221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 15, 2023, 08:34:35 PM
I would be lying if I tell I don't copy bets somehow. I usually did it when I was a beginner in gambling since I have no enough idea how gambling works. Although it never turned out to be mostly profitable, but I also learned from it. I learned how to analyze my own bet and believe that everyone has luck in gambling, it's just that it comes in different time.

However, its still an edge over other gamblers if you know actually the game well and you know how this certain game works. And with luck and skills that are most important, its making you more profitable than seeing your bets mostly losing.
222  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 14, 2023, 09:51:39 PM
While majority of us have been thriving to come up with a good capital, some may have gotten it too easy but the reality is they find it hard to risk their hard-earned money. They have all the capital but since they are still uncertain about the investment future and still have no clear goals, then they will really become more hesitant to invest their money. Having no clear education on their investment is another issue.

Sometimes, its not all about the capital but the capability of an investor or a business owner is the issue. It's really useless to invest your hard-earned money if you are not even sure yet how to manage and grow your investment and your investment capital.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 14, 2023, 08:56:03 PM
What you are doing is like the same with what big sharks in gambling are doing. You are putting more fuel in them to never stop gambling at all, and definitely fall into deep gambling addiction. And not only that, you can't be sure if these losers will really abide with the contract and will pay your interest charges plus the principal, as they may suddenly change their location and won't be coming back to the same casino anymore.

This is not right mate. You may be getting a lot of profits but at the same time you are also burying these gamblers into heavy debts. Just think if you are in their situation, surely you are not helping them but only pushing them to their worst situation.

224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What lies ahead for Bitcoin in the coming days? on: November 13, 2023, 09:53:20 PM
If we based on the current market position, I can say that bitcoin is bound to hit a new all time high before this year ends. But this is just a pure speculation since none of us really knows what's the future of bitcoin days and weeks from now. But one thing is certain, if the market will be full of consistent positive market factors that will affect the price of bitcoin, then for obvious reason, bitcoin will keep the price surging high until the end of the year.

However, since bitcoin is highly volatile, then we should be more open of its price pump and dump, and never expect for a consistent price increase. But whatever the condition of the market in the next following days, bitcoin will surely be in align with it.
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: November 13, 2023, 08:56:21 PM
Many believe that gambling is for young people online as they need thrill and and fun. But I think that even old people can enjoy gambling. There should be any age to retire from gambling at all. One can do this activity and leisure time and thus it does not affect retirement related activities also.
For me, most likely the retirement age for gambling is when they can't handle the pressures and emotions when they are losing from gambling. When they reach 70 up, it's better for them to stop from gambling so they can live at peace and have no worries to experience. Gambling is a roller coaster of emotions, while it's good for young because they're adventurous, but it's certainly bad for old age since their emotions at this age are no longer flexible that they can be both happy and mad at the same time.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 12, 2023, 09:30:41 PM
I saw something on Quora that worried me. Someone said that he lost 1200 BTC to scammers. Then, I saw some people sharing/claiming to be experts in recovering lost bitcoin. They shared their contact details like Telegram IDs and WhatsApp numbers.

I have a suspicion that the person who lost the BTC might be the same one giving out those contact details or advices. They could be trying to trick others in the future who search for help online. Google might suggest similar questions on Quora, and people could end up sharing their private keys with scammers.

So, if you are new to all this, be careful. Don't trust random people claiming to be experts on Quora or anywhere else. They might just be trying to get your private information.

This question: https://www.quora.com/I-just-lost-1200-BTC-to-scammers-now-How-can-I-recover-my-BTC-back
scroll to see more answers like these.
Unfortunately, when you are in the state of losing your bitcoin, you have nothing in your mind but to retrieve all what you have lost even if it means trusting those random people that you met online. That's the start of falling yourself in their trap. They will pretend by offering help and the moment you share to them your private keys, boom they're gone out of nowhere. When it happens, that's a sign that scamming is real.

