221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SWEATCOIN on: September 14, 2022, 11:06:45 AM
what did you guys see about sweatcoin hype

will this last forever?Huh

This question of yours doesn't make sense, nothing last forever if you must know. Sweatcoin is a project that is yet to enter any exchange, you can only earn some by using the app, the app looks 80% ready with constant updates from the team, there is a mini store where you can spend your earned sweatcoin on items.
there is nothing much to say about the project except you can earn free sweatcoin now if you put in some effort. and as for last forever, I really doubt you understand what you ask.

I don't understand why someone will even think of lasting forever, I believe just today the new update for the sweat wallet now allows for staking and earning additional rewards like Gift cards, prize draws including FIFA World Cup tickets, custom NFTs and all these depends on the Number of SWEAT you have to qualify plus up to a 12% of the total sweat you have staked. I think just like many other projects, take advantage of being an early adopter, take your profit, and keep moving. Wink
222  Economy / Economics / Re: MAP of cbdc adoption over the world. on: September 14, 2022, 10:42:16 AM
Nigeria is the only one so far that launched its own cdbc. Russia and China already have their pilot.
People's Bank of China was the first to launch its own CBDC, digital Renminbi (digital Yaun). There are more other central banks that have launched their own CBDC:

Central Bank of The Bahamas (Sand Dollar)
Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (DCash)
Central Bank of Nigeria (e-Naira)
Bank of Jamaica (JamDex).

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_bank_digital_currency

I see that countries which are democracies that have more respect for individual rights are not rushing cdbc adoption.
Privacy issues and conflict with banks may be the problem. Banks wouldn't want people to have cdbcs, as they would lose clients.
It is done in a way that people still can transfer from bank to eNaira wallet in Nigeria. Nigeria prefer to deal with naira directly than first transfering the naira to eNaira wallet.

In Nigeria, people still prefer naira.

I had the eNaira app, I later deleted it because I prefer the bank that I am using, I have their app and I see no reason why eNaira was created, nothing more than the fiat that we are transferring on our bank app.

I do not see CBDCs to be necessary as long as we can transfer fiat using electronic transfer.

Exactly, there is no difference in the value of the Naira and e-Niara and there is also no difference in the function the internet Banking system was and still performing but the Government just wanted to make the less crypto-understanding citizens of the country think this is a digital currency like cryptocurrency but failing to realize that the Banked population of the citizens already knows better. Why would I get a different app to do a transaction that I can already do straight from the Bank app itself without any additional benefit?

223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people doing except holding Bitcoin? on: September 14, 2022, 10:29:14 AM
Lol what? Rich people are the ones who are working their asses off and are saving their money.  Some of the richest people I know are those who'd you'd never expect it from.  Most rich people don't do any of these things you've listed out or perhaps do but in a limited fashion outside of working their butts off and savings.  Most of the people I know with bitcoin are simply owning and purchasing it along with other types of investment assets.
I actually agree with you. I think OP is mixing between the categories of rich people from what celebrities do and what other working or investment rich people do but this is not to say that some crypto or Bitcoin investors might not live those lives but I believe that is more of the celebrity's lifestyle. How many of the Bitcoin heavyweights have we really seen on that lifestyle?
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to find some coins from late 2008 or early 2009 on: September 12, 2022, 09:51:32 AM
Will not move on i will continue to search but was hoping for a better response. Hopefully their eyes see this post.
Hypothetically let's say you do find some sort of information about this site you are talking about, Does this mean even at the time there was no login info? that is if the site still exists and why has it taken you this long to want to get back to the site cos clearly I would say Bitcoin got a big attraction during the 2017 ATH, that could have drawn your attention then, or did you forget Grin
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing for a real Assets on: September 12, 2022, 09:39:21 AM
While Going through the book Rich dad, poor dad my mind refrain back to this; INVESTING FOR A REAL ASSET

