1221  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][CANADA]2.9 AsicMiner Tubes -> Slowly dropping the price on: January 27, 2016, 03:20:33 PM
-0.85BTC for all;
AMTube (3 Total)
, including 3 controller, incl Shipped within Canada, elsewhere is small extra
All boards work (12 of them), one miner has 8%ish less hashrate because of 2 boards slightly slower.

-Antminer S1(3 Available)

-Antminer S5(4 May be Available soon)
Might sell my S5's depending on the price i get for them.

Above text modified. Added a mention for S5's and changed the price for the AMTubes.

Lowered the BTC price for the AsicMiner Tubes to .8BTC for all 3. Keeping up with the diff. Send me a PM if you would be interested in buying AMTubes, thanks. I dont mind selling them together or separately. Smiley

ckdb restart.

After that previous post I couldn't get onto the forum ...
Restart has about 5 minutes to go.
Was again a memory issue ... that I clearly need to resolve soon to avoid having to restart ckdb every 4-5 days

Yea id say so.. Looking back thru the thread you've been restarting this since at least 6 months ago.. Id say that should be top priority  there shouldnt be a need to restart every few days. MPOS pool i for my solo never has to be restarted.

Best Regards
d57heinz
Has zero effect on mining, so no not really relevant.

Id say its very relevant or you wouldnt bother restarting.. There is no way it can track shares accurately if its at 100% resources..  Honest question.. what are the limits of ckdb.. Looking to be getting close.. Here is an excerpt from ck back in nov of 2014

Its not relevant because thats the database server that gather information for the frontend. The backend server, where the magic really happen, is untouched.
1223  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Give me some advice please on: January 27, 2016, 02:06:50 PM
Ok

I have old factory 7500 meters square .

Is there a higher devices from antminer s7?
And
What about devices like smart miner from miners lab or yes miner m20 from yes miner.

Wait I said, 100 000 not 100 Terra hash

Its a bit ridiculous when someone suggest building a 40millions usd farm and hire 20 employees full time to maintain the (your) 25mW data center and can't tell an obvious scam.

The only two option right now are S7 and Avalon6, but if you really have that kind of cash, then you would not need to deal with them in the first place.
1224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Spondoolies SP30 on: January 27, 2016, 01:58:04 PM
2.4 Ē. Where do you live?

Finland, 2.4cents in euros.

Thats okay, i have similar costs too, but only for first 50kWh, make sure there are not other fees too, and then include taxes. When adding the per kW access overcharge, the servicing fees and the taxes, i go from 0.03$/kWh to 0.06$/kWh effective.
1225  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I need help with amps and S7... on: January 27, 2016, 12:52:50 PM
You guys have been a huge help. Thanks!

I just talked to my electrician. We are doing (3) outlets each connected to its own 240v/30 amp breaker (I have the space). There is a surge protector being installed on the whole panel (internally). I will go with one of the PDU's shown above that are rated for 30 amp but pushes less. The outlets are right by my panel which works perfect. My plan is to only plug 3 miners in each PDU to start as I work my way up to 9 miners (3 PDU's).

Has anyone seen a difference with using the Bitmain power supply compared to the EVGA power supply? The Bitmain's is much cheaper and didn't know if the EVGA is really even necessary with my electrical setup now. I know most people use the EVGA because they are using 120v. Thoughts?

Once again thanks for all of your help thus far.

They're better, more expensive PSU's. If you want cost effective, go ahead. Personally i like the cleanest powers for my miners. But with how much money you can save, then maybe servers PSU's are the way to go.

However getting PSU packages from the forum is a better price. The Bitmain PSU is not really that much of an interesting buy.
1226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Spondoolies SP30 on: January 27, 2016, 12:50:48 PM
Hi,

First, I tried to search about this but those threads was closed or very old ones so..

Is this miner still effective?
They are not badly priced and I could get 2 of this for price of 1 s7.
So about 9th/s vs 4.7th/s.

But there is many broken ones or not fully working ones on sale. Are this miners too old for buying?

Should I just buy new s7 instead.
I dont need to concern about electricity bills because someone else is paying it for me.

That someone else might start caring, when that person see his bill going up by 500USD per month. But a SP30 for 450$ would be a good price, no doubt. Not sure just your electric situation is really going to make it work properly.
1227  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7: Batch 2 vs. Batch 8 on: January 27, 2016, 11:16:33 AM
Hey guys,
i am reading this Board for quite a while, and now, i have a question and need your advice.

I want to buy a S7.
My local dealer has 2 Batches in Stock: B2 and B8 (please donīt ask my why)
As i donīt want to buy at Bitmine site (mostly because of the customs in Germany i think) i would like to buy one of the Batches.

