiner? on: November 21, 2015, 09:55:09 PM
I tried CGMiner 3.1.1, 4.3.5, 4.8, 4.9, 4.9.2

I get dll error with 3.1.1, with 4.3.5 zeus support the miner is detected but hash at 10kh/s. It get detected as Blizzard but i can't change the clock, which is set at 2hz. With later version, i get USB not found/wrong driver, i tried all the drivers in Zadig.

I also tried BFGMiner, when i type errupter..etc COM#, the USB adapter light up, but BFG report no miner founds. I'm trying to run this on Windows 8.

Any help would be appreciated.
2164  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2 Bitcoin Miner SP 10 - Spoondolies-Tech 2.8 TH/s (Used) on: November 21, 2015, 08:04:54 PM

Its because you say 1.4TH/s and 0.58W/GH right next to one another, you took 2 unrelated values(First from the ASIC spec at full speed, and second from the Chip's spec at minimum voltage) and put them side by side. You took the chip's best spec next to the machine full's speed, not the machine's spec.

You mixed information in a way that make you look dirty.

To get even near to 0.58W/GH you would need to lose close to half the hashrate or vis versa, if you want 1.4TH/s you get nearly half the efficiency.

I know where you got it, it's straight from SPTech's specs page.  I'm just saying what these machines are actually capable of in the real world and that's what Tupsu was referring to.

I'd edit the listing, personally.  Otherwise you may just get someone who buys it, mines with it for a month or two, and then returns it for "not as described/inaccurate description" and eBay will side with them and force a return on you.

I usually prefer to list known actual real-world power consumption figures rather than manufacturer specs, just makes life easier and whoever buys from me knows what to really expect if they happen to not be as familiar with the hardware as I am.  I don't think you're trying to be intentionally deceptive.

Ok now I understand ..... provider and change the description on ebay, sorry for the confusion.

I still believe that the forum users know what we speak and I think they are able by themselves to understand the technical specifications and evaluate for yourself the offer, even with the support of the thread in the forum Wink

We generally do, however you could run into some problem, in the case where a malicious buyer took your deal, he could use the fact you mislabeled the device as proof that the product is not as described. He could mine with it for 2 months then force a full return on you.

Just like someone unaware could genuinely think he can get 1.4TH/s at 750watts, someone aware could use it against you. Even though i doubt you're malicious, i can't say the same for others.
2165  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S1: Can't connect to miner control panel on: November 21, 2015, 08:00:45 PM
I don't think it is a hardware problem, I think it is a network issue. I have the miners hooked up to the router, and i cant get on the panel from my computer.

If your computer is on the same subnet as the miners, they should work just fine. Also some miners, you might of received them set on static, on 1.99. If you're not in the 1.x subnet you wont be able to connect to them.

Its also possible the previous owner messed them up so you could try a reset, if you can't find them in the 1.x subnet.
2166  Other / Archival / Re: . on: November 21, 2015, 07:57:41 PM
I don't think you will ever get a sale here honestly. Those PSUs arent for mining. The Corsair and Thermaltake don't even have enough PCIe connectors.
The generic Dell looking one can never be used for mining.

I had similar PSUs as these in my GPU mining days. I just sold them on Craigslist for like $20-30.

You're right, to be honest, also in term of efficiency, but people come here to buy or sell computer components too, so maybe someone on a tight budget to build a PC would grab one. In that case it would not be a bad idea at all.

Computer hardware market place? Where is that?Is that a website?

The board. Its a child board of the marketplace, a board on this forum;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

Thats where i got most of my hardware.

2169  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Bitmain Antminer S5 on: November 21, 2015, 06:48:05 AM
Looking to buy and S5.  Just got scammed on ebay hoping to have better luck here.  PM me with price

Its impossible for a buyer to get scammed on eBay. That's what Paypal protection is for.

Its very easy to scam sellers on Ebay by how strong buyer protection is, even if the seller has proof of the buyer's wrong doing, Ebay will often side with the buyer regardless. So i'd like to know what you mean by scammed, because i'm pretty sure you can get your money back.
2170  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S5 - Underclock - Undervolt - Best J/GH on: November 21, 2015, 06:45:44 AM
My "brand new" S5 v1.91 is here, including a nice 80+ Gold PSU for my 1.3 to bring those consumption numbers down. I'll poke around with this and get some numbers on my 1.91.

Its very interesting to "poke around" i have 1.1, 1.3, 1.5 and 1.9 and 1.91 mixed in 4 S5 and oddly enough, i have no idea why, but they all cap at 393.75hz on high quality PSU, 375hz on lesser psu (Like gold raidmax)...

Except the 1.9, that one do 400hz with no HW, getting 1.32TH/s while all the other cap at 1.29~TH/s. I don't get it. And i suspect i could push it a bit further but i'll wait a little for the motivation to do further voltage testings. I dont get it because its not the PSU having higher voltage itself. When i swap PSU used by 2 S5, they still get the same hashrate/HWE%.

At least i know that EVGA G2 and GS have consistent top notch clean power, same with the server PSU's i got from Quakefiend.

I'd just like to understand why the 1.9, i assume, have higher core voltage than all the others. It is my only guess as to why it is stable at higher OC.
2171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S3 Setup [HD] on: November 21, 2015, 01:52:16 AM
I already have the Corsair AX-760 which is why i wanted to use it  Smiley

Then sure, get a watt meter, check at the wall what the draw is at, quick calculation would suggest you keep the draw at the wall at 670 or under to keep the load at 80%~ for maximum PSU life time. Then raise or lower the clock from there.