And it says a true luxury is a reward for investing in and developing a real asset.having read that I was contemplating and as well need clarification for this.If BTC is an asset.because it was said that an asset is money in your pockets,so how does BTC relate to being a real asset, and what is a real asset and how do you invest for a real Assets.
Bitcoin will always go through every form of scrutinization but will always come out on top. I usually don't hear this same question when people invest in things like Stocks.
I would say BTC investment is almost similar since there are both not real assets but

likewise Bitcoin

At the end of the day, they both have value even if they are not REAL ASSETS but can easily be converted to cash.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Queen Elizabeth and Cryptocurrency on: September 11, 2022, 02:47:14 PM
~
Apart from this NFTs too have striked the market. For now few tokens have gained $200000+ trading volume.
These jokes are undermining the entire cryptocurrency space as we have new shit tokens for everything and anything and surprised to see the trading volume for these shit tokens. Today i had a conversation with some of my old stock trading friends who started cryptocurrency trading after the last rally and they see the entire market as a shit show that could collapse anytime.

Really helpless with these trash jokes. Since these jokes have left the crypto market like a dump, many newbies feel overwhelmed with tens of thousands of tokens and most of them are scams. The projects that really bring true utility can only be counted on the fingers.

I really don't understand what the people who are creating these junk tokens are thinking, taking advantage of the queen's death for their own gain. Their consciousness is really not that of a 3 year old kid, people like this shouldn't exist in the market.
Well, unfortunately, we will continue to see this kind of people operating in the crypto space why? because there are other gullible people that will continue to patronize these projects all in the name of making a profit and they don't have any remorse whether they are taking advantage of a dead person, as long as they make money, they are fine. It is sad.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Limitations of Bitcointalk Members from Developing Countries on: September 11, 2022, 02:37:58 PM
You are quite right about all these issues but for my country now, unless you are really in a remote location, then you will probably have the issue with Poor Internet Supply, most part of the country is 4G and some few areas are 5G now which makes it much better.
Yeah there is the issue with criminality, especially in the urban areas in this case where you can be attacked by a group of guys that take everything off you and you can easily lose your mobile phone in that process and as @BlackHatCoiner said,
High Crime Rate:  You should have a computer at home, so that if you get stolen, you can still access your bitcoin.
it is safer to have both, and for me, I have most of my crypto access via the laptop, I didn't have any wallet on my phone.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: September 10, 2022, 10:46:42 AM
Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.
no really, there are some people who can make their $100 very much in the world of trading. even in this thread, this guy is trying to turn his $500 into $5k, and so far, he's made a huge profit since he started. in this case, the case is not much different from the one you have. However, in the crypto world, there are always great opportunities, you just need to understand the risks. As another example, owners of $100 dogs a few years ago would also have made huge profits if they had kept their assets to this day, even more so when they sold the dogs they owned when the price was close to $1. keep trying and practice, you too will find your answer.
Well, I agree but this will take a long time as you alluded to the Dogecoin case and at least, Dogecoin is still trading after all those years so it wasn't a surprise after the Elon effect that hodlers of the coin saw major profits but this might not be the case with many new Alts projects out there because we know that there are mostly scams that are just waiting to rug pull. So for any new low cap project that $100 will buy you a shit load of the tokens will have to survive the hardship of the market and have a large investor interes.

229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does altcoins actually have the potentials of generating benefits to investors? on: September 09, 2022, 11:02:45 AM
As a beginner into the trading business, I'm always scared of putting my money into altcoins but I do hear some people talk about how they make profits altcoins.

So I decided to come here to seek the views of experienced traders on the potentials of altcoins.
This can happen especially as a new trader in the cryptocurrency market and it is a good thing, it brings caution to investment. Bitcoin is the most stable in terms of risk with crypto trading or investment but this does not mean you cannot invest in Altcoins, however, if you dare to examine the market over a period of time, you would realize that there are good Alts too that have stood the test of time in the market and are good investments option too but you have to DYOR and not just invest in everything people say.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Terra Luna Classic pumping - can it last? on: September 09, 2022, 10:27:49 AM
I am fairly new to crypto and in July I took a gamble on terra luna classic when it was 0.00009 and it is now pumping. Can someone explain why this is and what the chances of it lasting are?