Keep reminded that whatever should be dealt in private, should never ask solutions in public. There's no way who can help you but only yourself. You may start asking advices from the people in the forum as they are more reliable  but never disclose your seed phrases because its your own property, others should never know about it.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can it be real bull or just a temptation. on: November 03, 2023, 08:24:16 PM
It was a great surprised to me this morning seeing the market price increasing above $29k that made me to asked this question, if it's real for bull market to happen in this month of October or is just a temptation that will make people to release their BTC to the market before the massive bull will take place. If the price of BTC can reach this level $29k at this time, show that real bull will take place next month of November till next year ending for investors to use the period to earn more incomes from their investment and to plan well ahead of another bear to come. If this new increase turn to temptation in the crypto market by turning back to dumping again which are some of the things investors don't want to experience in this season because, it will cause Many losses to investors. Do you think this is a real bull that will lead to investors expectation? Or is just a temptation that will make people to rush to the market to sell and regret at the end? What is your opinion.
I am not seeing a temptation nor a real bull run, but I believe what is happening now will certainly lead into a real bullish market that is happening soon. The reason why I need to prepare more my investment portfolio and continue to DCA as much as possible. Regardless if the price is now quite expensive, that does not matter as I am always into long term hodling and just only sell when the market is certainly bullish and bitcoin price reaching its new all time high that we all have been waiting for.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin? on: November 03, 2023, 03:02:39 PM
If Bitcoin hit a million dollars a coin I would probably have no choice but to sell all of mine and spend the rest of my days enjoying the fruits of my labor. I actually think it would probably be a bad thing for me personally, at least health and productivity wise. It would be cool though. No idea what I’d spend millions of dollars on.
Greedy as it is but surely, everyone will be in panic selling as the tendency for the price to change is highly possible. Of course, I will also ride with the trend and sell as much as possible if that's the only way to gain life changing profits that will definitely bring big and luxurious changes in my life. And when the price drops down again, I'll just buy back and accumulate maximum amount of bitcoin in my portfolio.

However, for now, this still remains as a dream, and I'm not really sure if the price will definitely reach that level. What I do today is just sticking to DCA, not really thinking about what would be the future price of bitcoin 10 to 20 years from now.
229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: November 03, 2023, 01:41:31 PM
Since I know cryptocurrency my biggest fear is to lost all my capital or large amounts in trading or investment, because of the fear in me I don't do things that I'm not sure of or things I don't know. My fear to lose have always been a motivation or a reason for me to know things concerning cryptocurrency,  I fear to start trading when I'm of myself that I know nothing to trade , fear to start investment when I know that I don't have a source of income.

My fear have been a motivation to learn,  even If I start trading I may lose but not to lose everything because of the understanding I have. My fear to lose have always made me to take the right decisions and not to make money money my first ultimate in trading and investment but understanding as my first priority.

I know some of my mates who are into  cryptocurrency that phobia to lose but even with the fear to lose they still go ahead to trade. If beginners allows their fear to motivate them to learn first their won't be drastic lose in trading.

The fear to lose whether in trading or investing is actually normal not just for beginners but even those experienced ones. However, if you decide to overcome your fears by acquiring knowledge and skills and engage in varied experiences, then that is a good motivation for you to learn trading or investing in the long run. Fears are already within us, we just have to manage it and control it in times it could serve as a barrier from reaching our desired goals.

Yes, many have fear from losing in trading but eventually, they come to overcome that fears in the end. That proves that fear should only be a temporary emotion, and once you learned and become more capable to trade, fears have shifted into confidence in trading.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think if you have a lot of money its hard to satisfy your ego in gambling on: November 03, 2023, 12:48:55 PM
We have threads here about people betting millions of dollars on sports battings and other games in casinos and the amount of money is insane, they can bet millions of dollars on one team and they easily forget everything and bet another millions.

I doubt if we have high rollers who will admit, that having a lot of money means you cannot satisfy your ego or that your level of enjoyment is high that you will need to bet millions of dollars just to fulfill your dopamine level.