He offers:
S7 B2: 1299€/$1411 (4,66TH/sec)
S7 B8: 1369€/$1487 (4,73TH/sec)

Is the B8 worth the higher price?
Is there anything where one is better than the other?
I read a lot about it but in the end i am a little undecided

I would really appreciate your Opinion.

Thank you in advance
Greetings
Mr. McSeth

The B2 would have more chips, and likely a little more efficiency.   The B8 they have on a solid hashrate, but less chips and higher freq so lower efficiency.    How does warranty work?  That would factor in I would think on a B2 vs B8.  But not sure with reseller.

Is there any reason you don't want to do bitmain?  B8 and B9 is substantially less there, you would need a decent vat to make the difference.

I'd really go with Bitmain's at 900$ per unit, i have difficulty seeing 160% Markup because of VAT and duty. I also don't like the idea of dealing with a reseller for warranty purpose. However if the reseller is trully trustworthy, maybe he could effect some kind of decent "warranty" that does not deal with the manufacturer.
1228  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S7 Batch 9 Power Draw on: January 27, 2016, 11:12:54 AM
tested b8 on ~230v with dps2000bb and fans on ~50% and i get 1300w!
i shit you not!

Interesting  I have not heard of others getting that good.   If you leave fan on auto does it go back to 1400?

I'm just curious if it's fan based or if you got one that somehow has better efficiency.

My fans are under that and i get 1415w at the wall with near Titanium level efficiency and PSU fan off. I very much doubt these numbers, unless the unit he has is not a typical B8 but a similar unit that has lower voltage at the chip.
1229  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I need help with amps and S7... on: January 26, 2016, 11:20:52 PM
Are you recommending something like this to plug the EVGA into? It would be nice to monitor the amps on each miner but I'm not sure this is a proper surge protector.

http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-PDUMV30HV-Metered-Vertical/dp/B0012VN0I0/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1453786119&sr=1-2-catcorr&keywords=30+amp+pdu

Yes you will want to get a PDU that is enough AMPs.  So if you get 20 amp... you only need 20 amp pdu.  If you get 30 amp I  would get a 30 amp pdu.  Either way you really need a PDU to distribute power to your power supplies from your 240 line.

I would suggest checking ebay though.  You can get PDU's at a great discount on ebay used vs buying new.  I owe learning this from phil.  But I saved a ton going to ebay.

Is it safe to run 30AMP on a 30AMP circuit? Every breaker i have have a warning labeled "Rated continuous use is 80% of rated value". In this case that would be 24a i believe?
1230  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Looking for old miners on: January 26, 2016, 09:51:14 PM
Yes post your location. Because most old miners cost alot to ship due to weight.
done it Smiley

Um wow, yeah forget it for most units. Might be able to sell the ASIC tube package, but it would not be worth with any "small" miners because you'd be paying twice as more for shipping than for the miner itself. So i wont be able to sell you a S1 for sure, disregard my reply to your PM.

But check my thread and do the maths for 3 ASIC tubes. Same efficiency but they go to like 2.6th/s for 3 instead of 0.14th/s per S1.
1231  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][CANADA]2.9 AsicMiner Tubes -> Slowly dropping the price on: January 26, 2016, 09:23:41 PM
How much for the S5?

I just mentioned it to fish for some offers. If i get a good one, i might take it, otherwise i plan on mining with them for at least another solid month or 2. I'm not sure about swapping these for .3 hardware can be really worth it. They are still very profitable right now.

I have received a couple more PMs about the S5's so i decided to put a price tag on them. Right now i would sell them at 250$ each, with the current fan and condition they are in. One of the S5 has 2 phantom chips. Full data;

Thats a PDU, not a surge suppressor, not sure if this has surge protection. Personally i just use a surge protected strip bar, it cost 20$. But a PDU can be useful in certain situation.

Maybe someone that knows more about PDU can tell you about them. So far i only use 120v.
1233  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I need help with amps and S7... on: January 26, 2016, 05:13:42 AM
Are you using a 240v/30 amps (breaker) or 120v/30 amps? Based on the calculations you would definitely need 30 amps with 120v. I didn't plan to use a PDU. Just an EVGA or Bitmain's PSU plugged directly into the outlet.

Does 30 amps help them run more efficiently? So am I still correct to assume I can run 2 miners on a 240v/30 amp circuit (basically use top and bottom of the outlet). I have the power available.

Better power density. And with all the people reporting miner failure because of electric surge, you'd probably want to use surge protectors and PSU with UVP/OVP, like the EVGAs.
1234  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I need help with amps and S7... on: January 26, 2016, 02:46:55 AM
I've gotten feedback on some other sites saying 20 amps is the way to go. The calculations are: S7 uses roughly 1300watts...so 1300w / 240v = 5.41 amps...so each S7 needs around 6 amps. If you put an outlet with two available plug sockets on the 240v/20amp circuit then that would be ideal. You could run two miners on your 240v/20 amp circuit. Other input is appreciated as I am not an electrician.