I have been following it more closely over the last week as it has began getting more and more attention and apparently a lot is happening over the next few weeks which is driving the price up currently but not sure what it all means?

How realistic are the chances of it reaching $0.01 or $0.10 and how long will this take? Months or years?

I am not selling just yet but this is seeing the best returns I have had in crypto so far so may take out my investment soon and let the profit ride.
I want to believe you already know the history of terra luna classic, and what happened that made its price dip the way it did, however, I would normally suggest that investors researched the projects they intend to invest in however I believe a lot of investors had their money in the project before it crashed and I don't think they want to let it go just yet so with all that kind of support, we might continue to see Terra classic rise every now and then but predicting how long and to what price it will get to is a different thing. As you have mentioned, don't hesitate to take profit or Initial investment to avoid loss altogether.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Bitcoin Traders Arrested Due To Illegal Trading on: September 08, 2022, 01:32:51 PM
They are been arrested due to money laundering and scamming issue and not for illegal trading since I think if I'm not wrong there's no really illegal trading we call if we do it on legitimate exchange by ourselves only. They provably use that as a reason to convince people that they are profitable and they can get percentage if they invest on their trades. We see this already happen everywhere so this kind of crime is not surprising and good job for authorities to sue this people since this is good example for criminals to stop what illegal things they do.
You are right and I believe the other offenses would have actually been the cause of their arrest. OP said,
Quote
though bitcoin is illegal in Bangladesh
for the RAB-5 (Rapid Action Battalion) to also confirm that they were into Bitcoin trading which I believe he is referring to as "illegal" could have made the news more attractive. However, we understand that with Bitcoin involved it would most likely be the one that would be blown out of proportion.
232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could drop to $10,000 by 2023 as the Fed normalizes interest rate policy on: September 08, 2022, 09:38:32 AM
Bitcoin could plummet 76% from current levels to $10,000 by 2023 as the cryptocurrency faces three macro headwinds that have an influence on its price, according to a note from Stifel's Barry Bannister.

Bannister highlighted global money supply, the 10-Year US Treasury yield, and the equity risk premium of the S&P 500 that have influence over the price of bitcoin. Planned tightening by the Federal Reserve in the form of interest rate hikes and a reduction in its balance sheet could have a negative impact on the price of bitcoin, according to Bannister.

"In 2022, we see bitcoin in a broad trading range bounded by year-to-date intra-day levels with greater downside risk in 2023 if the Fed continues to normalize policy in a 'standard' two-year tightening cycle," Bannister explained.

I am not a good TA person but sometimes I like to look at chats to see in the coming future how they really turn out in relation to other price speculations.

Looking at the Bitcoin daily price chat, it does look like a Head and Shoulder pattern to me and like the support has been broken and if we did take the range from top to point of breaking down, it does seem that the $10k price is inevitable, I guess time will tell.

Agbe I know we all dislike banks and what they are putting people through but don't you think it will be better to provide accurate or near accurate info rather than false information to mislead the forum members?
My problem with your post is that you make it look like this happened recently while it has happens since 2020 prior to lock down or so according to the article.
You fail to make reference to the images source even when it was clearly imprint on one of them. You have risen to the senior member rank and should by now understand how to share information. Please do take note of this moving forward.

Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option

What do you know, people are fond of putting out wrong information because they think no one will take the time to check out this info. Thanks for checking that out, besides, some of us that have good information about OP's alleged bank escapade know this is not the time even though it can actually happen. Some of us also are not highly technically knowledgable about Bitcoin but we have come to support Bitcoin for what it represents.

