221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin flash crashes to $8200 at Binance.us on: October 22, 2021, 01:33:25 PM
I don't think that it's a bug at all.

Recent news stated that it is a bug from their institutional trader:
“One of our institutional traders indicated to us that they had a bug in their trading algorithm, which appears to have caused the sell-off that was reported this morning,” a Binance.US spokesperson told CoinDesk.

“We are continuing to look into the event but understand from the trader that they have now fixed their bug and that the issue appears to have been resolved,” the spokesperson said, declined to comment on further details about the crash.

I envy those who are able to gain quick profit because of the devastating bug. I mean, damn, those swings ain't small. Yet in the other hands, there might be some who got their stop loss executed.
I wonder if there's a refund for this considering that those were from their institutional traders.

On the other note, all exchanges should have a feature to avoid like this user's mistake happens again.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice machine on: October 21, 2021, 08:49:34 PM
Computer games these days are different in gambling though, particularly for a simple dice game. Just let him to comes at you first to ask about gambling since he probably knows that you gambles and wait til he ask you anything regarding the risks and etc.

Buying the gambling machine is fine to me besides of what others are saying, it will only looks like a household play/entertainment when he or you or anyone is AFK. Educating him about gambling is good but introducing him first about gambling and etc. will only push him to become a future gambler, worst gambling addict.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has died 432 times on: October 21, 2021, 07:21:26 PM
It's in fact a record of how many times people forecasted the end of bitcoin and the official count is 432 up until now. There are thousands more which we have no record of but this has the record. [...]
99bitcoins had this since 2018 and has the highest number of archives (I guess).

I remember someone shared a website with fancy looking chart/illustration website regarding the list of "bitcoin is dead" reasons Cheesy, but sadly, I can't find the thread.

EDIT: I guess this is the website https://www.bitcoinisdead.org/
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin flash crashes to $8200 at Binance.us on: October 21, 2021, 07:07:40 PM
I don't think that it's a bug at all. This isn't the first time something like this happened in the crypto world and it certainly isn't the last. The investors who filled these orders truly deserve their profits.
Yeah, it could be, but we're talking binance here, there are some trading software especially binance have these kind of moderation thing (or whatever you call it to lessen the  the loss and avoid selling so much higher price).

Like anyone said like you too, it's a crazy luck. Then what do you want to call about the one who set the sell order? it's a terrible thing, imagine if it's you. Coz  who the hell will set a sell price for that low? Probably, in just a single digit mistake he ruined his life. The software should have not execute the order to avoid such thing.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin flash crashes to $8200 at Binance.us on: October 21, 2021, 06:34:08 PM
I remember binance.COM have a limit to on the sell/buy order for not that low, even if you set 50% low/high of the current price will pop an error that it's too much to execute the order, for me to assume that they used the same algo in the .US platform and yet it happened.

It must be a bug ~ an expensive bug if the one who set that price for a small mistake of putting another zeros/digit. On the other side, it's a very lucky bug to those who buy/filled it lol.

Logging in using the url on this page to bypass captcha https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php and it will help you a lot.
I don't think that helps against Cloudflare.
I only mean for the login/captcha related issue of mdayonliner though, cloudflare is on another issue.

As for the problems while posting I guess theymos can have tweaks if this is common to TOR users.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: New All Time High Baby! on: October 20, 2021, 06:52:46 PM
Congrats to those who wait and hodl.

For the question, it's best to leave our expectation high as we're in last quarter of the year where bitcoin price historically increases a lot. Always keep in mind of getting new ATH while holding Smiley

Cheers!
229  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Site for Gambling? on: October 20, 2021, 06:28:33 PM
OP seems like he doesn't want to reply the thread if what particular game he wants to play.