Ahh, be careful, the S7 power consumption at the wall is now 1410-1480 depending on PSU efficiency, so if you come up with tight calculation, you could bust.
1235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: gekkoscience usb stick miner - help please :) on: January 26, 2016, 01:17:14 AM
many thanks Smiley
turned the screw just a fraction and seems to be working fine at the moment Smiley
not seen any hardware errors as yet, but if i do, how do i adjust the clock rate ??

someone please give him   a bat file  with a few freq settings.

I would do it but I am not running bfg miner.

on the volts adjustments   if     the  pot is like this +     top at 12 just move it 1 hour to 11 to lower or 1 hour to 1 to raise.

then do a new test for a bit.

usb2 ports can do freq 200 on most setups.

Add "--compac-freq 200" to the command line at some point. You can try 150 or whatever. I have a Y splitter so i'm not sure when you should stop cranking it up.
1236  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Looking for old miners on: January 26, 2016, 01:12:55 AM
If you have a miner that doens`t pay for electricity anymore,

I want it!

Just pm me.

(Something like an s1... etc)

MUst include PSU

My S1 still pay the electricity. Where are you located? I still might have something. But if you're expecting to get miners at 0.1$/GH, that is not going to happen.

Edit: You might as well check out my thread. I am selling some stuff along that efficiency level 1J/GH~.

1237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Video: How to Save 30% off Amazon -- Complete Step-by-Step Guide on: January 25, 2016, 04:53:37 AM
So what happen if the order that is getting shipped to you was done with a gift card purchased fraudulently?
AFAIK nothing happens to you if you receive the goods. Since it is someone else that is fulfilling the wishlist that you created, then you nothing bad will happen to you if the order arrives. If it does not, purse.io uses escrow. When you want to buy something, IIRC bitcoin is taken from your balance and locked in escrow. Then you wait for someone to buy the stuff and wait for it to arrive. If it doesn't, then you can open up a dispute and you will get your Bitcoin back.

Sound good, i'll have to give it a try. I've just had some issues finding good prices on amazon for items i'd want to use this on anyways. Like computer components are often 30-50% higher than at other only retailers.
1238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Video: How to Save 30% off Amazon -- Complete Step-by-Step Guide on: January 25, 2016, 03:30:39 AM
iii. Which rate Purse.io uses for BTC to FIAT coversion? Coinbase rate or their own rate?
The rate is essentially determined by the bitcoin seller. It is what determines the discount.
Bitcoin seller determined the rate! How come? Bitcoin seller is the Amazon buyer in this case. And if it is bitcoin buyer you mean, then wont he intentionally offer a low rate, which will eat the discount advantage? I thought, purse.io uses some standardized rate, e.g. CoinBase/Bitstamp etc.
The person selling the Bitcoin (meaning buying goods from amazon) sets the rate that he wants to sell his Bitcoin at. Purse.io sets a minimum that he can set that rate to and that minimum is usually that market rate. By setting the selling price higher, he is giving himself a discount on the goods. The buyer cannot do anything about it. He can only choose who to buy Bitcoin from and choose a person selling at a lower rate. The Bitcoin seller is incentivised to not set a super high discount (high bitcoin price) for himself because then no one will take his offer and he won't get what he wants.

Intersting I had not heard of this.  I always love learning something new.  My big question is there any possibility of getting mixed up with carding or any other bad things with this?

I just am having trouble seeing why someone would buy a amazon order for 20 percent higher then what bitcoin is worth.  So makes me worried they are using carded account to buy and ship to you or other not so good means.
There definitely is a lot of carding and credit card fraud on purse.

But there are also people who are willing to paying premiums for Bitcoin. Especially with a credit card which a lot of exchanges don't accept. With purse they don't have to verify or give out personal information or their bank account which I am sure that a lot of noncarders don't want to give out.

So what happen if the order that is getting shipped to you was done with a gift card purchased fraudulently?

A wise man once said, "When bitcoin price is high, buy miners; when bitcoin price is low, buy bitcoin."

I think the price is low currently, so buying bitcoin should be the rule of thumb. How do you know when bitcoin price is high or low? If bitcoin price around $600, it's high, time to buy miners, below $600 is time to buy bitcoins.

I don,t know about that.

Sell ASIC's when bitcoin is soaring, because everyone go in a buying frenzy. Buy Miners when Bitcoin is low. Tongue Same thing with BTC for buying, i guess.

I'd rather just have more miners however.

You know nothing, VirosaGITS!

There I fixed it for you!

Naw people buy Miners at crazy high prices when the BTC price because they think the price will continue raising non stop or something. You could sell a S5 for 500$ last time.