What do you think, if I have millions I will be satisfied betting thousands of dollars for fear of addiction that will lead to losing my fortune, but I really don't know if I will reach that level of having millions and still be moderate in gambling.

For me it depends. If you put gambling as your priority, you will really find it hard to satisfy your ego with gambling, and because of that the rate of gambling addiction is also very high. However, I still believe that even the richest man alive has still limits on its gambling habit. But definitely, that would be millions of dollars as they are still comfortable losing that. But if you put gambling as a means of fun and entertainment, then there will be less possibility for addiction to develop, and most probably the amount used to gamble is not that big.

Moreover, not all rich people are into gambling. Most of them are into investments and expansion of their businesses in different countries. If they find time to gamble, most likely just to relieve their stress, or just to enjoy and have some fun during their leisure time.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: November 02, 2023, 09:56:50 PM
I was listening to a news that one of the relatives of a person kidnapped him and asked him for bitcoin in ransom. This happened because that person showed his bitcoin holdings to many of his relatives and news spread among them that he has lot of money invested in crypto. Though, finally funds were recovered from that guy but he could have even lost his life in the whole scenario. Thus, you should be careful with disclosing about your bitcoin holdings to everyone.
This is a very basic rule but it seems it's so hard for majority to follow. Why? Because we have this attitude that if we share our successful story to other people, we can inspire them to do the same thing and experience the same success. But its not happening in reality, it will only make them feel belittle and its like you are underestimating their own skills and capabilities. Until they become offended and get back to you for revenge.

This is why instead of sharing everything we have most especially when it comes to the success of our bitcoin investment, its better to save it on our own and never disclose anything about them. It's safer that people will think that we have no bitcoin hodlings or any expensive investment with us so that they won't think of getting an edge over us or trying to think things that will put ourselves in danger.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop the self entitlement claims on others gamblers winnings. on: November 02, 2023, 09:27:01 PM
As elucidated in detail on the image the story of a gambler in my country who won a whopping amount of N15.6M  that's about $16,000 and out of his generosity gifted one of the punters a sum of N100k an act which IMO could be referred to as an appreciation for doing nothing.

Getting to X  (twitter) some people started dragging and criticizing the gambler and calling him names, that the N100k he gave to the punters out of N15.5M he had won was too small and that he could have done better. Below in the image  is one of many tweets from the critics.

On the contrary against the critiques some persons where on the side of the gambler saying he the gambler was too magnanimous to have released a N100k as appreciation for someone who did nothing for him or added nothing to his winning bet

It's kind of becoming a norm in the gambling house for people to act with some sort of self-entitement to other gamblers money just because it was money won through gambling. Some even go further to argue that using so little amount to winning so much amount of money you ought to share it with others in a ratio of 60:40. What a nonsense!

IMO, there's no law in gambling mandating that a gambler must share part of his winning with eith friends or fellow gamblers in the gambling house, for that, you owe no one an apology either or not you chose to give a penny whatsoever. Let stop the self entitlement claims towards fellows gamblers that won big amount of money. The attitude is disturbing.
source.

It's like taking a loan and when it's granted, its like you are required to treat the people around. It's really a nonsense attitude.

Gambling is not an exception. A lot of winning gamblers  are actually showing their generosity by giving other gamblers a good amount which serves as their "balato". Although its not bad as long as you are doing it with goodwill, but to be honest let's just cut this attitude because we are not obliged to do this in the first place. Note that its not easy to win in gambling, and before you win, you are losing a lot first before hitting your luck. So if you analyze it carefully, you are just gaining back the money that you have lost. If you decide to give, its like you are making a charity event, you give without asking for return.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there still hope for the price of BTC to hit back $69k this year? on: November 02, 2023, 08:33:10 PM
There is a quite possibility to hit $69k in this year. We all know the movement of Bitcoin right now. What happening in the Bitcoin price movement. You cal see the prise of Bitcoin suffering to reach $30k from last four months. The correct price of Bitcoin is $29.5k something. If the price of Bitcoin don't hits $69k. There is a high possibility to reach Bitcoin price high in the next year after Bitcoin halving. We all are aware about Bitcoin halving and we all know what helped after Bitcoin having. The Bitcoin price go up after halving. If in this year the price of Bitcoin don't hit $69k. Then the next year the price of Bitcoin aftar halving surely goes up. The predictioner of Bitcoin the predict the prices of Bitcoin will go up to $100k after halving. We all know what helped in halving so let's see what happens in future..
We still have 2 months to go before this year ends, and I'm quite optimistic that if this market will continue to be stable, then it will not be surprising to witness bitcoin price back again in $69k. After all, we all know that the last quarter of the year is probably the most exciting months in bitcoin, so if this will be granted without seeing more of a market crash or correction, then it's never hard to achieve $69k or more when this year ends.