Always choose a reputed gambling website with no previous scam accusations. While there are many reasons why users had failed withdrawals attempt, with that problem, a message to website's support is a very big help, and keep it in mind that mostly you need to do KYC for withdrawal and it will make things lot easier, but of course, only using reputed casino, check:
Some examples I can cite, are Roobet, Duelbits, Bitsler, FortuneJack, Bustadice and others.
230  Economy / Gambling / Re: Big online List of scam casinos. on: October 20, 2021, 05:27:35 PM
Would be nice to see some comments, explaining why a particular website in the list was recognized as a scam.
This. Because anyone can do the same for such list. The website owner/admin/in-charge of the list can make even just a brief summary why it was labeled as scam, or put an external link of the details why they list a particular website as a scam
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: October 19, 2021, 08:26:51 PM
Inoue is a superstar, he would only fight champions so they will make big money in a fight,
His previous fight wasn't a champion but a challenger so it's still possible that he will fight casimero or anyone who wants to challenge him. But it would be better for both camp and for the fans if the match is a unification bout, of course, it will be a huge payout for them as well.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with crypto??? on: October 19, 2021, 07:03:22 PM
I used to pay with bitcoin especially buying digital goods, game credits and regarding my hosting account in namecheap, until it came to this price range and I stopped paying instead I used paypal and other alternatives.
At this moment that it reaches higher price, I have hold and wait till get profit instead Wink
233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best decentralized exchange? on: October 19, 2021, 06:19:14 PM
How about the dYdX exchange?
The exchange is pretty new to me, though it doesn't have any bad/negative reviews even there's no scam accusation posted yet, but the same time it doesn't have any enough reviews from the forum as well.
While it's easy to say they will be a legit/good exchange, but it still safe to use exchanges with lots of reviews and proven by many, I'll go for what exchanges have been mentioned above.
234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I found my old Wallet with 22 BTC but I lost the password on: October 19, 2021, 12:31:48 PM
Do not share your wallet.dat file to random "helpers", that's the very first thing you should be aware of.
If you really want to, send it to people with positive ratings (click "Trust" in their profile page) and ask others if they can trust that person.
Unfortunately, not all who have positive ratings can be trusted especially to someone who doesn't have technical knowledge about this. So I only recommend dave (profile linked above) to do such task coz he knew all this stuff.
And OP, paying 20% of the funds is quite lesser than other service recovery offerings, and doing it with a trusted guy is a win-win for you, besides you still get >17 BTC if successfully recovered.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ***BREAKING *** Bitcoin ETF is approved on: October 18, 2021, 07:49:41 PM
Is this still effective? I mean, yes, lots of people here expect ETF way back years ago, yet it didn't happened until people doesn't care anymore of every news regarding ETF. And there are lots of reasons why bitcoin still increasing despite of those ETF getting disapproved. Private companies and even government recognized/accepting bitcoin, proving that it's more important than what ETF could do. But I guess this still bring hype, and that's not bad at all.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: October 18, 2021, 07:04:39 PM
so I would stay away from this and only bet what you are willing to lose.
Only if you can surely identify those matches are fixed, as it's somewhat difficult to recognize.

Coz obviously, if people knows that the fight is a fixed match then isn't it easy to bet and win coz they probably knew that it was fixed? Where the future winner of the fight is already obvious?
237  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can the signals of Twitter accounts be trusted? on: October 18, 2021, 09:29:09 AM
Signals from a newly made twitter account? Where did you find that account in the very first place. It will be considerable if signals came from an account with millions of followers, but that doesn't change the fact that signals can be trusted. Anyone can make it with their so called TAs.

On your 4 months checking on twitter could have been very useful if you have been educated on trading, made a research, and learn from different kind of trading strategy and tried it. Most of the time, it's an trial and error.
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction says received but I did not receive it please help on: October 17, 2021, 07:22:25 PM
It would be better if you tell us what exchange/wallet did your friend used. There might be lot of reasons why it happened, e.i. syncing error, bug on exchange/wallet side. If the wallet/exchange/service used is legit/non-scammer then probably it can be resolved and the opposite if it's a non-legit wallet/exchange.
239  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges facts on: October 17, 2021, 01:04:16 PM
Hoping that they won't turn the same as Binance.

I think that they can work on it even if the day comes that they're expanding from country to country and they'll aim for the top. It's just hard to see that they'll remain to be like this because we've been hoping of the same for Binance.
It happened to binance coz they want to broaden their users and operating while they don't have license to operate in that country e.i. US and UK, now that the authorities urge them to follow business standards and urge their users for personal requirements. If kucoin did happen to operate on these countries, they'll probably will require KYC on the platform.

The days that a centralized exchange will be "alone" and operate without any kind of KYC / AML, is long gone. Sad
As bitcoin proves its worth, and get acknowledge by governments on many countries, KYC/AML will be and is already a part of the industry, it will be the new normal. So, users will have no choice but to provide information if they want to use these platforms, else use alternatives.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Estonia on a road to possibly revoke most crypto licenses issued in the country on: October 16, 2021, 11:56:41 PM
Hopefully though, it doesn't mean the total shutdown of exchanges and financial services in the country, otherwise if could be a big blow to crypto market in general.
It will, soon as their SEC like agency do monitor and pass regulation requirements for those companies then we will see like a south korea way, where quality over quantity which lots of exchanges and didn't/can't comply the requirements that leads to shutting them down I suppose.