If the PSU has a long warranty, then knock yourself out up to 760-800Watts at the wall. Thats what i do with my EVGA G2's. Run them at the wall what their rating is, i mean. A bit higher sometimes.
2172  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is a good setup with an investment of $5000 - cheap electricity- on: November 21, 2015, 01:44:06 AM
Me too need help. I'm brand new in mining.

 Huh
I'm buyng a machine with 50TH/s 2200W complete and with OS to miner.
Someone can tell me is it so good to start?
My eletric energy has cost of €0,15 per kW/h.
The price of machine is $7.000, How many times I recover my investment?

Regards,

Tony

What machine is that? Sound like a scam as its nothing standard, also the price way to low to match the hashrate and also the efficiency sound like a lie. You should double check your things and give more information and probably start your own thread.

But really. I'm 99.9% sure its a scam.
2173  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I'm planning to buy 50 antminer s3, how to conditionate a room. on: November 21, 2015, 12:53:54 AM
500 seems like a fair price. What could be a fair price for the s7?

Thats a bit awkward to answer. The S7's are brand new, so people reselling them at the moment will be asking a big premium, so your best bet is to buy directly from Bitmain, but they don't have them on Hand, which is annoying.

The other awkward point is that there are 4THs, 4.66THs, 4.88THs and 5THs S7. The lowest they were purchasable for was 1200USD for 4TH/s and the most expensive was 1800 or 1900USD for 4.88TH/s.

Finally the S7 is almost 3 time as efficient as the S3/S4 so you should be ready to pay 25%-50% premium over what we agree is fair for the GH/s of a S4.

TLDR Good luck getting a S7 under 1500USD, still depending on which variant. But buying a S4 over what a S7's GH/$ would cost would be plain silly.

Your other Alternative is S5 for 300USD or less.
2174  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is Cryptsy about to fold over??? on: November 20, 2015, 09:14:23 PM
I withdrawed my ETH from a Cryptsy account in just a few hours. Accusation of Cryptsy withdrawals problem only rumors ?

No but the problem could be more specifically BTC related, at least thats where all my issue with Crypsty were. The few altcoins i traded at Crypsty, well they were slow to withdraw, but not a problem per se.
2175  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Earn bitcoins while doing your holiday shopping on: November 20, 2015, 09:12:48 PM
Yes, but not from the countries where they accept BTC. I think they only accept BTC in USA

Many online store accept BTC in Canada as well. NCIX, GMG, Newegg too, etc. So a lot of stores might extent to Canada, but i'm not sure this will be the same outside of North America.
2176  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S3 Setup [HD] on: November 20, 2015, 09:06:15 PM
What speeds would i have to run my S3+ at if i want to run two of them on one Corsair AX760 PSU ?

Doable ?

Not really, you'd be over 90% of the psu's rated capacity even with underclocked S3s.  It might work for a little while, but the psu is going to run hot and not be as efficient and probably burn out quickly.

He's actually okay, since the rated watt is not at the wall its how much it can feed.

A notch or two under stock would do it "to be safe". I think the best would be to get 850-1050 EVGA G2, personally i prefer the 7-10 years warranty over 0-1% more efficiency, also cheaper.
Then you could run two full speed with slight overclock if you're so inclined to.
2177  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: November 20, 2015, 09:03:10 PM

Its even cheaper in Canada, 16-17USD. Could be a good option for those who want a cooler included with the pod, but it seem a bit expensive considering its the same price as getting it at retailers.
2178  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2 Bitcoin Miner SP 10 - Spoondolies-Tech 2.8 TH/s (Used) on: November 20, 2015, 08:52:50 PM

He's referring to the efficiency, not the fact that there's two units.

At 1TH an SP10 pulls about 800W from the wall.  That's about the best you can do with it, and that's closer to .8W/GH, not .58.  If you run it at full tilt at 1.4TH you're pulling about 1300W from the wall, which is about .93W/GH.

What you're quoting are best case on chip numbers.  That's like saying an S5 does .34W/GH because that's the best they can do with lower voltage not including any of the supporting hardware around it.

I agree with you but the specification I got them from the site of spoondolies, you can check, I will not fool anyone

2179  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I'm planning to buy 50 antminer s3, how to conditionate a room. on: November 20, 2015, 08:47:45 PM
$679.00 per unit. Is that a good price?

It seem overpriced, but not TOO horribly so. I've paid much less but i've only got a few from deals here and there. I'd say 500$ is the max you should pay at current BTC price. Otherwise just get a few S7 instead, because at the suggested prices, S7 are(or were) actually cheaper ^_^".

The only upside to buying those S4, even at 500$ is that you will get them sooner, no need for PSU and hopefully no import taxes.
2180  Other / Politics & Society / Re: is ISIS really using Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2015, 02:03:28 AM
isis cant even use their brains not a hitech system

Having extreme belief in a religion does not make them stupid. You should not underestimate your enemy. Anyone use Cash, anyone use BTC. Not that it matters anyways.

Money is like food, or a car, it does not matter who use it. People should do better things with their time than point fingers at silly things.

Having extreme belief in a religion makes every human being a moron and this is a fact of stupidity.

Blind belief is indeed silly. But it does not reduce your IQ. Beside the moronic things that come from having extreme beliefs, they can still understand and use and create technology like any others. Every group has geniuses, the problem is here they use their intelligence to terrorize people.