However, on the second thought, there will be more positive price by next year if ever $69k will not be achieved this year. Most especially that we are heading into bitcoin halving, then there will be more probability for bitcoin price to achieve a new heights, we just have to be patient and trust the process.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 02, 2023, 07:31:32 PM
Greed will always come to you, whatever the results you receive from gambling. If you win, greed will become even greater. And if you lose, greed will also tell you to play one more round, and if you still lose, greed will keep telling you to try again and again. ~

I think this algorithm of emotions works if a person has an addiction (of varying degrees), because if you take simple human instincts/logic, then if you win something, then you need to take it and run away. If you lose, all the more you need to run away because losses are harmful and a person always wants to avoid losses. That is why the main efforts of the casino are aimed at ensuring that players remain in the game for as long as possible because this will cause them to become addicted.
I believe whether you're addicted to gambling or not, greed is always there. The only difference is that there is higher greed that has been developed when you are already addicted in gambling, and because of that the urge to gamble more becomes more uncontrollable as well.

However, both greed and risk are undeniably present in a gambler. The moment you spend your money to bet without any assurance to get returns or not, that is already taking a risk regardless of the amount. After all, you really need to take risk for you to win, big or small. And the bigger the amount you take risk, the higher the greed you developed, the lesser the amount you bet, it seems the more controllable your greed is.
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: November 01, 2023, 09:46:11 PM
I’m a new member here, and I want to gamble on online casinos. I found some good trusted casinos. And I want to begin with a game with a low budget. First, I need your suggestions about the best games, slots. Live casino for a beginner.
Do you think Me starting gambling would effect me in my real life or make me addicted to gambling. What’s you suggestion and advices.
If you come to gamble with the intention to earn and make money, then obviously you will get addicted in the later part. But if you decide to gamble for fun and entertainment, then you are safe.

To be honest, I don't want to recommend games for you because we all have different taste when it comes to gambling. But in order so you will be satisfied in your games, choose the games that caught your interest. And always bet with your betting budget so you can control your expenses. But always remember that never rely in gambling to make more money, but see it as more of a leisure that causes your adrenaline to gamble more.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: What does being rich mean in your perspective? on: November 01, 2023, 08:45:29 PM
It's one of question which differs from person to person. How do you define richness?
Being rich is when you can cater to all your needs and wants without compromising your funds. When you are ready to help other people in need, most especially in their financial problems. And being rich is when you don't worry your future anymore since you have reserved adequate funds to create a brighter and a more meaningful future. And once you're rich, you become financially secured and independent that no matter how many problems you might encounter, you will always be the last man standing.

Furthermore, being rich is also receiving the right amount of love from your family and loved ones. And there is no hatred but only love. And lastly, if you are rich, all your life's aspects are also stable and secured, be it emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. When you couldn't ask for more, that's when you are definitely rich.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this fascination with claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: November 01, 2023, 07:59:18 PM
So basically, the people who claim to be Satoshi are nothing but narcissists? That is what I am getting whenever I see someone claiming to be such- I mean, who would want to have that kind of popularity?
The short answer is yes, they are narcissists. And they don't even care about "that" type of popularity, it's not important, they just want people to talk about them. And I think that they are not even that smart because if some criminal actually believes you are Satoshi that means that somewhere you and tens of billions of dollars, there are people who are willing to kill for $100, let alone what they could do if they think you have that kind of money. Good luck explaining it was all a joke...
Since they want to take the spotlight that is not intended for them, then obviously they are nothing but narcissists. All they want is that the world will recognize them, like the world is revolving in them. And no one wants to be in this situation not unless you want to be famous in exchange of your own dignity. And all of these people who claim that they are Satoshi Nakamoto are sharing the same goal, to be famous and establish their name in the world, and next to it is to attract wealth with their names.