234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To all 100x hunters out there on: September 07, 2022, 10:19:23 AM
75% of crypto investors don't understand that projects like Solana, Cardano, Doge, SAND, XRP, Avalanche did a 100x in this recently past bull run and it will never happen again, not even 20x I believe, those who have been in crypto space since 2017 will understand what im talking about, every four years a new adjustment is always made to Top 20 lists on Coinmarketcap, new breeds will take over.

Get rid of the old stuffs and hunt for the next 100x, not a financial advice but DYOR.

You mean hunting low/micro caps? What new people don't seem to get is that most of the top coins were considered as low caps even when they were top 10 back in time.
Although markets could jump very high from here, people who don't have lots of money wouldn't benefit from them too much. As you said they won't be rising a lot.

If i had under $1000 budget, i would definitely hunt microcaps. Because all you need is one of them to succeed to make more money in month then years with high caps. Then again change to get rugged is way higher.

Both of you could be right at the sametime, we understand that investing in these new low caps projects could bring higher rewards paraventure you are lucky to invest in one but it could also highly mean that all you invested in would not make it at all. Investors have their rights to invest their monies on whatever crypto they fell like, hell, we have heard investors making mad profits from investing in shitcoins and some also losing all in same quest.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing Bitcoin private keys using dental implants? on: September 07, 2022, 07:19:25 AM
Don't try to fix something, if it's not broken. Paper and ink have proven to be effective means of backing up private keys (seed phrase). Having multiple backups helps to act as a fail safe and should be encouraged too, but I can't see a single need to want to carry my seed phrase around in my tooth implants.

What would be the pros and cons of this one?
The biggest con is that a regular guy cannot do this by themselves and would need the help of a professional. Any aspect of safeguarding my seed phrase that would mean exposing it to someone else (who in this case would handle the engraving) is a big risk and one I would not be willing to take.

I personally cannot see any pros to this.
You couldn't be more right. In a similar post about holding your private keys and SP where I once read people suggesting saving this information in a Nuclear type king of Vault, even then I thought that was overboard. As you suggested, "Paper and ink have proven to be effective means" and I also believe that the best way to protect your crypto assets is for you not to even let people know you have them. I believe that we are overthinking this whole login info thing.

236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigerian FG to partner Binance on: September 07, 2022, 07:03:37 AM
We don't know what is hidden behind the partnering by the federal government. Nigeria is a big market and has got the highest level of adoption and usage amidst the restrictions from the government. The government is found much interested in promoting the country's own CBDC eNaira.
Certainly not far from what I am thinking that there could be a hidden agenda you know. There is actually more to this than we already know. I mean, what do they mean by a "Virtual Freezone"? Can someone explain it better to me please because, I don't get it.

The Nigerian federal government in its CBN have an anti crypto nature and have done much to ensure cryptocurrency is dragged to the mud despite massive adoption by its citizens but the corrupt practices in there ranks have left most digital inclinded citizens to choose cryptocurrency everytime.

I think Binance is being too much in there involvements with the FG of Nigeria and could mean danger for Nigerian Cryptocurrency traders. Not so long ago, they started accepting NIN, a Nigerian document for KYC and now, they are partnering with the government.
How long will it take before they start leaking your details and transactions to the government?

I don't see anything good in this partnership until they come out clean. There could be more to this than the are ready to tell or we actually know.

I read through just about all posts here and I truly see the concern of most which are what we are scared of because this Government as we know them has not been fort coming with true Information with her citizens and this might just be one of those ways they try to get at them again, however, why would Binance do that? not that they can't if they want to, but why would they? they would understand that this will cause a lack of trust across other location that uses the Exchange and not just the Nigerians and it would be bad for Binance so I still have my reservations with regard to that because of their touring around the African countries to create awareness about cryptocurrencies.

Binance to launch Africa crypto awareness tour as adoption ramps up

So I am thinking they are willing to do this if it is actually confirmed because they actually want to tap into this market fully.
We do understand that when it comes to Nigeria, Binance has sponsured or partners with some orginazations activities.