Although I have no hate against these people, but if they continue to pretend and fool the world that they are the real Satoshi, then clearly they're not actually in their right thinking. The more that we should not trust their names.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most you have ever lost in one session? on: November 01, 2023, 01:57:51 PM
What is the most money you have ever lost in one session? could be land base casino or crypto casino.

mine was $200,000 on Stake.com 2 weeks ago

This is ridiculous, loosing upto this amount is much, i don' think that I can afford to have something as big as this for gambling when am quite aware that i can loose everything at once if the game didn't come as expected, though there have been other bets that amount to higher figure than this, mine has been within the range of hundred dollars downwards because i don't use much money on gambling like that, be it land base casino or online gambling casino, i make sire to spend moderately base on what i can afford to loose.
He must be wealthy enough to bet that huge amount and lose it easily without regretting. But even if I were in his shoe, of course I will still bet with large amount but not as big like $200k, that is already crossing my limits in gambling. Gambling does not assure us big profits in the end despite of our big losses, that’s why we should never gamble such huge amount that we will keep on regretting all throughout our life. Once it’s considered loss, it will always be a wasted money that’s hard to regain in time.

Good thing that I was never addicted in gambling that deep. Because no matter what happens, gambling will always be gambling and the house will always win in the end. Even if you are a high roller, that won’t change the fact that you will also lose a very huge amount, and the more you bet high, the bigger the chances you will lose a lot that can even turn you into a homeless in the end.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 31, 2023, 09:51:41 PM
The Australian Government once said about abolishing gambling ads as a means of reducing gambling activities amongst underage people. But, I think they'll be no successful way of stopping young people from gambling. As it's in them. Most articles here also say things like gambling addiction being hereditary. That means gambling can be hereditary as well. Because I just watched from a distant two kids below 10 years, staking bets, after a long argument about who the artiste of a specific song is. They later staked close to 40 cents each, for the person who gets the answer right. Then they went ahead to verify. And I lost sight of them. I thought about, how come or who thought these kids about betting money during a long argument. I was able to memorize, back when I was a kid. We easily said, how much would you bet if it turns out I'm saying the truth; during an argument. It made me understand that, despite during those days we had no phones or access to the internet, gambling is somehow embedded to the brain of humans. Then, as a child, we weren't exposed to gambling. I could only remember of lotto, as a kid. But we still said things like "let's bet it"
Yes, gambling is already inbuilt in us, even in kids that are never exposed in real casinos or any places wherein betting is available. But with the presence of social media, kids become aware earlier than what we expected. Even playing with simple games in their smart phones can be a start of their betting experience with a small amount of money together with their online playmates. That is how the social media can cause early influence on the kids and they will continue to do that until they reach a legal age to finally gamble in a legal betting site. If they won't be guided properly with their guardians, that's when gambling addiction becomes a threat for them.

If you are actually passionate to learn about bitcoin, you will never rely in just a single source. Research as much as you want but learn to consider also if you are learning from a legit source so that what you'll gained are facts and not just fake news.

But we are just lucky to have bitcointalk forum that contained facts and latest updates of bitcoin and in the crypto market that are in stored for us. Without it, learning might be not easier as we are seeing a lot of fake news about bitcoin that are circulating online.

And the good thing about this forum, we are not learning only out from the post of other reliable members but they are also learning from us. This makes the forum more educational and interactive since every idea that is offered is given value and emphasis in the forum.