Binance unveils collaboration with Big Brother Naija Stars

Binance Takes Blockchain Education To Northern Nigeria, In Collaboration With Edubox Global

In the part of Nigerian government,  I don't see their sudden interest to partner with binance as genuine but as a convenient way to propagate their political campaign, everything they do at the moment is geared towards the upcoming elections, they seek to score a point with the Nigerian masses after such a terrible administrative experience they currently going through.

Binance like every other business have been relentless with their efforts to reach as many countries as possible, partner with the government or none governmental organisations to spread crypto awareness. Right now, the Nigerian government realise they can't stop the movement no matter how hard they try. Time is up for them.
I totally agree with you and that is why it is difficult to come to terms that what the Government is about to do with engaging in this move with Binance IF it actually happens is out of the good of the technology and has no hidden agenda as you have pointed out. True it is coming to another election in 2023 and the present Government has seen the mass movement of the youths and where they stand in the upcoming election so thinking they are doing this for selfish interest couldn't be far from the truth.

So the Federal Government of Nigeria is Partnering with the Biggest Crypto Exchange in the world Binance along with Talent City in establishing virtual free zone in West Africa.
Nigerian FG to partner Binance

We know that sometime on January 12, 2021, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) sent a letter to banks and other financial institutions about the ban on the trading and enabling of payment for cryptocurrencies through all the Banks.

They (CBN) also directed all banks and other financial institutions to identify and cancel the accounts of individuals or businesses that deal in cryptocurrencies or run cryptocurrency exchanges which as we know some Banks did

We also know that the CBN Imposes N800m Fine On some Banks For Crypto Transactions (Stanbic IBTC Bank, Access Bank Plc, and United Bank for Africa are among the banks affected

So with all this hatred of Cryptocurrency in the past why is the Government now seeing a different light in Partnering with a Cryptocurrency Heavyweight like Binance? are they waking up from their slumber or is this just proof of what we have been saying all along, If not for their own selfish interest they wouldn't do it for the people. However, let us hope at the end of the day, this will bring positive news for Cryptocurrency adoption in the country.

What's your take?

239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can this be the reason some people are afraid to invest in Bitcon? on: September 05, 2022, 10:09:56 AM
The typical human mind initially considers the fictitious drawbacks and rejects the possibility of another type of money. However, a growing number of individuals are visiting exchanges like Binance, Primexbt, Kraken, etc. People are afraid because they were taught to be afraid as child. This is, unfortunately, what the educational system does.

I am also a victim. Wish I had joined this forum earlier.

Yeah even though people have this way, it isn't restricted to Bitcoin Investment. How many times have we heard instances where people invested in other sectors like shares of companies and sometimes after the company closes down and you lost all your investment, this I have witnessed first hand so, people still lack the will to look and research what is in front of them and will always want to play safe however once they really understand what Bitcoin is, then they will have a second thought.
240  Other / Archival / Re: Entrepreneurship or Office job? on: September 04, 2022, 07:10:05 AM
self proclaimed entrepreneurs are quitting entrepreneurship because of difficulty in maintaining a business and reduced sales due to reduced purchasing power from people,
Hmm weird from you to say that. Aren't they always mocking uni graduates and overall 9 to 5 workers while pushing this entrepreneurs lifestyle and encouraging everyone to pursue it?
What is weird? Are there any valid data to show that this is really the case? True that many entrepreneurs are facing difficulty running their businesses due to economic hardship all the way from the COVID outbreak and so are the Government offices too.

21 September, Abuja – A new report released this Tuesday by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), says that 20 percent of the fulltime workforce in Nigeria lost employment during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The report, which assesses the impact of COVID-19 on business enterprises in Nigeria, is based on in-depth interviews with almost 3,000 businesses from both the formal and informal sectors and across major industries of the economy.

and this was also the case globally plus don't forget that those entrepreneurs are also Uni graduates too that choose to create a Business and be an employer of others. There's nothing to mock here, regardless of which sector you fall in, the whole idea is for you to be able to take care of yourself and yours.
